  • Refuge

    Chandler kept at a constant pace. The scent of the upcoming winter on the breeze. Wind chilled her silver grey pelt. she blinked her yellow gold eyes as the harshness of the frosty air stung her cold nose. The call of a Raven caught her attention and she slowed down to glare at the bird land not far from where she stood. The bird pecked at a shadow on the ground unaware of the wolf behind him. The smell of blood hit her nose and she knew instantly that it was a young fawn that had fallen victim to the harsh weather. She trotted to the decaying fawn alerting the crow who flew off with a beak full of flesh. The prey was not new however not old enough for have attracted fly's. She ate quickly and hungrily keeping her ears pricked for any sounds.

  • Refuge

    Chandler froze. She heard a twig snap like the bone of a rabbit. It was hard to drain out the smell of the fawn but there was no mistake that there was someone else close by. She closed her eyes briefly to get a clear head and let the scents of the forest engulf her. "Three other wolves are close by". she decided. She had her fill of the fawn and there was a load of it still left. she knew she had to leave it and there was no way she could fight for it now. If she got injured she could possibly fall asleep and not get back up. suppressing a sigh she started to head out into the forest. "What is that?" Chandler thought as she saw a flickering movement. The outline of a wolf was not far ahead and she watched as he seemed to jerk. She froze.

    Chandler flattens her ears as she hears the voice of a second wolf. "they seem to be strangers. They must not know each other" she decided. She slowly circled around to see the other wolf faintly through the brush. She didn't really feel threatened by there presence and she was quite curious to find out more about them. "Is there a pack? just passing by loners?" she found herself wondering. She was not sure that they knew she was there but she stayed silent and alert. She then watched as the wolf started to walk away.
