    Felix

Felix watched as Dual, Waspwing, Minnow (he glanced away upon her arrival), and some Eaglefeather lady he didn’t recognize approach the group. Alright. Nice turnout.

Amber eyes trained on a Jailbird, the boy listened with interest. So. Like.. a raid? On an old two-leg house?

Neat. Maybe he’d find something weird for Elk, or maybe something for himself.Two-leg houses were always full of weird junk.

Rolling his shoulders, the tuxedo nodded. Hunters and Patrollers. Haha, kinda sounded like a forest clan thing. Even though this took on a completely different view on the roles.

Hm. Maybe he’d patrol? It didn’t seem hard, obviously. And he’d get to look around at rooms anyway.

“Sounds good, Mum” the boy grinned.

Felix remembered when the grey female had fought off some nasty rogues. He doubted they’d run into any real trouble, but better safe than sorry, right?

    Are you happy now?

Felix didn’t reply, because he wasn’t sure.

I am. Because you’re never bothering her again, you bastard. You had it coming.

He didn’t say that though. He just blinked at Revolution, and turned away, limping back to the greenhouse where Canary stayed.

He didn’t feel bad for what he did. He didn’t feel guilt. He didn’t feel sympathy.

    He was..

    proud.

“Canary said you passed out because you weren’t eating enough” He mewed, exasperated. “And what do you mean, ‘I wouldn’t get it’? Minnow, you gotta help me understand. I can’t.. I can’t help if I don’t even know why you’re doing this” He mewed indignantly. I don’t understand. I don’t.. understand. Please help me understand.

Though her next comment irritated him further. “I do mean it. He deserved it. I hated him before that anyway. He’s rude and he’s self-inflated and a snob” He mewed bitterly. Was that enough reason to ruin his vision forever?

    Yeah.

Sighing sharply, Felix shook his head.

“Never mind. Forget I said anything” he mewed sharply. He should apologize. Apologize, you selfish runt.

Though her words finally struck a real nerve.

“Are you serious??” He exclaimed, voice raising again. “I’m not. Afraid. To be myself. Around you or not” He grit his teeth.

    A lie. A lie. A lie.

“I don’t want you dead” He mewed. “But I wish you were just somewhere nicer. You don’t belong here” the words were spilling out. “Look at everyone else. And then look at yourself. You’re not happy here!” He exclaimed. “Why are you still here?” Felix sighed, looking at his paws.

Why am I still here? What is wrong with me? I’m being horrible I should say sorry. I’m being unreasonable.

    But Felix was too stubborn.

Felix inhaled sharply, irritation prickling his pelt. “Canary is the clan healer. He doesn’t just make mistakes” The tuxedo sighed. “And even if he did, you’re still not eating enough. Look, I don’t wanna be a total mom or whatever, but you really shouldn’t just.. Never mind. You’re clearly fine without my help.” he mewed dryly, noticing that she was still, obviously, in bad shape. She was unhealthily skinny, and some bones poked out.

And then, oh my god. She had the nerve to bring up.. duckpaw. A sick feeling washed over him, and Felix had to surpress the urge to gag.

“That..that’s different and we both know it” He clenched his jaw tightly, remembering the cinnamon fur mixed with dark dark red. Rev deserved what he got. But.. Duckpaw was just some random dude. There was no justifying what he’d done that day.

Her words. They were getting to him. They struck every nerve he’d hidden away. Every thought that she’d kept to herself. It was all flooding out now. God. She’d probably been thinking this for a long time now.

Felix flinched, after she suggested he could.. kill someone.

I did! I killed someone already!

The secret would stay with him though. He was so angry and sad and upset, he wanted to yell that he had killed someone. Get the hidden secret out and just be done with lies. Lies. This friendship was full of lies.

Amber eyes cold, the guard tensed. “Then that would be my choice, wouldn’t it?” He mewed. You can’t control me.

He felt like he constantly needed to think those words. My life. My choices.

Felix didn’t have to justify himself to Minnow. Why should he?

If I leave, what happens to you?

And after those words left her mouth, Felix didn’t know what to say. Anger slightly subsided, and fear crept in. She wasn’t actually going to..?

It would be better. For both of them. He needed to remember that.

“I become a BloodClanner. Another Baxton” The boy wouldn’t lie. He knew there was no innocent future for him here. “And there’s nothing I can do about that. Nothing you can do about it” he mewed simply.

    Felix

Felix attempted to ignore Minnow’s interaction with Niruka, but it was difficult.

    See? She doesn’t need you.

Whatever. Shaking his thoughts away, the male turned to look at Spirit, whom he’d already found a strong disliking for. Before he could tell the younger female to shut up, his mother told him to be patient, her manner calm and relaxed. Listening to the grey molly, he perked up when she’d called out his name and role. Oh, sweet. Patrolling. He’d wanted to be in that group.

Mood lightening slightly, the tuxedo listened to who might join his group.

The Eaglefeather lady he didn’t recognize.. Aunt Waspwing.. and Spiritkit.

Sighing heavily, the boy gave his mom a ‘Why me’ look, but nodded. Yeah. He could do that.

Before he could say anything though, a bright flash in the sky, followed by a loud rumble caught him off guard.

    Oh. Thunder.

Glancing upwards, he wondered if it would rain. Maybe. Though they’d be in a house, where they’d be sheltered. Two-legs were dumb, but at least they knew how to build their dens.

Following close behind his mother, as the group began to walk, he let his mind wander, amber eyes trailing along the trashed streets.

Felix followed close behind Dual, nodding.

Ugh. Rats. They were such a nuisance. The tuxedo was more than ready to join the patrol and get rid of the damn vermin. And that meant more land.. right? And food if the rats weren’t carrying some disease.

“Sounds good” the tuxedo mewed, glancing at everyone else on the patrol.

    Felix

Felix glanced away after hearing Niruka’s reply.

    That used to be me.

Though Felix did know Dual. He knew Canary. And Indigo. He knew other Bloodclanners. He was fine without Minnow. He was the one protecting her, after all. Right?

Glancing away, the tuxedo noticed that Revolution was tagging along, confused as to what was going on. He looked like he was having a difficult time seeing everything.

    Serves him right.

Felix had loved Ghost. And he tolerated Argente. But the tuxedo found a strong disliking for their son. Which eventually led to a tustle. The guard still carried scars, and so did Revolution.

Dull eyes wandering around, Felix had made a game out of counting the number of beer bottles and soda cans, they were strewn across the streets. It wasn’t fun, but it was something to distract him. One..two..three..

Blinking, the boy turned to look at his mother, who’d offered him a small smile. Felix didn’t dwell on the fact that she was probably sorry for him, and returned the gesture, grateful anyway. She was actually the best. He didn’t need a dad. Just Jailbird. She was always enough.

Turning to face a large fence in their path, Felix scrabbled his way over clumsily, landing on his white paws, and following Jailbird. It didn’t take long before they stood before an enormous structure, towering above the stocky male. It made him feel small.

Clicking his tongue, the male grinned. Wow. There was probably loads of junk in there. It was huge.

The old worn down bricks were chipping, and plants had crawled over the structure, spiraling and twisting around the house. It had an aged beauty to it.

“Nice” his smile widened. “Jackpot, mum”.

    Felix

Felix was feeling like trash. It seemed that’s all he felt these days. Ever since he and Minnow has that argument. He’d always thought she relied on him. But clearly it went both ways.

Amber eyes dull, the tuxedo glanced upwards at whoever had approached him.

ugh. “what’d you want?” he snapped, ears flattening.

He was a mess. He didn’t feel right. He felt like someone else. And it was frustrating as hell.

The guard knew he shouldn’t have lashed out at whoever was there, he didn’t even look up, but he didn’t care. It was hard to care, these days.

    // +AZAZEL+ sorry it’s short AaaA

Felix looked away. “Caledon.. he.. ordered us to capture anyone we saw on the border. Or kill them.” he mewed, fluffing his fur out defensively. The tuxedo knew that deep down, she was right. They were both injuries that each individual would live with forever. He was too upset and stubborn to even dwell on the thought though.

And he wasn’t thinking reasonably. He was just reaching and lashing out, using whatever substance he could to try to prove he was right.

    About what?

Though he didn’t have a moment to think about that, when she asked if that’s what he wanted. Watching the caramel female back away, he hesitated.

Say yes. Say yes. Say yes.

Burning amber eyes dimmed, and the boy looked down. He hated how insecure and unsure he felt. He wished he could just have some future set in stone, written out. He wished he knew how this would play out. He wished he was better. He wished he wasn’t terrible like this.

And he should have just been sure. He should have given her a firm yes.

But he just looked down at his paws.

    “It should be.”

    Felix

Felix happened to be in the general area, aimlessly wandering the two-leg place. There wasn’t necessarily much to do now that he was a guard, Minnow was no longer talking to him, and there just wasn’t at raid or capture or any of that business. He had taken to exploring the strange two-leg structures, in search of something to entertain him, in these moments of tragic boredom.

Maw parted in a yawn, the tuxedo slipped through a worn hole near an old warehouse. He’d been where a couple times before, but not often. It was dusty and old, full of a rotting scent that hung in the air.

Felix sniffed the musty air for the scent of any mice that could be nearby, when he picked up the scent of use mother, instead.

Dull amber eyes alight with surprise and curiosity, the boy glanced around, in search of the grey femme.

“Mum?” he called, his voice echoing off the walls.

Turning a corner around one of the large two-leg crates, the boy grinned, finding the head guard lazing on the cool floor.

“fancy meeting you here” the boy grinned lazily, sitting down nearby. “how’s my favwite pwerson doin?”

    Felix

Felix knew this was his fault. But he was far too stubborn to admit that even to himself. The male only looked away. “okay. bye” the boy murmured, not even putting up a fight.

Maybe he wanted her to go. And he knew she wanted to go. Her excuse didn’t even make sense, since she really probably had nothing else to do at the moment.

Bitterly looking away, the boy sighed. He’d hoped to solve the force driving between them.

But it had only been torn farther

// end thread? also whoo, this is making me so sad, but i can probably develop his eventual ruthless side more :00

Felix glanced up, sighing heavily. Oh. It was Azazel. That kid with the azalea flowers. He was childish and innocent seeming enough. And Felix believed it. Azazel didn’t betray any indication that he was more than met the eye.

Sighing, the boy just narrowed his eyes with slight irritation. His large bushy tail lashed gently, though it still indicated that he was in a foul mood.

“alright. what is it?” he mewed quickly, just wanted to get the boy out of his fur.
