At the nod, Toxin responded in kind and returned to her usual seat. She followed along with the events listed and the idea of the pumpkin carving event; she could do that easily, though she'd need a few hours to grow the gourds. She half-listened for the next few announcements, relief washing over her features as she realised that Aglaia was going to take her vision seriously. She'd felt touchy lately, hormones unreliable as they had ever been.
"I accept, Aglaia. Thank you." She meowed, and leaped up to sit beside the tigress after a reverent moment had passed. She would then wait to see if anyone had anything to add, or if they would just launch into the discussion. Wait, she had something to add.
"I actually have something to say, a brief announcement of my own. You'll all find out the reason behind it eventually, but my name is changed from Toxicpassion to Toxin of Vibrant Flower. You may still call me Toxi, or Toxin if you wish."

If you had asked Toxin to attend the coronation of a tom in her youth, allies or not, she would have stayed home and do anything but think about the party she was missing. But times had certainly changed, and the newly-promoted Chieftess was among the first of her Tribe to arrive. She had only seen Michael a couple of evenings ago, for another matter entirely, but her expression was one of interest as she looked around the elaborately set up space.
By all standards, the she-cat looked quite striking. Her inky fur was freshly groomed, though ruffled by the wind that swept through the worn paths between the territories of the Highlands and Valhalla. For ceremonial purposes, her bronze dagger was polished and sheathed, strapped to her foreleg with well-loved leather. The silver glimmer of her fiance's necklace could be seen among the white fur of her throat, and tucked into the sheath alongside her knife were two flowers. Two long stems, each topped with a striking orange amaryllis flower.
"One for each of you." She confirmed, passing one to Michael as she approached to greet him. "A congratulations. But I don't recognise your co-leader, this other bloom is his."

Dark paws pressed against the ground, carrying Toxin to the group that had gathered at the border. Her green eyes looked up at the enormous reptile with a sincere lack of fear, and her dark tail twitched. Her heart squeezed painfully as Paperclip's whereabouts were asked; they'd been an item for a short while after Domino's death, which ... technically ... made this male her kin.
"Paperclip is dead." She meowed flatly, voice cold but not hostile. "Has been for years. And this is the Highlands, not RadicalClan, not the Skulls. Go home."
//this is well-timed, there's a jurassic park marathon on tv today oml

"I knew." Toxin meowed smugly, pausing beside Aglaia for a moment before turning tail to go and get ready for the coronation. She had to look her best for the event, after all.

"Wouldn't know. Wouldn't care to tell you if I did." Toxin meowed flatly, again trying to ignore the painful was that her gut twisted at the mention of her adoptive mother Amazonrain. "The Scoppios are scattered across the Clans. But what the hell did they do to deserve your ire?"
Green eyes turned to Sagittarius, and Toxin hook her head. "I'll explain on the way back to camp, once we deal with this ... issue."

The chilly air made patrolling difficult, the sheer mental strain of going outside a difficult feat in the freezing cold of the Meadow's open space. Toxin managed, with some difficulty, to rise each morning and inspect every edge of their lands for intruders or joiners, trusty dagger strapped to her foreleg in case of trouble.
Today was one of the rare days when there was a stranger on their borders, rather than an ambassador or trespasser. She'd scented the stranger a few minutes earlier, but it was their call for attention that drew her own. So, fulfilling her duties as Chieftess, Toxin approached. Her green eyes seemed to flicker, surveying the taller domestic feline with interest.
"Of course." She meowed, golden lip ring shifting as she spoke. "This is the Highlands. I ask your name and business with us." She couldn't discern whether this stranger was a tom, or a she-cat, or something else entirely-- so her guard went up slightly. She was not rude, however, or openly hostile.

Some sort of emotion flashed across Toxin's face at Angel's introduction, something that may have been interest or unease-- but it was hard to tell, quickly smoothed back into her usual mask of polite indifference. "A Tribe name. I thought our kind were all but extinct." She meowed, tail brushing across the grass. Pawsteps alerted her to Gray, and then Sagittarius' presences, and she flicked one ear in greeting to the younger members. "I am Toxin of Vibrant Flower, one of the Chieftesses here. What can you bring to the Highlands, Angel?"

i love gray a lot so far omg, such a cute character with a lot of potential? perhaps he and toxi could have a thread where he stumbles upon her garden?

The she-cat's whiskers twitched with amusement at Chione's half-denial of the injured feline in question being the cub herself. Maybe she would look into that later, just to ensure that the paw had healed properly.
"First of all, we'll start with dressing a graze. It's a common injury in anything from battles to falling down the stairs of the castle." She explained, mostly for Chione's benefit. "Grazes are, typically, an area where the fur and skin has come away; they're shallow and not particularly painful, but inconvenient. However, because they can cover a lot of area, you'll want to keep a careful eye on them so they don't get infected. Everyone got that?"

Toxicpassion had retreated into the shade, working quietly on the plants that didn't require as much sunlight. She'd caught Gray's scent a moment before the cub spoke, and had watched them with narrow green eyes. Just ... to make sure that Echo's child didn't disrupt anything. But it appeared that her worries were unfounded, the kitsune's actions extraordinarily gentle. "That's marigold." She meowed, bringing herself to their attention finally. "They tend to bloom early, in a bunch of colours."

The scene was set, Toxin having asked the aid of a Highlander with fire manipulation. In the garden crackled a warm fire, maintained by a generous helping of dried vines that Toxin herself had supplied. The sun was setting, revealing the cosmos to those who studied them so intently. Shining front and center as always was Astrum, her constant light glimmering in the distance.
"Highlands! We've been quiet for quite a long time, so I suggest we gather around. If you have a story, please, come to listen or tell one of your own." The dark-furred Chieftess' call was loud, authoritative, but not cold as it usually was. She was in a good mood, better than she had felt in a long time. It was a perfect evening to share stories with her family.
// so the rules are this: if you tell a story, you get a badge! i'm still working out the logistics of the actual badge, but they'll be handed out after each story!!!

This would be her first time hosting a meeting, and as such, Toxin was a little apprehensive. Sure, she'd attended plenty before, but being at the head of one was something else entirely. The small she-cat took a deep breath, and hopped up onto the stone that Echo often called the Highlands to attention from; she left room for the other Chieftess, but there was a rush of power that coursed through her limbs at the feeling of being up high like this. They had a few changes to announce, ones that Toxin ran through mentally for a moment before she nodded.
"Highlands! Please gather for this week's news and announcements!" She yowled, hoping her voice would carry across the vicinity.

Toxin found herself engrossed in Chione's story, ears pricked upwards and body language attentive as the cub wove a tale of mist and worms. Perhaps she might tell that story later down the track to her own children. "Bravo." She cheered at the end, turning green eyes on Echo. "Have you got a story to share?"

also, would anyone be interested in a discord server for the tribe? I'm more than happy to make one :>

At Gray's query, Toxin turned towards the kitsune with a nod of affirmation. After casting a quick glance around the group, she noted that the atmosphere was good enough for Echo's youngest to tell a tale, and she gestured for the cub to begin. "Of course, Gray, go ahead."
