Hawkheart flicked his ear at the cats gathered, trying for a loud purr, "Good to see everyone's awake!" Keep it jovial. Keep it light, but serious-ish. That's what good leaders did right? "Ashtail is organizing a hunting patrol for anyone eager to eat." He nodded toward his deputy, while taking a breath. "And I'll be leading a patrol up north, hopefully to find a path to the Star Stump..." Hesitating the tom flexed his claws, hoping his fur was bristling from the anxiety building up in his chest. "Starclan grant you luck."

Yeah, I was thinking of having an old leader come in after the clan had kinda settled down, to give everyone a shakedown lol. Having the old Creekclan leader show up would def increase the drama

lol, you can def have them! I'd say the old leader of Creekclan was probably one of those stubborn old-people types. The kind of person to be really into tradition and what not. If you wanna flesh them out that'd be totally cool!

Cragfur barked out a small laugh, "He was so nervous he nearly forgot to show up!" That'd been a good time for Creekclan, full of young cats and good health. The thought sobered them, and they were reminded of the heavy feeling of loss settled deeply in their stomach. They blinked a look around the camp, and realized just how empty it was. "Good thing we're here to keep him on track." Cragfur tried with a rueful smile.

Hawkheart slipped off the High-Cleft, landing with a soft oofmph. He nearly startled as Barleyheart called after him, giving the other tom a wide blink before settling down. "I'd love to have you!" He mewed, "Starclan is sure to respond to at least one of us." It was meant to be a joke, but it came out a little too bitter-sweetly for it pass. He ducked his head a bit, before straightening up with a awkward flick of his ears.

Cragfur chuckled, "He's lucky to have such concerned elders keeping an eye on him." They pushed themselves onto their paws with another grunt, vigorously shaking a back leg. "I need to go find a meal before he only has one concerned elder to look after him." Cragfur licked their chops, with a snort. Somethin' tasty had be around this Hollow.

Blinking at the smaller tom, Hawkheart hesitated. Barleyheart looked like he'd been in a few battles of his own, but there's no telling experience just from scars. "After another warrior or so joins in." He decided, glancing around camp searching for some topic to sort of break the ice. A leader should get know their medicine cats! They were supposed to be a team of sorts. Even if...he was decidedly horrible at reaching out to others. "How is Chivepaw getting along?" Hawkheart tried awkwardly turning back to the other.

They nodded toward Redpaw and Chivepaw, tail twitching. "Good hunting, it seems!" Cragfur spoke with a barley audible purr. The rabbit the two had brought back looked appetizing, if not slightly subdued by the vile scent of mouse bile. Stopping a little ways off, food or ticks first? Either one meant that stinky little ball of moss of would closer to their nose in the end.

Hawkheart held back a purr at Barleyheart's hurried rambling, "Glad to hear he's doing well! And-" Well he hadn't been sleeping well, even long before Cinderclan's formation. It was better some days, and he could ignore the memory of mud sliding down, down, "I'll sleep even better once we get going." That wasn't a lie, really. He would sleep better once he knew the stump was reach. Hawkheart smoothed his thick coat down with a lick, turning his attention to Crowmoon, glad for the distraction. "Great! We'll leave in a few."

Hawkheart hesitated in replying to Chivepaw, 'I'm sure Barleyheart is a better judge of his abilities than me,' he settled for a slight nod of acknowledgment instead. "It'll be nice to have you too, Starlight." He turned his attention to the molly and Crowmoon, giving a look of appreciation to both. It felt nice, almost normal, to organize a patrol again. "I think that should do for an escort, let's head out before the sun beats us to it."

Cragfur hummed, "I say let's get it over with, my stomach can wait a few more minutes." They blinked, before backing up a few steps and dropping down onto their paws. They wouldn't want any mouse bile contaminating the fresh pile.
