After receiving the text, Sawyer headed for his car. He had been to the cafe a couple times before but this time felt strange. After he arrived, he quickly headed inside spotting Mackenzie at a table. She looked worried which scared him. He had no idea what news she might give him and he hated that feeling of being unsure.Normally he liked to think of himself as confident but as he walked over to the table, he just felt nervous. He sat down across from her and in an attempt to regain his confidence, he coolly smiled and greeted her with a casual, "Hey."

as the morning sun rose above the horizon, rau was standing watch in the valley the herd called home. the constant threat of humans impeded his mind and he had been wary to let his eyes close even for a moment. the herd was silent with the even breathes of deep sleep but it did little to ease his mind. friends and family had been taken by the humans. his own mother now belonged to the humans and he refused to let it happen to the rest of the herd. he knew what to look for and what to avoid so when the loud galloping of many horses headed towards the valley could be herd, he immediately sprung into action. humans often sent out scouting groups to see where the wild horses roamed and he knew it was one of their tricks. a large whinny erupted from his throat in an effort to awake the others and get them to move to a safer location.

mango implicitly trusted her lead stallion so his deep whinny roused her from her comfortable sleep. she heard the hoof beats that he had alarmed them about and sprung to her feet to go wherever rau chose to lead them. she did not want to be taken by the roundups and knew that he would try his best to prevent it.

sawyer rolled his eyes but went to grab the net regardless. the siren could pose a threat but he was sure that was not on the captain's mind at all. he disagreed with capturing the siren since she was alone, they could simply let her go but he returned to jackie with a large net in hand. looking down, she was very beautiful, colored exotically, he was enamored.

the awakening of the herd was immediate, rau saw the look of worry on their faces and aimed to ease it. he motioned for them to follow him with a swift toss of his head. they would have no choice but to go deeper into the valley, possibly finding a place to hide. he knew they would be much faster than the other horses because they were not controlled by humans. they did not have to carry extra weight and they knew the valley much better than the humans. they needed to move though, and they needed to move now.

sawyer looked inquisitively at the siren, there was something off about her and he searched her expressions for more information. as the captain spoke he chuckled, "new addition to your collection, captain?" unable to find a blanket he grabbed a rug off the ship and half-handed, half-threw it to jackie. he never minded collecting the prisoners, he was part of the crew aboard the Black Pearl and jackie was the captain. he did what she asked of him.

as soon as she said those words, sawyer felt a shock wave go through him. he never expected her to be pregnant. of course he wanted to be there for her and the baby, it was his responsibility but he still felt the need to escape. at that moment he wanted nothing more than to get up, walk out, and forget anything ever happened but he knew he couldn't do that. it was his child too, whether she wanted to keep it or not was her choice. after a moment of awkward silence he spoke up, "i'm not going anywhere. i'm here. whether we know eachother that well or not, i was a part of it, and i'm here for whatever you need."
