    Marshkit

"Erm..." His green eyes darted around in search for an answer before he let out a heavy breath, his shoulders sagging. "I was trying to sneak out of camp.." Marshkit mumbled, scuffing at the ground his his paw. The black furred kit raised his eyes to the apprentice, half-expecting a scolding to commence.

    Marshkit

Oh? He hadn't thought of that, he ran away from Snowkit to go inside the apprentice den. "Whoa.." He breathed looking around the den. Marshkit would be here on day, he couldn't wait for that day! The dark furred kit scampered into a nest, wiggling around under the moss of it covered him.

    Marshkit

His little heart thumped as he heard Ashpaw draw closer then announce her presence in the apprentice den. He squeaked and buried himself deeper into the nest.

"Marshkit isn't here!" He squeaked. The dark furred tom brought his paws over his eyes. If he couldn't see her then she couldn't see him!

    Marshkit

Gobbled up?! Oh no, oh no! This was not good! The black furred tom was curled up, his paws pressed tightly over his eyes. Soft worried whimpers came from the kit as he could hear Palekit drawing closer and closer- his heart was going to burst from his chest with all this anticipation! Then pawsteps were heard right beside him, he shifted a paw to peek and then his cover was taken from him!

Marshkit let out a surprised squeak and even though Palekit had stepped aside the kit still decided to crawl out from between the young toms legs then dash to Bluekit. He nudged for her to face Palekit before ducking behind her, "Eat her first! She's prettier!" He mewled.

    Marshkit

He was stuck in the moss again, he didn't know how it was possible but it had happened.. Again. The black furred tom looked like an odd sheep with how a very large ball of moss surronded his torso. Marshkit waddled into the nursery only to bump in Ashpaw on his way, "Overwork?" He repeated the words he had heard his mother say.

The young tom scoffed and lifted his head up, "If Ashpaw is tired of her duties already, I'll take them!" He grinned.

    Marshkit

The young tom let put a hefty sigh and hung his head, "What can I say? I'm a moss magnet." His green eyes went to his mother and they widened at her words. "Really?!" Marshkit exclaimed before shaking his pelt as fast as he could.

Though the moss stayed and only looked messier upon him, the black furred tom swayed before falling onto his rump after all that vigorous shaking. [Color=olive]"Its stuck again!" He tried rubbing his side against Ashpaw to get it stuck to her pelt instead.

    Marshkit

The black tom stuck his tongue out at Ashpaw, "I'm gonna take them! Just watch me! You'll have no duties left!" Marshkit laughed but purposely tried to make it sound like an evil villain laugh. His laughter stopped at what the young apprentice said next, his features turned to horror. "Wh-What?!" Was that true? He had never heard of that happening but then again who gets stuck in moss like him?

Marshkit looked to Ravensong, "Mama!" He quickly wobbled over to her when she offered to help get the moss off. "It'll come off and I'll be an apprentice!" He huffed to Ashpaw. "In fact! I'll talk to Doestar to make me an apprentice now!'

    Marshkit

"Ashpaw?" The dark tom peered his head into the medicine cat den. He knew that she had been hurt and that she had to stay in the medicine cat den but he missed playing with her, it had been too long since he had seen her. "Uhm, I brought those flowers that grow by the river.. I think someone had told me they were called cardinals?" Marshkit stepped more into the den as he looked at Ashpaw's form in the nest. He shifted his paws unsure what else to say to her.

    Marshkit

It took her a bit but she finally stop to him his tail waved happily when she spoke but he froze when his eyes took in her face. The dark tom was quiet for a moment while he stared but soon he realized he was staring and quickly looked down. "I'll beat 'em up." Marshkit mumbled angrily before he padded over to Ashpaw. He sat down beside her and set the flowers down, "Does it still hurt?" He asked cautiously as his eyes traveled back to the molly.

    Marshkit

"But.. Hm.." The kit fell quiet with a pout upon his maw as his mother and Ashpaw spoke. Hm? Where was his siblings? The dark tom turned his head to look around but he didn't see them, "I dunno." He mumbled and his eyes narrowed in confusion. Marshkit blinked his green eyes to tune back in to what Ashpaw was saying, he jolted up right onto his paws. "We're gonna run then!" He grinned, then he'd beat her this time! "We'll race and I'll beat you!"

    Marshkit

He watched as Ashpaw almost looked pained to talk about the cat that had harmed her. Were they really that scary? well.. They did do this to her.. He lowered his ears. It wasn't just her face? Her ribs too.. Where was that? Marshkit's green eyes looked to the molly's chest but he couldn't see any damage, what it inside?! A shudder ran through the black furred tom, that must feel awful.

"Hey, where'd you get these? You said the river, right? What, are you sneaking out of camp alone now?"

His ears perked up and his eyes widen, "Wh-What? Me? Leave camp?" Marshkit scoffed and laughed only confirming that's exactly what he had done. "I think you bumped your head- I dunno where you got those. Those are pretty though." He looked away and pretended now as if he hadn't seen though flowers before.

    Marshkit

He looked to Ashpaw when she spoke his name in a different tone, he watched the molly stand up and he quickly got up himself. "A-Are you sure?" Marshkit inquired as he watched her. The black tom moved to her side just in case, would her chest hurt? Were her ribs just bouncing around inside- He shuddered, nope don't think about that! "You can walk?"

    Marshkit

He flinched out the shriek from Sleekkit beforr he quickly looked to Ashpaw, he saw her mood shift from contentment to regret. Marshkit opened his mouth but his mother had already hurried over to assure the molly that she was fine then came Halfkit who- Probably knew how Ashpaw felt. The dark tom closed his mouth and kept quiet, instead nodding in agreement to all that was said.

    Marshkit

Stay in camp? That idea was foreign to him. He was ready for the world! But was the world ready for him? The black furred tom stared at the flat stones that were in the stream, stepping stones this place was called. His green eyes narrowed in determination, he wasn't going to get his paws wet at all and step on every one of them! Marshkit jumped and landed on the first one, he grinned widely before trying to get to the next one but it was so slick and he slipped. The kit splashed into the stream and spat out the water that had entered his mouth, he frowned and quickly got out. He wasn't going to give up! He jumped, he landed on the first one then- Slipped again the the second. He kept running out and trying again only to fail on the second stone repeatedly. He was growing more and more frustrated and wasn't thinking about doing it properly- He was just jumping more aggressively which didn't seem to get him anywhere.

Marshkit let out a noise of frustration, after he had landed on the first stone he tried to jump over the second one instead of jumping on it. His front paws touched the stone before they jerked off to the side, his head slammed into the stone before he fell into the water.

    Marshkit

His head throbbed and he slowly shifted around, everything felt weird- Why couldn't he breath? His green eyes flashed open and he thrashed in the water before he popped his head up above the water. Marshkit sputtered, coughing up water and trying to draw in air to his lungs. His ears lowered against his head it still pounded painfully then he saw Ashpaw searching the water, for him? "A-Ashpaw, I'm okay!" How much had she seen? His fur grew hot with embarrassment, he couldn't even jump stones.. How could he live up to fighting off evil cats?

"You didn't see that, right?" The black tom squeaked.

    Marshkit

The young tom yelped in surprise when Ashpaw had grabbed him by the scruff to pull him away from the water. His eyes lowered to his paws as the molly spoke. He didn't mean to worry her but when she suggested they go back to camp he looked at her and shook his head viciously which on caused the pain to flare up.

"I can't!" Marshkit frowned as he looked at the apprentice. Why did she seem so scared? He stood up and shook the water from his fur. His eyes narrowed and he stared at the ground. "I need to get stronger and if I can't even jump from stone to stone!" He huffed and shook his head.

    Marshkit

"But.." Why did she seem so worried? He glance towards the stepping stones then past that.

"There's... there's a lot out there you aren't expecting. No one... no one ever expects it."

She meant that cat that had attacked her, didn't she? His eyes narrowed in though and soon she was nudging him towards camp, hurrying him to get back. Marshkit was quiet for a moment as he lulled an idea around in his head, it would be a dirty trick but he couldn't go back to camp. He had to start training now so that he could protect Ashpaw and so she wouldn't be so scared.

The black furred tom stumbled and fell onto his side painting a pain expression on his face. A whimper escaped his as he curled up on the ground, his paws folding over his head as if it hurt. He knew this was a mean trick.. But he needed to get better. Marshkit whined softly, his body trembling.

    Marshkit

Oh no he had done it now! Crud, what would he do? His heart picked up in panic for having startled everyone, just go along with it? Oh geez, oh no.. Everyone was fussing over him, mama was there too. The whines that came from the tom were real now as he worried over the trouble he had caused, steady.. Just go along..

Marshkit slowly started to cease his trembling and did as he was told by Bluepaw then slowly unfurled himself from the ball he had curled into. Just slowly.. So slowly. His whimpers had died out and he laid there for a moment just breathing- And his heart pounding in his chest. Oh geez.. Never again, never pretend around Ashpaw. The dark tom released shaky breaths, he was so nervous to sit up or look at anyone. "S-Side of my head." He stuttered a response to Ravenpaw's question.
