quinn flicked some dirt out from under her manicured nails, wondering what was taking him so long. finally his voice echoed through the empty alleyway. quinn took this as her signal to get going. she turned around, pushing herself off the wall. her hand subconsciously went to her ribs. that man did punch her pretty hard. elision smiled at her, which was kinda rare? she found herself smiling back, approaching his bike. her boots hit the pavement but made no sound. this girl was very light on her feet. she wasn't deemed 'ninja' for no reason.

"uhm, the one by the tower? it's the closest." she suggested. suddenly an idea popped in her head. "oh please can i drive us there? i swear i won't do anything crazy." she gave eli the best puppy face she could muster. elision looked at her with so much reluctance she was sure she was going to be shot down. but something changed in his expression and actually said yes. she kinda stared at him blankly for a second, not expecting that at all. "you're the best, E!" she cheered, hugging him quickly round the neck before hopping on the bike and revving the engine. this girl was radiating poor joy right now. once he was on and holding on, she turned and sped off. she didn't go super fast because she promised him she wouldn't. if she ever wanted the slightest chance of driving this bike again she would have to stick to her word. regardless, the black haired girl relished every second of the ride. the wind cutting at her face, the subtle smell of the bay, the moon high in the sky. it was a perfect sight. the grocery store was coming into view. it was a small little 24 hour corner mart. she realized she wasn't particularly dressed for this occasion but it was fine. she had some cash in her belt always (in case of an emergency) so she could use that. all she needed were chocolate chips. "alright i'll be right back, just wait here." quinn spoke, glancing at eli as she got off the bike and waltzed inside. now q made him take this little detour but wouldn't drag him inside. she went straight to the back and got her chocolate chips and then on the way to the register passed a fruit stand. pausing, her eyes scanned the available options. she hummed, tapping a finger to her nose. this was something she did when she was thinking. quinn picked up a carton of blueberries, recalling it to be elision's favorite fruit. they were almost out at the tower, and she wanted to thank him. so she decided in that moment to make him blueberry pancakes in the morning as a 'thank you for going with me and letting me drive dex'. the cashier looked at her terrified but she just smiled at the older woman and laid her two items. "just these two please!" she made her voice sound as sweet as possible.

images of eli ripping that man up flashed in front of her eyes and she gulped. she hurriedly got her things and paid before leaving, placing a soft smile on her face to hide the underlying fear. it wasn't that she was afraid of elision. she was more afraid of what took over him when he shifted. she put the bag in the back compartment and noticed eli looking a little...under the weather. "eli, are you alright?" she asked him stepping forward. under the street light she could see blood seeping through his shirt. her eyes widened and she immediately lifted his shirt to see his shitty bandage job. "why didn't you tell me!? we didn't have to come here, you needed to go back to the tower more!" her voice rose as she spoke, clearly upset with his lack of communication. "dammit, hold on tight." she near growled, getting on the bike and revving it up in lightning speed. they were back at the tower in record timing, quinn getting off and offering her shoulder to eli to lean on. she could come back for her grocery bag later. "come on, let's get you to the medic room." she wrapped her hand gingerly around his waist, careful to avoid the wound, his arm around her shoulders using her for support.

god eli looked a mess. she could tell bc his eyes kept flashing to the blood curdling blue. she huffed, choosing to ignore his ass comment about her being up his shirt. the pair were in the elevator when he snapped on her. god almighty it took everything in her for her not to just smack him across the face. e pulled the same shit every time, never letting anyone help him when he's hurt and she was damn near sick of it. "goddamit elision, let me help you!" her voice raised ever so slightly before she took a deep breath. she meant business and she hoped he caught the drift. the two made their way into the medic room and she let go of him to get supplies. her demeanor had gentled, now that she was over her quick rage moment. as he sat on the bed she gathered fresh gauze and tape, some long tweezers, antibacterial cream and stitches, just in case. once she had everything she approached him and somehow he looked worse. her face softened, her concern flaring up and showing through the cold exterior she was trying to put on. she couldn't help it, her stubbornness jumped out the window. she lifted his shirt up again, her eyes flashes from his wound to his face just to look for signs of pain. "just let me take a look, okay e? it's gonna be fine." she started, her voice soft and soothing like honey. she peeled his shitty bandage off, the blood seeping onto the white sheets. she inahled sharply, the bullet wound pretty bad. she could see the metallic piece shining in the hole. she knew this one had to have hurt. "can you take your shirt off for me please?" she started, laying the old bandage on a table next to the bed. "and don't even try to pull any of that oh i'm fine, i can take care of it myself. bullshit. i know you can, that's why i admire you. but for now drop the tough guy shit eli because i'm not here for it tonight." the words came out a little harsher than she intended but it was what the larger male needed to here. he was her teammate and as much as he hated being babied, she cared for him and he was in no shape to care for himself right now. she crossed the room and got a numbing shot. this should help with some of the pain, she thought to herself. "alright, now i'm gonna give you this shot to numb up your side so it wont hurt as much." she told him, her voice now back to the more gentle and reassuring tone. she knew how to deal with people in this scenario, even people like eli. you needed to tell them exactly what you were doing and why so they wouldn't freak out on you. she wanted to make him as comfortable and relaxed as possible. the more he squirmed and freaked out the more blood he would lose.

this, quinn's inner voice rang out in her mind, now this is going to be harder than i thought. the girl looked a little disheveled. i mean one doesn't walk out of battle looking like a super model. her hair had gotten messier, the once neat ponytail fallen a little lower on her scalp. she was sporting loose pieces of hair framing her face, her makeup coming off so her scar she tried so often to hide was on full display. it wasn't that the girl looked ugly, no, far from it actually. it was just strange to see her appear so 'unput together'. she exhaled softly through her nostrils, maintaining her composure. elision removed his shirt, the wound now on full display along with many other scars quinn had to admit she didn't know he had. he looked strangely like an abstract work of art. as if an artist went stroke happy on his body. she said not a word and instead stepped closer to him to view the wound. suddenly the larger male began to shift away from her on the bed. her eyes darted up to see his face, his words surprising her. this was an emotion she had never seen from eli before. it was fear. she felt awful for him, honestly she didn't know what he went through as a kid. he could've been experimented on for all she knew and other people coming at him with these tools might bring back ptsd. under any other circumstance she would've let him handle his own wounds. not this time though. he was in no condition to and was losing blood fast. if she didn't act now things could go south really quick. "e, i know it's scary, and i swear i would let you do this yourself if i thought you could. you're dying, and i can't let you die. so please let me help you." the girl spoke, her voice faltering slightly at the end and exposing her true feelings. she was scared too. she couldn't let her teammate die. not when it was her idea to go out in the first place.

she glanced at the tongs on the table before looking back at his face. his hazel eyes kept flashing that bright blue. she placed a delicate hand on his knee, looking straight at his face, facing those deadly blue eyes of his. "do you trust me?" she asked, voice even and face back to displaying no emotion. "not just as your teammate, but as your friend. do you trust me?"

    kya sentari | 17 | firebender | "shoakuma"

ky was not expecting any hawks ever for the rest of life. she was a streetrat, a thief, the last sort of person the white lotus would want anything to do with. yet here she was in the earth kingdom, eyes wide as she walked through the thick crowds of ba sing se. the hawk had come early in the morning, just at the break of dawn. it awoke her from her sleep, dropping the scroll on her gut. the young firebender expected maybe something from the city warning her that if she kept her shenanigans up she would get kicked out. the very last thing she expected was to be asked to help protect the baby avatar and go on this journey. kya was never one to pass up adventure, and anything to get her out of this shit hole. gathering what little posessions she actually owned (some spare clothes and weapons mainly) she began her long trek to the earth kingdom.

kya wondered who else was asked to join this mission. for everyones sake she hoped they were just lowlife thieves like herself. dont get her wrong, she was confident in her abilities and skills but had no....professional training. sighing she shoved her way through the crowd, her destination the meeting point described on her scroll. speaking of she was clutching the scroll tightly in her hand. she had a feeling she was going to need proof of her being here. she didn't look much like the avatar protecting type. her long brown hair swished behind her as she walked.

    leah | 18 | nonbender | kyoshi warrior

leah was the proud leader of the kyoshi warriors on her island. she was skilled and great at her job. when she received the hawk to aid the avatar, she honestly couldn't be more thrilled. she didn't doubt herself, because she's a nonbender. if anything that little fact sparked even more confidence in her. she was chosen for her skills. kyoshi island was a bit of a ways from ba sing se, so she'd been traveling for a few days. she was honestly a little worn out by the time she entered the great cities walls. her excitement trumped her tiredness though. she had never left her island so this was a very exciting opportunity. leah wasn't an idiot though, she knew her job was serious and not to be taken lightly. after all this is over she can travel again and experience whatever she wanted. this go around wasn't going to be the time. sighing the tall girl walked through the crowds, blending right in with all her earth kingdom gear.

now quinn usually handled herself well but she was internally freaking out. he clearly wasn't letting her get close to him, and she was growing more and more worried by the second. they were running on limited time here and some drastic decisions were going to be made. "are you sure they wont? i mean i can give you more than one-" she paused, knowing her words were void. he had been through this many times before, of course he would know if the numbing shots would work. quinn tossed the shot on table running a hand over her face as her dark brown eyes stared at the blood pouring out of him. she honestly felt sick. not due to the gory sight but due to her now overwhelming feeling of helplessness. she began chewing on the inside of her lip, his next question causing her head to tilt. "uh...yeah?" she spoke, not sure what that had to do with anything. "knock you out? eli i-, i don't know..." she hesitated, clenching her fists. she knew exactly how to hit him to ko him right there, but what if it triggered his transformation. it seemed to be the only way and he seemed pretty sure it would work. "God hit me so hard that i just fuckin' K.O right here, then... do 'ya thing." oh she was running out of time. the longer quinn hesitated the more pain elision had to suffer through. "alright fine. i'm sorry." she said softly and without a second thought brought her fist back and with all her might punching e in the side of the head, one of the pressure points. the boy went limp, relaxing into the bed. "oh god, i'm so sorry e." she mumbled again before wasting no time getting to work.

quinn removed the bullet quickly and cleaned the wound. the hole got larger due to his writing around so she stitched it up and bandaged it properly. by the time she was finished he was still out.

quinn let eli rest, after checking that his vitals were okay. she hurried back down and got her grocery bag from his bike compartment, passing their teammates on the way up. she gave a brief explanation of what happened before going straight to the kitchen to hide the blueberries and start laying out the ingredients. maybe some cookies would cheer him up after the nights chaotic events. quinn couldn't help but replay his fearful expression over and over in her head. she had been the cause of that, even if it was in small part and she hated that feeling. she exhaled sharply, blinking again. god quinn stop. stop thinking about it. the girl wasn't surprised by his indirect answer to her asking if he trusted her. he showed her in his own eli way. sighing, she figured she must go check on him. she left the oven preheating and went to the medic room. she knocked lightly on the door before pushing it open. "e, are you awake?" she asked softly, her voice sweet and honey like, accent dripping off the words. she peaked her head in, trying not to startle him or disturb him if he truly were asleep still.

    quinn lux | "raven" | 19 | the ninja | bio

there eli lay, still out. ah, she should've known he wouldn't come to in only two hours. she was just growing impatient for once and wanting to make sure he was okay. she entered the room silently, checking his vitals and putting on a fresh bandage. quinn grabbed a blanket from the cabinet and draped it over elisions sleeping figure. with a satisfied click of her tongue she left, closing the door softly behind her. it was approximately 4 am now, and finished making her first batch of cookies. she ate two, before going to let her anger out in the training room. she should've just went out herself cause then eli wouldn't be hurt. she took out her frustration on the punching bag for 30 minutes before switching to running drills and moves. next thing she knew it was 5:30 am. she needed to shower, bad. the girl had gotten so lost in the ordeal of the night that she hadn't even entered her room. she passed evan on the way to her room, the girl getting up for her daily run on the bay. they exchanged greetings but didn't stick around for mindless chatter.

quinn closed her door behind her, stripping herself of her uniform and throwing it to the side. she'd wash it later. her bare self was welcomed by the warm water of her shower. before she knew it the entire bathroom was engulfed in steam. the girl hummed a tune as she bathed, taking a nice long shower. her long black hair clung to her back as she exited, towel wrapped loosely around her. today was a new day, and hopefully eli would be up soon. speaking of him, she needed to make his pancakes! "oh shit!" quinn spoke, forgetting all about her little idea. she brushed through her hair and skipped her usual makeup routine, settling for some mascara and blush to lighten up her pale self. she threw on a quick outfit, planning on staying in today. the light grey was a good contrast to her hair. quinn shook out her hair, giving the wet mess some volume before scurrying to the kitchen. she pulled out her hidden goods and got to work. she played some music in the background, humming along to QUEEN. she made 3 blueberry pancakes, stacked them neatly on a plate and drizzled syrup on top. as the finishing touch she added some more blueberries. her hair had started to dry now, her natural waves poking through. proud of her dish she picked it up and made her way to the medic room. surely e was awake by now.

the young girl knocked lightly, pushing the door open some, hiding the pancakes. "morning eli, you up?" she said softly, her brown eyes observing the room. she caught his wince, but saw him sit up. he was awake! her head tilted at his first words as she hid the pancakes behind her back and walked further into the room. once he finished she couldn't help but laugh softly. "don't forget you asked me to!" she reminded him, her voice light and airy. she was appreciative he was back to his typical joking behavior. finally she couldn't hold in her surprise. standing right next to his bed she moved the pancakes from behind her back to her front, holding them out to him. "i made you something. think of them as "thank you for letting me drive dex and i'm sorry you got shot" pancakes." she informed him, smiling softly.

    quinn lux | "raven" | 19 | the ninja | bio

quinn knew he would like the pancakes. not to toot her own horn or anything, but she prided herself on her cooking abilities. late nights awake, she got bored and needed something to do. so, her lack of sleep turned her into quite the cook. she grinned, her arms lightly crossing her chest as he took the plate. "oh hush eli, you know good and well that was the best driving anyone's got out of me in a loooong time." she joked, a light laugh following her sentence. she could tell he wasn't really fully there, likely having a migraine from her punch. she did feel bad about the whole thing, but one he told her to and two she needed to make sure he stayed knocked out. there was no denying elision was a powerful man, but he was an even more powerful beast.

"oh princess, you know me too fucking well" earned a giggle from the sweet girls lips. quinn enjoyed giving gifts and hyping up her teammates. she was an observant girl and often times picked up on things most people would never guess. "i'm glad you like them! there a secret recipe." she wiggled her eyebrows, her gaze following his hand as he cut a piece and took a bite. she was suddenly very aware of her lazy appearance. quinn was one to care about her looks but not in a conceded way. she just liked to look presentable even on lazy days. her hand subconsciously went up to graze over her scar, remembering she put on no concealer. her hair wasn't styled, just a semi-wet mess of coal colored hair. she didn't know why she was suddenly so concerned, it's not like she cared how eli viewed her appearance anyways. right? right. she was pulled out of her self-critical thoughts by e's voice. sweetheart? that's new. but she complied, a soft smile remaining on her face. she sat next to his knees, feet dangling over the side of the bed facing the door. "how are you feeling?" she asked, eyes flickering to his wound, then dancing across his chest taking in his other scars for a few brief moments before flickering back up to meet his eyes. "does your bandage need changing?" concern shining through her voice as she made a move to stand up to change his bandage.

    quinn lux | "raven" | 19 | the ninja | bio

physical affection of any sort was never something to be expected from elision jasper. however, quinn welcomed it. it was kind of refreshing. her eyes followed his every move, even the poking of her thigh. to his comment she only offered a roll of her deep brown eyes. she had heard every short joke known to man and they hardly phased her anymore. she uses her height to her advantage. besides, she's heard plenty guys fall hard for short girls. she swatted the fork away from her thigh, an amused smile resting on her face. she was sure she hadn't given him any drugs, but his tired and loopy state made her question that. her eyes continued to watch him as they sat in silence. seemingly taking a break from inhaling his food, he busied his hands with other things. he started twirling her hair, causing the girl to bite her tongue rather harshly. she despised when people touched her hair without permission. if eli were in any other state than he was right now she would have smacked the shit out of his hand. however, feeling bad for everything she allowed it. but his moment wouldn't last long. lucky for him he quit before she'd had enough. however, she actually found she didn't mind the sensation it gave her. that was out of character. quinn inhaled rather sharply as his thumb grazed her cheek, and found herself pulling back out of his grasp. she knew what he was looking at too. it made her even more self-concious and she wished more than anything that she had some foundation in her pocket. her arms went to cross over her exposed stomach, the move portraying she was trying to hide herself or something.

"sorry sorry, i'll stop pestering you." she held her hands up in defense right after his protective stance over his wound. she didn't want to admit it but she knew she was annoying him. she couldn't help it though, it was in her nature to want to care for those around her. she let her eyes wander around the room, everything in it very bland except for the view. they had just missed the sunrise, so the pinks were fading from the now blue san francisco sky. her eyes fluttered back to his half-eaten pancakes resting on his lap. her hands dropped back across her stomach, before she quickly reached out, grabbed the fork on the plate and ate the bite that eli had already cut on the fork. she laid the fork back down, chewing happily. "damn, i do make a good pancake." she smirked after she had swallowed her food. she found herself slightly relaxing into her position, letting herself lean ever so slightly into the boys curled up body behind her. she hummed, having a thought. "you know, whenever you feel up to it i have a second batch of cookies to make. if you help out i might consider telling you my secret pancake recipe." quinn leaned towards eli's face, a hint of mischief in her eyes as she gave him her offer. truth be told she wanted him to get up and get moving to get proper blood flow and two it was always more fun cooking with someone else. she also just didn't want to deal with him getting the idea he could play with her hair again in this close proximity, no matter how much she secretly didn't mind it.

    quinn lux | "raven" | 19 | the ninja | bio

all she could do was widen her smile to humor his response. she knew he wouldn't deny her, call it a gut feeling. "i mean, you don't have to." she drawled on the e, leaning back up to sit straight. the girl's gaze followed his movements as he sat up, swinging his legs over the side. she couldn't help but scoff at their height difference. his feet rested comfortably on the floor while her's dangled. she kicked her legs a bit, amused at the sight. "hold on, thought you hated being babied?" quinn mused, her face holding a very amused and questioning expression. her head tilted upward to make eye contact with eli. after a moment of quick analyzing, she exhaled, defeated. "alright come on then. you're lucky i like cooking with people." she chuckled, dipping her his large arm, letting it rest around her shoulder. carefully quinn rested her arm comfortably around his waist. then she stood, bringing him with her. "you're a lot heavier than i remember." she teased him, the pair walking towards the kitchen. well, more like hobbled. the close proximity kinda brought back that weird feeling and thoughts like she had the night before. quinn pushed those out asap, refusing to think about that anymore. she let go of him once they entered the kitchen, all her cookie supplies off to the side. "alright are you ready to make the best cookies you've ever tasted?" she questions, her smile making her subtle dimples pop. she preheated the oven, sweatshirt clad body moving around the kitchen swiftly laying out everything. "be a dear and get the eggs for me please?" she hummed, hand flicking absentmindedly towards the fridge as she got the flour, brown sugar, baking soda/powder, and sugar. she began to put all the ingredients in the bowl in their correct measurements. suddenly, a wave a mischief overtook the goofy brit. "hey e, come look and see if i measured this right..." she tried to sound innocent. once he got close, she took the flour in her hand and blew it lightly, the white powder covering his face. she couldn't help but bust out laughing. "ah you look like casper!" the girl giggled, holding her stomach as she laughed.

    quinn lux | "raven" | 19 | the ninja | bio

quinn gasped as he flicked powder back at her, feigning shock. "ellie you buggar!" she placed a hand over her heart, her british slang coming through. she smirked, grabbing some more flour from the bag and throwing it at him, dusting his chest in the white substance. her eyebrows wiggled and her face was pure amusement. she knew eli would get her back so she quickly ran around standing opposite from him, the island separating them. she tried to run her fingers through her hair to get the flour our. "i cannot believe you went for my hair!" the girl tried to sound shocked but ended up giggling halfway through the sentence. her eyes were bright and actually hosting happiness. the girl was a good but it was rare to see a smile of her's truly reach her eyes. she couldn't help but think about nice this was, and how she wished they could be like this all the time. in fact, a part of her wanted to just go a hug the boy. now that was a thought. quinn could be an affectionate person when she wanted to be, but she wasn't one to have spontaneous thoughts like that.

her brain just wouldn't stop picturing eli and her as, well together. this behavior is certainly something couples did, the whole goofing off while baking thing. she knew that from all the movies she's watched. it was foolish of her to even let thoughts like that enter her brain. this was eli she was talking about. he had many more important things to do than worry about her. but she couldn't help but notice how the flour really added definition to his abs. knowing her luck her gaze strayed there for a moment too long. "now you and your flour stay over there, don't even think about it." she warned, waving a finger in warning towards eli's mischievous looking face. she should've taken the flour with her. her gaze flicked between him and the flour. she shook her hair around, trying to get the flour out but to no avail. she even got some on her hoodie. she lifted her arm to continue to mess around with the flour stuck in her hair, eyes never leaving eli. her action caused her already cropped hoodie to lift, exposing the bottom half of the lace black bra she was wearing. of course this was unknown to her, but hoodies like this were a fashion trend right now. girls wore cute bras under them with the thought of them being shown when they lifted their hands.

    quinn lux | "raven" | 19 | the ninja | bio

suddenly, e had the bag of flour and began chasing her around the kitchen. she yelped and began running from him. "eli, i swear!" her threats were nothing but empty as the two idiots ran circles around the kitchen counter. his steps faltered and quinn sprinted to the opposite side of the kitchen. she waited, pondering her next move. she really didn't want more flower in her hair, it was gonna be a bitch to wash out. she stared him down as he prowled towards her. she didn't mean to, but her eyes shifted down to his body again. she caught herself and quickly moved her eyes back up.

she really needed to stop doing that. whatever had weaseled it's way into quinn's mind about anything to do with her and eli as more than friends needed to leave. god quinn you're staring. stop! her inner voice spoke harshly. she bit her lip, having to concentrate on not letting her brown eyes wander. he was still a ways away, her gaze not faltering from his as she yet again reached up to her hair, exposing her bra some. before she could blink eli advanced towards her. she inhaled sharply, backing up. her waist hit the counter corner and she knew in that moment she was incredibly fucked. holy shit. she thought, looking much like a trapped kitten but not in the frightened way. more-so in the shocked way. her eyes glanced at each of his hands gripping the counter, noting his veins popping. her throat got a little dry at the unholy thoughts that crossed her mind in that moment. she quickly averted her gaze, her head having to tilt upwards to actually make eye contact with elision. she was at a loss, not knowing what to do or say. he had completely taken her off guard, something not many were able to do. she couldn't seem to break eye contact and her mind was blank. she had never felt so...powerless in her entire life. a whole half of her wanted to kiss him. but god, she couldn't do that. besides he was just messing with her, this didn't mean anything. eli will never see me that way. he's out of my league anyways. quinn tried to talk herself down and out of whatever she was feeling.

quinn didn't break eye contact, even when his eyes turned that shade of blue that scared her the night prior. in fact, quinn found herself to not be scared at all. for some reason, she knew he wouldn't hurt her. it was at this moment she realized just how heavy the pair were breathing. they barely ran at all, why were they breathing so heavy? the smile he gave her near made quinn melt, but she remained strong. she swallowed her, still not speaking. god his canines had her feeling some type of way. she would never understand why that was hot. he began to lean in and her heart began to race. oh this isn't happening right now. quinn's brain went panic mode but her physical self didn't move an inch, only her eyes as they studied elision intensely. "cat got your tongue?" he whispered in her ear. she had to admit she was slightly disappointed at the lack of lip contact. she lightly tugged her bottom lip between her teeth in an almost teasing manner. she feigned a look of innocence. what did she say to that? what was there to say to that? the cat did indeed have her tongue, but she wished he'd put her tongue somewhere else.

finally regaining her composure, the naturally flirty girl snapped back into it. "hmm, he doesn't have it yet." she teased, sticking her tongue out at him, standing on her tip toes to be closer to his face. she was almost daring him to do something, anything. her sudden boost of confidence came from nowhere but she didn't mind it a bit. it gave her some control back.

    quinn lux | "raven" | 19 | the ninja | bio

quinn's heart was racing. she felt like everyone could hear it. the steady thumping echoed in her brain as she processed what she had just done. the mere few moments felt like ages. she could relish in his dominating presence forever but all good things must come to an end. she felt a little squirmy in their close proximity, but in a good way. the words that fell from her lips hung in the air. they were eli's for the taking. the ball was in his court now, he determined how this went. he seemed to be contemplating something, fighting some inner battle of what action to take. quinn is very observant, people reading is her thing. she couldn't help but think she took it too far. she didn't change her composure, eyebrow merely raising as she waited.

quinn had to admit what happened next wasn't something she expect. her nose scrunched as eli's tongue made its way from chin to cheek. "e..." she whined, though a smile tugged at the corner of her lips. her hand immediately went up to wipe his slobber off. "How come you neva' told me you were this delicious, Princess?" his words were teasing, causing a weird butterfly feeling in her stomach. she rolled her eyes, a short laugh escaping her pink lips. "well ellie, you never asked." she smirked, her shoulders raising then dropping in a shrug. he copied her, making her want to stick her tongue back out to get the last laugh. she didn't though. there was a little more distance between the pair now, but they were still in close proximity.

quinn's sudden burst of confidence remained in place as she decided she was going to get her last laugh in their little game her own way. she stood on her tippy toes. "well let me see if you taste good then, it's only fair." the brit spoke, her voice coming out playful with an underlying seductive tone. she swiped her tongue across this cheek, purposefully grazing it over the corner of his lips. she went back flat footed, tapping her chin. "hmm, tastes like blueberry pancakes." she giggled, before ducking under his arm and walking back to the counter. she finished adding the flour and other ingredients to the mixing bowl and began mixing. "well are you just gonna stand there or come help me finish these cookies?" the now grey haired girl asked, the mixture blending nicely in the bowl as she smirked in eli's direction. quinn wondered if she left eli feeling any sort of way like she had felt moments prior.

quinn was more than satisfied. she was almost prideful in the way she handled that. she hummed in response to his "oh princess", eyes watching him but her actions focused on mixing her ingredients. once the texture changed from liquid to gooey, they would be ready to ball up the cookies and pop them in the oven. quinn stayed watching him, wondering what his next move would be. moves and countermoves, that's all this little game of theirs was. her eyes widened as he stretched, and then trailed lower. she quickly snapped her head away, instead looking down at what she was mixing. holy fuck quinn, do not let him catch you looking there. she mentally scolded herself. her hair fell to cover her face which was a blessing. her cheeks were dusted in red blush. she didn't need a mirror to tell, she could feel the heat in them. what am i doing? she wondered, mixing faster.

she heard eli approaching her from behind, her body tense. not because she was afraid, actually she was really excited. she had never tried anything risky like this and she was living in this moment. her breath caught in her throat when his arm snaked around her exposed abdomen, pulling her into him roughly. now that was the key word. the action turned quinn on, even moreso than she already was. the shock of it all caused her to drop the bowl on the counter (nothing spilt don't worry). she squealed a little, hands holding the arm around her. "eli, oh my god!" she laughed as they spun. she was honestly impressed, he lifted her like was a feather. "i wouldn't know, i dropped the bowl." she admitted, the words followed by another laugh. her long hair flew in front of her, some of the flour falling out causing the air around them to have a hint of white. the sight suddenly reminded her he was covered in flower as well. when he finally put her down she pulled the hair that was pressed against his bare chest to the front. she sighed, rolling her eyes. she pointed at her now white hair. "look what you did. i just washed my hair!" quinn was only joking. she didn't care if she had to shower a hundred times over if it meant having more moments like these with elision. "come here, let's get these cookies laid out." she tugged at his wrist, pulling him back closer to her. she enjoyed the close proximity and wanted to keep it that way.

"alright all you have to do is roll them into little balls like this." she grabbed a small glob of dough, rolling it in the palm of her hands before setting it on the parchment paper. she took his hand, flipped it so the palm was up and placed a bit of dough on it. she then moved to continue making the dough balls. her fun wasn't over yet, however. quinn let her backside lightly press against eli's front as he towered behind her. she occasionally shifted her weight just to make things harder on the poor boy. this was a side of quinn not many experienced. her flirty side didn't shine around her teammates. it baffled her how just moments ago she was trying not to think these thoughts about e or do any of these actions. now she simply wished he'd swoop her up, plop her on the counter and give it to her right then and there. this is insane. she thought, eyes glancing up at him before back down to what she was doing, a light smirk dusting her lips. quinn made no move to stop though, because she was far too invested in seeing where this would lead. q lifted her doughy hand to her face to knock a strand of hair back, a little bit of dough sticking to her cheek in the process.

    quinn lux | "raven" | 19 | the ninja | bio

quinn had no idea what she was doing but right now she wasn't mad at it. they almost had all the dough rolled up and on the parchment paper! she could almost lick her lips at the thought of these delicious cookies. she kept her little tease, shifting her weight to create some friction. that was until, eli's hand gripped her bare torso rather roughly. it sent sparks up her side and a shiver down her spine. she was not expecting that, well, that electrifying of a feeling and for some reason her confidence clicked off and logic set in. "be careful, princess." dear god what was he trying to do to her. what was she trying to do to him?

she was currently facing an inner battle of her desires versus her brain. unfortunate for her, her brain won. "...fine." she huffed, her voice soft. she stood still, finishing rolling the dough. no more movement of princesses hips. quinn damien lux what the hell are you doing? he'd only treat you as a one night stand. you'd have to live with crushed feelings and then ignoring them for the sake of the team. elision will never like you like that and you need to accept it and stop fucking around. you can only be friends. she began to chew at the inside of her cheek, the harsh words of her brain almost brimming tears in her eyes. she sighed, blinking a few times before placing the last of the cookies on the parchment paper. she slapped a bright smile on her face and grabbed the pan, slipping past eli to put them in the over. "and now we wait." she hummed, sashaying over to the record player she bought for the kitchen. she sifted through some vinyls before landing on one of her favorites. the album jazz by queen. "you like queen, don't you e?" she asked, turning the music up some so it was a good volume. it was still early and some of the team liked to sleep in. as she walked back into the kitchen space, she tossed him a dry dishrag to wipe off some of the flour. she began humming the song and cleaning up all their ingredients, bending over to place used containers in the dishwasher. suddenly, her favorite song on the album, don't stop me now, came on. "oooh i love this song!" the grey haired girl admitted, grabbing a wooden spoon from next to the oven and using it as a makeshift microphone. she looked at eli while she sang, letting her typical goofy self shine through. she needed to shake the mushy feeling in her stomach and stop getting herself in deeper with the flirts. "tonight, i'm gonna have myself a real good time..." she began, her voice actually surprisingly good. most of the time eli sings in the comfort of her room. for some odd reason, eli was providing her with that comfort here, allowing her to let one of her hidden talents shine through. as she sang the opening words to the song she allowed herself to get theatrical, pointing a hand at herself and letting it run down her body as she swayed. "i feel ali-i-i-ive, and the world, i'll turn it inside out yeah..." her british accent diminishing as she sang. this was typical of most brit's, their singing voices made their accents just disappear. she grinned as she sang, spinning around and growing closer to eli as she did so. oh he was about to join right in. she grabbed a second wooden spoon, holding it behind her back now. she was ready to give the man his mic!

quinn was half expecting eli to roll his eyes at her, but instead she was in for a treat. he took the other wooden spoon from her, putting on a performance of his own. quinn started to laugh but quickly covered her mouth to not ruin his moment. her eyes were sparkling, hips swaying to the beat. she spun around, dancing around the island as he sang. her eyes watched him though, almost never leaving his figure. when he pointed at her, signaling for her to take over, she wasted no time.

"i'm a racing car passing by..." she slid on the floor in front of eli, her socks providing the perfect slip. she threw her hands out for dramatic effect. "like lady godiva!" she tilted her head back to the ceiling, her hair flowing behind her. snapping her head back up, her eyes met his, a playful smile on her face, dimples popping. "i'm gonna go, go go..." at every go she advanced closer to eli. "there's not stopping me!!" she hopped up on the counter right next to him, placing a hand dramatically over her heart. she wanted to giggle but had to remain in character. she stood on the island, spinning behind him. she wasn't worried about hitting the ceiling or light fixtures as she was a shorty. wooden spoon in hand, she brought it up close to her lips. she used her free hand to tuck hair behind her ear, scar on full display but it was obvious she could care less in this moment. "i'm burning through the sky, yeahhhh." she sang, voice ringing out around the kitchen. she let the beat take control, hips popping to every beat of the song. once she finished her dramatic yeah, she pointed her wooden spoon right at eli who sat in front of her. her face was broke into a wide grin, pearly whites on full display. while he sang she kept swaying, holding her arms above her head exposing her chest almost in full. she dropped them down and started messing with her hair as she moved around the kitchen counter, letting the music take over her body. she looked like she could be a superstar, a performer on stage.

now this was fun. she was genuinely happy. quinn had to admit, elision was the last person she'd expect to be dancing around the kitchen with. the sight, the two of them was surely one to behold. flour clad eli sitting on the kitchen island, singing into a wooden spoon. quinn dancing and spinning around like a loon, also singing into a wooden spoon. her jet black hair now a shade of grey due to the flour. two things could be seen clear as day. one, the happiness radiating off both. two, the sexual tension that could be cut with a knife that each person was trying desperately to conceal.

quinn was having a great time, her smile never faltering as they jammed to queen. she was very pleased she could have earned a laugh from mr. tough guy. well, he wasn't being so tough right now, and quinn really enjoyed seeing this side of him. she had her eyes closed for a moment, as she waited for him to continue the song. he kept with the rhythm. quinn's eyes fluttered open as she glanced down, feeling his hand on her thigh. her head tilted slightly but her swaying movements didn't cease. what was he doing? quinn thought they'd gotten past all that, or at least she tried to. this wasn't smart of her, to let herself feel these things.

he began to move up as he sing, joining her on the counter. quinn laughed, knowing he was much to tall for this, and the counter wasn't big enough for the two of them. she kept swaying her hips to the beat, glancing down at his hand that rested there. she put both her hands on his hips, pulling them side to side so he would match her rhythm. quinn could feel something between them, as their bodies moved in sync in such close proximity. maybe dancing wasn't the best idea on her part. she giggled, grabbing his hand that was on her hip, pulling it up high above her head. she thing spun on one foot two times, allowing eli to spin her. she then held his hand tighter and spun outwards, stretching their arms. her feet hit the edge of the counter and she giggled and she leaned over the edge for a brief second before spinning herself into him, his arm wrapping around her as her back hit his chest. realizing what she had just done, it was too late to do anything about it now. she took a deep breath, smiling still. she liked this, this right here. her pressed against him in a sweet way, not a lustful one. what the hell is happening right now? just last night he was lowkey being an asshole. her inner voice reminded her. quinn just shut it off. no more inner turmoil or dialogue. she was just gonna be in this moment and let herself enjoy it. if nothing came from it, then she would suffer that pain later. "i'm traveling at the speed of light!" she sang sweetly, glancing up at him from her position before starting to step away as to not overstep her boundaries.

quinn snuck a peak at the timer, only a few minutes remaining on their cookies. that was good, meaning it would be time to eat them soon! she could almost taste their sweetness on her tongue. she was going to hop off the counter, but apparently elision had other ideas in mind. as she began to step away from him, his strong arms curled around her and pulled her back into him. she felt heat rise in her cheeks again, but made no move to hide it. before she could process anything, she was swooped up into his arms bridal style. "e!" she gasped, arms instinctively wrapping around his neck. he shouldn't be picking her up like this, not when he was wounded. however, last time she tried to coddle him, it didn't end well. she kept her lips sealed. he jumped off the counter, causing her grip to tighten around him. the song was lost to her in this moment, her only focus on the man in front of her.

sometimes she forgot how young she was, how young he was. with her job, it made you act a lot older than you were. truthfully, she was merely 19 and him 18. it was moments like this she cherished because it was like they were two careless teens enjoying life. don't get her wrong, she loved what she did and wouldn't change it. it was just nice to take a break sometimes. she had a soft smile on her face, not finishing the lyrics anymore. she let QUEEN take over in the background. instead she let her eyes wander all over his face, even though it was still dusted white. she giggled softly, bringing a hand up to try to rub some off his cheek to no avail. it suddenly dawned on her she was certainly staring. her cheeks flared pink, and she caught her lip between her teeth as she turned her head away from him. she realized he was still holding her. well, she wasn't gonna tell him to put her down. she quite liked the position they were in. if this was eli, just messing with her, she was never going to live this down. but if it wasnt....no stop. don't start thinking like that again. she scolded herself mentally. the raven, the fun-loving and spontaneous titan that always went with the flow was having a hard time 'just going with the flow' with eli. whether she was willing to admit it to herself or not, she cared a lot about it. she always has. she was just so relaxed in his touch right now, a type of relaxation she felt could just put her to sleep. that was saying a lot. she always felt weirdly comfortable around him, and even when her teammates were frightened he would attack them she never was. she knew he would never hurt her, not purposefully. it was like she saw something in him, something she couldn't grasp. she wanted to be close to him but had never let herself. maybe it was all the girls he'd bring to his room, or the fact he always appeared cold and distant, but quinn never thought he'd want anything to do with her on more than a teammates basis. today was seeming to prove her wrong. she should be happy but instead she was frightened. what did this mean? she didn't want to ruin anything but she couldn't help but acknowledge the butterflies in her stomach and how if anyone else called her princess she'd punch them in the nose. she peeked back at eli, slowly turning her head back hoping her blush had faded. she would give anything to know what was going on inside his head. she wanted the speak but was at a loss of words. she just kept her arms securely around his neck, looking at him with curious brown eyes. where would he take this now?

self-restraint might be one of the hardest things in the entire world. when your body and heart wanted something so desperately but your mind was telling you no. this was one of those moments quinn was being forced to display some major self restrain. she caught wind of a mumble apology as he started to shift her, moving her legs around his torso. the dark haired girl obliged, letting her legs wrap around him to hold herself up, her arms still remaining around his neck. she now got to look down at them, one of the few moments in her life she felt actually tall. she kept replaying his soft smile, the way he leaned into her touch. surely he couldn't act this well. her heart ached, just wanting to know what the hell to do, or say. fuck, she just wanted to kiss him. but like mentioned before, she was displaying some major self restraint. her heart pounded in her chest. she was sure eli could hear it. his gaze held hers, almost entrancing her. quinn felt like she shouldn't look away, and as a matter of fact she didn't want to. he leaned in, his lips hovering right above her own. she froze, not daring to breathe as if she'd ruin the moment. or worse, wake up and find out this was all a dream. something changed in eli, just then. the sigh not one of contentment, but of sadness. he pulled back and instead placed a tender kiss to her forehead. her eyes shut, her lips twitching upwards in a smile as he did so. the act was sweet and kind, making her stomach do flips. was it exactly what she longed for? no. but she was pleased nevertheless. and just like that their little moment was over as the timer dinged signaling the cookies were done.

    ---

the happenings of the morning played like a tape in quinns brain as she got ready for bed. she had pulled an all nighter two days in a row. as much as she hated sleep she knew she needed to attempt at some. the longer she went on like this the more poorly she'd preform on missions. she hummed a soft tune, a lullaby her mother used to sing her as she put on her pajamas. the girl then picked up her little watering can and began watering her multitude of plants. her lights were out, the only illumination from the city skyline out her window, her bedside lamp, and the few candles she had lit. once she was done watering the plants she went around and blew out every candle. she wasn't trying to burn the tower down. her room now smelled sweetly of roses. content she inhaled sharply, eyes meeting those of the curious little cat that had wandered into her room earlier. she smiled, giving him a few strokes on the head as she passed by her bed. she figured one of her teammates picked him up as a stray on the street. reggie would certainly kill whoever was responsible once he found out. but for now quinn was going to enjoy the cats company. she loved cats. she went to her bathroom and washed her face, then threw her long black hair up into a messy bun atop her head. now she was ready for sleep. she was always terrified to go to sleep and she was sure her expression showed it. she crawled into bed, pulling the covers up over her. she leaned over and turned off the lamp, engulfing the large room in darkness except for the dull hue of city lights. "goodnight cute kitty." she yawned, patting him on the head as he curled up next to her.

about an hour into her slumber, what quinn dreaded most at night happened. she broke out into a cold sweat, her long even breaths turning into short rapid ones. her heart began pounding loudly in her rib cage. she saw the man, the one who killed her parents. he had them tied up and was forcing her to shoot them. she kept refusing and every time she did he tortured them. she began crying in her sleep, tears flowing from her closed eyes. "no...no please stop." she murmured, head flipping from side to side. "no...stop! i don't want to hurt them." her voice rose, turning into a yell. she started to sob, grabbing the sheets tightly. the man approached her now, grabbing her and throwing her down forcefully. she was powerless. absolutely powerless. "stop you're hurting me!" she sobbed, flinching and writing in her sleep like she was trying to get out of someones grasp. he made more advances. the previous guy she brought homes unwanted sexual advances triggering into her dream as the man tried to do things to her. "don't touch me!" she cried harder, but still not waking up. her body was shaking violently.

the dark haired girl writhed around, tears continuing to fall her breathing become shorter and more desperate. she was painfully unaware of the feline trying to get her attention. his paws prodding her shoulder meant nothing to the dreaming girl. the man in her nightmares, the murderer of her parents tried to advance on her more, and she began kicking. "god please no, not again!" she thought she heard something, off in the distance. was that a, princess? no, not in her dreams. that word was never spoken in her mind this late at night. "get your filthy hands off of me you rapist!!" she sobbed, covering her body with her arms like she was shielding herself from something, or someone. her head was filled with manical laughter as the man retreated from her and shot her mom three in the chest and stomach, causing her to fall on the floor. then her father right through the head. her parents now lay exactly as she had found them that night. quinn near chocked, her hands reaching for her throat. suddenly something shook her, snapping her out of it. "damn it, princess, wake the hell up!" filled her ears as she came to. she gasped for air as she sat straight up on the bed, crying. tears kept running down her face and she tried desperately to not only catch her breath but analyze her surroundings. it was always hard, waking up from her terrors. she never quite knew where she was. "i'm sorry, i'm sorry. i didn't mean to miss." she sobbed, her body shaking violently as she hugged her knees to her chest, still replaying the images of her dream vividly in her head. the poor girl looked pitiful. her face was tear soaked and her voice scratchy. her messy bun was certainly messy, but it had lost it's original volume and just laid flat now, more stands hanging down. she blinked and rubbed her eyes, her breathing still short and rapid. suddenly she was very aware of a presence next to her. she jumped slightly, moving away before she realized who it was. "eli?" she said softly, her eyes brimming with tears again. acting on impulse she crawled over and wrapped her arms around him tightly, tears falling into his shirt. she curled up next to him, the small girl trembling against his larger figure. she was very shaken up and was honestly just going to take whatever comfort she could get. quinn wasn't thinking straight, still not fully back from her night terror. "i-i'm sorry, did i wa-wake you u-up?" she stuttered out, pulling away from elision. she was worried she had made him uncomfortable or overstepped her boundaries when hugging him. she just reacted without thinking. the clock next to her bed showed it was 2am, the city was asleep minus the distant cry of an ambulance. quinn appeared tiny in her large dark room. this was one of the few moments she ever appeared fragile. it wasn't a state she really wanted others to see her in, especially not eli. she could've sworn she shut her door like she always does. these walls were good at being soundproof. was she really that loud that he heard her? a million questions swarmed through her mind but she couldn't focus on one long enough to find out any answers. she sniffled a bit, her tears slowing down to where just a few trickled down her face as her sweet honey eyes gazed into his hazel ones.

    quinn lux | "raven" | 19 | the ninja | bio

her heart rate was slowly but surely decreasing to a normal level. her breathing was still going haywire however. she blinked a few more times, pushing out the few remaining stray tears. "shh, it's okay princess. i'm here." his soothing voice filled the silence of the room, overtaking her scattered breathing. she felt her tense body relax, though it still shivered. he rubbed circles on quinn's back, bringing her a wave of comfort. whatever she had done, whether it was shut her door or scream too loudly, she was grateful. this one had been the worst one in a while and is was comforting to wake up and have someone be there for her. his response to her apology was welcomed. the girl allowed herself to be pulled back into him, listening to his breathing and trying to match hers to his. quinn's body curled back up, her head resting lightly against his chest as she allowed her arms to stay around his body. she kept him close to her. he claimed she didn't wake him, but her eyes found the bright clock on her nightstand. 2am. he was most certainly asleep, eli liked his sleep. she knew that much. she inhaled deeply and exhaled slowly, her breathing finally turning back to normal. he's lying to make me feel better. the simple gesture cause her lips to turn upwards slightly. "okay, if you say so." she said softly, her eyes flickering from her clock back to his silhouetted face.

she just couldn't shake the pit in her stomach, the one put there by fear and past guilt. that unsettling feeling was always the hardest to shake after waking up from one of her fits.

he was being so gentle, with his actions and his words. it was soothing to see him so careful, but it also made her feel weak. she didn't want elision to think any less of her, or that she was weak. she wanted to be strong for him and the team. lost in her own head, she was only snapped out of it by a tender hand to her chin, lifting it up so she met his gaze. talk about it? oh no she couldn't talk about it. at least not yet. her brows furrowed as she thought. "i-" she started, before squeezing her eyes shut and shaking her head. "i can't. not yet. it's...it's too hard." she managed to say without her voice breaking. you could hear the tiredness in her words, in fact if it weren't so dark you could see the bags under her eyes that she always hid with makeup. she hesitated for a moment. her hands clutched the back of his shirt, suddenly she was afraid if she let go he'd disappear. "ple-please don't leave though." she pleaded softly, her voice cracking as another stray tear fell. yes she did want to talk about what causes her these awful dreams but she just wasn't ready for elision to know that about her yet. but she couldn't be alone right now. her tired eyes pleaded silently with his hazel ones. "i can't lose you too."
