He beamed, thankful for the compliment. How kind of her! He'd opened his jaws to give her the same compliment, for her name, too, was beautiful, but he paused when Morningfrost arrived. His tail brushed the blue tabby's fur, almost making his spine tingle for an unknown reason. Unable to stop the smile from widening on his face at the sight of him, a quiet purr rumbled in his throat when Goldendove echoed that she thought Morningfrost's name was lovely, too. It was, wasn't it? After a moment of pause, Cowspots laughed at her latest comment. "I like to think so. Jasperstar is our leader, and you'll meet my kits soon enough. Their names are Milkykit, Duckkit, and Goatkit." As he spoke, he beckoned for her to follow him, starting the trek back to camp. There was no reason for them to be cold and in the rain while they spoke, after all.

ooc: no worries - welcome, welcome!

As the warrior approached the border on one of their more frequent patrols, assigned now that Chillykit had been kidnapped, he found himself surprised to find a stranger. Another newcomer? They'd been getting a lot of those lately. Cowspots, for one, enjoyed the company but he knew Jasperstar wasn't so fond of those he didn't know at the moment. As he drew closer, he realized just how beautiful the tortoiseshell she-cat was and smiled kindly towards her. "Hello. My name is Cowspots; did you have business with WindClan?" the black and white cat questioned in a calm tone, sitting down a respectable distance away. He raised a single paw to clean his face as he spoke, always having been more casual than others.

I feel like Rose could just watch Cow from a distance and start to realize how completely harmless he is xD like he pretends he himself is a kit when he's playing with his kids and he sleeps in the nursery like a queen because he doesn't want them to be alone, and he gives hugs to orphans aka every apprentice of freaking windclan

& ephe!! we've been getting lots of joiners which is lovely <33

The pain of Heathercloud's death had indeed begun to fade. It was refreshing to feel like his old self again, and while he missed her every day, he stayed strong for the sake of their children and for his clan. Offering a smile towards Jasperstar as they stepped into camp, greeted by the leader, Cowspots dipped his head respectfully. "Jasperstar, this is Goldendove. She's a former loner wishing to join - her name following our traditions is purely coincidental, oddly enough." He gave a light laugh at that, hoping it would keep the bengal open. With how dark his heart seemed to have grown in the past few moons, Cowspots didn't want to deter him from accepting her.

ooc: screaming i forgot to postttt

He'd taken his kits out of the nursery to play a game when Mousenose began kitting, not wanting them to bother her with questions when she'd already be in enough pain as it was. Besides, due to his track record with birthings, Cowspots didn't exactly feel comfortable being there. First Heathercloud, then Bluefrost... he felt like his presence would be a curse. So, he'd promised his children the ability to visit once she was feeling stronger and instead went off to fetch some water when she was finished.

Peeking through the nursery entrance with soaking moss in his jaws, Cowspots smiled softly and offered the water to her, not wanting to simply bother her without something to help. His gaze fell over her trio of babies, smile splitting into a sunny grin. "Oh, Mousenose, they're beautiful! Congratulations," he gushed quietly, knowing she must be exhausted.

Oh, another joiner? Offering an encouraging smile, Cowspots prompted in a kind manner, "How did you come by a clan name, Rosebrier?" It was a lovely name, but Jasperstar, too, would wonder if she was a former clan cat. Oddly enough, there seemed to be some loners around lately that were given traditional names unintentionally, so perhaps that was simply the case with hers. Regardless, he stood with a stretch, taking his time before meowing, "Our leader makes final decisions, so I'll bring you to meet him and some potential future clanmates. I'm sure you'll like them; they're great cats." He grinned, motioning with his tail. The warrior began the trek, figuring she'd answer at her own pace and ask questions if she had them.

He smiled at her questions, telling her, "Milkykit and Duckkit both look like me, but Goatkit takes after his mom, so he's a handsome cinnamon tabby." Cowspots's eyes softened at the mention of their mother Heathercloud, but he didn't say more on the topic. While he was alright talking about his deceased mate with close friends, he did get rather emotional, and thus didn't normally put that on cats he just met. It could often be too much, especially since it was so fresh in his mind still.

Cowspots kept silent, however, as Goldendove now took over having her conversation with Jasperstar. He knew that this would be between her and the leader, so he would merely sit here for moral support and to know whether or not to make a new nest for her. After all, he helped out around camp more often than he went on patrol due to being a single father. The tom didn't like leaving his kits alone without a parent to keep them company, which he felt grateful Jasperstar understood.

mm I'd love to see Eagle interacting w Cow in some more bonding-type threads like discussing daily life, working on rebuilding the clan and catching up, etc. I can make a thread or two and we could have them become better friends through that?

mm Cow could definitely be a friend to him! Honestly, when Pep lies to him, if it's subtle enough (favorite food, going out for patrol, etc.) he probably won't notice or care too much, but if it's obvious enough he'll just be like:

    *squints*

    *gets real close*

    "are u... lying"

A simple nod was given by the tom, accepting her answer and seeming to pick up on the fact that she didn't wish to elaborate. He didn't wish to make her uncomfortable, so he noticed how she relaxed slightly when Goldendove came up. Was she perhaps not as familiar with males? It was possible. But he wouldn't ask, for that was rude. Instead, he focused on cheerful topics and continued their pleasant conversation as they neared camp. "I think you'll like it here. WindClan is so open and free, it's comforting to live," Cowspots sighed wistfully, happiness in his tone. "You'll find that a lot of cats are pretty carefree." It was a quality he enjoyed, especially considering it meant they all got to play and have fun in their free time. Even Morningfrost and Eaglespirit, two more serious and stubborn warriors, could be convinced to let loose every now and again!

Catching the end of their conversation, the warrior deduced that a kitten was being brought into WindClan, causing a smile to spread over his maw. He knew kits were more easily accepted, given that they were to be protected by all clans, though it broke his heart that this particular kit had seemingly no family. Mousenose's open heart in taking her in would be welcome, so he gave her an encouraging nudge. He'd be quick to aid her, too, if requested. Sitting down by his leader and Clanmate, Cowspots glanced to her. "Welcome to WindClan, little warrior. I'm Cowspots." He offered his goofy grin, tipping his head playfully. It was a trademark of his, being more casual and friendly than serious at most times.

Gaze turned towards Hawkpaw at the new apprentice's concern, he offered a reassuring smile. "Oh, certainly, Hawkpaw. I only eat flowers I know, like daisies and dandelions," purred the tom pleasantly, tail dancing in the air. Luckily nothing strange in terms of plants had invaded WindClan territory lately, especially in leaf-bare, so he could be warily optimistic they'd be safe. Yellow flecks of pollen coloring his ebony nose, Cowspots smiled at Pep's inquiry. He liked the new tom, knowing he'd fit right in with their dynamic. "Yes, I do!" His chipper tone rang through the camp, eyes bright before he tucked his nose back into the dandelions to take another snack.
