Perhaps Shrivenshade would have been glad to know that, outside of Amour's family, the person who next found the scene was the one who would probably experience the most anguish. Because while their interactions had been limited, and no sign of reciprocation had ever been given, and she herself had never fully understood or acknowledged it, Charlie was - or, I suppose, had been - deeply in love with Amour Darling. Perhaps it had been obvious to her Clanmates before, but her reaction upon finding the corpseless murder scene would be undeniable proof.
It had started with her Super Senses. Now that she had control of them she kept them turned on, despite the exhaustion it caused her; she figured the only way to build up endurance was to suffer through a great deal of pain and weariness. Thus far it was too soon to see any results, but her determination had not flagged. Not yet, anyway. The dark brown tabby had been halfway up a tree somewhat far from the killing; far enough to be out of earshot of normal hearing, but her ears, well...they simply weren't normal. Not anymore. She heard the scuffle and the crack of a tree limb, and was flying through the dense underbrush before she'd even had time to fully comprehend what was going on.
The scent of blood came next, uncommonly strong, and she understood that whoever was bleeding was bleeding a great deal. The green-eyed she-cat snarled under her breath as she ran, clumsy in her new form, desperate, terrified. She shot through a clearing and then bounded into the woods on the other side, and then she found it: blood, so much blood, far beyond what anyone could survive. The heavy stench of the Exiles and some other group she didn't know. And above all - what had once been do sweet and alluring, now corrupted forever by the reek of death and blood - the scent of Amour. When you accounted for the amount of blood, and the clumps of lovely Maltese fur, and the lack of the Head Nightwatcher's presence, well...it was obvious, really.
She came to a stop beside Soundcheck, her eyes burning as they took in the scene. And then - gently, instinctively, nearly gracefully - she toppled over, and began to weep, utterly silent and utterly shattered.
// so sorry to see her go, but I understand! good luck with everything <3
