August had been up the entire night. Every time he would try to sleep, he would have an awful nightmare, or just plain be unable to sleep at all. His eyes were half lidded and showed his exhaustion, dark circles under his eyes from having stayed up all night. His window was open and he was sitting in the corner of his bed with his comforter wrapped around him, just looking like a tired and stressed mess. He just wanted to feel safer and more comfortable, but he felt like every time he tried to do something about getting more rest, he just saw blood and Nathan and Jasper, and it just made him feel like shit all over again. He looked to his own still closed door as he heard a different one in the apartment open. He felt so drained, but he had to make sure of something. "...Jasper?" he called out weakly, watching his door for the other to come in. August hoped he hadn't already left. He may look and feel horrible now, but he needed to make sure of some things before he would even consider possibly letting Jasper go anywhere without him in tow.

Milo had spent the rest of the day unpacking his bedroom and getting through most of unpacking the kitchen, only experiencing the occasional cold spot for the rest of the day until it got dark, finding himself rather tired from all the action. He was heading back toward his room when his phone started to ring, pulling it out of his pocket to see a pale brunette woman's face on its screen along with the name "Penny". A tired smile came to his face and he couldn't help but chuckle as he answered it, putting it on speaker phone so he didn't have to have the phone right up against his ear. "Hey, Penny... What's up?" The woman's voice responded almost immediately, the enthusiasm showing through the phone. "Miles Lee Hughes, I thought you were moving out next week, not today! Why didn't you tell me!?"
Miles sighed and opened the door to his room, putting the phone on the bedside table before responding, looking around the room as he did so. He had gotten a shelf in above his head to put some candles on as well as his two rather impressive amethyst and citrine geodes, the shelf practically looking like a little shrine. His bed sheets were a nice grey with soft patterns of pale browns and greens to match the brown hardwood and the beige paint on the walls, making it all look rather uniform and earthy. "You know why I had to lie about that, Penny..." he replied, his tone growing more serious. There was a pause, and he began to undo the buttons in his shirt to get ready for bed when Penny finally spoke again, her own voice losing the playful nature it had before "I know... I just wish you could have told me and Drew at least... We could have come over and helped you unpack." There was another small beat where the two were silent before Penny continued. "Jason was in town looking for you today." Miles froze in the middle of slipping off his shirt, his expression changing to one of genuine fear, staying still like that for a little while before letting out a breath he didn't know he was holding. "...H-He was?" he asked, one hand moving back to cover his nape while his other arm moved to rest across his chest, his hand in a fist over his heart.
OOC: Sorry that I didn't respond to the last OOC lol, I'm really invested in the rp and Ethan XD But I do think it would be quite a good point for them to have exes with the same name. It's all your choice, though.

OOC: Lol, I'm just gonna change the name of Miles' ex to Jacob so there's no more confusion XD
IC:
Miles gave a loud yell at the thump against the wall and crash of the picture frame's glass, almost immediately putting both of his hands over his neck, his legs curling up to his chest and leaving him in a similar position as the ghost against the wall. The loud and sudden noise had startled him, and Penny's voice was calling from the phone, concern dripping from her voice. Milo gave a soft whimper of his own and hesitantly reached out to the phone "I-I'm okay, Penny, I'll call you back tomorrow, I just need to sleep." he replied before hanging up and putting his phone back on the nightstand, his hands now moving to comb through his hair. He gave shaky breaths and tried to calm down, talking to himself again "You're okay, Miles... I-It's okay... He has no way of knowing where you'll be... You're safe..." he whispered, his eyes closed. He stayed like that for a minute or two longer before slowly getting up and reaching into his closet for a broom and dustpan, starting to clean up the glass.
After a little while of being careful not to step on anything and being sure he had gotten every shard, the glass was gone, and the picture was left to sit on the nightstand and be tomorrow's problem. As he went to the wall where it had came from to look at the nail it had fallen from, however, he was unknowingly standing right next to the ghost. He inspected the nail, wondering how the picture could have fallen before waves of sadness and frustration started to come over him, and tears started to form in his eyes, unaware of the way he was picking up the poor boy's emotions. He put a hand over his mouth as he choked back a sob, the tears falling now. Milo hesitated before stepping back and sitting down on the floor with his back against the bed, across from Ethan now. His shirt was now forgotten on the bed and his bullet scar on his shoulder exposed. He shook slightly as he simply stayed there and cried, mumbling to himself between his sobs, but keeping his hands over his mouth as if he were trying to silence himself.

Andrea blushed, seeming a bit embarrassed now. "Yeah... Y-Yeah, you're right... I'm... Goodness, I'm really not prepared for this at all, am I?" she mumbled, starting to look concerned and doubtful of herself. She didn't even know how to cook properly- How would that help her in the wilderness, when she's on the run? She didn't even know how she was going to treat her wounds before Soralyth found her.

OOC: XD The names just kept being used interchangeably as the same and it's confusing. It could still be Jason if that's the one you've actually been using and still want them to be the same??? Idk lmao
Miles cried for a while longer, eventually starting to calm, giving a soft shiver at the cold spot beside him, though he didn't move away from it. He took deep breaths and tried to wipe the tears from his face. He couldn't let his ex catch up to him. Just the thought of him searching his hometown for Milo made him feel so fearful, as if having left one ounce of evidence would allow him to come and do what he pleased. Miles didn't have any strength at all compared to that man, and if he were to come here when he was alone, he'd have no chance of getting away from him. Maybe seclusion wasn't the best choice for him. "Dammit, M-Miles... You're so stupid..." he whispered to himself, running a hand through his hair.
He stayed there for a long while longer, seeming to just wallow there with Ethan unknowingly by his side before finally standing up. Miles continued to strip down for bed until he was just in his boxers, his leg scar now showing as well; It was a jagged cut with what almost looked like marks for stitches as well. It seemed almost a scar you would get for a broken leg, but it was so brutal and horribly cut. He didn't seem to have much of a problem with it now as he walked across the room to turn off the light, closing the door to the bedroom before climbing under the covers of his bed. He laid on his side, his knees curling up somewhat toward his chest, and his hand reaching out for one of the spare pillows, keeping it hugged close with that one arm while the other stayed under the pillow he was using for his head, as if to keep it there. Miles stared at the wall for what seemed like a long time, just staying there in thought before closing his eyes and trying to get some sleep, hoping he wouldn't have to suffer through any of his insomnia or nightmares tonight.

August didn't seem to react as Jasper took his hand in his, too tired to act much against the boy anymore. He didn't want this to go south, but he couldn't let this keep happening either. "Please... Don't leave me today, if you can... I don't want you to hurt anyone else unless it's actually self defense... You've been hurting and killing people without justifiable cause, and I don't want to see it anymore." He looked to his boyfriend and gently squeezed his hand. His eyes, as tired as they were, were almost pleading. "I'm not in any danger... I wasn't in any danger from those people... But you doing this, it hurts me so much, and it makes me feel like you aren't safe!" He whimpered and moved to put his head on Jasper's shoulder, unsure of what he was going to do. Right now, however, he was just tired and drained, and he wanted to get to sleep, be rested. "This whole... Hero thing, I don't think it's even for me, but I feel like if I'm given a power like this, I have to use it to help people, to try and make things easier for someone... But I can't handle all of that blood from you, Jasper."

Maxwell couldn't help but grin, giving a nod. "Alright! Great!" he hesitated, thinking for a moment before giving the other man a questioning look. "What other things are you into?... I mean, other than literature of course. Maybe there's some other things we can both get involved in?" he suggested, pouring himself some coffee as well before putting in an almost surprising amount of sugar and creamer. What could he say? He had a sweet tooth.
Max then leaned against the counter, looking into his coffee as he spoke. "As for myself, I'm obviously into art, and photography's pretty great as well... Hmm... I like to go out and hike sometimes, too, and Dapple seems to take to it." He hesitated before realizing Arden probably didn't know who he was talking about, looking up to him with a bit of embarrassment. "Ah- Yeah, you wouldn't know. Dapple's my dog."
-
Daiana smiled as the man agreed, giving a nod as he agreed to come back. "Alright, great! I hope the rest of your night goes well" She replied before giving a small wave and turning to walk out of the park. She walked for maybe fifteen minutes down dark streets and sidewalks before finally coming back to her house, only to see that some of the lights were still on. She hesitated, staring up at the small one floor house and giving a soft sigh before walking up to the doorstep and stepping inside.
------------
Day had appeared in the park again two nights later, having come around eleven at night, sitting under the same tree she had been under before. She wasn't dressed as warm now, despite the cold of the night air, but she still had a scarf around her neck, wrapped more tightly than last. Her head was hung to the side, her hair hiding her face. She had fallen asleep against the large tree's trunk while waiting.

Danica's eyes widened as she saw long hall, looking back however as she finally heard an alarm be set off. She hesitated before moving behind Shadow and pushing him gently to try and get him to go running as well. "I'm right behind you. Go!" Dan made sure to keep an eye out behind them, following closely behind Shadow.

Andrea looked back up to the dragon shifter in front of her with both surprise and confusion as she offered to help. "You... You would?" she asked. The statement seemed very genuine, almost like a vow. "...I didn't think that a dragon would be so invested in our politics, let alone get involved."

OOC: Bump?
I can do like a few day skip or something if needed lol -
OOC: Track! <3

Conrad had been under the overpass for maybe a half an hour, resting from his long trek across the city. The man's head was leaning back against the metal of a car, his large black backpack and a nail bat beside him. A pair of what almost looked like industrial headphones rested on top of his head, though they simply hid the earplugs he already had in. He was simply staring off in thought when he caught the bleeding man running toward the overpass almost in panic. Conrad stiffened, immediately grabbing his bat and moving to one knee, expecting the other to be speaking that horrific gibberish and looking to kill. When the other man had moved to sit down, however, he realized that he either didn't see him, or wasn't one of those things- though, the answer could be both. Conrad watched him for a few moments as he sat there before making a decision, picking up his backpack as well as he ran to the other side of the overpass.
The freckled man came close and knelt down to try and look Jay in the eyes, tapping the man's leg to be sure he had his attention before pointing up to his own face. His eyes were a bright green and his hair was a dark, curly brown, tied into a small knot at the back of his head, though a few stray hairs had fallen from it. "Can you hear me?" he asked, trying to keep his voice quiet despite not being able to hear himself very well. He didn't want to attract unwanted attention. After a beat, he decided to lift his hands and sign the question as well. It wouldn't be so shocking to him if the other couldn't hear. It seemed that those who were deaf now had the advantage, not having to hear any of the contagious crazed ramblings. Some of the survivors he had met weren't even speaking anymore, having learned sign language, Morse code, or having caught on to reading lips, all to get rid of the risk of taking out their hearing protection to catch what their group is saying.
Conrad slipped his bag off of his shoulder now, setting the bat beside him and digging through the backpack before pulling out a first aid kit and giving a soft motion to the injured man in front of him as he set it down. "I can help you, but it's gonna hurt like hell." he spoke, giving a rough sign translation of the words as well, doing his best to make sure that he could make himself understood, not knowing yet how the other communicated.
OOC: Took a little bit of liberty in explaining some of the now more common forms of communication, hope that's alright ^^'

Andrea blushed at the mention of being shown off as a trophy, though she knew the other meant more so that Andy would be a prize she had one, rather than something precious. "W-Well... If you'll follow the stigma in that sense, then I suppose you'll have to make up a story about snatching me from some tower. Finding me a bit mangled on your doorstep isn't exactly the more charming story." she replied, unable to help a soft giggle before having more of her soup. It really was better than the soup at home.
-
Danica couldn't help but smile as Shadow told her to keep up, not missing a beat as she kept close. As the two up ahead stopped at the door, however, she couldn't help but feel a bit fearful. She couldn't see past them, but she wasn't sure what to make of them stopping. She eventually stopped behind all of them, turning as she saw a guard turn down the hall and yell out that he had found them, glancing over he shoulder at the others. "Are we going or what!?!" she yelled as the guard started barreling toward them.
-
OOC: That's fine! Hope everything's going okay <3

Andrea raised an eyebrow at her as she seemed to refer to her kind as if she wasn't one of them. She then thought of something and seemed more tense. "If you... did take me to one of them, you would make sure they didn't do something to me... right?" she asked, remembering how Soralyth had said other dragons weren't as kind as her.

Day flinched as Sayomi shook her, waking up with a gasp before looking up to him with wide eyes. There was a bruise on her jaw that was barely visible, and it seemed like she was wearing makeup, unlike when they last met. "...S-Sayomi?" She asked, recognizing him, but surprised that she didn't see any wings.
Day slowly stood, wiping at her eyes a bit "I'm sorry, I got here early, a-and I was just waiting for you..."

Aw, yeah, textual D&D!!!
Hiya, I'm Mars, and I'm super interested in this! I've been playing 5e for two or three years now, and homebrew/hodgepodge D&D for 5. I also used to run a gaming club at school and would teach new players how to play the basics of D&D two or three times a year, so if you need any help or someone with experience, I'm totally down for this idea.
