    It had only been a few days since joining the clan and receiving his warrior name: Panthergaze. It had taken a little while to get used to, but he was finally starting to remember that his name had a second part tacked onto it now. It sounded cool enough, it was just.......so different than everything he was used to. Back in the twolegplace, they didn't bother using names or formalities. You were either a pest or a threat, nothing more. Over time, he had learned to fall somewhere in the gray area on that scale, not exactly dangerous or hostile enough to be considered an enemy but defensive and elusive enough to be avoided by most of the street bullies. Of course he had encountered a few of them on accident, had his fair share of run-ins. He defended himself when he had to but he didn't always win. Many of them weren't too kind to flower-pickers.

    This place was so much different. He no longer needed to walk with his shoulders squared, no need for steely glares or extended claws wherever he went. It was.......calmer. Peaceful. There wasn't so much a focus on violence as there was on family, on sharing things with one another, on star gazing and taking trips to the river. For the first time in moons, Panthergaze was able to relax in the open daylight with a gentle smile, simply enjoying the rays of sun striking his raven fur. He had a pile of flowers, wild grasses, shells, some pretty bits of twoleg metal and rounded glass and live bugs in front of them, a collection of offerings to the clan that had taken him in. Maybe some of them would find the bugs a bit weird......but he thought they were super cool. Shiny beetles, iridescent ones, ones with horns......so many variations. "RiverClan?" he called out, his voice not quite loud enough to ring out across the camp like an authority figure but just loud enough to reach those within the area. "I've got a few things here for you as a thank you. Uh, you can all take what you want." He stepped back, hoping they would like these as much as he did.

    Emeraldpaw was right. They needed to do something but it was hard to tell what that something was. How did they......physically stop a heatwave? "Hmm. If it's really twolegs, then I don't think there's anything StarClan can do. Twolegs are a lost cause." He snorted a bit at that one, fully aware of how stupid the twolegs were. Was this whole thing just some accidental disaster caused by the dumbest creatures known to the forest?

    "But......maybe we can do something to make all of this better. We could use this message from StarClan to get our leaders to work with each other instead of against each other. We're all in a pretty bad state right now, so I think the best thing we can do in all of this is have the clans help each other to solve the problem, y'know?" Hopefully, they wouldn't object to that. He knew some of the clans weren't exactly on good terms with each other right now but he hoped they would suck it up so they didn't all die some awful, fiery heatwave death. "I think we should have a gathering and tell all of the leaders about this. If they know that it was a message sent from StarClan, then maybe they'll be forced to work together, or at least try." He really hoped that they would be on board with this idea. How were they gonna solve a problem if they were all divided?

    sure! who makes?

    I feel like gyre and panther have pretty similar personalities, maybe they could be those friends that are super sarcastic to each other but are still bros no matter what? like, being a jerk but in a friend way, cause they're both too nice to actually be mean kdjskjsj

    It was relieving to know that he wasn't the only one struggling with the task. Panthergaze liked to think that hunting was his best skill, but fishing made that difficult to prove. Maybe if he practiced more, he'd be good at it. He settled down beside Zylah, flicking his tail over his paws and watching the shadows in the river float by. "I've been doing alright. I love it here so far, and everyone is pretty nice. I know things are rough right now though with this heatwave and stuff." Honestly, it bothered him that he couldn't be more of a helpful asset to them in these hard times. He was really itching to master the fishing technique so he could start putting more food on the pile.

    It was then that he heard the reeds part, giving way to their leader. He turned as Gladestar joined them by the riverbank, overhearing the last part where he had admitted he was no good at fishing. Man, that was a little embarrassing. Thankfully, he didn't seem too bothered by it, instead offering them help. "You'd teach us?" He rose to his paws, following to where the other tom had beckoned them with his tail. "Thank you," he said, crouching beside him with eyes and ears curious and alert. "They just move so fast, y'know?" He gave a small sigh, internalizing his frustration and instead focusing on what the leader would say next.

    The sound of coughing and wheezing and Gyrecall's desperate voice came from the bottom of the rocky hill. He scanned the bank with narrowed green eyes until he located the soaking wet apprentice, clearly in pain. He bounded down the slope and landed beside his clanmate, his raven fur flat but his eyes filled with concern. "Keep doing that, I'm gonna get help. I'll be right back." Realizing the severity of the situation, Panthergaze dashed back through the reeds where he had come from, moving as fast as he possibly could.

    // glade   tempeststar.

    i've personally had the best experience in riverclan (everyones super friendly and its not too fast paced)

    also uhhhh if you're looking for any relations, panther here is a loner who just joined riverclan and hes open to pretty much having any long lost family member so yeah c:

    //hey tiny haven't seen you in a long time!! :o its north

    He wasn't exactly expecting such a whirlwind of energy to burst through the camp, wide eyes and a flashy grin, a rumbly purr that could be heard from across the clearing. Man, how were these kids so energetic? Panthergaze was hardly any older than the apprentices, but nobody would ever catch him sprinting around across the island like that. Though, the more he thought about it, the more tree climbing kinda sounded like fun. He rose to his paws and padded over to Daylightpaw, giving his legs a stretch. "I'll come, why not." It was more interesting than just sitting around and sunbathing all day.

    He was a bit shocked when they all seemed to express a similar interest in the pretty objects he had collected. Were these cats more like him than he had thought? He settled down and let them take their pick, only glancing up in surprise when Gladestar gifted him with an object of his own. Panthergaze carefully overturned the feather, watching in awe as the sunlight brought out hues of brilliant, shimmering green. "Wow......uh......thank you!" was all he could say as he turned it over back and forth to watch the colors dance. Something about the leader's words was comforting, as if for the first time in his life, this would be a permanent home.

    Ah, the beetles. Honestly, they were his favorite. "I found 'em on one of the logs near the river. I guess it was warm enough for them to come out." While Lightkit and Needleslip seemed intrigued by the shiny creatures, the look on Princepaw's face was nothing but pure disgust. He stifled a laugh as the housecat-turned-warrior glowered at the bugs with suspicion. "Careful, they might crawl into your nest. Or your fur." Was he trying to freak him out a little? Maybe, but he had to admit that it was pretty funny.

    Following Tempestwing into the clearing, he secretly couldn't help the feeling of guilt that he hadn't yet told them about the secret prophecy meeting only nights before. Panthergaze was going to at some point, but he hadn't figured out how to put all of that cryptic nonsense into words yet. The hollow was familiar to him, although this was only his second time here. From what he had heard, these sorts of meetings could be.......boring. Luckily for him, he had remembered to grab a few of the objects he had collected on the way out from the warrior's den. The RiverClan tom had a few pieces of twoleg scrap metal, twisty bits of wire and shells, just enough for him to be able to carry. He settled down in the moonlit grass, dropping the objects and letting them scatter at his feet. He didn't hesitate before nudging the pieces together with his paw, making some sort of little sculpture on the ground. Maybe this night was gonna be long, but hey, at least he had something to keep him occupied.

    //open for interaction !!

    Winter normally raked its icy claws across the forest and wrapped every living creature in its frigid grasp, leaving nothing but starvation and destruction behind. Panthergaze had grown to hate winter, or leafbare as the clans called it, for it was filled with nothing but dreary gray afternoons and nights of shivering and howling winds. It was almost worse in the twolegplace because of the alley cats and the way they hoarded their resources, became extra violent at the thought of sharing a puddle of water, turned nearly rabid at the sight of a single, scrawny mouse. He had usually found some luck past the borders of the thunderpath, occasionally stealing a bird or two from SkyClan's territory (a secret he would never tell) but still, winter was by no means his favorite.

    At first, the warm days and the return of life to the marshes were fine by him. The less he had to freeze his paws off every time he walked outside, the better. Summer, or greenleaf was his favorite season, and one he looked forward to almost every day. Though not quite as hot, the beating sun and gentle trickling streams over lush grass reminded him of those better times. However, as it grew increasingly hotter and hotter, he began to worry much like the rest of RiverClan. There wasn't enough prey to feed them anymore, and the river was shrinking down slowly but surely. Would their water run out too? There was really no telling.

    His clanmates believed that this was StarClan's punishment. Panthergaze was still sorta new to this religion thing, and he found that concept hard to believe. What the hell could they be punishing them for? Did the dead cats control the weather? As open-minded as he liked to believe he was, he still found himself a bit skeptical. That was why he was shocked to find out that he, of all cats, had been picked along with Frogpaw and Emeraldpaw to deliver this extremely important message to the rest of RiverClan. Honestly, he still thought that StarClan had messed up and had accidentally picked the wrong cat. Why him? He did have to admit that at the meeting, the message did make a lot more sense after he had had the opportunity to discuss it with members of the other clans. It seemed like StarClan was trying to help them. Instead of resorting to fear and violence, they were supposed to band together. He could only hope it would work as well in practice as it did in theory, and that the rest of the clan would be receptive to the idea.

    Standing beside Frogpaw and Emeraldpaw, he thought over his words again carefully. This was a pretty big deal. Though he didn't know too much about the mystical world of prophecies, he did know that they were really rare, and saved for emergency cases. Finally, he decided it was time to speak. "RiverClan, we've got something important to tell you." He waited for a majority of them to assemble before continuing. "The three of us received an important dream recently, about how to save ourselves from this heatwave. StarClan gave us a message, out of the wilting land, cats from every forest and mountain will bloom forth, their journeys intertwined with the survival of their homelands. We were also told to meet cats from the other clans who had received the same dream to talk about it. We figured it out together, that if we're going to get through this, we've all gotta band together instead of staying separated. I think this is what StarClan was trying to tell us all along, that we need to help each other." Wow, he had never talked that much in front of a group of cats, ever. He paused, waiting to see if Frogpaw or Emeraldpaw wanted to add anything to that.

    // the original prophecy thread here ( in case anyone wants to read c: )

    hi SO panther boi here needs some plots. I have a lot in mind for him, specifically about forming more bonds or relationships within the clan.

    - since hes somewhat new and joined riverclan pretty recently, he's still learning about starclan + the code and all other aspects of clan life, so maybe someone could teach him abt all of that?

    - im open to him having an adopted family, maybe a sibling figure or parent figure. he's only 16 moons, so the parent figure would have to be a lot older than him.

    - someone to goof around with and collect spiders and bugs

    - friends??? best friends to lovers??

    - crushes, they can be one sided or mutual but panther could totally use a relationship also hes a bit of a hopeless romantic

    aLSO

    I wanted him at some point to find out he's related to someone within the clans, RiverClan would be the preferred clan but it can be from anywhere. if anyones open to having their character be like, a long lost sibling (or even parent? i dont know) let me know! he was born and raised in the twolegplace with alley cats and rogues for most of his life, so he wouldn't know yet if he was a relative of a clan member.

    You making something with all of this junk?

    The voice piped up from behind him, startling Panthergaze a tiny bit. He hadn't been expecting anyone to sneak up around him, but this was a pretty huge event after all. Cats were all over the place, and this apprentice had just happened to stumble upon the RiverClan warrior with his assorted trinkets. "Yep," was his reply as he finished arranging the bits of metal into a stack, drawing his paw back to prevent the shadow from falling over the shiny surface. Usually, he might have been a tiny bit annoyed that someone was interrupting his work, but tonight was different. This was a social gathering, and he didn't blame Shadepaw for being curious. "Basically, when the moonlight shines directly overhead, all of the colors will scatter all over the place. It's pretty sick. Now we just have to wait a little while." It was a trick he had learned while living in the twolegplace. At night when the moon glowed directly overhead between the narrow gap in the buildings, the light made the twoleg scraps look pretty cool. As Daylightpaw came to sit beside them, he gave a flick of his tail in greeting.

    It wasn't long before the scent of BloodClan hit, a scent that confused him at first. From what his clanmates had explained to him on the way here, BloodClan weren't allowed at gatherings. From the past events that had been recounted to him, Panthergaze could understand why. It was reasonable to not want the violent group shaking things up at a night that was supposed to be for peace and celebration.

    However, this guy was clearly not trying to hide himself, or be discreet in the slightest. The city cat marched across the clearing, an air of arrogance and entitlement about him that Panthergaze found a bit off-putting. It was honestly childish and stupid to stir up this kind of drama for no reason, for he knew that it wouldn't take long for the leaders to notice him and send him back home. "I didn't think a rat would make it this far into the forest," he quipped to the two sitting next to him in a joking manner. Whatever happened, he hoped it stayed peaceful.
