His ears would immediately perk up upon hearing Heronpaw's familiar voice, a small purr would erupt in his throat as she approached him at sat down near him. Admittedly Berylpaw hadn't been too active around clan life recently, he was trying to get out there but each and every time he never seemed to be able to. Maybe soon he'd be a more familiar face around RiverClan, he hoped so at least.

"Heronpaw." He'd greet back with a purr, "I'm doing alright. Rather tired lately though... strange considering I don't do much." He'd muse lightly. Allowing his tail to gently wrap around his paws, he'd blink for a moment before continuing to respond. "There's no need to apologize, I've got through... plenty of similar situations to understand."

"Have you... been doing better?" He'd wearily ask, not sure if she necessarily wanted to talk about it yet but he figured it was worth asking.

A soft smile would form on his features and a purr would rumble in his throat as he shook his head at the molly's comment. "I beg to differ. It's the other way around dear." He'd muse, though arguably the large tom believed it was true. Though he tried his best... and he supposed that was that. He was just glad Heronpaw seen something in him, and it was definitely something Berylpaw could not.

"I'm glad." The relieved words were quick to leave his throat, for awhile he had been worried for Heronpaw and rightfully so perhaps. He hated seeing her unhappy, hated seeing her miserable. It made him feel terrible knowing that there had been nothing he could've done for the she-cat, but he was just glad now she was better. "That's good! It's something I definitely need to get better at." He'd admit, he knew Heronpaw had a decent sized family in RiverClan... and he was doing fairly bad at getting to know any of them. Perhaps a little later down the line of their conversation he'd ask Heronpaw to... well maybe properly introduce him to them all sometime. But for now he didn't want to worry too much about it.

"Hmm... not long until we or- at least you become a warrior now is it?" He'd purr, "Have any hopes for what your warrior name will be? Excited to not have the constant nagging of warriors and mentors ringing in your ears?"

A small laugh would escape his maws alongside hers, that was good! Beryl himself wasn't sure what he exactly thought about becoming a warrior. His whole entire apprenticeship was rather rough, but he was hoping once he finally was considered an adult he could live... life? No more drama. No more worrying and grieving over the deaths of family, his goal was to be with Heronpaw and be happy with her. Maybe even get involved within the clan more? He hoped... he hoped...

"Good! I'm just excited to finally not have to listen to the lectures of mentors..." He'd muse before he'd listen to the names Heronpaw would mention. "Heronswoop and Heroncall both sound lovely. I'm fond of 'swoop' admittedly." He would meow with a nod. "Dang, Heronsong is pretty too."

Him? Names? Well... he had a few in mind. But one was beginning to... stick with him. He was thinking about asking Nightstar to just name him that, and be done with it. She'd do that right? Take a name by request? He hoped so. "Well I have a few ideas. But... their secret for now. But in the past I've thought of things such as Berylfang… Berylgaze. I think Beryldork out of all the ideas I've thought of is most fitting though." He'd joke as another laugh would escape him. "So... once we're warriors I suppose that's the last time we'll ever be promoted. Well, me at least." He'd continue with a shrug. "Have any dreams or goals for warriorhood though?"

Upon hearing the call to gather, Berylpaw would let out a small yawn before scanning the already gathered cats. Upon finding Heronpaw among the crowd he began to pad towards her, murmuring 'excuse me' to anyone he had to brush past in order to get by her. Giving her a small smile once he finally reached her he'd sit down and cast his gaze over to the leader.

The calming sounds of the river could be heard and along with a bird's gentle melodies as the white warrior made his way over to the border, the sun was just beginning to rise... and if SkyClan's patrols were the same as they had been when he was there (though he had been absent in clan life) the dawn patrol should be here any minute. The tom was carrying bags under his eyes... he had gotten no sleep last night considering he was holding vigil. Heronswoop most likely had to keep quietly nudging him awake in a reminder that he needed to stay up. What was even the point of vigils? It was stupid, a lot of the things clans did were stupid... But staying awake for one whole night wasn't going to kill him.

He assumed most of the newly made warriors had went to their nests right after being dismissed, well not him. He decided to go to the border, to see SkyClan. The only reason he was even here today was because of them, and he'd never forget all that they had done for him even when he had done so little for them in return. He wondered if anyone... cared about his absence... it had been moons so he was sure the whispers of him had halted, but he wondered if he was ever in anyones thoughts at all. It didn't matter though, not too much at least. He was interested to see if any new faces would greet him, he heard Butterflydawn had another litter with Lavenderskies... and since Butterflydawn was a "kinda" parent to him that meant perhaps these kits would be "kinda" siblings to him.

Was Buckpaw and Boapaw still around? They'd be warriors now right? He wondered how they were doing...

He wondered how SkyClan was doing.

So sitting down at the border he waits... he waits to be found and hopes to perhaps catch up with his old friends and family.

"I agree with the child." The newer warrior decided to speak up, was he even active enough in clan-life for anyone to care what he thought about such matters? Probably not but if he was going to get more involved you had to start somewhere. "Things happen sometimes. The code has been broken countless times before and will be done countless more times. I'm not any of the medicine cats, and I'm not Nightstar or Twistedtail but I think demoting you would be a foolish thing to do." He would meow with a small nod. "But no matter what is decided, I believe the most important thing in such a situation is to take care of yourself for your children." He hoped it relieved the molly somewhat that there were cats within the clan who supported her, even if he honestly had never spoken to much with the medicine cat.

Tired golden eyes would look up upon hearing the voice... taking a quick moment to scan the young tom up and down he assumed this was an apprentice he was talking to. Whoever it was for sure hadn't been around when he was in SkyClan... most likely hadn't even been born yet. With a grunt he shrugs, "Indeed I am not." He says bluntly. "I'm a former SkyClanner, I left SkyClan when I was around seven moons old for RiverClan. There are quite a bit of cats within your clan that are the reason I'm still alive... most are dead but I know some faces from when I was there still remain."

"So I suppose I'm here to visit. In hopes of seeing some family and friends again, you er... you know Butterflydawn and his family? Maybe even Buckpaw and Boapaw? Their all around still... right?"

"I'll take one too." Berylbreeze mumbled as he approached the scene, he was pretty sure the last time he asked for a task he failed to do it. Hopefully he'd actually get up and do this one. He had been fairly absent so this would be good to remind his clan that he was still alive, but he didn't doubt he'd probably end up vanishing again despite his best efforts to stay in the game.

Merely a few days ago Berylbreeze had ended up receiving the news from Boapaw that his brother Buckwheat had passed away, it seem that every time the white tom ended up showing his face again another one of his loved ones passed away. It didn't help that RiverClan had been facing problem after problem recently either. It saddened him immensely that he was gone, but at least this time the death of a loved one didn't send him straight to the warriors den to spend weeks on end being a sob. Anyways, he had been going to head out to do something... anything really in hopes of being productive when Heronswoop had approached him. A soft smile would tug at his lips, "Nah, I'm free." He purrs quietly, his voice a little quieter then usual. He didn't plan on mopping about but that didn't mean he was going to force himself to purr, smile and talk enthusiastically all day. "I'd love to though. Where were you wanting to go and hunt? Obviously... not the river y'know but." He meows, as he already begins to slowly begin to pad off to the exit of camp so the two could be on their way.

With a small nod he opens his maw, "That sounds good to me." He meows as he begins to trail behind Heronswoop and follow her. Even though he had been in RiverClan for... moons now honestly he had never ended up being the best at fishing. When he did hunt it usually was on land, it was still rather strange to him that most cats in RiverClan found it difficult to hunt mice and birds... Back in SkyClan they did that all the time, and not only in the ground but in trees too. Still, even though recently it had been his time to shine and help the clan out thanks to his SkyClan training he still hadn't been seen around too often. He was always just there, and honestly for the time being he supposed he was fine with that. He then gives Heronswoop a small shake of his head, "Don't worry about it at all, I can attempt to help you out if you'd like? Never been the best at teaching or explaining things though..." He murmurs. "Either way, help or no help I'm sure you'll do fine." He then purrs.

SkyClan? His head shot up upon hearing the clans name and a strange feeling of eagerness and excitement pricked in his paws. Deciding to leave whatever he was doing the large warrior pads over to Heronswoop, his beryl necklace swaying back and forth with each paw-step he took. "I'll join you as well." He meows after Toadjump. He wondered if they'd get close enough to the border to end up seeing anyone... he wanted to know how Boapaw was doing. The death of Buckwheat still saddened him immensely, he could only imagine what his sister was feeling... She was the only one of them left within SkyClan, and Berylbreeze couldn't help but feel a little guilty for it.

Despite the fact he had joined RiverClan moons ago, ever since he joined his activity and appearances within the clan had been heavily lacking. He decided it was time to step up his game a bit and get out more. So today he was padding around aimlessly, searching for something to do when he spotted Toadjump sunbathing nearby camp. Ew. The sun felt nice sometimes but considering he hadn't shredded out his winter coat yet (and in general already being a thick furred feline) just laying around in it to the massive white tom was practically begging for a headache. Though... perhaps a conversation could be struck? He needed to get to know his clan-mates more instead of just being Heronswoop's shadow.

"Hey." Calls the white warrior as he begins to pad over, a small smile tugs on his lips. "Toadjump right? I don't believe we've formally met despite the fact that... I've been around here for awhile. The names Berylbreeze in case ya' didn't know." He says, sitting down a few feet away from the rock the tom was resting on. "Is the sun nice today?" He then muses, shuffling his paws anxiously. He was always a bad conversation starter, and he didn't even know if the tom wanted to be spoken to right now.

Oh look, the ghost of RiverClan had decided to actually show up to a meeting for once. Even though he hadn't been active in clan life... basically up until now- or at least he hoped he'd be active now, Nightstar stepping down was a bit of a shock to the massive tom. Though he obviously thanks to never being around didn't know Twistedstar or Gladefall well the clan seemed to like em both so he did too. Besides, it was RiverClan. He wasn't too sure if there was a bad soul to be seen anywhere within the clan. Padding up to stand besides Heronswoop, he decides to offer help as well.

"I haven't been active around RiverClan for awhile, but seeing that SkyClan is still in need of volunteers if you'd like I'd be more then happy to go with whoever there Twistedstar." He calls to the leader with a gentle flick of his tail. SkyClan. Home. His former one. It'd be nice to see Boapaw or Butterflydawn there, he missed the two of them and wondered how they were doing. Still he had not gotten to check up and see how Boapaw was doing after their brother Buckwheat passed away. Maybe if Twistedstar allowed him to he could get that chance to check up on her today.

And of course Heronswoop's shadow hadn't taken long at all to notice that... well she looked a little off. Of course the first thing that came to his mind was... well the poison or whatever... He most certainly hoped that wasn't what was going on, and if it was like Swanfeather was suggesting she needed to get checked out by a medicine cat immediately. So the massive white tom moves to stand over by his mate with concern, "Yeah. Are you alright Heronswoop? You should go an see one of the medicine cats." He echos after Swanfeather, his dim yellow gaze staring down at the calico with concern. The last thing he wanted for Heronswoop was to get sick... or worse. A shiver ran down his spine at the mere thought, no. He was over exaggerating.

Uneasily Berylbreeze would watch silently, his paws anxiously shuffling against the ground as Rootlegs checked Heronswoop over. He could tell by his facial expression though everything was fine which was... relieving to him. But why did he look... excited? Oh god, even more anxiety began to sink into his stomach. What was he- oh.

"Wait wait... what?" Confusion swarmed through him immediately. Did the medicine cat just say that? Did he really? No... there was no way. Unlike Heronswoop, Beryl failed to find much humor in it and with a panicked expression he pads closer over to the scene. "You're joking right? Whats actually going on?" He murmurs in disbelief. Truly he was joking? There was no way Heronswoop was expecting kits, and most certainly no way he was going to be a father.

Heronswoop's shadow had disappeared for a bit, but at least it hadn't been for nearly as long as his other disappearances. Usually you could only find the white warrior right behind Heronswoop and when he wasn't he was probably dozing off in the warriors den or something. But he was trying to get back into it today, which was why he was going to go out and try to do some hunting. Unlike most RiverClan cats he assumed, he actually preferred hunting on land and he preferred the types of prey the earth had to offer rather then the water. Fish was okay and all, but nothing would ever beat a bird or a mouse in Berylbreeze's opinion. So he begins to walk in the direction of the SkyClan border, following the river... which still smelled kind of horrid but at this point he was used to its off scent. However as he's walking along the riverbank... he hears soft mews in the distance. Even though his own kits were not born yet, fatherly instincts seem to almost instantly kick in. Concerned he quickly pads off in the direction of the meows, and sure enough as he continues to quickly pad alongside the river three bundles of fur can be seen laying side by side of each other. Kits... not even old enough to open their eyes. His heart sinks, they were clearly abandoned... Someone, one of their parents dropped them off here and considering he was having a hard type picking up any other scent it had been awhile since any adult had been here.

Immediately he felt some type of connection to the children. Berylbreeze himself had been abandoned as a child right smack in the middle of SkyClan. He was a bit older however, but he could just barely remember his mother dropping him off and leaving... She gave him only a beryl necklace to remember her by and for some reason he wore it. He wore a gift that the mother who abandoned him gifted him.

It had been a shock when he had learned that his mother had been DarkClan's deputy Jewelpelt, and that he had multiple other siblings throughout the clans... along with even more siblings in DarkClan.

He doubted any of them were still around. He was alone.

Shaking the thoughts out of his head he moves towards the kits, a little confused... on how to handle them. They needed a home... they needed parents. He had some in mind... a couple they could go to but they weren't in RiverClan. But he knew the couple he was thinking about would take good care of them, and they'd have plenty of siblings to play with as well. He wasn't sure if once other RiverClan cats found the kits and approached the scene if they'd be so keen of RiverClan not taking the kits in... but the cats he knew would raise the kits well needed a pick me up. Some joy in their lives. This would help them, this would help them a little...

He had thought briefly about... asking Heronswoop if she would like to adopt them. If they could raise them. But they had their own litter on their way and it'd be their first, their focus and attention needed to be on the children they had coming.

He'd stay quiet about his idea for now, and instead waited for others to approach. He wouldn't be able to carry them all back to camp with him, and he wasn't about to just leave one or two alone. Who knows how long they had been out by themselves for... It'd probably be best if the three of them were checked up on by a medicine cat. Once that was settled he'd propose the idea he had.

    //sloppy post but :0

this is just for a plot reason so no one has to reply, just wanted to post something for it lol.

Just don't have your character adopt the kits (they can attempt to though but Beryl will interfere). Beryl will end up taking em else where soon <3<3

So focused on the children when Finchpaw called his name he let off a small jump before his head immediately swirled around to face the medicine cat apprentice. Immediately before he stepped back as if to silently say "look at these guys" as if Finchpaw didn't already see them or hear their loud cries. "I-I... I just found them here. They don't look all that old... and I can't pick up a trace of their parents." He murmurs... still in some strange disbelief of finding the children. How could parents be so cruel? Maybe it was wrong to assume this was by choice, but his mother split Berylbreeze and his siblings up completely by choice. He still didn't understand her reasons to why... "I'm just glad I came across them when I did. There is plenty of things out here that would snatch the poor things up in a heart-beat." It saddened him. It broke his heart it did... was this how SkyClan found him? Lost... scared... hungry... crying?

He blinked at Finchpaw's comment. His?

He'd love to. But he couldn't.

He couldn't with his own kits on the way, they'd never get the attention and love they deserved with Heron's and his own on their way shortly. They needed a family that would love them and give them all the attention they needed. He just... he didn't believe with them being first time parents him and Heronswoop would be ready to juggle three kits on top of their own.

He watches as she approaches the children. He remains silent for a moment before shaking his head. "Me? No... I can't. Heronswoop and I can't." He finally speaks. He watches Finchpaw's gaze, hoping not to see any concern. Were they... okay? For physically at least? "How do they look? Will they be okay? I'm sure their hungry... is there a queen available to feed them for the time being do you think?" He asks with a small tilt of his head.

"I... I think I know a family who would be able to take the kits in though. They just... are not RiverClan. SkyClan." His old clan. Cats who were part of his old family. "After they get fed, do you think I'd be allowed to take them there?" Perhaps that would be seen as a huge red flag to RiverClan, him trying to hand off kits to his old clan. But these were children, kits who needed a family... He was sure there were cats in RiverClan who would love them to bits, but he knew they'd be well taken care of in SkyClan too. Not to mention... they might be exactly what the grieving family needed. Kits to love and care for, something to look forward to.

A few days back Beryl had ended up discovering kits at the side of the riverbank... no scent to be found and zero sign of any parents. There had been three of them, and the image of them helplessly squirming around and crying out for anyone to help them still pained his heart... If Berylbreeze hadn't already been expecting a family of his own, and not even knowing if he was ready for that alone, he would've begged Heronswoop to allow him to take them in. But... he couldn't. They couldn't. But the children needed a home that would care for them, parents that would love them as if they were their own, a family that would cherish them. He was positive there were families in RiverClan that would take them, but... Berylbreeze knew for certain that these kits would have a place in SkyClan... and if the hopefully soon to be adoptive parents of these kits accepted his offer a heavy weight of making sure the kits were loved and alright would be off his shoulder.

He didn't want them to end up like him... abandoned and hating the world. Split up from their siblings... no none of that.

So he sits down at the border and awaits for someone to find him. He was here for Butterflydawn or Lavenderskies, both of them preferably but his luck on encountering both of them today would most likely be slim. If not them at least someone within the Butterflydawn and Lavenderskies family to fetch them or allow him to cross the border in order to talk to the two. He wondered how his kinda adoptive in a weird way family was doing... and he wondered how Boapaw was doing... Maybe after buisness was settled he could tell them that he and Heroonswoop were expecting kits? Boapaw would probably laugh but eh. He couldn't blame her.
