ASPHODELPAW ;;
-----> Hovering by the medicine den entrance, the male scowled into the den. He hadn’t been specifically told to leave, just to stop yelling, so he was free to stay. Despite his hatred towards Firepaw and disdain of his sister, the male stayed. Partly to keep eye on his sister’s wellbeing, but mostly for another big reason.
He glowered at Lambstar when she looked up to meet his gaze. He waited until he was sure she was finished tending to Fire, before stepping forward, “Lambstar, I’d like you to teach me some basic knowledge if you have the time” he said, his expression never changing but a lot less fiery. As much as he loathed the idea of having to take care of an arse like Fire and Storm, it’d be a lot more useful if he could do more than shove idiots into medicine dens. “Nothing BIG, just enough to keep things under control if your not around,” he would add quickly. The last thing he wanted was for Lamb to think she found herself an ally in him. He still didn’t appreciate her switching ranks on the clan, especially considering medicine cats were in shorter supply than leader candidates.
Admittedly though, watching Lambstar work with herbs sparked a small -A SMALL MIND YOU- interest. Asp loved learning, so of course he’d be curious as to how the usage of plants quickened the mending process.
“Just the basics” he repeated again, just to make sure Lamb didn’t catch on to his curiosity. He wasn’t about to let her in on one of his biggest weaknesses!

-----> //short mobile post agh
Asphodelpaw stepped in front of his leader, “hold on, shouldn’t we bring a few herbs? Just Incase they need treatment right away - say for a bleeding cut or such?” He mewed, annoyed with Lambstar’s unfocused state. She needed to hurry up and get her head on straight! Or at least fake it enough for her clan mates! A panicky leader only causes more panic!

-----> Asphodelpaw let out an offended gasp. “I care! And if you were a truly good apprentice, you would too!” He countered, lashing his long tail. Lifting his chin, he’d then lecture, “cleaning out dens may not be the most glamorous skill to have, but it’s just as important as knowing how to hunt. It teaches an apprentice early on how to be patient, productive and mindful of their peers. For example, making sure there aren’t any thorns in the moss you collected. It takes time, a watchful eye and practice to collect the moss while avoiding clawing the tree and creating splinters!” Passionate, the boy would continue- a proud smile on his features, “not to mention this task is one that makes a good apprentice appreciate what he has. You have a den keeping you warm and a full belly because of the cats around you. Elders especially, who have given their entire lives to making sure you live a good life! The very LEAST you could do is make them a clean nest to honor their hard work!”
Raising a paw, he lectured on, “not to mention these ARE good skills to have! If your ever alone you need to know the best places to gather the best moss! Also making your nest could be the key to life in a deadly situation. The insulation in the way you form your bedding, for example, could keep you warm in a winter night!”
With that done, he’d glare at his sister, “I’m a WAY better hunter than you, so no, you wouldn’t!”

-----> Another apprentice had stubbed his toe. Normally Asphodelpaw didn’t care, but the kid was howling about it being broken and refused to do his work. So annoyed and desperate was he to get away before he killed the kid, that Asp decided to go on the hunt for Lambstar. This time he was going to give her a piece of his mind! This who “where’s the med cat” debacle seriously needed to stop! Lamb needed to get her lazy ass in gear and PICK SOMEONE alreDy!
Spotting the fluffy alabaster under the high rock, the apprentice stormed over to her. “Lambstar for starclan’s sake would you-“
He cut himself off, surprised when he saw her so...so broken.
I mean, he’d seen her cry before but this was.
He took a step back, shooting a look at Slatepaw. He knew without a doubt he’d been one of the ones to cause this.
I mean - it wasn’t that he cared or anything...
He took a step back, then let out a angry huff. Turning away, the apprentice bounded off.
It wasn’t his fault! Sure he bullied Lamb, but only cus she needed to take it! A good leader- one he could TRUST needed to hold her own against any opponent! If she couldn’t stand strong against a clan mate, how could she against an enemy? And enemy CLAN?
But even Asp knew when things were taken too far. Or at least, this time he knew.
Returning a few moments later, he glared at Lambstar. With a huff he placed down a soaking wet moss ball. He hesitated, then nudged it forward. “Crying...uh...it dehydrates you...” shuffling his paws, he bowed his head and scurried back, “I’ll deal with whoever claims to need you - but you better -uh- get well soon” he said, then added with a snap so she wouldn’t think he was going soft, “people are going to think I made you cry and I can’t have that, so hurry and stop”
And with that he turned tail and fled.
Crying mollieswere not his thing.

-----> He narrowed his eyes, looking for an excuse to be mad. He much preferred being angry than amicable, after all. But even though his biggest reason was valid - as apprentices they shouldn’t be eating this early - he wasn’t really feeling it. Perhaps because he was feeling pretty good after that nap. Though he was extremely uncomfortable at the idea of Moonpaw having seen him sleeping...he shook his head.
He blinked when she approached him, her eyes sparkling with something other than disdain or mockery. Amusement- that was new. He leaned away, suspicious of her kindly disposition. “Thanks then, I guess” he responded, still frowning. He paused at her suggestion, then shrugged, “that is actually not a bad idea...Here take the bird, I’ll go grab another prey and come with you” he said, placing the bird at her paws, he bounded off to grab an accompanying piece. Standing beside her, he nodded for her to lead the way

ASPHODELPAW ;;
-----> Asphodelpaw was not inclined to be nice. He didn’t care what people thought of him, or if they liked him. News flash! Everyone around him were imbecile’s! It wasn’t his fault they couldn’t take the truth or their dumb ears were too sensitive towards loud noises. They just needed to toughen up.
Like him.
He was here to serve the code, not tend to the feelings of ever little snowflake in the clan. If anyone had a problem with that, they could go cry to their mommies for all he cared!
But there were some cases where even Asphodelpaw had to wonder if it was truly smart.
He thought about that as he finished up cleaning the last nest in the medicine den. Shaking out the bits of moss stuck to his spiky fur, the boy turned his gaze towards the herb storage. Infuriatingly, he hadn’t been able to get the image of Lambstar’s shaking, sobbing form out of his head.
Now, don’t get Asp wrong here. He doesn’t care for Lamb. He thinks she’s weak and far too emotional. Even after everything was decided, he still thought she didn’t deserve her rank.
That being said, Asphodelpaw had been greatly shaken by what he’d saw.
A painful reminder that Lamb was not much older than him. That she hadn’t really ASKED for this. That she was out of her depth and absolutely no one would ever truly be able to understand her woes.
That she felt truly alone in the world.
Gazing at the herb storage, he uncomfortably mulled over the thought. He wasn’t about to take back anything he had said, or go easy on her...but he would....TRY....to be a bit more patient.
Or at least, more helpful.
“Listen up, I’ve got a patrol i’d Like to form” he announced, stepping into the middle of camp so he could be heard. Technically apprentices didn’t have the authority to gather patrols, but with Blackstorm still healing and Lambstar....resting, this was a special case.
“I was cleaning the medicine den and noticed a couple herb supplies are running low, and since idiots in camp can’t seem to keep themselves safe and green-leaf coming to an end, I think we need to make sure the supply is full”
Clearing his throat, he continued, “I know zilch about what plant is what, but these are the five in biggest need, so try and memorize the appearance as best you can to properly gather them” he nodded to the five herbs laid out at his paws. Burdock root, poppy seeds, marigold, chamomile and horsetail. “Now, who’s up for going on patrol with me?” He asked, eyes flashing with challenge. Daring everyone to say no to him.
It wasn’t that he cared- because he DIDNT!- but...he could try and do more helping than dissing.
Hopefully no one would make the mistake of assuming he was a changed guy though!

-----> Asp followed Moonpaw to the nursery, silent in their approach. Slowly he began to frown, not exited to be here. He wasn’t fond of kits - and of course they weren’t of him. But he was bored and inspired by Moon’s selfless to volunteer so...here he was.
But his mood began to fall further as he watched Moonpaw greet her mother. In turn, Snow completely ignored Asp. He found himself feeling outside looking in. It didn’t help that the oozing affection coming from Snow made his stomach roil unhappily.
Eager to stop this display of familial love, Asp cleared his throat loudly. “If you two want to talk that’s fine, but I’d like to drop this off and leave please,” he said scathingly.

I assumed his name would be pumpkingrin because he's either be a very happy, playful character that brings a grin to people

-----> Asphodelpaw yanwed broadly.
It was the middle of the night and the crickets and moths were taking over. Asp angrily swatted at one as he walked hrough camp, his pale gaze flashing with irritation. Damn these bugs, so loud and annoying...What he wouldn't give to be able to ignore them and go to sleep.
But alas, our hard working asshole was an insomniac.
He just simply thought himself into circles. Planning, making up imaginary arguments and...other stuff just would not stop pestering his sleep-deprived head. Just like these moths and crickets. Loud and spinning around his head, impossible to ignore.
Though he supposed he couldn't complain. He liked the peace and quiet the night times promised.
Though tonight, it seemed he wouldn't be as alone as usual.
Frowning when he spotted the glowing eyes in the nursery, Asp paused in his steps. It should be established by now that he didn't like kittens. hey annoyed the hell out of him, and he wanted absolutely nothing to do with 'em.
But Asphodelpaw was
really freakin'
bored.
"What the hell are you still doing up?" Asp demanded, his voice considerate in it's hushed tone. At least he cared enough to be polite towards the sleeping queens. Still, he wasn't polite enough to keep the glare out of his scowling expression as he came up to stand before Pumpkinkit.

ASPHODELPAW ;;
----->"Charmingpaw, right?" Asphodelpaw questioned, frowning as he approached the blue oriental.
Charmingpaw.
What a dumb freakin' name.
Being born and raised in Thunderclan, he knew almost all the cats his age. So of course he remembered the time Charm appeared in the clan. Details, though, were a hit and miss. He didn't care enough about any of his peers to go out of his way to recall information about them. If Charm's name wasn't so irritatingly ridiculous, Asp would surely not have remembered that much.
So why was he approaching a cat he obviously detested? Simple ; his love for working outweighed his hatred of any and all social situations.
"We're on for a patrol soon. Are you ready?" he would ask, sweeping his gaze over the male's regal disposition. Pretty boy. An obvious peacock like this guy would make for an awful warrior. It was all Asp could do not to curl his lip in anger. No - gotta be polite. the last thing he wanted was to get into trouble for starting ANOTHER fight

ASPHODELPAW ;;
-----> Asphodel was a huge stickler for the rules.
Seriously, this shouldn't be surprising by this point.
But now more than ever did Asp care desperately for the respect of the clan's laws. I mean, with their leader going half mad with stress, their deputy busy trying to manage patrols and his unpredictable brother, and no medicine cat able to assist, the clan was in as big a need for order as ever. What exactly kept the peace in a community? RULES, DUH!
So when Asphodelpaw looked up from cleaning out the medicine den to see Moonpaw wandering out of camp - alone -, you bet your butt he wasn't going to let it slide! And here he'd thought Moonpaw was smart! I mean, c'mon! After what happened with the idiots Stormpaw and Firepaw, as well as Ruby's dumb litter, didn't Moon realize that the "no apprentices out without a superior" was there for a REASON!? At least the previous imbeciles had SOMEONE with them!
Did no one think for one second the dangers lurking out in the forest? How would a inexperienced paw hope to face off against...say...a fox?!
How painfully soon Asp would know the irony to that thought.
Looking around for a nearby warrior, he huffed when he spotted none. Patrols were so skewered lately that of course none were around to help him get Moonpaw back. Guess Asp would have to break the rules himself now. Damn - Moonpaw owed him one!
As Asp bounded out of camp in persuite of the other silver tabby molly, he debated suddenly the point of his actions. Why not just let the idiot get herself killed? That seemed like a good idea to him!
But sadly, he was already following her trail.
Boy was he gonna give her a piece of his mind!
Unfortunately, he didn't get the chance.
Everything happened too quickly.
One second he was stumbling upon Moonpaw, mouth open to yell at her. Next second he was helping her drag a barely conscious Snow back to camp. After that, he was hovering by the medicine den entrance, looking in, numb and confused.
So of course, in his discombobulated state, the first thing he jumped to was a reliable, steady source ; his anger.
"Does is bloody MATTER what happened?! Heal her you dumbass!" Asphodelpaw yelled at firepaw.
Deciding he couldn't just stand by and watch, Asphodel turned to Moonpaw, "help me gather some wet moss - we should clean up as much blood as we can so Firepaw can see where the wounds are and how deep" without waiting for Moonpaw, the silver tabby bounded into the healer's den.
He decided today was gonna suck.

ASPHODELPAW ;;
-----> Asphodel began to question this act of kindness when the first cat to volunteer was not only injured, but one of the idiots he oh-so despised. Why Firepaw thought it smart to come anywhere near Asp was a wonder in it'self. Actually, no, it kinda attested to Asp's assumption that he was missing a few brain cells. Of course, Asp wanted nothing more than to tell the guy to scram...but he doubted he would. Plus, he was the only one who had an actual idea of where to go, so Asp couldn't argue with that.
"Fine," he snarled, "but if you start complaining about your idiotic bite, ill smack you upside he head!"
Turning his grueling gaze upon Dumb's Dumber friend, his scowl did not let up. If Mothpaw though his whisper would save him from Asp's harsh tongue, he was sure to be disappointed.
"It's a PATROL you idiot," he hissed at the other. Firepaw's blood must be tainted with imbecile genes, honestly! "One of the rules, especially for APPRENTICES, is to never go outside of camp without a experienced warrior. Because, after all, we might trip and fall into - say - a rat's nest and get our asses handed to us, " he stared pointedly at Firepaw.
"So we'll be traveling together. Each cat will carry a mouthful of herbs, and we'll return with as many as we can find. Starting with Chamomile," he coninued, then paused thoughtfully, "horsetail isn't a hard one to find, either...but it's pretty close to he river..." his icy hues flashed as he thought about Riverclan. "We'll gather that one next," he growled.
Then, of course, Lambstar of all people had to arrive.
Asphodelpaw's glare didn't relent, but his chest squeezed treacherously.
"yes I mind, very much," Asphodel snapped, irritated with the woman. I mean, Starclan what he hell? The leader looked as fragile as glass! Not to mention she was kinda supposed to keep eye on her warriors while Blackstorm was off doing who knows what. She shouldn't even be out of her den, let alone camp!
But
irritatingly
Asp couldn't bring himself to say no.
"But you leader, and you get to do whatever you want so - fine, whatever," Asphodelpaw sighed, shrugging. Maybe going outside might do her some good. Fresh air and all that.
Not that Asp cared.
He just wanted her to stop looking so annoyingly sad.
"Shut the hell up Charmingpaw, I'm only doing this because i'm bored!" he exclaimed, furious the oriental tom had to make that comment while Lambstar was standing right there. Again, the last thing he needed was for dumb little miss curls to think he was going soft on her dumb self. He was her number one opponent - she better not forget that!
"That's five people - let's hurry up and go before I have to deal with ANOTHER bafoon," Asphodelpaw exclaimed, whirling around and storming out of camp.
