Ayami's small body wriggled slightly as she was introduced to the world. She was confused and nervous about the sudden shift in her reality. Her body felt as if it was being pinned to the ground, weak arms that were used to floating peacefully flailed in a desperate attempt to go somewhere. Anywh-
The scent of her mother and siblings enveloped the tiny she-kit in a warm sensation and simultaneously crushed all her worries of movement and cold. Hunger, almost immediately after, clawed at her growling belly. It took all of Ayami's strength to pull herself closer to her mother's teat and and begin suckling. After some slightly violent head thrashes, milk was flowing freely down her gullet.

As her brother screamed for help from a frog, a small snort erupted from her snout, and she quickly covered her mouth with her paws. They were an inferior barrier to her laughter that then burst forth from them. Ayami dramatically rolled to her side when the episode passed, mossy eyes glinting playfully as they watched their mother comfort Zera. Her lengthy tail flicked slightly with amusement.
How could he have been scared by a frog? That's like being scared by a leaf!
And with that thought, combined with Shinimi's tease, another giggle escaped into the camp. "Maybe you should try and get out more, Z." Ay poked, with a loving grin.

Ayami knew she was born at the right time of year once she had spied on many other members conversations. The marbled Bengal had pieced together enough tidbits of information to figure spooky stuff and candy. And quite frankly that's all she needed to hear to be interested in this holiday. Although the name had seemed to slip her mind..
"Valhalla..!" the call came from the tallest rock in camp.
No, that's not it.. the she-kit thought to herself. As Jailbreak continued, she couldn't help but giggle at herself. Duh, that was their group's name.
Spooky thoughts set aside, the young kit made her way towards the list in a bounding manner. Why, she had just got so excited over the thought of a game! A scavenger hunt at that! As she tumbled to a halt, forepaws just off the list, she squealed. "Spooky stuff! Oh yeah!" Now this was gonna be fun. Maybe she would overhear someone whispering the name of this amazing holiday.
Ayami tilted her head sideways as she glanced around the mossy clearing she had spent most her life so far. It had been some time since the others were kits, if they even grew up here. She mentally noted her advantage of pretty much knowing every single rock and stick. This was gonna be cake. Her long tail swished in excitement as she lifted her rump from the ground. Within seconds she began to briskly pad around camp. Mossy optics began scan every rock, stump and branch she came upon.
So focused on her intent, the plastic bat hanging above from a branch almost went unnoticed. If it hadn't been for her eager tail standing on end and brushing the toy with the tip, she might not have hopped an inch of the ground in sheer terror. With a hiss she spun around to face her attacker to find.. nothing? She titled her head in confusion and peered upwards to find her, er, pursuer. The tiny bengal growled and sprang at the creature in a fury, snapping the string that held it up. Success.

Ayami had been watching the scene unfold upside down, just her head that was, the rest of her sprawled out to the side. It gave a rather eerie appearance to the world, as if they lived in the sky. Of course, that wasn't a hard thought for her and her siblings. Now that she thought about it, none of them had tried their wings out yet! As thoughts of learning to fly raced through her mind, her stomach began to churn. The only thought residing, seeming to be printed in large letters in her brain "What if they don't work?" And with that Aya closed her eyes and pushed the thought out and away with a few small breaths.
"I'm glad I'm not the only one who saw that," came an intriguing voice. With a small chirp, Ayami rolled her head off the ground. She opened her optics to reveal large and curiously searching pupils. They settled on a very large and seemingly endless pelt of long, black fur. Her small smile grew as her head tilted upwards, taking in the sheer size of this guy, and lovin' every bit of him. The tiny kit giggles joined Koday's as their eyes met. Even as the dire wolf directed his attention elsewhere, her unfaltering gaze continued look upon the other as if she had never seen anyone so big! Well, okay, of course she had seen him before, but she'd never been so close.
"Yeah, I like you." she grinned, her eyes bright with interest. Due to her obsession with Koday, she hadn't noticed the other large wolf that made an appearance until her mother thanked him. Ayami turned her eye to see whom exactly she was thanking. Another. Wolf. Was she cursed to be small or something? Would she be that big when she grew up? Oh she hoped so!
Listening to her mothers words, her mind wandered, as often kittens minds do. What was the exact reason they couldn't talk to each other? There had to be a way - right? She was talking to a wold, wasn't she? Her questions began to multiply within her mind. Soon she couldn't help herself but bombard her mother with them all. After all, she knew everything.
"Mama, will I be that big one day? And why can't we talk to frogs? We can talk to wolves! That's not fair!"

The sun shined brilliantly through a kaleidoscope of dark green, brown, red, burnt orange and slightly yellowed leaves from a single tree of the marsh. The kit lay upside down so she could observe the wind whispering through the branches and tugging at the leaves, begging them to embark on a journey. Ayami silently hoped they would all agree at once, excitedly being carried by their new friend, the wind, to their new home on the ground.
Nearby, a large pile of fallen leaves rose above the sea of grass and left a jagged out crop of the pink and yellow sky. Her raking instrument had been a long branch with a forked end that had several smaller twigs jutting out in all directions. It was perfectly used if she held the opposite end in her mouth and dragged it behind her, the sharp, odd ends piercing the leaves. Sometimes they were difficult to get off, but hey - it was all she had, okay?
Ayami's legs tensed straight up, and she nearly squealed in delight as a gust of wind tore through the tree and stole dozens of leaves. Rolling over to her belly, the marbled bengal sprung to her paws and took off after them. The kit laughed as she ran through the gust, leaping after the leaves in a desperate attempt to catch a few. Each time her little legs bounced, the wings on her back pushed downward in an attempt to boost her higher.
She was successful at chomping on three leaves and she held them in her mouth proudly. As the wind died and the leaves settled on the ground the she-kit turned her new direction back towards the pile. Ayami increased her speed and leaped at the last moment. Her tiny body was instantly enveloped in leaves. It seemed to her as if the leaves never ended, sprawling out in all directions around her.
All that could be seen was a large pile a leaves with a tiny something frantically shuffling around within it - almost in circles.

Ayami accepted the poke with a laugh, enjoying the other’s company. Unlike her brothers, this male was the first fun one she had encountered in her life. Okay, maybe she was being slightly harsh. The kit enjoyed being around her brothers, they made her feel safe and welcome - always. Sometimes.. they were a little too serious for the lighthearted child. They were children after all, and she didn’t mind one bit acting as such. Aya’s free spirited mind would hold fast against most potentially mind-altering situations life would throw at her.
The marbled bengal’s eyebrows rose with obvious interest and her little jaw slacked slightly for dramatic effect. Possession? Shape-shifting? What else did this world have to offer? Ayami didn’t fully comprehend either terms but she had a pretty just idea of the two. She assumed both would change her body into another’s. Shape shifting was more straight forward but.. did she have to capture somebody to posses them? Perhaps make them submit to something? Probably not, that sounded weird and a little too forceful for her. Surely Mother would know!
Just as another load of questions was about to be dropped on the mom who was already stretched so thin, her new friend unveiled a surprise. Instant height? A chance to gloat to her brothers about superiority? How could she ever turn that down?
“Yes please!” She chirped excitedly before clambering up and into the large wolf’s clutches. Soaring higher, she was presented to his head and gingerly tested it with a few taps of her tiny paw. As soon as it was deemed stable she quickly made her self comfortable by taking a seat and puffing her chest out proudly. She blew some teasing raspberries at her siblings before looking to their mother.
“Look at me, Mother!” Aya boasted. Then she remembered her questions and suddenly they needed answers. Also remembering that she also had other siblings that probably needed attention, she settled with, “Mother, do you know everything?”

Aya has seen her brother fall from his attempted flight, but she had never smelt blood before. The small kit didn’t know he had injured himself, so to her he was just getting back on the buckin’ horse. Quite frankly she was proud of her Deshi for his determination and wanted a taste for herself.
From the depths of the sea of grass, her bengal pelt became visible as she began her bounding forward motion to the tree of interest. The thought of soaring through the air filled her veins with glee and her wings unfurled in.. instinct maybe? Ayami’s claws had just met the bark and her muscles bunched in surprise rather than preparing for the climb. Mother had begun to yell at Deshi, insisting he come down.
She hadn’t specifically said, “Ayami do not climb up there with your brother.” So, the strong willed squirt did just that. Her claws scrambled for foot holds as they carried her to the lowest branch - barely above height of her mother’s tail. As her scolding continued to fly like wildfire, lighting her brother up with every syllable, the words began to register in her mind. Deshi was hurt? They couldn’t fly yet? Why not? Their wings were obviously right there on her back - for flying. Ayami hadn’t been very used to the word ‘no’ and didn’t intend on it having a very big impact on what she was and wasn’t going to do. So, the defiant she-kit perched in her branch - because she could, and in support of her brother! In her mind, they were ready for anything as long as they stuck together. She might even try her own wings out!
-
So focused on her view of the world from new heights, Ayami hadn’t noticed her mom’s furious pursuit. Before she knew it, her claws were no longer digging into bark, but soft and mushy dirt beneath stringy grass. Her gaze was now laid upon the tree she was just in, her brother in the branch and her mother suddenly appear next to him.
She watched helplessly as Mother’s attempt at rescueing her son from himself resulted in the crumpled heap. A horrified expression crossed her face, and her heart sank. But just as panic began to creep in, he stirred and rose to a sitting position. Relief flooded over the small fae. Wings snuggled around her in an attempt of comfort. The whole situation had hit her like a ton of bricks and suddenly she felt remorse. Did she encourage this?
Ayami accepted the lashing of words and punishment with a sunken head. She began to say something along the lines of ‘yes mamma’ when Deshi spoke. The marbled kit couldn’t believe her ears. Sure she was a defiant little turd, but she did not want to imagine what would happen if caught talking back like that!
Ayami didn’t have anything to add. She thought it best keep her mouth shut.

Should they have a thread for their grounding? Since Deshi only plays in seclusion, they could have some bonding time c:

Ayami was currently grounded to her den. The small kit had attempted to follow her brother in his wing discovering journey by jumping out of a tree. It had been a day or so - she didn’t know. The young cambion spent most of her time sleeping and stirring awake with fears of falling from flight. What if she broke a wing? A leg? Was she ever to grow to her full potential in combat or steal or like.. anything? Would she be forced into medicine for the rest of her life? Cursed upon by her injuries? Maybe it wouldn’t be so bad - there were other options. Gardening maybe?
With a yawn and a few blinks to clear her tired optics, the shekit’s speckled fore paws stretched out in front of her. Aya could make out the larger, inner walls of the trunk at the base of a tree in which she resided. What she rendered as unrecognizable, at first, was another kitten - much like her size - silently gazing back. This was no ordinary cat, no, this cat almost had a ghostly figure to them. Their fur pattern and color was slightly visible.. but wasn’t at times. Almost seeming to fade in and out of existence. A smile began to etch itself into their face and suddenly, Ayami’s den was too small - she wanted to leave.
“Boo!” The spirit screeched, trailing off with several giggles. Although, the giggles could hardly be heard over Ayami’s small, but piercingly pitched scream. Her claws scrambled for footholds in her bedding to help propel her forward and out of there! The wide eyed, bushy tailed cambion looked as if she’d seen a ghost! Dark purple wings latched closely to her sides, the little child began to try and calm herself by talking a few deep breaths.

Ayami didn’t particularly know what she was feeling at the moment. She couldn’t believe she had caused all of this! If only she hadn’t encouraged her brother to jump out of the tree again maybe.. just maybe they wouldn’t be grounded. How could the marbled feline listen to her mother tell Aya not to use the wings growing right out of her back? Maybe they did look a bit small but she had thought for sure they’d hold her.. perhaps why the support for Deshi was so strong in that situation.
Was she in here for disobeying because she was curious? Dangerously curious? Oh yeah she liked how that sounded. The cambion slouched in the corner of their hollowed out, tree trunk den. Deep mossy-green eyes cut into the wood before her while her tail represented a similar emotion by uneasily swaying left and right every now and again. Where had Deshi gone? Oh if he left.. she was gonna.. gonna, well give him a piece of her mind that was what! The cambion peeked over her marbled shoulder to get a good look at the entire interior of their home. Aya knew he was good at hiding, but she wasn’t sure if he actually was or not because of his darker color. Her translucent orbs darting to any slight movent in search of her brother. Perhaps she could talk to him about her worries. Or just play it out!

The Bengal kitten slipped her way through the grass. It rose high above her head and hid her figure well, although she did leave a rippling wake, much like that of a boat, that traveled down the ends of the blades. Her delicate pink nose poked out to catch a good whiff of the newcomer. She smelled of strange lands and confidence.
Emerging, Aya’s face broke into a small, warm grin. Jailbreak seemed at ease, for the most part anyways, and that was enough to fill her fleeting responses. She offered the Highlander wide, curious eyes. An event huh? Could she come? Would there be food? Other kits?
“Well, I think that sounds like a pretty good idea!” The little squirt tossed her two sense out there like someone asked for it.
