    CAN'T MAKE NO PROMISES

Tiny mews could be heard from the white bundle as Berylkit was introduced into the world for the very first time. The second born. He felt abandoned, no longer secured by the warmth of his mother and littermates. Although he felt safe once more as he felt his mothers loving licks.

The tom kit weakly drew himself closer to the scent of milk, his paws kneading his mothers stomach before suckling. Once again comforted by the scent and warmth of her, along with the rest of his littermates following up shortly after.

Berylkit he heard his mother say. He felt some type of odd attachment to it... Only partially knowing that was the name he would go by for the next six moons. The name he would go by when introduced to his adoptive clan. The name he'd go by when he'd long to find out who his family was. The name he'd go by when he was shattered by his heritage. What really ran in his blood.

But all of that was future Beryl's problems, and his only job now was to simply live.

    CAN'T MAKE NO PROMISES

A loud cry of a kit could be heard near the border of SkyClan territory as hurried paw-steps marched through the trees. Dangling from the jaws of a she-cat, the white bundle of fur continued to let out small cries in complaint of the cold. A small string around his neck swayed back in forth through the wind as he was carried, the piece of beryl on it giving a spark each time a glimmer of sunlight kissed its surface.

Slowly, the pace of his mother slowed down near by a tree. Tucking him close to the roots where he'd be safe until he was found by his new clan. His future clan-mates...

When put on the ground, Berylkit thought for a moment that maybe finally the warmth of his mother would return. That she'd snuggle close to him with his litter-mates... but all he heard was a brief whisper and a gentle nuzzle to his forehead. Before he laid there defenseless as she turned and disappeared into the trees. Alone the large bundle of fur laid, cold and defenseless. The tree was enough to block most of the wind if it continued to blow into the same direction. But nothing could cure the kits sense of abandonment. His mother? Gone. Litter-mates? Gone. The world he knew and began to love was gone.

Hungry and cold cries continued to ring throughout the area, as he hoped for his mothers return if he cried loud enough... but moments passed and nothing. He didn't give up, no. He'd keep on fighting, hoping she'd return to him.

At the sound of faint voices and paw-steps Berylkit continued to send out louder calls in hope that his mother would find him, or at this point someone. His tiny ears folded back against a slight breeze that sent chills down his spine, but he was reassured with the louder and louder the paw-steps were getting. He'd be safe again...

Deep down inside, the white kit knew that the approaching sounds were not caused by his mother. She left him. He didn't know why or if she meant to. Was there any chance she just had meant to leave to get food for herself? The kit didn't know.

The kit felt great relief as he was picked up. A reassuring voice comforted him... it wasn't his mothers, no. But all he wanted now was for someone to make him safe. Someone to reassure him he'd be okay.

A small mew in complaint of the cold escaped him as he curled up in the she-cats grasp, but he knew he was safe. He knew he would have a home once again.

Until his mother came back for him. She would come back for him. He knew she would.

//sorry for taking 2 years to give a lame reply. I also semi had forgotten they were dropped off at the clans when they were two moons. So I was rping him nearly like a newborn. Just pretend that he was too cold/scared to properly speak???

The white kit immediately felt comfort in the warmth of the nusery with Orchardbreeze. He laid on the ground by her, keeping still hoping he'd warm up a little faster.

Name? Berylkit could never forget the voice of his mother when she gave him one. Berylkit.

"B-Berylkit." He managed through a shiver. He glanced at Briartail, he was unsure of who any of these cats were. But they seemed nice...

"I-Is my mom here?" He asked, looking around as if he was going to find her. But he knew he wouldn't. She was gone now. Leaving him to wonder why she abandoned him.

    CAN'T MAKE NO PROMISES

Mischievous eyes wondered around the SkyClan camp, the place he had now called home. Given the fact he was only two moons old the large white kit felt that he had been here for ages, and he was just like any other kit. SkyClan born. He knew his mother dropped him off here, but Berylkit convinced himself it was because he was special. She wanted him to grow up in the clan that should have been his birth clan. That's definitely what it was...

Oh he'd find out soon enough.

For now, he was left with no other job but to cause chaos in the SkyClan camp. Not anything harmful of course but.. something that gets adrenaline pumping. But why do it alone when SkyClan was filled with other kits to do the dirty work for him? He looked around, scanning for one of the fellow younger cats who could possibly fall victim to his games.

    .Vinepaw.

    CAN'T MAKE NO PROMISES

His eyes wondered, until a familiar voice chirped. Looking over in the direction of the noise he spotted Vinekit. The slightly older kit may not fall for his games, but it was worth a try.

"Hi Vinekit!" He squeaked, tail high in the air. "Wanna play a game? I promise its super safe and there is nooo way we could possibly get in trouble for it!" He added on innocently.

The kit gave the she-kit a secretive glance, before flicking his tail signaling for her to follow him. Quietly, he padded over to the edges of camp. He could probably still obviously be seen. But being quiet wouldn't draw attention. Looking back at her, he smiled.

"The game is simple. Whoever can walk the furthest out of camp while trying not to get caught!" He said excitedly in a whisper. "Only if we get caught... we're both eliminated. We take rounds, lets say I walk two paw-steps out of camp. You have to take at least three to still be in the game. But the goal is to get out far enough to the point I wouldn't want to risk going again." He hoped that made sense, as he really really wanted to play!

"The first one of us who decides not to go further, loses. And the other wins!"

//lol ok if someone wants to catch them feel free to now.

Excitement sparked in his eyes, she actually would play the game with him! Without even thinking when she asked who would go first, he took five large paw-steps out of camp. Really, it probably wasn't much of a big deal, but he could imagine perpetually if the game lasted long enough they could possibly get fairly far away... But Berylkit himself wasn't sure if he wanted to do that.

He looked back at Vinekit, ears perked. "Your turn!"

    CAN'T MAKE NO PROMISES

Remember anything? He tried to think about the areas they passed through, but the kit hadn't really been paying attention to any of that. He just remembered wondering where his siblings were, wondering where they were heading.

"I don't remember the trip at all..." He started, "The wind was cold and blowing in my eyes, so I shut them most of the way here.."

"I think I heard her leave, the sound of her paw-steps vanished quickly, so maybe she was in a hurry? Maybe shes coming back?"

Berylkit felt somewhat betrayed, why did he get dropped off and his siblings didn't? So many questions rummaged through his mind.

He looked over at the cats as the cat he now knew as Orchardbreeze introduced them. From what he has seen he liked it here. Staying here wouldn't be a problem with him, he just had wished his sibling and his mother was here with him...

    CAN'T MAKE NO PROMISES

Berylkit let out an alarmed squeak when he heard the voice of Orchardbreeze extremely close by. He froze in place, allowing for his adoptive mother to pick him up. Upon being let down on the ground, he shook out his fur before looking back up at her.

"It was only five steps out of camp! Our noses would have to be broken not to have already scented something that close! He cried out the excuse. The camp had plenty of warriors right? Plus Orchardbreeze if anything did happen.

"Either way, I can fight! If anything had shown up I would have been able to handle me and Vinekit!"

    "Speech."

    ———— BERYLKIT————

    CAN'T MAKE NO PROMISES

The slightly older kit usually strayed from getting himself involved with kit games. He grew up with adoptive siblings relatively older then him, so as expected he was slightly more mature then the average four moon old. He was a little sour that he wasn't allowed to become an apprentice along with his siblings, but in a sense he understood. He didn't blame the clan, but instead his unknown kin. The kin that abandoned him and left him. He faintly remembered all of it, his mothers warm fur, his littermates brushing up against him. Gone. All of it was gone.

Today however, the kit was in a good mood. So he found himself in Snowdropkit's game of mossball. As the ball rolled toward him, the kit let out a small huff as he batted it back to Snowdropkit.

"C'mon, put some muscle into your next kick! I want to be able to kick it half-way a cross camp!" Of course, and exaggeration of course.

    ———— BERYLKIT————

    CAN'T MAKE NO PROMISES

Berylkit looked over at Lightstep, who had just been accepted into the clan as a warrior. He had seen him around from time to time... in a sense they were familiar. They were outsiders technically compared to the rest of the cats here. Perhaps both unwanted too.

"Berylkit." He meowed, introducing himself. "And I don't see why not! Mossball is more fun with more cats anyways. Y'know how to play?" He asked with a small tilt of his head.

    "Speech."

    ———— BERYLKIT————

    CAN'T MAKE NO PROMISES

With a small nod, Berylkit looked at the white warrior giving his smaller tail a flick. Berylkit was unaware that he shared the same breed as the tom, and would most likely look fairly similar to him once he was grown. It was probably for the best he was unaware... otherwise he'd probably think even better of himself.

"Mossball is simple." He started, "Although sometimes you can host advanced versions of it, like having multiple cats on teams and batting it in the air, and whoever lets it touch the ground first loses. But thats beside the point." He rambled slightly. Mostly trying to boast his knowledge of the game. "But in a basic game, you just throw or kick the mossball back and forth," He said, raising his paw to hit at an invisible mossball as if to demonstrate. "There really isn't a winner to this game, but you get boasting rights if you make a cat miss their hit!" He purred, sitting down and folding his tail around his paws.

    CAN'T MAKE NO PROMISES

Berylkit was being a pain in the ass around camp like always, especially now that his adoptive littermates moved out of the nursery. He never had anyone to talk to... maybe besides Lavenderskies kits but they were younger than him. Why would he want to play with them all day?

He stayed away from kit games, playing mossball that one time with Snowdropkit was an exception. He wouldn't be caught playing anything like that again, unless...

His yellow gaze darted over to Lilysong. Berylkit wasn't sure he cared much for the warrior, never had he seen her act... normal? She was always dancing about from what he seen, always being a complete optimist. He hated it.

"Hmm." He grumbled to himself as she proposed a game of hide and seek. He was bored... and winning to Lilysong probably wouldn't be too hard. Especially with the new snow they had gotten with his white pelt. Perhaps it was a kit game, but if it was a warrior hosting it... who cares?

"I'll join." He said simply, approaching the strange warrior. Curious on how this would go or if anyone else would join.

    //ic opinions he's an ass.
