valerie is open for plotting!! she's been arrested for a lot of gang related crimes (assault, possession of drugs/firearms, etc.) and she's part of the janitorial crew.

i'm assuming she'd probably know everyone else in the janitorial crew, roommates, and anyone else she's involved with through her smuggling business.

also this is kinda off topic and i totally didn't notice before, but is vasily based off of villanelle by any chance??

~Krystalkool~ it's cool if he's kinda distant!! i mean val is usually a sarcastic bitch to everyone at first so it'd make sense lol. but i feel like she's an enabler who honestly doesn't care what happens, so she'd probably give him matches and other things that could make fires with ease

peachy. malia could totally be a part of the business then!! maybe they're able to smuggle things through the kitchen?? bc they'd probably get food deliveries (i think?? idk) and they could get contraband through that. if it's okay of course

mesh.  dude omg i love villanelle?? she's such a terrible person but i love her character s O much. she's the whole entire reason i started watching to begin with. i stayed up until 7 am binge watching the show and i have no regrets, i will forever protect villanelle

val isn't the type to judge what people want though so she'd probably happily be vasily's junk food dealer. if vasily is the type to annoy everyone too, i can see her bugging val during their work hours

edit: also anyone is free to interact with her in the rp. hopefully there aren't many mistakes with my post because it's 5 am and i'm awake for some reason

「 my tolerance is going up — and i'm getting numb to the feeling 」

No matter how much time had passed since she first got transferred to Stoneward, Valerie couldn't help but feel slightly annoyed by the guards' daily morning routine of awakening the inmates by screaming various obscenities and carelessly flailing their batons everywhere. Just a few minutes ago, the prison was almost completely silent, but now it was anything but that. The guards' loud voices bounced off the walls and the obnoxious noise of the batons rattling against the metallic cell bars echoed throughout the prison. What was the point in being so extra when the majority of them were already awake? It really did come off as more annoying than it was intimidating.

The brunette released a little huff of air as she stared directly at the cell door. Valerie had been doing this ever since she woke up about twenty minutes ago, actually. Even if the familiar buzzing noise indicating that the cells were unlocked sounded through the hallway, she stayed on the bed when she saw a guard stop to peer at each prisoner in the room. He raised up his baton and banged it against the door before returning to check on the remaining cells. It was only a few seconds after he strolled off that Valerie stood up from her pitiful excuse of a bed and walked over to the door.

It was probably known by now that she wasn't one who stuck around the cell for too long, at least not during the mornings. It wasn't as though Valerie had anything against her roommates or the room itself, but she had something important to do, and her time was limited. The good thing about working in the janitorial crew was that she had a reasonable excuse for roaming around the prison, which gave her some places to secretly store away a number of items in different locations. The bad thing was that after work hours, there was always the possibility of someone finding out about the stashes. After all, consistently patrolling and checking on those areas during their free time would be awfully suspicious and obvious.

Without bothering to greet the two other inmates with her, Valerie slipped through the opening of the door and exited to the halls.

    CAMERON MORGADO REYES

It took a few moments before the brunette finally tilted her head to look down at the shorter girl. She could see shadows on one half of Aimee's face due to the ray of light emitting from her phone ahead of them. It wasn't until now that she was standing right beside her that she actually realized how much smaller Aimee was in comparison. Well, of course there was an obvious difference that anyone could see from taking a quick glance, but Cameron never thought something like that would concern her. From the text she received and what she heard of Lucy's, she could assume that the original sender - whoever that may be - was attempting to pit everyone against each other. Cameron wasn't one who liked to underestimate people without know much, but if this wasn't just some sort of fucked up prank, would Aimee be able to handle herself? She didn't want her or anybody else within the building to have beef with each other all because of a text.

Cameron realized she was staring at Aimee for quite a while now, so she quickly blinked her eyes and looked away. It wasn't her intention at all to accidentally unnerve her by staring her down. "Sorry." Her voice was like a little mutter as she spoke the single word, though she sounded sincere. "I was thinking about something." Luckily, she did hear Aimee's questions in the middle of her trance, so she shrugged before beginning to answer. "It's nothing, really." Cameron didn't think she really needed to be thanked for letting her come along, but she supposed she appreciated the gesture. Though, at a time like this, she would've thought most people would feel comfortable being around more people. At least going off of shitty horror movie logic, there was less that could happen to such a huge group. "Honestly? I have no idea what'll happen if we don't listen." Cameron wanted to say something a little more reassuring, but she wasn't going to lie to Aimee when she was just as clueless. "But, we don't really know who's texting or what they're capable of, so I wouldn't really worry about it for now."

It only took a few more minutes of walking before they finally arrived at one of the side doors exiting out of the school. The brunette approached it and used her hand that wasn't grasping onto her phone to push against it. "Hm. It won't even budge."

    MAIA CHAMBERS

"What's up with you all of a sudden?" The question wasn't aimed to be hostile, but Maia couldn't help but notice that Lucy was speaking a lot more than she usually did. Considering she was the type who usually spoke up to get something or to add in a snarky comment, it was a bit weird that Lucy was trying to strike some conversation instead. It wasn't that Maia minded. In fact, she was a little bit grateful because she would've preferred speaking rather than awkwardly wandering the dark hallways in silence. "I don't really know what this dude wants from us, but I hope he's had enough already. I just want to go home." Maia could hear a few people muttering in agreement behind her. She already had plans to go to that party occurring today, and whatever what was happening now was really getting in the way of it.

Her lips tugged into a little smile before she leaned just slightly closer to the blonde. "You're not scared, are you?" It was obvious from her tone that Maia was just trying to mess with the girl. Joking around made her feel like the atmosphere was less serious and eerie than it actually was. "Not to call you out or anything, but it's usually the people acting all high and mighty who are the most afraid, y'know." The volume of her voice was just a bit louder than a whisper, although it got louder after she let out a chuckle. "But seriously. If we're actually locked in here, what're we supposed to do then?" This time when she spoke, Maia was actually being serious. She didn't want to think about what would happen in that case, but she still felt like it was important enough to be mentioned. "Would we just follow the texts then?" She knew that Lucy specifically told them not to do that, but what other choice did they have? The guy mentioned that it wasn't capable to get out. Hopefully for their own sake, he'd be incorrect.

Once the safety belts were lifted up over their heads, Hana turned to watch as Alex got up. She let the blonde exit out of ride first before following close behind her. She walked with Alex back to the pavement and away from the ride. Her brown eyes followed Alex's fingers as they brushed through her long hair, and instead of answering Alex's question at first, the Japanese woman stayed completely silent. Instead, she stared right at a single strand of blonde hair that was sticking out. Hana took a step forward and gently took the lock between her fingers and quickly pushed it back into place before taking a step away. Then, she glanced down to look at Alex with a small, almost sort of nervous smile. "I'm sorry. That was bothering me a little." It probably would've been a better idea to tell her or at least ask her first, but Hana didn't feel like the German wasn't the type to mind that much. After all, she was comfortable holding hands, so surely poking a hair back into place for a second was nothing.

When Alex held her hand out for her, Hana was honestly feeling weirdly glad that she still wanted to do something as simple as holding hands. Knowing that Alex felt comfortable around her was a huge relief, especially considering how spontaneous their first meeting was. Her smile widened slightly as she slipped her fingers in between Alex's and turned to walk down the sidewalk. Her grasp around the younger woman's hand was light, just in case she wanted to pull away if something happened to interest her. Hana glanced around as they walked down the sidewalk, thinking for a brief moment before finally answering.

Her hand raised up and she pointed up towards the sky. "How about we go there?" Her finger was directed to the ferris wheel in the distance. It was brightly colored by all sorts of lights and looked quite pretty in the darkness. She was sure what could be seen at the top would be even more beautiful. "I'm pretty sure there'll be a crowd when it gets super late in the night, so we should probably go now, right?" Hana asked. Her head tilted just slightly as she looked at Alex. "Unless you wanna do something else. I'm sure there are a lot of other things you could see here too."

    CAMERON MORGADO REYES

Her hands slowly slipped away from the door to give Aimee the opportunity to try to push it open. She watched as the shorter girl leaned against the handle, only to give up a few seconds after, much like Cameron had done herself. Instead of answering Aimee's question at first, she turned away, pointing the light away from the locked exit and over to a classroom door across the hall. "I was actually wondering something similar." She knew that there were some windows coming up along the hall, but there was something specifically within the classrooms that Cameron wanted to check. Some of them happened to have some doors leading into little outdoor areas, though they were blocked by walls. Would those places be left unlocked? It wasn't like there was a way to escape those areas unless someone was capable of climbing up a tall flat wall.

The only noise was the sound of her footsteps as she walked to the door. Her free hand gripped onto the doorknob and she turned it. A bit surprisingly, the door opened with ease. It normally would've been expected for a teacher to lock their doors after leaving the classroom. Cameron didn't express her concerns aloud however and continued into the room. Inside, the lighting was dim from the street lights outside. Still, it was necessary to use the flashlight from her phone to visibly see the items laying around. The only desk that had anything on it was the teacher's. Everything else was neatly put on display on various shelves or counters. There was a single door in the room that probably led to the closet.

The first thing the brunette did was walk over to the windows. She took hold of the edge of it and tried pushing it, but no matter what, it wouldn't unlock. Was every single window in this building locked? How would anyone have the time to do that? "I really don't know what this guy is doing, but I hope he knows that he's a dumbass if he thinks a window is going to stop me." A bit stubbornly, Cameron turned around and walked over to the teacher's desk. She shined the light on it, looking at the different belongings on top of it before picking one of them up. In her hands was a little metallic clock she got from the corner of the wooden table. It was quite heavy in her hands despite it's small size. "Stay back, okay?"

Cameron walked over to the window, stopping when she was standing just a few feet away from it. She raised up her hand that was gripped onto the clock and quickly launched it through the window. A loud crashing noise was created as the clock broke through the glass, followed by a thudding noise of the object falling onto the ground outside. With a little smile finally making way to her face, Cameron gestured over to the broken window with her hand. Shards of glass were scattered over the floor. "See? That was easy. Now you can leave as long as you can fit through." Her tone was a bit sarcastic.

The feeling of her phone vibrating in her hand made Cameron look away from Aimee. A new text was displayed from the unknown number from earlier.

    "I wouldn't suggest doing that."

Cameron rolled her brown eyes and sighed. "Never mind. The bitch said no."

    MAIA CHAMBERS

Maia turned her head to look at Lucy. A very slight smile was on her face as one of her eyebrows quickly quirked up. "Is that really it though?" Her tone was challenging as she spoke. "I'm pretty sure that you said something along the lines of that earlier." She let out an amused chuckle and crossed her arms just slightly, all while still continuing to hold her phone up with the light. "I wouldn't really trust you to be the closest thing to an adult supervisor, either. If anything, I feel like it should be the other way around." Maia felt like she was responsible enough to handle people. She already did that within her own friend group. Lucy, however? Maia didn't really know about Lucy aside from what she was already aware of, but she could say that the blonde was a questionable choice for the supposed supervisor.

Maia looked away from Lucy and back ahead of them. Her shoulders raised up into a little shrug. "Well, I guess it's true that we won't die or anything." Saying that made the brunette feel a little bit better. If there was no risk, then there was no point in following the orders, right? What Lucy mentioned did make a new question appear in her head though. "How do we even know that this dude is still around here though?" If she remembered correctly, the guy did talk about how he could see through all the cameras at some point. That could either mean that he was hanging around the main office or somehow spectating from outside the school. Or, of course, it was likely that the statement might've just been said to scare everyone.

"Oh hey, the door's coming up. We should go check it out."

hey guys! i play anri kobayashi, a bikaku ghoul who works as the body collector/information gatherer for anteiku. she is definitely up for all sorts of plotting!

she would probably be friends or at least acquaintances with most of the other employees at anteiku. i'm up for her knowing ghouls outside of anteiku though and maybe even some humans c:

    pBaCeEc.gif BgKufHv.gif X6JuZr5.gif

「 nothing could ever stop us — from stealing our own place in the sun 」

For once, Anri actually felt quite relaxed as she laid against one of the spare couches in the upper floor of Anteiku. Her phone was clutched in her hand and raised a foot or so above her face. After every few moments taken to read the different writing and text on the screen, she would scroll lower by gently sliding the tip of her thumb against the screen. The room was left dim due to the lack of sunshine outside, and also because of the fact that she hadn't bothered turning on the lights. It was mostly quiet, with the only noise breaking the silence being the loud pattering of the rain against the glass window and the occasional rumbling of thunder. At least, that was the case until she heard a familiar voice calling her from the first floor of the shop.

While releasing a gentle sigh from her lips, Anri clicked the little button along the side of her phone before sliding it into her jacket pocket. She got off the comfortable couch and onto her feet, quickly taking a moment to brush her fingers through her light brown hair before walking over to a nearby door. She grasped onto the handle and turned it open, revealing a set of stairs leading to yet another door. The ghoul walked down them until she was standing in front of the entrance to the first floor. The noise of the door opening could be heard before the brunette shut it behind her. Immediately, Anri could smell the scent of freshly brewed coffee in the air. She looked over at the counter to see Kenji behind it with a happy looking Katsuro taking one of the mugs. Other than the two males and herself, the coffee shop was completely empty, which only reminded her of how awful her luck was sometimes. It always seemed like Anri chose to have the day off from work on the least busiest days.

Within a few moments, she was joining the other two ghouls by the coffee. She took one of the other cups filled with coffee. Instead of taking a sip just yet, she decided to give the hot drink a few moments to cool. She first looked at Kenji, one of her eyebrows raising in a sort of challenging yet playful way. "Slackers? I'm half the reason you're able to run this place." It was obvious from Anri's tone that she was just feigning arrogance. She raised the cup of coffee up to her lips and took a sip, but had to stop herself from spitting it out when she heard what Katsuro uttered. Even she could sense the awkwardness in his comment. "Boss man?" The corners of her lips tugged into a smile and she couldn't help but chuckle. "Were you not able to think of any better nickname?" Her head slightly tilted as she asked.

She set the cup of coffee down on the counter. Her hand reached into her pocket and she slipped her phone out. "Just to temporarily save you from the awkwardness, Katsuro, there is something important you all need to see..." Anri set her phone down on the counter. Displayed on the screen was an article, all about a bunch of Doves who were killed earlier in the day. "I'm sure you know already, but Aogiri is obviously planning something. Be careful of investigators too." Her tone was a lot more serious compared to how cheerful she generally was. However, her usual smile was soon to come back along with her lighthearted tone. "Alright?"

    CAMERON MORGADO REYES

The brunette's brows furrowed for a second before she shrugged. Aimee was definitely right about this unknown man sending the text unusually quickly. She supposed he wasn't lying when he said he had access to the cameras. That only brought up more questions. Where the hell was he? Did this mean that he was serious about the requests he sent out to everyone? What the hell was even the point in this? Instead of answering Aimee's question at first, all Cameron did was tilt her head slightly while gazing at the shorter girl. "Are you okay?" Realistically, the answer from anyone was probably "no". After all, who the hell would want to be locked up in school of all places? Cameron was just starting to become a little bit concerned because something seemed a little bit... off about Aimee. "You look almost like you're waiting for something to jump at you."

It took a moment, but soon there was a little smile on her face. She was just teasing Aimee and hoped it didn't end up sounding condescending instead. After all, it wasn't like she was acting the most normal in this situation either. Being unusually calm and blocking things out just happened to be the way Cameron tended to cope. Currently, there weren't any signs that this would be a huge threat, anyway. She momentarily glanced at the broken window before looking at Aimee. "Who knows what he has planned. I'm kind of tempted to hop out. I literally told my fucking dog I'd be back home soon." People who claimed they didn't speak to their pets at all were just liars. Cameron was starting to feel a little bit bad now, though. She still hadn't even walked him yet and she had no idea when the rest of her family was even going to get home.

Cameron released a little sigh and shook her head. "Just in case, don't actually do anything with that window. You might cut yourself. And then there's the guy too, of course. We don't know if he's serious or not." She finally moved away from where she stood to walk back over to the desk. She began opening the drawers, hoping to find something interesting while digging through them. "I am kind of curious though. A window is broken, but what would happen if you did the same with a camera? Or just blocked it out with a piece of paper?" As Cameron rambled, she shifted her hands through many files that weren't of much concern. The noise of the papers only stopped when she found something hidden beneath them. Slowly, she picked up the object and raised it so Aimee could see.

"A key. Do you think it opens the closet?"

    MAIA CHAMBERS

Judging by the smile that was on Maia's face, it was pretty easy to tell that she was still looking pretty unconvinced. Still, she was at least a little bit glad that Lucy owned up to the fact that she probably wasn't the best talker. Her shoulders raised up into a little shrug. "I don't really know if I'd consider that much of an accomplishment. Most people in the drama club have little to no muscle mass - including me. But good for you, I guess. Be prepared to take out this crazed killer for us." Her tone dripped with sarcasm as she took a little side-glance at Lucy. Where did she even get the idea that there was some murderous psychopath roaming around, anyway? Sure, everything that was happening so far was textbook horror, but it wasn't like anything was confirmed yet. She wanted to at least stay a little bit hopeful in case everything did go to shit.

Unfortunately, Maia wasn't that surprised to find out that the doors were indeed locked. She let out a disappointed sigh, a little frown now present on her face. "I... I don't really know. How can someone lock every door in here that quickly? Maybe we should split up and see if any of them are open?" Truthfully, nothing up to this point made much sense. She wouldn't know why one door out of all of them would miraculously be left open, but maybe it was worth trying? Maia wasn't sure what to do right now, but it wasn't like they had very many options to begin with. "Or... what if we try calling someone? If he's texting us, the service is obviously still working." Maia paused to warily glance around, her voice dropping in volume the next time she spoke.
"I mean... I think he said not to contact anyone, but, what could go wrong if we do? We could just call the police or something."

When Maia heard a little dinging noise from her phone, she looked away from the others and glanced down at the screen. Displayed on it was a new message from the mysterious sender.

    "Don't break the rules."

Maia tilted the screen slightly so that Lucy could see. "It's threatening, but... we don't even know what he's capable of, right?"

    tumblr_o9psl6KSek1u6l0o0o3_250.gif 6SQfLyP.gif tumblr_o9psl6KSek1u6l0o0o5_250.gif

「 my tolerance is going up — and i'm getting numb to the feeling 」

The brunette couldn't say she was entirely surprised when she heard the loud sound of a certain familiar yet unique Russian accent. Within moments, Valerie could feel an arm clinging to her, and all she could do was release a little sigh. Even if there was somewhere she wanted to head to, she still had enough decency to slow down her pace so she wouldn't accidentally end up knocking the blonde over. It was only until a few seconds after the Russian finished speaking that Valerie finally tilted her head to look at her. The expression on her face wasn't exactly happy, although she didn't necessarily look annoyed either. "Good morning to you too, Vasily." Just from the dryness of her tone, it was obvious to tell their already obvious difference in energy levels. Valerie never understood how someone could have so much spirit in a place like this every goddamn day. Especially considering the fact that the blonde was probably here way longer than she had been herself.

"If dealers with violent streaks are your thing, I guess I'm flattered?" Her tone was sarcastic as she spoke, which wasn't surprising for someone like Valerie. One of her eyebrows slowly quirked up in a curious way. "You have something against prison marriages?" In her time locked up, Valerie saw tons of different relationships. It really wasn't even that weird for people to hook up just for protection purposes, but there were those few cases where people actually had mutual feelings... in a good way. Valerie remembered seeing one of her fellow inmates try to make a temporary ring for someone before, but it was just kind of sad. Not because it was made out of gum wrappers, but because it just looked kinda shitty in general. "You should take the opportunities you have. It's not like I'd be able to run away or anything here." The brunette paused for a moment to quickly glance around their surroundings. Yeah, the only place she could really run off to was down a couple of hallways. "With that in mind, you should go have fun sweeping whoever off of whatever."

There was probably a good amount of people who would've simply ignored Vasily's absurd ideas and comments, but Valerie found it more enjoyable to encourage them. It was always pretty interesting and entertaining to hear what the blonde had to say, just because of how... different she was. And Valerie didn't consider it a bad thing. She knew she could stand Vasily more than a lot of "normal" people here. Or maybe she got used to it from their time together during the work hours. Who knew.

Glancing up, she could see the set of doors leading into the cafeteria near the end of the long hallway. "Are you sure you're not here because you want something else from me? Because I'm positive you're not here to ask for my hand in marriage." Slowly, Valerie tilted her head to look at the younger prisoner. It was only then that a smile slowly made way to her face, although there was something about it that almost seemed a little bit challenging.

    CAMERON MORGADO REYES

Cameron nodded her head in agreement and stood back up to her full height with the key. She turned to the closet and pointed the light at the locked door with the phone that was clasped in her other hand. "Well, it's not like I've actually been punished or anything, right? The only 'punishment' I see is that we're all still stuck in this hellhole." She couldn't trust this guy's threats when they were so empty. Nothing even happened to prove that this guy was serious about his ridiculous set of rules. She let out a little huff of air. "Honestly? He can either fuck off or come at me because he can't do shit right now. What's he going to do? Punch me through the screen?" She rolled her brown eyes. Was this still considered a prank? Because Cameron was getting tired of it by now. If this dude had the balls to show his face, Cameron wasn't afraid of literally smacking some sense into this guy for wasting all of their time. She had better things to do than whatever this was.

She headed over to the door and stood in front of it, sliding the key into the doorknob. The fact that it fit was already a good sign, so she wasn't too surprised when the door slid open after she turned the key. Cameron shined the light inside of the closet and was a little bit surprised to see how big it actually was. The wall across from her had another door, which she assumed led to another classroom. She stepped inside and looked around, seeing a few shelves and a couple of boxes on the floor. In one corner was a tall storage cabinet. Cameron decided to first head over to the opposite side, where one of the shelves was. On it were textbooks stacked against each other, which wasn't very surprising, but there was an object on one of the rows that caught her attention. She picked up a flashlight and turned to look at Aimee.

"Maybe this guy is a little bit considerate after all." Her tone was dry and sarcastic as she spoke. Cameron pushed her thumb up against the sliding button, turning the flashlight on. It was actually a lot brighter than what she was expecting. She slid the button back down, causing the closet to become darker again, before holding it out to the shorter girl. "Here, you can have it. Save your phone battery. Just in case."

    MAIA CHAMBERS

A little sigh escaped from her lips before she turned her head to shoot Lucy a look. Her lips were pressed into a thin line and a somewhat serious expression was on the brunette's face. "Well yeah, of course he didn't do anything to you. How would he be able to? It's not like he's here... with us." The new thought made her a little bit hesitant to speak. She wasn't sure how it would be possible, but what if the guy was one of the people in the group with them? Her attention had been on Lucy the whole time, so it wasn't like Maia specifically noticed anyone typing right before the message was sent to the blonde. She was starting to become a little bit suspicious... Was that even reasonable? No, it couldn't be, because he was watching through the cameras, wasn't he? Maia shook her head slightly to clear her thoughts away. This just didn't make any sense.

"Well... what else would we do if we're not looking at the doors?" Maia already knew the answer to that. The other choice they had was to fulfill this guy's tasks, but that was something they were trying to avoid. What would they even get out of doing them, anyway? In fact, why would this benefit the guy who was in charge of this to begin with? If this wasn't just some prank going too far, what was this dude planning? Slowly, she shrugged. "Maybe it's a waste of time, but we don't have anything better to do, right? We should just find a way to kill the time. This guy will get bored and let us go eventually." After a few moments, Maia started to take small steps down the hallway. If anyone wanted to follow after her, it would be easy to catch up. "I don't know if you guys have any better ideas right now, but if you do, you should go ahead and say it before I'm gone. I don't want to stay here much longer."

✦ ✧ ✦ Once the woman was inside, the hand halting the elevator doors from shutting retracted back to her own side. In response to the little "thanks", her head dipped into a brief nod and a small smile made way to her face. She took a step back closer to the edge of the elevator, beginning to lean back against the wall behind her. The woman in the corner had a rather young looking face and features. She was small when it comes to height, perhaps a tiny bit more than average. Her skin was naturally an olive in tone, while her eyes were a dark brown, practically black in color, with hair to match. Her thick hair was a little bit wavy and quite long, ending at her mid-back. Today, her clothing style was simple. She had a black shirt tucked underneath a pair of blue high waisted jeans, and a purposely baggy jacket covering up her arms on top. A curious look was on her face as her head began to tilt ever so slightly.

"Are you new here?" It was the sound of her gentle voice that broke the silence. After a few moments, she slightly shook her head. "Sorry, my name is Marissa. I just don't think I remember seeing you around before." Once her introduction is finished, a small smile broke onto the female's – now known as Marissa's – face. The brunette was never one who knowingly attempted to avoid or ignored the other tenants of the building. She wasn't looking to be buddy-buddy with everyone, but Marissa always thought it was beneficial to make at least some connections. Was she even new? Marissa herself had only been living here for a few months, so it would've been a little awkward if this unknown girl had been a resident even longer.

A soft dinging noise from the elevator was what caused Marissa to glance from the woman to the doors as they came to the ground floor. After a second, they began to slowly open up. Figuring that it would've been odd to stand in there and wait for a response, Marissa took a small step through the doors.

[ i'm hoping my post is alright! sorry if it's a little long. c: ]

✦ ✧ ✦ June Colson. That was definitely a name that the shorter of the two hadn't recalled hearing before. A soft, nearly silent sigh escaped from her lips in relief. Good. So she wasn't some neighbor whose entire presence she had neglected before. With a smile still lingering on her face, she quickly nodded her head in agreement. "Yeah, it's cool to meet you too." It was a statement that she was aware was a little bit dry for conversation, but it seemed like they were both a little low on time. Otherwise, Marissa probably would've questioned her a little about her job at the radio station, maybe even about how well she was doing at the apartments. She stepped outside behind the other female, tilting her head up slightly to glance at the woman. "I'll see you around," she responded a little eagerly. She raised her hand, giving June a final glance before heading in the opposite direction.

    ---

It took quite a couple of hours before Marissa actually reappeared at the apartments. Once getting through the front doors, she headed straight to the elevator. Hanging off her arms were a multitude of grocery bags, all because she was too tired to go back and make a second trip to her car. Would things be easier if she wasn't feeling so lazy? Yeah, probably. But right now, she was prioritizing efficiency over comfort. After stepping into the elevator, she pressed a finger down against one of the buttons, and waited a little bit impatiently. Despite her small size, she was actually quite strong, so it wasn't the actual weight of the bags annoying her. It was mostly the feeling of the bags digging into her skin.

A huff escaped from her lips once the elevator finally opened. Marissa headed across the hall, soon stopping once she came to her door. She gently placed the grocery bags onto the floor before reaching into her pocket, only to feel that they were empty. Shit. Where did her keys go?

[ alright! i'm probably going to try to be a little descriptive then. also, i'll hopefully be getting a faceclaim for marissa soon. ^^ ]

✦ ✧ ✦ Marissa had been so occupied with having an existential crisis that she hadn't actually noticed June approaching her. The sound of her voice made the brunette flinch where she was standing. She turned against her heels to face away from the door and looked at her neighbor. "Oh, hi." Despite how she was feeling on the inside, Marissa's voice was still calm and maybe even a little lighthearted. One of her hands reached up to her dark brown locks of hair, which she gently tucked back behind her ear. June's offer already sounded nice, but Marissa already practically mastered the art of carrying all her groceries at once, unlike any other normal person. Then, there was of course, her other problem.

"Well..." instead of continuing, she paused for a moment to think. She moved one of her hands and gently rubbed at the back of her head. "You see, I would say yes, but I'm in a little bit of a problem." Perhaps carrying all her bags wasn't anything new, but June had already made the effort of coming over. Marissa would've felt a little bit bad immediately rejecting her. "I kinda lost my keys. I think." They weren't in her pockets right now, for sure. There was the possibility they could've been in one of the grocery bags, although she had no idea why she would've tossed them in there of all places. Marissa was still better off checking them, just in case. "But don't worry! I've broken locks before!" She sounded a little bit too sure of herself. Was it breaking and entering if it was her own home? Marissa wasn't sure, but if it was, that sounded kind of stupid in her opinion. "Or I can always call those people."

[ that's totally fine! i just use them for my own characters because it makes it easier for me to picture them. i'm actually probably going to hold off on the faceclaim thing until later though because it's 3 am where i am and i'm just not feeling it right now lol ]
