Not much had been going on as of late and the lack of anything had started to cause Suncity to grow rather restless which was never good. Gentle giants as energetic as himself could only remain soft for as long as there was some form of mental stimulation and he figured that if there was little being provided for him to do then there would be no harm in stirring up some fun and happiness himself. Even as a young child, he had put in the effort on multiple occasions to try and make those around him smile and such a trait of determination had not left him even as he grew over time. If anything, it had intensified to the point where he felt near addicted to the rush that accompanied the sight of another in joy due to his own actions. He can not dwell on such things at the moment though when his focus is less on self satisfaction and more on the idea of giving back to the group that had taken him in and allowed him a second chance where he had not been able to comfortable settle elsewhere. Gratitude was the fuel to his fire and that presented itself in the form of a small picnic settling, large hybrid stood, hunched, over the bowls and baskets that had been set out with meticulous care.

"All finished." The words are formed out of pride as he takes a step back to admire his handiwork, careful in his movements to ensure that he does not trip on the blanket and ruin the spread that he has laid out. Unlike a more conventional picnic with typical sandwiches and whatnot, there is an array of small prey foods as well as sweeter options of sweets and chocolates that were safe for those around him to eat. Bowls with some more floral, plant based foods are also set up in consideration for any who may be herbivore. Clearly, a lot of effort had gone into the set up in order to cater for those that he lived with and it had definitely provided him with the satisfaction that he craved, having expended his mental and physical energy on something that would be worthwhile. Pale ruby eyes seem to glimmer in child-like delight as he moves to smooth out the checkered blanket that the food had been laid out on. He can only hope that others will appreciate his efforts as much as he did.

Hearing a call from unfamiliar voice seeking conversation rouses the large hybrid from where he had previously been invested in a light sleep, ears twitching as he lifted his head from his paws to turn and peer at the large draconine male with inquisitive gleam bursting to life in soft ruby eyes. Usually he would have just turned over and fallen back to sleep but that does not seem to be an option here where his intrigue prompts him into action, drawing himself to a standing position with a canine like shake of his body to spray any settled snow from his fur and mane. The sight of Arachnophobia simply make him want to join in the scene even more as the sight of a face that was known to him proved to make him feel more comfortable that he already did, smile toying at the corners of his lips as he bounds over in a light jog.

"I know that three's normally a crowd but I wouldn't mind a bit of casual conversation." gentle giant hums with blithe smile blossoming across his features. Times are currently rather tense and normality is not necessarily something to be expected but he does not mind a bit of a peaceful chat, talkative hybrid really thriving off of being able to have little talks with anyone, be them a known face to him or a complete stranger. Due to his amiable nature, Suncity is prone to striking up a conversation with nearly anyone that is willing to exchange words with him thus leading him to take any opportunity to speak about nothing in particular. Pale wine eyes watch the spiral of white billow from the male's maw, fictional brows quirked upwards in unspoken intrigue, though any silence within the lupine lion mix never remained tame and withheld. "We definitely haven't met before but there's always a first for everything. The name's Suncity, it's a pleasure." he chimes in after momentary quiet, cordial grin plastered across his features.

Truthfully, it was difficult to remember the last time that Rose had been able to say, without a shadow of a doubt, that he was happy. He could barely recall he last time that he had been allowed to smile without second guessing it though that hardly mattered anymore. Especially since he had, unlike many others that he had met on his travels, had never actually lived within a group of collective individuals who had banded together to increase their prospects of survival in a cruel and callous world that fought against that. He had never had the pleasure of being around others for him to even begin to imagine ways in which friendships could bring him solace from his bitter reality. At least, not until he had found out about a rather interesting place that he could not keep away from. The Sanctuary. How exciting.

Cornflower blue eyes sweep across the surroundings in a curious wave, his mind picking up little details of the lands around him such as the light dusting of snow and sprawling meadow lands. Taking a moment to allow it all to register in his mind, the youth sets down his satchel carefully to the side of him, cautious in his movements in order to not allow any of the contents (that being various sweets that he had brought along not only to sate his own sweet tooth but to also give as gifts if they were to accept him) onto the frosty earth. "I bet this looks really nice in spring and summer, now that's something I'd like to see." His words are left open to the frosty air, dispersing free from his lips in a puff of smoke. His prediction is one based on perhaps a more romanticised perspective of the visions of the warmer seasons. Ideas of butterflies waltzing around blooming wildflowers in the warm sunlight and fireflies glowing softly as stark contrast against bitter black backgrounds instantly springing to the forefront of his mind. It's not necessarily bad, and perhaps could prove to be a genuinely accurate assumption. For that to be confirmed however, it seemed that Rose would need to stick around to make sure that he could see it through. "That doesn't sound too hard to stay for that long unless some fuckass makes my life miserable." Rosepaw speaks with a soft smile and softer tone though it's a sharp difference to the actual nature of his spoken words, a common and reoccurring point of interest about him that some would perhaps pick up on if they were to spend enough time around him.

His own words cause him to pause for a few moments, to really think things over. Was what he was presently doing truly the best course of action for him to take? He could have just stayed alone because when he was in solitude, he did not have to deal with the prospects of getting hurt by others. Not all were bad but even the best of people could do bad things if necessary, himself included. It was better to take a risk than life in comfort for the rest of his life, he supposed. Deciding that it's about time for him to stop mulling around idly on the borders, the dark furred feline sucks in a deep breath, allowing the air to fill his lungs before calling out to the muted tones of the wintry meadow. "Hello? How's it going? I'm here to join!"

//it's nearly midnight here so i apologise for the slight messiness!

Control and happiness scarcely seemed to go hand in hand, so maybe it was foolish for him to wish to obtain both in a world that demanded sacrifice at every turn. For the time being, it seemed that the easier path to take would to be to at least seem happy, regardless of the reality of the situation. Flashed smile glows radiant across his features as he regards this stranger through cornflower eyes brightly coloured in shades of amicability, a sense of curiosity as a lingering ghost in the background of his expression. It was all of the innocent childishness that accompanied vibrant youth such as himself, Rose acting as a lighthouse beacon to guide strangers to the safe shores of his companionship. Perhaps it was a warning, though. A guide to bring them to their jagged rock face demise as the consequence of his own doing. Screaming sirens to say, do not grow attached to one that is not worthy, to one that can barely comprehend the world around him let alone the weight of connections.

Filling his lungs with a deep gulp of air, any thoughts of potential negativity are brushed off as quickly as they begin to arise as the dark furred feline focuses his attentions on the female that has drawn near and not any of the background noise threatening to become distinct voices within his mind. "Well, that was way easier than I expected. My name's Rosepaw, I'll spare you the last names since I can barely remember them myself. What about you?" He hums in soft tones with a small laugh resonating throughout him, clinking wind chimes on his tongue. The feline takes a moment to peer up at the larger being, appearing rather distracted as if searching her face for something. Familiarity, perhaps, or even just a glimmer of comfort.

It does not take him long to realise that he is forgetting something, however, and his focus is near immediately pulled away from the female back onto the matter at hand. "Ah, shit, right. I brought some sweets along too, to celebrate my joining. I'll be really damn hurt if you don't take anything." Profanity is barely acknowledgeable when uttered from his mouth, mingling with another soft chuckle as it spilt from his maw as casually as a greeting or farewell. Careful to not step on his cape, not willing to make a fool out of himself so soon by tripping over the green fabric fastened at his neck, the boy busies himself with picking up his satchel, taking it between his teeth and moving it so that it sits in front of him. Various candies, perhaps more suited to his own preferences, fill the bag nearly to the brim which truthfully was an odd travelling choice, even if he were just a child. Harmless as it was, all of the flavoured lollipops and gummy sweets perhaps hinted towards something more. Rose was far from addicted, though. At least, he thought so. "I'm just kidding, there's no hard feelings if you don't want anything. I've got a lot in there though so take your pick, if you like."

Not much time had passed since Rose had taken it upon himself to venture out of his own life of solitude in order to live amongst others, specifically choosing to reside within the Sanctuary. It was not because he had grown tired of the place, it was in fact quite the opposite. Developing a taste for sweet curiosity against his tongue that was almost as intoxicating as the onslaught of delight that his saccharine sweets brought to him meant that he wanted more. Selfish as it sounded, he wanted to have a larger span of explorable land as well as be given the opportunity to meet beings, who's existences he would have otherwise be oblivious to.

Devotion and home most certainly did still lie in the Sanctuary, though he was more than willing to explore his options and decided to seize the metaphorical bull by the horns once he had discovered that he was allowed to live in multiple places at once, as long as they were tied together through an alliance hence why he was currently coming to stand, idle, at the borders of the rather intriguing sounding Solaris Kingdom. Where others might find that stupid and rather restrictive, Rose understood it completely and could not help but agree greatly with that idea. Perhaps that was a consequence of young warrior's sense of loyalties revolved around the home itself which nowadays did not seem to be as common where most held their allegiance in the people around them and not the place itself. Having grown up thus far with such a mindset, it would have been difficult for him to alter that and since he saw no issue with it, what was the point in attempting to fix something that was not necessarily broken?

"Hello? I'm here to... uh, request a dual alliance?" Pausing after his spoken words, the sweet boy's brows briefly furrow into an expression of contemplation. "Did I word that right? Dual alliance? Eh, fuck it." Brushing the problem off of his shoulders as quickly as it had formed, he turns cornflower blue gaze back onto the lands before him which greatly differ to home sweet home back in the meadows of the sanctuary. First things first, it was much much warmer here in comparison to the snow laden grasslands that he hailed from. Though he felt somewhat of an urge to complain about that, he knew that no amount of bitching about the weather could actually cause it to change. Who had ever heard of the mortal that had bullied whatever was up above into changing things simply because they felt like being a nuisance? He most certainly had not.

"Oh, right!" He calls out seemingly to himself, perking up almost instantly as he recalls the mistake that he had made when first joining the Sanctuary. Failing to state his name and only giving his reasoning behind lingering on the border had not gotten him into any trouble, luckily, and had instead only gotten queries fired at him but he was not going to make the same error here too. To learn from faults was to progress and develop as an individual, even if that was simply in the form of an added statement. "I'm Rosepaw, just call me Rose though, it's easier to remember."

First to approach brings along witty remark alongside her as a fresh spring breeze, whirlwind of amusement gracing him drawing a bright smile to soft lips and light laugh out of his mouth. "You are very right. Well, Rose has a better ring to it than Rosepaw, at least." No offence is taken from the comment, though he did find himself making the mental note to perhaps just introduce himself by his preferred nickname instead of going out of his way to give more of a story about it all. Another mistake that could easily be rectified in his goal to make himself better for those around him, he supposed. "Thanks for the welcome though, glad to be here in the Sandy Solaris State." Alliteration rolls off of his tongue in a jesting manner, playful little smirk pinching the corners of his lips upwards. Boy, that had taken a few moments of panicked though and it's the best he can muster under such time pressure. Honestly, he was rather proud of his minor, rather insignificant remark and that was all that really mattered.

Eyes flitter briefly onto the second individual that approaches, cornflower gaze lingering on the stranger as he listens to her idle remark in relation to the other Solarian's words. "But yeah, I noticed that it's fucking hot here, too. A lot different to the snowy meadows I..." Trailing off as another individual approaches and proceeds to bring up his home, the boy can not help but raise a brow in curiosity. Perhaps it had been foolish of him to assume so, but he had most certainly not expected anyone to actually recognise the place from which he hailed from. At least, not just by catching a whiff of him. Then again, he could hardly think such a thing when considering the fact that the two places were involved in an alliance with each other thus implying that they interacted rather frequently. Rose was not exactly one for using his mind most of the time, however.

"Right, yeah. The snowy meadows of the Sanctuary. How could you tell? Is the scent really that obvious?" Queries are accompanied by the gentle sound of wind chime laughter, growing somewhat flustered as the leader introduces herself and then proceeds to bow slightly. Polite gesture or not, he's most certainly not used to such treatment, paw flying to rub at the back of his neck in a seemingly embarrassed motion. Part of him wants to wave it off though he doubts that such a kind of greeting is going to become a frequent affair so he decides to drop the matter, instead opting to focus on what she had actually said to him. "Ah, it's nice to meet you, Teacuptempest. Jeez, that's a mouthful." The latter part of his words are much more of an afterthought that he had not exactly meant to speak outloud but, typical of him, his mouth ran much much faster than his mind. In fear that he might have unintentionally triggered off some kind of upset with his thoughtless statement, regardless of how harmless he personally believed it to be, he's quick to try and fix any potential damage before he's made too much of a mess of anything. "Not to be rude or anything, miss leader, but d'you mind if I call you Tea or something like that for short because there's no way in hell that I'm going to be able to remember that."

Hopefully, they weren't too touchy in general in this new place because Rose would certainly not last long otherwise. The Sanctuary had been a pleasant surprise in regards to the attitudes of its members however so he figures that, as long as he doesn't do anything extremely out of line, things shouldn't be very difficult for him. Of course, that depended on how he was treated. To quote his own words, things should be fine 'unless some fuckass makes his life miserable'. In the midst of his thoughts, something else quickly dawns on him, the boy's attention swiftly shifting back onto the ragdoll that had strolled over to greet him initially with wide eyes. "Shit, right, speaking of names, I don't think I got yours."

shameless double post that i deeply apologise for but i completely forgot to track with rose i'm just doing that real quick uwu

god,, i'm planning on getting rose to start using a sword at some point so he can at least slightly live up to the warrior part of his face claim and all i can think of is that meme that's like 'while you were busy being heterosexual, i studied the blade' aND I CAN'T STOP LAUGHING OVER HOW THAT'S LEGIT JUST HIM ASJKDFDH

    "A beach party?!"

Loud voice seems to near echo, the dark furred feline near vibrating with pure excitement. He had only just gotten back to the Solaris Kingdom from going back home to see how the Sanctuary were doing and although it was still the midst of winter back there, the kingdom and it's sand laden territory was an entirely other story. It was like some kind of an exotic holiday every time he ventured out to make the trip to his second home and here he was, stumbling back only to hear Tea's announcement. Luckily, he had just gotten into the acceptable range to catch the leader's call. Instantly, all sense of exhaustion or upset seemed to melt from his shoulders, the boy not even stopping to drop his satchel off in his room as he instead approaches the scene where aforementioned 'beach party' is to be taking place.

The sight of strangers, which would have usually unneeded him to at least some small degree, has little to no impact on him in that moment where his mind is much more focused on the prospect of something new and exciting. "Hope you guys don't mind me joining in on the fun." Truthfully, he could care less what they thought about him wanting to partake in the party too. If he wanted to get involved then hell nor high heaven would be able to drag him away and that was that.

It doesn't even cross his mind that it would probably be appropriate to introduce himself to these Solarians, feathery tail swishing in anticipation as he hones in on the water that Tea had, moments before, emerged from with deep desire. Since he had not heard her mention drinks as he had approached when the matter was being discussed, the tunnel vision of his mind had already found something to be occupied by. "I can't swim for shit." The statement is made loosely almost as if it's a fact about him that does not matter at all as eyes of eager cornflower blue size up the sapphire sea in zeal. Tearing his focus off of the ocean, his attention then turns to Teacuptempest, gentle laughter on his tongue rolling free as soft snickering as he speaks up once more. "You've got my back though, right lifeguard leader?"

New to communal life, Rose was still rather uncertain about the frequent rituals that unfolded within the groups thus finding himself rather surprised as dead girl's voice rings through his mind like a rush of blood thundering in his ears. Sharp snap of words causes him to jump, fur bristling only briefly as his attention in violently snapped off of what he had been in the middle of doing onto the fact that the leader was calling out for them to all gather. Hesitant, the dark furred feline follows the voice to its source, cautious curiosity glowering in cornflower eyes as he ears the small congregation. He is, as far as he can tell, not late which is good and an added bonus which is quick to come to the forefront of his mind is the fact that at least here, where all are forced to be grouped in one place, he can at least get to know the faces of his fellow group mates better. With that in mind, he goes about flashing a brief smile towards the familiar face of the leader, the boy sits down with a dainty little flourish of his tail as it curls around to rest over his paws.

Light hum resonates from Rose's throat as the woman speaks, small smile spread out evenly across his youthful features that grows ever so slightly as he hears his own name be uttered. Public greeting brings a delicate flush to his cheeks, fur prickling at the openness in which the leader so boldly states the names of those who were new though he can hardly argue with the gesture, glad that he happened to decide upon joining a group that seemed to be quite friendly for the most part. Yet to have a negative encounter, strongly believed that he had struck gold here, much to his own delight. That simply meant that he would have to work twice as hard to make it up to everyone for being so nice, not wanting it to seem as if he were selfish or disregarding for their overall geniality.

Although not many had arrived to hear what was going on thus far, it did not stop the light "Congratulations." that left the dark furred feline's mouth in a wisp of winter's breath in regards to the mention of one individual being promoted, glancing around briefly in search of anyone who seemed to be particularly surprised or celebratory that he could pin as the new harbringer before bringing his focus back onto Chica, now immersed in the whole meeting thing and thus extremely eager to hear what else she had to say to them.

Fate brings Rose onto the scene as he catches the sound of familiar spitfire tongue called out words that were oh so uncommon to him. There was no burning flare behind the call to attention and it scared him a bit, ears instinctively angled back against his head as he fears the worst when he slips over to stand with lowered head besides Hygge, the familiar face that he seeks out amongst his moutning mixture of curious anxiety. It does not take long for her words to reach him but it certainly does take at the very least a whole minute of silent thought to allow the presented news to sink into his mind.

Disappointment is barely masked as his expression falls suddenly, a sharp and stark contrast to the typical radiance donning the youth's features. Stones clog up his throat, his chest, his veins, and he can hardly think straight. By no means was he close to the female but he had admired the blaze in her eyes and the bite of her whiplash tongue. She demanded respect simply in her breathing and it incited excitement in him because such creatures walking across their land seemed to be rare nowadays, something that he personally could hardly change. Still, to see such a woman stepping down to leave? In some small way, it hurt.

"Oh, um, right." Stumbling over his words slightly, Rose goes quiet for another few moments as if gathering his thoughts as he watches the woman of all of hell's ire and fire blurt out words that make no sense to him in a manner that is oh so typical of Chicagocrimes yet seem so foreign to him at the same time. Perhaps that was for the best though, that he could not even begin to comprehend what she had proclaimed to them past the mention of who would progress onto leadership. "We'll miss you. Good luck with whatever you've gotta do." Boy finally finds some kind of a conclusion to his internal turmoil, forming mention of luck and sorrow intertwined into sweet words that fall as summer rain from his lips. "And congrats to Dream. We're all here to help out." adds young boy, glancing around in search of the newly appointed leader in hopes that they were able to catch his words.

//ahhhh that's understandable pure bby!! we're definitely going to miss chica but I'm glad that you're doing what's best for yourself, ily <33

Rose had not been about as much as he wanted to be. In fact, the boy had barely been about at all, the pressure of maintaining a life between both his first choice of the Sanctuary as well as his additional home over in the Solaris Kingdom had burned him out quite quickly into him attempting to upkeep the relations. It did not mean that he was willing to drop out of communal life altogether though, he had instead just chosen to take a bit of a rest to himself before chucking himself headfirst back into the fun times that accompanied living in a group. What he had most certainly not been expecting, however, was to hear unfamiliar voice call out in meeting tone only to discover that yet another leader was taking up the role. He's not entirely surprised about it in spite of the fact that he can hardly judge the situation for himself because he had not really been around as of late to see what Dream had even done.

Grim as it is, the boy being quick to acknowledge the fact that the role of shepherd within the Sanctuary seemed to be a cursed position seeing how he was already living on his third leader since arriving, he trusts that things will eventually turn around. Sympathy flickers into his eyes as he hears Val's words. Though he was far from well acquainted with the man, he could tell that all of the recent changes were taking their toll on him, especially since Chica's departure. Maybe, Rose'd try to talk to him about it, even though he was well aware of the fact that it was definitely not his place to get caught up in something that did not involve him. Sometimes, it was nice to have a friendly face, one that was not entirely familiar, to share your woes with.

Shrugging it off for the time being, turning cornflower blue gaze onto this new leader with trust gleaming in his eyes that he hopes is not misplaced. Only time will tell. "As long as things get sorted out around here, then that seems fair. I'm at your disposal, Silverlanterns, was it?" He shrugs, a small gesture from the warrior boy before he pivots on his paws and turns to move away with only one last glance over his shoulder. Since he does not know these individuals, he's sure that his remark may come across as rather vague but doesn't intend on wasting his breath at that present moment by building upon it, instead taking the ending of the meeting as his cue to go off and think about what to do and where to go now.

Treat everyone equally, regardless of their age, unless they had acted in some kind of way that implied that they were not necessarily deserving of kindness or respect. It was something that the young warrior believed strongly in so he finds that this strangers somewhat defensive mutter in response is quite a valid one, even if he's certain that their new leader had not intended to ruffle this dude's metaphorical feathers. He finds the whole things somewhat amusing though, unable to keep the smirk from his features as he approaches to stand at the shepherd's side, patiently waiting for the stranger to finish speaking before chiming in with his own input on the matter.

"Where's the nickname Sora come from? There's a big difference between that and your actual name." Curiosity flows free from his lips as he addresses the newcomer with harmless query, amiable smile backing up his words to show that he means no harm by it and is instead just throwing out an innocent question on something that intrigues him. "It's chill if there's no reason or it's something personal behind the name though, don't answer if you don't want to." Personally, he can not say much. He can not remember his real name though he is certain on one thing, that being that it was a lot different to the alias of Rosepaw that he had adopted for himself. So, even if the circumstances are a tad different, he can not help but think back on that and realise that. Sometimes there is no reason for a different name, it's just something that one prefers and there was nothing wrong with that.

"Oh, the name's Rose, by the way, since we're doing intros. Rosepaw but, eh, Rose is just easier and preferred. And you, my friend, are in the Sanctuary." The boy adds his own name into the fray, smile blossoming into an easy grin for a few moments before the radiance subsides back down into a more manageable, bearable expression once more. "So, what can we do for you?"

Rose was uncertain on whether he had ever been blessed with the opportunity to interact with Party in his time within the Sancutary thus far. Maybe he had, maybe he hadn't. Youth's memory was poor though, tainted with constant flow of new events and sights that come to light within his life with every passing day so it's hard for him to remember anything and everything that he's done up until that point in his life. Regardless of their lack of companionship, he could not help but still feel bad to see the man go. He had left his mark on others, Rose did not doubt that, and it was always sad when someone left a place that they had called their home. For him, it must have been difficult to try and stay somewhere where there was so much change, so many that he knew now simply being lingering ghosts in a region that had been drained of the era that had existed prior. In some small way, Rose could not help but feel guilt surrounding that topic. He, after all, was a part of that change, that newness that seemed to always prove to deter others from what they care about.

At least he would not be gone forever though, words of implied promise for the future catching the boy's attention almost instantly to reassure him that they were not all being left behind by yet another and he was instead just dealing with more important things while putting in the effort to maintain relations with them as a group. It was hardly within their right to try and restrict him for their own selfish reasons, especially since the older male held greater responsibility elsewhere. And so, approaching with brows raised, Rose offers a faint smile to the retreating man. All they can do, the best thing that they can do, is to be happy for him and offer support where necessary. That was the right thing to do, Rose was sure of it. "Ah, dude. Good luck with all of that." Pausing, he uses a paw to gesture in the air with a flick as if to emphasise the business that he is addressing before pressing on, "and like she said, you're always welcome back here whenever you want."

Things had been rough as of late and although life was going to improve with the passage of time, he could not help but think that the seconds that he was willing on were drifting by far too slowly. Of course, there was no doubt that he would complain at some point that change had occurred too quickly once something was to actually happen but for the time being, Rose felt that he was allowed to complain about the state that his present reality seemed to be in for now. He had to do better, not for himself but instead for the sake of the Sanctuary. What good could he do to make those around him feel safe and happy when he wasn't even about to help? Perhaps he was putting far too much pressure upon his own shoulders but that was the price to pay for one who was determined to prove himself to the world. Determined to prove that he was better than some good for nothing kid that just fucked around all of the time because the only outcome that he personally could see from living a life like that was an early grave.

It was that resolve that had lead him out of the comfort of where he had been comfortably sleeping in camp to the meadow that particular morning. Light drizzle descended down upon the lands though he could barely feel it as he pulled his cape tighter around him with a safety pin that he had borrowed from one of the other sanctuarian's that he had also found awake in the early morning grey before setting out. He had only really noticed that there was rain once he had stepped up and out of the gaia to actually see the mist like blanket of water but it barely even works to bother him, let alone deter him from getting out and doing something productive. Of course, that means that his head is still rather exposed to the elements and he finds that he must squint slightly to see where he is walking at times when the rain briefly grows heavier before settling down into fine drops once more or when the wind decides to pick up and stop him from walking for a few moments. It is on one of those frequent occasions as the wind buffers him that he happens to catch his leg on something and is sent tumbling.

"Fuck!" All air in his lungs is pushed forcefully out as his back collides rather hard with the ground, head following quick with a rebounded hit against the damp earth. There's no other option than for him to lay there on the wet ground for a few seconds of stunned silence, the rustle of tall grass and distant chirp of birdsong against the drone of sprinkling rain working as effective background noise to the sound of his shaky breaths. For a warrior in training, he's still not got his reflexes down as well as he would have liked them to be, that being reflected through his inability to response quick enough to whatever was going on around him. He's not in danger, at least he would like to believe so since nothing is at his throat tearing out his vocal chords yet, but if the circumstances were different? Who knows what would have happened to him. Although he liked to think that he would not go down without a fight, there was always the chance that he could not respond swiftly enough and it was those few moments in which he had been shocked that could contribute to whether he were to live or die in the future. He really needed to get himself together.

Presently, that was not what mattered. Pulling himself up into a seated position, grimacing at the way that thick clumps of mud cling to his cloak, staining the green fabric in a disgusting brown, he almost forgets to look up at what had caused him to fall in an oh so graceful manner onto the ground. It is when he shifts the focus of his cornflower blue gaze from his own body to what was before him that he actually acknowledges the cause of his drop and is forced back into a surprised state. "Whoa." Barely even breathing, the feline reaches out a paw, touching the cold metal before instinctively withdrawing it at the chill that snapped at him. Uncertain about the origins of the object, he feels as if it is safe to say that he believes it to be a sword, sticking out of the mud in a manner that is both fitting of the glory that it carries as well as sorrowful at the way that it has clearly been mistreated. Never having seen such a thing in real life, he finds it difficult to actually confirm his suspicions though he's read enough fairy tales (or, it would be more accurate to say that he had seen enough picture books of common fairy tales since he was to some degree illiterate) to have a general idea about what it looked like. Such an object of personal myth, here before him. Something that young warrior has wanted for a long time is now here, set out before him as if it were meant for him. Yet, all he can do is stare, pressing a paw against the cool blade once more in disbelief, to make sure that it was still there.

In spite of the fact that there were not too many sanctuarians around, though it was not much of a change from when he had first arrived, those that were still lingering in the skeleton of the once bustling meadow territory failed to disappoint him. Each one, from his own personal perspective, seemed dedicated to their craft be it trying to restore the group to a more known standpoint or to focus on one specific aspect of group life in order to enhance it. As far as he was concerned, his worth was measured in the protection of those around him, his role to play in the grand scheme of things only emphasised by the sword that he had found not too long ago. If he was to do one thing to be remembered for in his time as a living breathing individual, it would be in regards to his ability to keep everyone safe. That was all that he really wanted.

Then, here was one such being that came under that umbrella of those that he wished to look out for simply due to her choice of allegiance to the Sanctuary. One such individual who, in his eyes, seemed so eager to be able to do well and contribute as best as she could and he found it incredibly endearing. Reminiscent of himself in a small way, though he was sure that their actions and behaviours were fulled by very different ideals. Still, he can not help but feel as if it would be nice of him to get involved too, even if it was by doing something that he wouldn't usually do, hence why the dark furred boy carried himself over to the neophyte with twinkle of zeal in cornflower gaze and bright smile curling up the corners of his lips. "I'm definitely down for one, my friend. Fire away"

Unlike Meadowpaw, he held no such connection to the Gaia. Truth be told, he scarcely even acknowledged the tree unless someone were to actively point it out to him in the moment and even then, it did not have enough of a grip over him to keep his attention fixated, his focus always far to quick to drift elsewhere. Perhaps that was, in some small part, due to the fact that he could not hear nor see the spirits that orbited the tree and frequented their beloved meadow so he found it difficult to keep concentration on something that, to him, was not even there. All he saw was a big tree that kept them all sheltered and, for the most part, safe and for that at least he could respect the natural structure because it served a great purpose in their lives.

That is not in the forefront of his mind at that present moment however, the boy instead feeling a wave of panic at the notion that his uncontrolled surprise is sure to draw attention to him which was not what he really wanted to happen. Acknowledging that possibility that someone might have heard him, no shock rises to the surface in regards to the vaguely familiar voice addressing him. It is instead the fact that he is pulled rather sharply out of his absentminded reverie that causes the jittery reaction, the boy jumping slightly as he withdraws his paw from the metal. "Oh, yeah, that was me, sorry." Blurting out words, he whirls around where he is sat to face the speaker, near slipping over once more as a consequence of his sudden movements. Steadying himself, he is quick to flash smile of reassurance in fellow young person's direction to show that nothing serious is wrong in case she was one fo those types that instantly feared for the worst in situations. "I just... took a fall. No big deal, just me being a bit of a dumbass as per usual." Shrugging it off as if it were nothing, he hopes that no one will fire mockery at him for the matter, moving to rub at the back of his neck in an embarrassed manner though he does not get far as to not get more unnecessary mud over himself.

"But hey, look. I found something cool." Perking up visibly as he turned his pale gaze back onto the metal object with glistening fascination in his gaze. He watches the way her gaze moves onto the cause of his tumble with slight grin parting his lips, motioning to it as he speaks up. "It's a sword, at least, I think it is." Certain in his knowledge, the boy gets to his paws in careful movements, clearly apprehensive in fear that he will slip over again and perhaps this time land face first. Luckily for him, nothing terribly happens at it leaves him free to investigate the weapon. Tiling his head to the side, Rose bites down on the hilt and is somewhat surprised by the softness of the leather material wrapping the metal though it does not put him off. If anything, it causes his curiosity to grow, now more certain that it was designed to be wielded by someone instead of some kind of idle plaything. Teeth clamped down moderately hard, he gives it a testing tug with tentative jerk of his head and is left with a frown on his features. It gives way, slightly, though not enough for him to smoothly dislodge it from the ground that it has impaled and for the moment he opts to lean back, brows furrowed as the first few wisps of frustration cross his visage. "Damn, I think it's stuck."

Although it was still somewhat weird to see a new individual up there as the leader over them, though his opinion was rather skewed considering his initial preference to Chica, he was growing more and more used to it. Instead of being surprised on this occasion, Rose finds himself approaching with a bright smile toying at the corners of his lips, flashing the amiable expression up to Silver in wordless greeting to the leader before settling himself off to the side. He had not been around too much, far too busy messing around with his sword to actually find time to get out and be social which was nobody's fault but his own. Still, he was here now and that was all that mattered. Hearing leader mention that Meadowpaw was to be bumped up to a honor was a good sign, the youth immediately thinking of how she most certainly did deserve the promotion as he had discovered her to be a friendly face that was present around the group and eager to interact with all. Some of the other names spoken do not ring a bell within his head but that, again, is his own fault for not going out of his way to greet those that had started to pop up around the group.

Lack of knowledge doesn't stop him from speak up still with a friendly, "Congrats to those promoted!", whilst casting his gaze around the congregation to locate and smile with pride at those who had been given such a good opportunity. He falls silent for the majority of the latter part of the meeting, listening with perked ears as Shepherd speaks of the 'sister clan' relation that they are to have with the Serein Copse. Since he knows little about the other group, he can hardly comment on them or whether that would be an appropriate pairing though, if his memory serves him well enough, he is certain that Silverlanterns was also a member there. They, in that case, could not be that bad hence why no complaints are to be made. Not from him, at least.

A new medical rank in place of Reaper? Briefly, his expression fogged up into one much more dark, a confused frown ghosting across his features and as hard as he tries to pay attention to further mention of the starry night march, the presented idea holds all of his attention. Perhaps that was fine for everyone else however, for those such as himself who had little to no knowledge nor any particular interest in medical orientated responsibilities, he did not like the idea of there not being something there for him to step into if the opportunity ever arose. Heaven knows that he'd be reluctant to step up as a medic, the need to defend physically outweighing the urge to heal though that was primarily because, in his own mind, it was better to prevent any bloodshed on their part so that there were no wounds to tend to in the first place. "Maybe it wouldn't be the best idea to get rid of the Reaper rank. I thought they were supposed to act as the guards of the group so wouldn't it be like taking away a line of defence? Unless Angels were to take up that responsibility too, of course." Query flows quick from his tongue, no ill intent behind it and instead there being genuine curiosity as cornflower blue gaze peered wide and questioning up at the leader. Was he being selfish with such a suggestion, to hold them back from Shepherd's idea because of his own beliefs? Perhaps. It did not stop him from speaking regardless, blinking patiently through the thoughts of doubt that linger in the back of his mind as he awaits the response.
