quinn flicked some dirt out from under her manicured nails, wondering what was taking him so long. finally his voice echoed through the empty alleyway. quinn took this as her signal to get going. she turned around, pushing herself off the wall. her hand subconsciously went to her ribs. that man did punch her pretty hard. elision smiled at her, which was kinda rare? she found herself smiling back, approaching his bike. her boots hit the pavement but made no sound. this girl was very light on her feet. she wasn't deemed 'ninja' for no reason.
"uhm, the one by the tower? it's the closest." she suggested. suddenly an idea popped in her head. "oh please can i drive us there? i swear i won't do anything crazy." she gave eli the best puppy face she could muster. elision looked at her with so much reluctance she was sure she was going to be shot down. but something changed in his expression and actually said yes. she kinda stared at him blankly for a second, not expecting that at all. "you're the best, E!" she cheered, hugging him quickly round the neck before hopping on the bike and revving the engine. this girl was radiating poor joy right now. once he was on and holding on, she turned and sped off. she didn't go super fast because she promised him she wouldn't. if she ever wanted the slightest chance of driving this bike again she would have to stick to her word. regardless, the black haired girl relished every second of the ride. the wind cutting at her face, the subtle smell of the bay, the moon high in the sky. it was a perfect sight. the grocery store was coming into view. it was a small little 24 hour corner mart. she realized she wasn't particularly dressed for this occasion but it was fine. she had some cash in her belt always (in case of an emergency) so she could use that. all she needed were chocolate chips. "alright i'll be right back, just wait here." quinn spoke, glancing at eli as she got off the bike and waltzed inside. now q made him take this little detour but wouldn't drag him inside. she went straight to the back and got her chocolate chips and then on the way to the register passed a fruit stand. pausing, her eyes scanned the available options. she hummed, tapping a finger to her nose. this was something she did when she was thinking. quinn picked up a carton of blueberries, recalling it to be elision's favorite fruit. they were almost out at the tower, and she wanted to thank him. so she decided in that moment to make him blueberry pancakes in the morning as a 'thank you for going with me and letting me drive dex'. the cashier looked at her terrified but she just smiled at the older woman and laid her two items. "just these two please!" she made her voice sound as sweet as possible.
images of eli ripping that man up flashed in front of her eyes and she gulped. she hurriedly got her things and paid before leaving, placing a soft smile on her face to hide the underlying fear. it wasn't that she was afraid of elision. she was more afraid of what took over him when he shifted. she put the bag in the back compartment and noticed eli looking a little...under the weather. "eli, are you alright?" she asked him stepping forward. under the street light she could see blood seeping through his shirt. her eyes widened and she immediately lifted his shirt to see his shitty bandage job. "why didn't you tell me!? we didn't have to come here, you needed to go back to the tower more!" her voice rose as she spoke, clearly upset with his lack of communication. "dammit, hold on tight." she near growled, getting on the bike and revving it up in lightning speed. they were back at the tower in record timing, quinn getting off and offering her shoulder to eli to lean on. she could come back for her grocery bag later. "come on, let's get you to the medic room." she wrapped her hand gingerly around his waist, careful to avoid the wound, his arm around her shoulders using her for support.
