Petra blinked twin shock-filled optics at the male. "Oh.." she said, words disappearing as her mind descended into a chaotic dance. Her jaws opened and shut a few times before the dumbstruck lioness was able to respond correctly and a smile melted across her previously pained look expression. "Thank you Jace it's - they're - beautiful." She lowered her head to allow the honey-colored male to slip the delicate chain over her neck. "Since we are giving gifts.." the female trailed off as she retrieved the amulet, shaking off the sand before she displayed the leather-tied loop. If a lion could blush, Petra would have been every shade of red by now. "It's a, uh, 'amulet'. Supposed to protect the wearer."

Petra found herself gravitating towards Jace more and more. Even now, at the garbled voices of strangers and clanmates alike, the alabaster beauty positioned herself beside the amber male. Blue orbs, after grazing over Jace, fell upon the newcomer with mild interest. They got joiners rather often these days, and it was becoming a routine. The questions had already been asked so all that was left to do was wait for his reply.

It felt as though a bucket of icy cold water had been dumped over the alabaster female. She had padded up at the sound of voices, sure that this was to be another average 'can i join' situation. They'd had quite a few just in the last day or two, so why would this be any different? Instead of being greeted on the border by some strange fellow, she was greeted by what was formerly the mirror image of herself.

Its like her world just stopped for a moment as she stared into her own blue eyes. Nothing could have prepared her for this moment. Grief, guilt, sadness and euphoria filled the lioness even as she struggled to express them all. A pain expression was what Crown most likely saw. "Crownpaw?" she finally spoke, her voice a whimper as she stumbled forwards. Towards her son. Would he recognize her? Part of her wanted him to, but a part of her didn't. Maybe it would be easier for him if he just thought she was dead. She'd already caused him, along with her other kids, enough pain.

Petra, upon being promoted to physician and finding out her other team member was now being held captive in the exiles, figured there was no better time to acquaint herself with the nurses she was now charged with. They'd had two battles in a row and that meant plenty of injuries (ranging in severity) would need caring for. She was sure, under Ren's careful eye, they all at least knew the basics. However, the purpose of this meeting was not to teach. That would come later. Instead, she simply wanted to get to know the nurses. Thus, she'd sent out word to all the nurses and asked them to meet her in the Physician pyramid.

Petra arrived on the heels of Bluepaw, blue orbs darting across the scene before her as she took in all that had passed. There was a newcomer sparring with Lucy and then there was the injured one. His name was Beleth, if she remember correctly, and he had only just joined. This was one hell of a first week for the teeth-obsessed male. She eyed the stranger responsible for all of this, ivory incisors bared she spoke, "Kill him,". Though she was a physician now and should not wish harm upon anyone, she was still a Ruiner to her core. The male who'd harmed one of her groupmates needed to pay for his crime.

Her alabaster form crouched beside Beleth, eyeing the considerable damage done to him. Blood had begun to pool around the male and her breathing quickened, mentally going through a list of scenarios - blood running cold in her veins as she realized not many would result in Beleth surviving. She needed to act quickly. So she began packed the male's organs back into their cavity. It was not sanitary in the least bit, and was likely going to end with a nasty infection, but she needed to stop the bleeding or else it wasn't going to matter anyways. When she got him back to the physician pyramid, a much more clean environment, she'd do a more thorough job with him. Her satchel was not filled with a whole ton of supplies, but she did have some fabric that she pulled out to wrap around the male's torso. "This'll have to do for now." she spoke mostly to herself as she readied the male for transport, eyes never leaving the responsible party.

"Oh, Alaksiej!" the aging beauty arrived shortly after Arya came to fetch her. She didn't linger for long to grab a bunch of supplies - just what was absolutely necessary. She hated doing her work out here in the sandy desert. "What happened?" her tone was more severe than she intended, but she was interested in keeping the male conscious. From what she could see, it was a simple knife injury. Not that it made the situation better. Hopefully it hadn't nicked anything important. "Good job with stopping the bleeding, Glitterpaw." This was certainly a teachable moment for the young nurse. "Normally if there is no bleeding it means whatever caused the wound - in this case a knife," she shot the barely conscious warrior a glare at this, wondering what on earth the headstrong male had gotten himself in to. "Is acting like a 'plug'. If you pull it out, make sure you are prepared to deal with the substantial blood loss. Right now he is still bleeding so it's not a very efficient plug, but we'll still wait until we've got him back to the physician pyramid." she ended her little monologue with a flicked look again towards Siej, wondering if he'd fight against her carrying him. "Seij, I'm going to pick you up now. Do not struggle or you'll just make this whole ordeal a lot worse. Can you show that you understand me? Blink your eyes twice, or nod your head?"

"No one is sacrificing anyone right now." Petra, after being retrieved by Radiant, entered the scene with a furrowed brow at Desertsun. "As much as I appreciate you helping, I don't much like those not officially recognized by the King and Queen as physicians, doing the job of one." her tone was neutral as she spoke, maybe he'd take it in stride and ask to be trained as a nurse. Petra didn't much care, so long as he refrained from doing what he was currently doing. She didn't know him and didn't trust his abilities as far as she could throw him.

The white queen turned her attention now upon Graham, her expression softening as she padded closer to the child. "Can you tell me your name, dear?" Her nose wrinkled at the oil the male was administering to her patient, deciding she'd ask him about it later. "Mine is Petra. I am the Sanguine Ruins physician. I'm just going to take a look at you, is that okay?" none of the injuries she saw were life-threatening, so she was intent on making sure the child remained calm - even in the face of her groupmates suggesting they sacrifice the clearly confused Graham. Soon she'd lead him to the physician pyramid so she could tend to his mostly superficial wounds and decide for herself whether he had a concussion or was simply exhibiting the signs due to being exhausted and dehydrated - both common occurrences in the desert.

Petra copied the cougaress, though he face did scrunch up with discomfort at the burning liquid as it slid down her throat. "Anyone. You pick," her mouth felt a bit numb even with just one sip, but she took a second one before passing it back to Lucy. She assumed the drinking would get easier the further along they got, right? That must be how others were willing to partake to the point where they passed out and felt like shit the next day. Thankfully they were all 'experienced drinkers' and never tried to come to her for any poppy seeds or whatever. The female sighed, wondering when the numbing affect of the alcohol would begin to affect her brain. She didn't want to think much anymore. She just wanted to float down a river of emptiness. Was that so much to ask for?

Petra had sat motionless, for the most part. Though her round ears flicked idly to indicate that she was paying attention to this back and forth conversation. The hair along her spine had risen at Sangria's words, anger beginning to burn through her veins, though she remained silent. This was Jace's battle to fight and oh god did she wish he would just say the words Sangria was begging to hear. End the fucking Accord. Who the hell let a pro-clan into what had a long history of being an anti-clan alliance? Oh wait, she already knew the answer to that question.

It wasn't until Marigold spoke that a dangerous smile curved along her maw, pearly white incisors beginning to show. "You know what - you're right. You can't call the Ruins and the Kingdom allies." her voice was tense, like a cord strung too tightly and precariously close to snapping. "In fact, we never should have entered in to an alliance with you to begin with. Did any of you even stop to ask why? Why were two notorious anti-clan's now allied with a fervent pro-clan? Hmm?" the aging lioness prompted the two Kingdom leaders with a daring look in her azure optics. "Don't stress yourselves too hard, the answer is right in front of you." her gaze flew to Sangria, wondering if she would truly have to spell it out for them. Sangria was Nadine's kid. The Penumbra accord was just a conglomerate of all the spawn between Nadine and Ver (though the two were never mutually exclusive, right?), and their respective clans. Merlot dualed here, if she remember correctly, as some sort of physician. As a mother, Petra could respect Nadine for wanting to protect them, but surely Nadine hadn't been blind or stupid enough to believe that every other Ruiner would simply accept the accord? As for bringing gifts and inviting them to events, well, Petra didn't think any self-respecting Ruiner would care to associate with the rather soft kingdom members. Nothing against them, but Petra had been in the Ruins long enough to know that each group's taste in 'party favors' differed radically.

"It's not all about you, my dear." The alabaster beauty turned to Sangria as she spoke, wondering when the young queen would realize how this world worked. "The Sanguine Ruins has always been an anti-clan, and the Kingdom has usually aligned itself on the pro-clan side of things. That means we both have differing views on how the world works. On how people should be punished and what they should be punished for. At the end of the day, our clans have and always will be too different for an alliance to ever be fruitful. It was wishful thinking from the beginning." For now, Petra would give the two leaders along with her own King time to think over her words. At the end of the day, she was sure that now everyone knew where she stood on this topic. The Penumbra Alliance was supposed to be version 2.0 of the Toxic Alliance - an alliance which was comprised of anti-clans, not pro-clans.

"So is this what you needed those jars for?" came the humor-filled reprimand from the ivory lioness as she padded up. Blue optics surveyed the male's handiwork with a gentle smile. "What is all this for, exactly?" he hadn't given her any kind of explanation when he came for the jars, but he also didn't leave time for her to deny him either. Maybe it was because she was starved for love and Genie always had a way of making her feel like she was the only woman in the room. It was an odd reaction for the female, but she was taking it all in stride. It was good to see the Ruins filled with such lively characters. The lithe creature would seat herself beside the male's creation, eager to hear what he planned to do with the structures.

Petra heard Bluepaw's statement in passing, eyes turning to view the young female with a curious glint. She had only recently met Jace's children, and Bluepaw was by far the most unique. Petra had never seen such a devout child, though she shouldn't have expected anything less of Hebe's spawn. In any case, the aging lioness pads up beside jace, pushing her shoulder against his lightly as she eye's his daughter. Her thoughts lined up with his as she'd been through the same with her own children. "It is a beautiful name," her voice was a soft whisper, not really intending for Bluevelvet to hear her. Though this day came as a result of Lola's untimely death, Petra could only hope for the best out of the brave woman.

Petra, as she stood there frozen before the scene of tragedy, could not claim to truly know Bellona. She recalled fleeting memories of a younger version of the woman, during a time very different than the one they were presently in. It felt like a lifetime ago that she'd truly interacted with Lola and this, somehow, made losing her feel even worse. However, her own loss (if you could call it that) paled in comparison to Elian's. Her heart ached for him and their children, though no tears came. She needed to be strong for the regent - she'd never seen him in such a state. He was always the strong and silent type, never giving away many hints as to what was going on in his mind. But now? Now she could see every devastating emotion etched into his body as he cradled his soon-to-be wife. Out of reflex, her own form sought refuge in the warmth of Jace's. The aging lion didn't think she could bare anymore heartbreak at this point. She felt Jace's body seize from his own rare display of emotion, so she presses herself tighter against him, though no tears would come from her azure optics. Petra nudges Jace with her head, eyes searching his, wishing she could take away the pain. But she can't, so she lifts her suddenly tired form and ventures slowly over to Elian's side. "Come now, let's get her cleaned up." she recognized the loss he was feeling, but knew that - if she let him - Elian would stay by Lola's side until her body was eaten away by maggots. No, she needed to help preserve her image as it was before her death. She briefly touched the male's flank with a paw, wondering how much - if any at all - he would protest. She had his best intentions in mind, but grief was a fickle thing.

Emotions threatened to carry the woman away with them, and Petra struggling to root herself to the present; the here and now. "I-i" words, along with any ability to control the tears that now streamed down her face, had escaped her. She swallowed past the lump in her throat, the result being a choking sound. "I've missed you, Crownpaw." she finally managed, barely above a whisper at this point. Petra wanted to scoop the tiger version of herself into a hug that never ended, but she had to remind herself that he wasn't her baby boy any more. He was nearly grown at this point and, to add insult to injury, she didn't want to chance embarrassing him. Though, he was the softest of her children, maybe he wouldn't mind just a little hug?

Petra, worry clear in her blue eyes, positioned herself next to her trainee as the words no mother wanted to hear fell from his lips. Though she could not find fault in him. The Sanctuary clearly wanted war and, after desecrating the grave of their regent's child, a war they would receive. She said nothing to the enraged form of Arya, her reaction not unwarranted. Petra could see herself reacting in a similar fashion had their places been swapped, so instead she rooted herself besides Jace, waiting for some kind of order. She'd do her job and be ready for the wounded to return, but surely he wouldn't let Arya avenge this injustice alone?

Petra, though her body felt weighed down, padded up with as much energy as she could muster. There was too much going on at one time and she was struggling to make sense of it all. "I'll take one, Bluevelvet." she added her voice to the chorus of others as she took a seat in preparation.

The Ruiner had given her the low-down on what to expect, but when she arrived she couldn't stop the heart-wrenching ache she felt for the Regent. It wasn't just about her wounds. Those were the obvious physical injuries that the physician had supplies to mend, but what about the mental and emotional ones? Physician training didn't cover that.

In any case, there was no use in dwelling on what she couldn't do for Arya. Upon closer inspection, Petra was satisfied that she had sustained no life threatening injuries. "Let's get you back to the physician's pyramid. Nothing serious here, but Glitterpaw could use the practice, and you need a quiet place to get some rest." Petra motioned for Glitter, as well as Arya, to follow her - hopefully interupting any questions the oogling Ruiners may have for their Regent. As she made her way to the pyramid she mentally went through the routine, knowing that Glitterpaw would be her paws - she'd hopefully just have to guide him gently through the process of cleaning the wounds and putting a salve on her paws.

When Chardonnay asked her to 'model' for her, Petra was not sure what exactly she had been expecting, but this was not it. However, there was no going back on her word and she had agreed to this. Now that she thought about it, watching as the young hybrid got to work, who could say no to the child? Certainly not Petra - she had a weak spot for children (and her definition of children was very loose).

Determined to be as still as possible, the lioness tried distracting herself. There was much to be done, what with all the raids and clan conflict surrounding them. She was certain her herb supply was good, but perhaps Glitterpaw would like to go out with her to collect more? Ugh, and the physician pyramid could use a bit of cleaning up. Petra never would have predicted this outcome for her - a physician? It meant it was unwise for her to participate in raids, given that she was their only fully-trained one. That was probably the only downside of her new job. Well, that and feeling like every thirty seconds another ruiner was in need of medical attention. She could get used to it though.

Her train of thought was derailed as Chardonnay stepped back and announced she was complete. She offered the youth a beaming smile, finally noticing Elian. "How do I look?" she asked the grumpy regent with a curious tilt to her head. She needed to speak with him sometime about all that had happened, but now was definitely not the time. Returning her blue gaze to the hybrid child, she gentle bowed her head so as not to disturb her new attire. "I'm sure you've done a stunning job. Thank you, Miss Chardonnay." What would Jace think of her new 'look'?
