[ i'm sorry for the late response! ]

Watching her little sister bounce over to her was almost heart-wrenching. The young woman, for a moment, forgot why she was so resentful of having siblings. She forgot the strain she put herself through, the struggles of being the only child and watching your parents grieve and accept any living being into their arms. Aphy's innocence was nearly hypnotizing to the point of her forgetting her past issues. However, even as she clicked back into reality, she figured that forgetting those troubles wouldn't be so bad, either.

"I made you this. Mom and Dad have something similar, too," she held out the golden bow, careful to present it only in the best light, She brought her tail around to show off her cuff, "Think of it as a family trinket, okay? It binds us each together."

More offered to help, though she could only recognize one. Her focus remained on the speaking avian for a few moments, before she nodded with a slight smile, "I would appreciate your help, Mr...?" she hoped he would take the hint and introduce himself. Was he like that owl that Canoris had one her back, ages ago? Or did he act on his own? Her mind ran with the ideas before she turned to the wolf leader herself, her smile remaining but becoming a tad bit strained, "Any help is good help, Canoris," she hummed.

And finally, her attention returned to her sister, her own long tail lashing, "Close, Aphy," she hummed, "You have to make sure you get the roots out, too, or the weeds will just grow back. Do you need me to show you how, or do you think you have it?"

As a vice leader, Persephone would've sent out at first notes of her girlfriend being gone. She would've ravaged, conquered - devoured, even, anything that stood in her way to bring Candela back home. Too many times had they drifted away from each other, and Percy was brimming with anger that she had somehow allowed it to happen again. However, since her return, Percy was only a paladin - a major in the workforce but someone with little power, especially in comparison to what she once had. She had to sit and wait, like the good little girl she had always been, but she knew full well if Candela's body was dumped without a beating heart, no one in this troubled Clan would live to see the aftermath of their caution.

Though she was last called, Persephone moved as quickly as she possibly could to be the first there. Her teeth grit even at the mere glimpse of Candela's bloody and battered form, forging forward, crying and calling for help. Persephone spread out her wings to the best of her ability and moved as quickly as her clunky paws could take her, occasionally flapping for an extra boost. Eventually, she came face to face with Candela and wasted no time to touch her - she didn't even notice how starved she had been, perhaps covered up by her anger and distress.

"Candy, Candy, slow down," she didn't mind the blood as she moved to curl around the canine, touching her nose gently to the other's ear, carefully rasping her tongue over it in hopes of soothing her girlfriend, "The others will come soon, but please, Candy," her tone pitched slightly as she came into a begging tone, "Please."

Seeing Bast be all cute and cuddly with her younger sister, Persephone almost missed her own raptor, lost on the islands since her own disappearance. She almost hoped to see Medusa again, her jungle feathered raptor being the source of most of her happiness on her lower days. Soured by her memories, the young paladin approached on light paws, her wings pulled tight against her sides. Her ears tilted backwards as she watched Aphrodite play aimlessly with the white raptor, "We hatched them from some eggs," she hummed to answer Lycus' question, "Some big dragon was guarding them, and - well, that's a story on its own. But I'm pretty sure they're only on the islands."

    [ Candela ]

"Your mother was a beautiful woman."

"I know," her words were curt with the stranger, her black gloved hands holding tight onto the only clutch she owned - one that only came into her possession because of the woman in the casket. She felt like a grieving widow, with all of the people surrounding her, paying their respects to one of the lone daughters of the esteemed Kady Keyper. She could see her father not too far off, getting the same treatment. Did he know better? That these people would forget about their loss in a few days time, that everything would return to normal? Persephone instinctively wiped away a tear, grateful that since she moved back from private school, she had gotten her own apartment. She couldn't deal with more and more grieving souls, no - she just wanted to be in her less-than-furnished tiny apartment. She wanted to be away from here.

"Excuse me, I have to go to the lady's room," she hummed, pushing past the crowd. She left the small hall in a hurry, seemingly only breathing steadily as she stood outside of it. She didn't even know where the bathroom was in the funeral home, but truthfully she didn't need it. She just needed out of that claustrophobic situation and surely none of them would've allowed a different excuse. Her shoulders shook slightly as tears fell fearlessly from her eyes, but again the woman didn't seem remorseful. She would miss her mother dearly, would have issues processing and would likely even have to go to therapy, as a lot of Kady's past had arisen as everything was spliced up and given to her husband and children.

Her watery eyes lifted from the ground for a moment, catching onto a very familiar, very needed sight. Candela. She seemed to be idling near her mother, though Persephone had no wants with Canoris. The young teen took the few steps towards her girlfriend, reaching out a hand to grip her sleeves. She spared none of the others around them a look, focused on Candela and only her, "Can you take me home, Candy? Please?" she asked the other - she had came with family and as such her car remained at her apartment. Walking in a full black garb in this summer heat wasn't an option, either.

[ consider this after human kady's funeral pls ]

The funeral wasn't fun. She could remember attending her grandmother's and feeling nothing, so coming to this one and feeling every emotion under the sun - wasn't fun. But, it was over with, and had been such for a few days now. Percy wasn't one to forget - evidence on the fact that she still held a grudge against Canoris for something that happened in middle school - but she was one to try and move past. Kady wouldn't have wanted her to grieve in silence, but instead celebrate her life and continue to live her own as freely as she could. And so, the young teen packed as much as she could into her dinky little car and drove to the beach.

It wasn't a far drive, thankfully, and as she peered over the sands she could see that many others had the same idea. Sporting a one piece bathing suit (with a few too many cut outs) as well as shorts that were, perhaps, a bit too short for public, the ginger haired girl waved to the others to had already been at the beach, "Great minds think alike, aye?" she hummed as she rolled over with her cooler.

Aphrodite's calls and cries were eerily similar to when she had found Ouranos all those months ago. The pleas, the cries, the begging - Persephone almost refused to see the scene herself, only forging forward when she heard the thunderous flap of her father's wings. As she came close and heard Gray's words, the young ligress could only feel anger. Anger that her mother would just up and leave like she was - it wasn't any of her doing, Persephone was sure of that, but the young paladin always had a way of twisting things to means that weren't there to begin with.

"Shut your trap," the daughter of the dead growled, head tilted in Gray's direction, "You had no issue trying to find Armisticekit's murderer when his guts were scattered in the snow. Let a grieving fiance do the same," especially with all of Kady's belongings gone, this didn't seem like an accident. It seemed more planned, if anything, and Percy was fine with Gabe taking off as he did. She turned away from Gray, flicking his ear to pre-dismiss whatever retort he had to say, beckoning Aphrodite with her paw, "Come. Someone's going to have to make Mom a forever bed, and I need you to help me and make sure it's nice and soft," she had the urge to follow her father, but seeing the trouble Aphy may cause, the young paladin had no issue trying to bring her away.

"I think we have it, Canoris," Persephone came up behind her sister, instinctively drawing her tail around the other's smaller body. She didn't have plans yet for a funeral and would have to talk to Gabe about it, first, but she knew she didn't want it to be all sad. Even up to her death, Kady was making noise and creating a ruckus. She wouldn't want everyone dressed in black and sitting in pews, "Thank you," she tacked on, though her thanks was half hearted. The meeting went on and Persephone only nodded, "I can bring an invite. Just point me in a direction."

QUEEN_PERSE: medusa is still on the run from me, that little rat dog

QUEEN_PERSE: but no - i might reapply to the ice cream place but i'm going to college soon

QUEEN_PERSE: i'm going to major in criminal justice, like mom did

QUEEN_PERSE: hey aphy c: how was your nap

The words that tumbled from her sister's mouth were more than welcome, further pushing off the idea that she had to dislike her siblings. She accepted the nuzzle, pulling her wing around Aphy to give her a tight warm hug, "One big family. And we'll take good care of eachother, okay?" she hummed a promise, reaching up a paw to correct the slightly tilted bow, "I'll always be here for you, Aphy."

To have to put together a funeral for someone who held the wizard title... wouldn't be easy. Even with the help of both her father and her sister, Persephone knew she wouldn't be able to pull something amazing together. The girl wished to have the best funeral for her mother, despite despising her in her last few days. And so, the ligress was picking local blooms, not bothering to use her plant elementals as they never seemed to grow as vibrant. She was silent as she worked, plucking the stem from the ground and laying it, delicately, in her basket.

Maybe it was fitting that the eldest daughter of Kady should arrive first. Large paws parted through the undergrowth and for once, the young woman wondered what of Kady's features did she hold. She knew she got her elongated fangs from Kady, but other features, like eye shape, face shape, fur patterning - she couldn't help but wonder if Thea would see her as Kady's daughter or a stranger until she said it.

"I'm sorry," Persephone murmured first, ears draw back, "Kady is dead. We are currently setting up her funeral," Percy was ever so blunt, though she did make the effort to learn more of the newcomer, curious as to why a beautiful dragon such as herself would be calling for her mother, and with cookies no less, "I'm her daughter. What, ah, relationship did you have with Kady, if I may ask?"

"Heavens above," Persephone unfortunately dealt with gore similar to this. Armisticekit's body was strewn about in the snow, her own wing was torn off and released on display. While she wasn't unaffected, the young woman felt more disgust than utter terror and sadness. She folded in her makeshift wing and came close to try to inspect the letter. It was simple enough, sure, but blood dribbled and spread, and it didn't seem like the murderer had fairly good penmanship to begin with. She squinted before turning to Lycus, who didn't seem all too thrilled about the dead body either.

"Hey, hey, come here," she beckoned to the older creature, "You look like you're going to vomit."

Persephone didn't know if she could say that she knew even the basics. Cobwebs slowed bleeding and one should always wash their wounds as soon as they were able to, but beyond that, she only practiced the remedies she was given. Perhaps it was better that she never accepted becoming a medic, as both her attention span and lack in the ability to commit details to memory would've been the biggest roadblocks to overcome. No, she preferred being a wall of meat, protecting those she was within means to do so. She vaguely wished to rise to Canoris' place in the future, though she found more roadblocks not allowing her to complete that task.

She came forward, tempted to sit beside her girlfriend, only to discard the idea when she saw Gray beside Candela. Right - an herb training session, so of course Candela would be beside her mentor. Aside from Gray's snip at her at the finding of her mother's body, the young woman was unaware of their burning jealousy at her and Candela's blooming relationship. She remained silent, waiting for the training to continue.

Considering how many times she had lost Medusa before, Persephone didn't seem to think that this long absence of her jungle raptor would be much different. Eventually her scent would drift across the islands and Medusa would return home, throw some dirt around, and that would be the end of it. Unfortunately, days became weeks, weeks became months. Percy wanted to hold out hope for her little scavenger, but she couldn't help but wonder what was taking her so long. And so, Percy set out on her own short little adventure.

Medusa's last scent was vague but barely catchable. There were many moments where the paladin felt she lost it, only to catch a slightly fresher one a few feet away. Her paws followed the trail, almost aimless despite the determined look in her eyes. Eventually the trail lead to the boats that lingered on the edge of the island, holding onto the stone with an iron fist, "Medusa..." she rumbled her pets name. If her raptor had run off further than the floating isles, then there would be virtually no way to bring her home. Right?

Percy dove off the side of the island, figuring she could give it a quick look around before giving up. She spent hours beneath the shade of the isles, marveling at the way the waterfalls poured, wondering vaguely if she had time to go to the beach. Eventually, though, she found a mess of a few green and brown colored feathers. Her internal jests ceased as she sniffed them, following the vague trail closer to the center point of the shadow cast by the largest island. There she found her raptor, her companion, hardly breathing and as thin as bone. Persephone imagined the many other images of death she had seen thus far, both gorey and oddly serene, only to decide that Medusa wouldn't get the same treatment.

The ligress moved as quick as she could, diving forward to grasp the sickly Medusa and taking off into the air. She wasted no time bringing the raptor up onto the isles and landing into camp. And though she was still devastatingly thin and held onto ragged breaths, Medusa shown more signs of life than she had done below the islands. The connection was beyond the young woman, her eyes searching for either her girlfriend or Gray, wishing for one of them to simply fix her raptor.

Persephone was ever the one for compliments. Watching her girlfriend come to her was a welcome sight, though she didn't hide the quick overview she gave herself of Candela's outfit. It was fitting of the anxious half of the duo, she felt, but in the same breath Percy wished to hide Candela's beauty. She wanted to steal it for herself and keep it hidden from any disgusting men that looked in their direction. Her eyes glanced at her cooler, her blanket folded neatly on top.

"As do you, Candy. But you look cold," she hummed, hoping her girlfriend would get the hint without having to be outright told. Still, she took the time to gently unfold the blanket, knowing full well that Candela was as dense as a block of iron. Given the other allowed it, she tried to drape the sheet over her pale shoulders, hiding the other's femininity with ease. Her attention was brought back to her cooler in the meantime, a small smile remaining on her face.

"Nothing illegal. Your mom would have my behind if I even tried that," she hummed, grabbing the handle of her cooler and reaching her other hand out to hold Candela's, "Just some sodas and fruit. And water, though there sure is enough of that here," it was a weak joke, but she wanted Candy to feel more relaxed if anything. She appreciated her girlfriend's attempts at making everything feel almost normal again, after all.
