Sky had left Night in charge and went around to roam. Her black pelt was stark against the snow, but she didn't much mind. The cold made her bad leg ache and made her pawprints smudge as she limped, but Sky didn't worry. Anything that was stupid enough to come across her was easy enough to take down.

She doesn't think about how she thought the same could be said for the coyote that injured her leg in the first place. Sky could barely save herself, nevermind the Tribe, without some help.

But Sky was trying to avoid going to the DarkClan border to see if she could see her son, Veil. She was sure he was angry with her-more angry than she was that he left the Tribe, and didn't want to argue if she saw him. No matter how badly she wanted to make sure her son was okay.

The Stoneteller didn't expect to come across another son, though. First Star, now Badger. It seemed all her missing kits, save one, were returning to her. Sky almost thanks Lilystar, probably forcing her ancestors to help the two when the ToEH did not.

"Badger?" Sky's monotone voice is surprised. "Is it really you?"

Without waiting for an answer, Sky moves to try to shield Badger from the worst of the elements and the cold, "We need to get you home."

Sky was about to snap that if there was anything to know, going to a meeting might help the poor bastard out. Then she realizes it's an elder, and snaps her mouth shut. If Sky was cut from the same stone, so to speak, as any of these cats, it was this one. Tumbled was as much a piece of work as the Stoneteller.

"Nothing to spark your interest," Sky's monotone voice grumbles back before adding sarcastically, allowing her swallowed insult to come back less harshly, "What? Are you too good for meetings these days?"

Sky had gone over to see what Night had been staring at. After seeing the irritation, and seemingly no reason for it, on Night's face, she hadn't been able to help thinking to herself, My ToEH, he's lost it.

But Night quickly seems to explain his irritation before she can even open her mouth. So she just takes a seat beside him, and looks.

"Aye, they must be," Sky replies without much enthusiasm. Emerald eyes narrow towards the sight, as if she will be given answers to questions she doesn't yet have.

"I wonder if they're caught in the snow, or making their way to us."

It had been a long enough journey, though Sky was used to it by now. While she had not visited her ancestors directly since becoming Stoneteller, she was one of the cats to lead the Tribe to their new home. Walking along the waterfall was simply like retracing her steps. As they walked by where she learned to hunt, where the To-Bes used to try to sneak out, even the top of the waterfall where she would retreat to let off steam.

So, yeah, no, she wasn't paying Current much attention. The Stoneteller was lost in her memories, and thoughts of what was about to happen.

"As I'll ever be," Sky grumbles back. "Come."

The Stoneteller says nothing more as she leads the way through the waterfall to the old camp, untouched. She only looks back once to make sure Current doesn't fall into the waterfall pool before continuing on. Off to the sides one could see where the cats once nested, though any scent was long gone. Sky doesn't dwell on it as she pushes her way to the Cave of Pointed Stones.

If it was cold in New York, then the expression on Lucy's face was colder. Not only was she cold, she was pissed that she was cold. Green eyes look at the tourists, staring at the Statue of Liberty happily from their position in Battery Park. Idiots, the woman can't help but think to herself as she pulls her pea coat tighter. How could they be so happy to be out, freezing their asses off? Lucy had only been out in the cold for a few minutes and she was already freezing to the bone.

Long fingers brush through dark hair, and Lucy huffs once again. And she would still have to be outside. Lucy wasn't expecting to be anywhere for an hour.

//take a shot every time I had to delete Sky and write in a human AU name

It seemed that despite the cold, Twolegs were still among the mountainous terrain of the Tribe territory. First was when Night saw smoke rise over the mountains. And now this, with the weird beasts in view.

Sky settled in just far enough from camp for it to not be visible, her black fur puffed against the snow as clear as day. And yet, she was not spotted by the humans. They were too busy-well, she wasn't sure what they were doing, but they were preoccupied.

It seemed that they were cutting down one of their trees, one not too tall. About the size of one of the Twolegs. One held it, the other hacked away with some sort of claw. Their kits were watching and squealing.

"What in the name of ToEh..."

Well I see you've got your Bible, your delusion imagery/

Well I don't need your eternity or your meaning to feel free

As Sky opened her eyes, the one thing that came to mind was the fact that every cat was too far away. The Stoneteller could see Autumn, her old friend and Stag's predecessor. The fuzzy shapes of other ancestors, her sister. Flicker. Dust. Her babies. But they were too far away, her childrens' dark pelts distinctive but not close enough to feel warmth. As Sky takes a step forward, she's in shock that her snowy paws don't bounce off some sort of forcefield.

She breaks into a run. Every sprint only equating to inches closer to her family, her ancestors. Why were the Tribe of Endless Hiding from her?

"Come speak to me!" Sky's voice even sounded different. Loud, desperate. Whining. She was here to speak about Current! Did they not know she had questions? Why were they not guiding Sky the way they ensured so long ago?

Then a dark shadow moves forward. Dust. The first of her children to leave her, here one day and gone the next. Sky's words are caught in her throat, and for once she says nothing. She just allows the smaller figure to touch her head to her mothers'.

Beware, Mother. For he knows not what he does. Comes Dust's voice, much more focused than the child was when she was alive.

"Who? Current?" Sky's questions are immediate. Or does she mean her younger brother, Veil, off in DarkClan? "Who doesn't know what he's doing?"

But amber eyes are blank, revealing nothing. Dust only touches Sky's head lovingly once more before moving back to stand by her sister. And Sky once again tries to follow, but they're just so far away. Out of her reach , as if Sky was placed in a fish bowl.

"Please!" Desperation from the fearless leader, "Just tell me what's going on! Is Current the correct choice?"

Nothing. Nothing but faded images and her last plea, "Help me!"

Wham. Sky opens her eyes, taking in the sights of the Cave of Pointed Stones. Damn.

Sky had, honestly, just been so in shock to see Star back that her mind short-circuited. Lackwit, get her somewhere safe! Her typical bitter voice echoed in her mind.

"Oh, yes, of course," Sky replies quickly, as if the request was some sort of revelation. The Stoneteller only pauses for a moment to check the quickest way to get home, rather than the long way round she was currently going.

With a glance at Current once more, she adds, "Let's all get home, shall we?"

//I love star and current's dynamic just saying

Sky could have heard the damn bickering from the ToEH. She's not sure what Current did to piss off Star, or vice versa, but they seem to be in opposite opinion over most anything. The Stoneteller wouldn't be surprised if Star would put up an argument if Current said snow is white.

"What could possibly be the matter?" Comes Sky's grumble as she comes across the trio. Emerald eyes are quick to shift from the two young cats to the stranger-clearly shaken up after..something. More unconscious, and strange, cats seem to scatter the land like the last leaves before winter.

"And who are you-and the rest of them?"

Sky wasn't as much of a fool as she made herself out to be. She knew well as any cat with a nose that DarkClan has been lurking on the border-more specifically, Veil. Or whatever warrior name he has taken on. And, yes, she knew damned well that said scent lurked with her childrens' who still lived in the Tribe.

    What was she, born yesterday?

The Stoneteller, in all honesty, took it as a good sign. Veil was safe. Her children were still in contact. But, come on. They all must know that this meant Sky was going to lurk right back. For...leadership purposes. Yeah. To make sure all was well in DarkClan. Their allies. Yeah.

    Either way.

"I'm leading a border patrol along the DarkClan border," Sky announces to no one in particular, 'Who wants to come?"

//I'll see if anyone else wants to join in then make the DC thread tomorrow <3

Sky lets out a snort of a laugh at Panther's comment. She, of course, was not one of those mothers to fall at her childrens' feet and declare how perfect they are. Even if, realistically, Sky saw no difference in her oldest's appearance.

"Well thank ToEH, I was beginning to worry you'd gone to join our ancestors, what with you lazing around," Comes her sarcastic reply, though not as biting as it typically is towards non-family. Not really something nice to say to your son, but nicer than what she'd say to some NPC over there.

The Stoneteller gives Current a nod of greeting as he joins the duo.

    "Right. Shall we?"

It was a meeting held later than usual, but Sky had a lot on her case as of late. Her son, Veil, across the border. Badger and Star seemingly dropping from the heavens back into their lives. And being completely shut out by the Tribe of Endless Hunting. The sound of Dust's voice still echoes in her head, Beware, mother.

But she did not know who to beware, or who to turn to. The ancestors were silent as stars. It didn't help that the Stoneteller hadn't received any signs since she and Current ventured back to the Cave, either. Sky had wanted to force it a few times, but knew better. They would speak when they're ready.

Until then, Sky had to make her own decisions. And that she will. With a nod to herself, Sky emerges just before sunset and heads to the center of camp.

"Cats of the Tribe! Gather for a meeting."

    //

    Agenda:

    -Make Current To-Be

    -????

    //IC opinions I love Lizard

Sky rolls her eyes almost immediately when she hears Current calling for him. WHAT? She wanted to call back, but knew going to the younger cat would make life slightly easier. The Stoneteller really had to teach that leech of a cat of hers some things so that she could actually do her job, like I dunno, lead?

But, no, of course she hasn't taught Current squat about his duties. So she limps her way over to him, the scent of RiverClan growing stronger as she did. Well, maybe the kid really does need me.

Dark, shadowy fur arrives on the scene as quick as she could care to move, emerald eyes taking in the stranger-a bored, blank expression painting her face. Even from here, Sky knows this RiverClan cat is hurt.

"What'd you do, fall into a mudpit and hurt yourself? Or is it safer to assume you cut yourself on air?"

Her monotone, sarcastic voice rises with the breeze as the Stoneteller comes closer to look at what's wrong with the cat. Sure, she was gonna give the cat trouble for disturbing her, but she wasn't heartless. Apparently.

"It's too muddy, we'll have to wash you off with some water before I can inspect clearly-you, my friend, may have an infection," Sky continues on as if she's talking about the weather, "Regardless, let's take you to camp and on the way you can tell me why you're here. Ah, I'm Sky with No Moon, by the way. Stoneteller of this lackwit-filled range."

It has been a moon since Veil left for DarkClan, and even longer since his littermate, Flicker, went to BloodClan, never to be seen again. While Sky held hope that her son would return as her daughter did not, she didn't put much effort into trying to force his hand. It would just ensure Sky never seeing her boy again.

And so, she thought maybe it'd be a good idea if she started to spend more time with the kids still here. Especially the oldest litter, who had to deal with two sets of younger siblings. Plus not knowing their father too well, though better than her middle litter, and they had to deal with the whole Lilystar thing. And moving from the mountains.

It's occurred to Sky that she was rather young when Raptor and Panther were born. They've certainly seen many similar things as she has. Huh. Either way, she just wants them to know she's here. In her own way.

The dark figure makes her way over to one of her oldest, with a look of affection only suited for her litters.

"Care to join me out in the terrain so I don't get killed by a hawk?"

Sky doesn't give much more of a grunt of recognition as she hears the reply. The kid would soon learn that it would, in fact, not be so nice to know her. But that was for another day.

The Stoneteller simply continues to look at the wound despite the mud. She'd need her herbs.

As she sees one of her youngest, Badger, she gives him a nod.

"My son, can you help me get this cat back to my den? He may be a fool, but I'm worried these wounds will be infected," Sky asks, before adding to Current-clearly without the love she reserves only for her children, "Current. If you could find moss to clean up the mud, that'd be great. I'm not spending my day getting a mouth full of the stuff."

//me: opens the medicine cat page of the warriors wiki because i know nothing

Sky rises slowly from her position of laying down when she hears Current's voice. With a sigh, she gives a small stretch. The Stoneteller wasn't asleep, not really. Mainly trying to see if dreams would come to her. They had not, just the same as every other night since she and Current went to the cave.

She doesn't turn away her To-Be, though she wants to and continue her fruitless attempts to connect with the other side.

"Yes, sure, come in," Sky calls, her monotone voice soft as she moves further into her den to the herb store.

She sits with her tail wrapped around snowy paws, and waits a second for Current to settle. With a sigh, she begins, "So. What do you know before we start?"
