    Kass Ginny Fox

Kass chuckled as the intern left. She was a funny one, that Taylor. She really did hope that her luck would turn around sometime soon.

The jinn quickly finished her paperwork and stood up, stretching. Now was the time for her daily rounds. She took a deep breath and walked out the door into the rest of the station.

Kass kept on her serious face and demeanor as she walked to the news department, stepping towards the booth that the twins were standing in, silently waving to get the attention of Lou though the window. Her first step on the daily rounds was checking up on the news.

    Beatrice Elizabeth Aspen

Beatrice nodded and smiled back at Marccus. “Okay, sounds good.” She would bide a little bit of time here in the lobby, then. No problem with that. She watched as Marccus spoke to the other worker silently. So there were other new people? Good; suddenly she didn’t feel so alone.

(Alllllllll accepted, omigod, all of the characters are so great ~! I really didn't expect the thread to fill up this fast, I'm excited c: I should probably be able to get the roleplay thread and a first post up in a few hours)

The world of Ageorynn was born in darkness, and the mortals born onto it only knew pain. In those days, there were only two sides to existence. There was the torturous existence of the darkness, and there was the love and peace of the light. Eventually the God of light, Vaklunor, decided that it was enough. He rallied his followers and the other gods on his side, and they went to war with the darkness. The leader of the darkness, Nilutoll, and the rest of his allies, were defeated and locked away. The goddess Projica was assigned in watching over them for the rest of their sentence. As for Ageorynn, well, it was engulfed in the light and the glory of civilization was born. Ageorynn grew and developed for centuries. It was blossoming into an amazing world. The different countries went through times of war and famine, but by the time our story begins, there was peace and prosperity all around the world. Of course, no good thing can last forever. The darkness had awoken, and Projica had let her guard down. Nilutoll escaped. Now Ageorynn is once again at risk of becoming a well of darkness. Vaklunor will not have this. It must be stopped. He has summoned four heroes from across Ageorynn to his chambers, four young people whom he has selected carefully from all those in the world, and tasked them with destroying the darkness once and for all. You are one of these heroes. Please, save the world.

    Characters:

THE BRAIN - Kass Mae Wellington - Juliette O
Should be intelligent and good with plans.

THE MOUTH - Corentin Makkonen - PaleLight

Should be a smooth talking thief.

    THE HEART - Kim Jaehyun - ~KrystalKool~

Should be a caring person, the emotional center of the group.

THE FIST - Caireac Ashern - Colorflight

Should be a strong, intimidating person.

    ✧✧✧✧✧

    Let's get Started!

    ✧✧✧✧✧

Ageorynn had a continent, Eozespea, split into four kingdoms, none of which were a worry as of now. The only thing of importance was the grand Chapel of Light sitting in the center of Eozespea, where four young people from across the world had suddenly appeared in the center of the chancel.

The experience couldn’t exactly be pleasant for those suddenly standing there - not a single one was notified before the beam of light plucked them up from whatever they were doing and dropped them into the strange chapel. However, their reactions weren’t too important to the being who had brought them there. There were far more important matters at hand.

The pastor of the church was staring, dumbfounded and in awe, at the person sitting next to them - the god Vaklunor in his human form, a tall imposing force with a warm paternal smile tugging at his lips. The two sat in the pews across from the four young people who had suddenly appeared - the four heroes. Vaklunor’s chosen four.

Vaklunor grinned at the newcomers. “Welcome,” he said in a booming voice. “I am Vaklunor, the god of light. You four heroes have been selected very carefully for your strengths, and are being assigned to a special and nebulously important quest. Balance is being threatened. I am hoping that you all will be able to form the body that will save all of Ageorynn from another period of eternal darkness.” He stuffed as much information into as few words as he could. There really wasn’t enough time to linger on needless filler words. Not now.

    ✧Kassidee Mae Wellington✧

Kassidee was frozen in place. She had been in her room at an inn, somewhere in the cold of the south - she had lost track of her movements at this point. And, looking around, it was very clear that this wasn't her little run-down room in the inn. No, this was a large stone chapel with a man pretending to be god sitting all smug across from her.

Her first question was what, but what was happening became very clear very quickly - some sicko with a god complex had kidnapped a bunch of kids with a charm of some sort, some extremely powerful magic.

The question that quickly took over her whirring brain was why, and try as she might, she couldn't quite figure out the answer. Why would anybody do this? Why her? Why these people? Why pretend to be a god who she had accepted as myth for a very long time?

Kass had a million questions on her tongue starting with that three letter word, but her mouth was wrenched shut. It occurred to her that she should run now, but her arms were glued to her sides and her feet were rooted in place on the ground. Fear had paralyzed her, that was clear.

She listened intently to the words of the delusional man standing in front of her. It was interesting, but of course, the story he built was completely unrealistic. Four random kids, heroes? Yeah, right.

She waited for herself to thaw in silence, letting the million thoughts and plans buzz through her head, but being unable to go through with any of them.

    Kass Ginny Fox

Kass sighed at Lou. This girl really was brave, talking to her boss like that. She had to give her some credit; That kind of confidence was a skill not everybody had. Kass didn't mind too much, though - as long as it didn't affect the quality of the radio program, she didn't mind it that much.

"Yeah, I wanted to check up on the news. And the department, in general. Make sure there aren't any problems, you know. There aren't any problems, are there?" She rose her eyebrows in expectation. Problems were somewhat rare at the station, but when there were problems, they turned out to be severe.

    Almus Drake Willam

Almus turned his attention from Ariel and smiled at Derek. "hey, man! The real question is, where have you been? I went to the forest to find the gnomes, thought you'd be there. I waited for you for a bit, but it felt like you weren't coming, and I didn't need much help - the woods are really my strong spot - so I just went in on my own."

Almus wasn't mad or anything, mostly just relieved. He had been a little bit worried about Derek when he hadn't showed up.

    Arizona Mae Scott

Arizona sighed and stared into the mirror in her small bedroom, separated from the bar by a thick oak door. She took a deep breath and took on a smiling, confident stance. "Dwelling does nothing, you stupid cow," she mumbled to herself. "Now get out there and open the place up." She nodded at her own affirmations, adjusted Rose's brooch, ran her fingers through her hair one final time, and turned away from the mirror and her bed and the comfort of early morning, bursting through the door into the bar.

Apparently it wasn't as early morning as Arizona had thought. As soon as she stepped into the place she saw a pileup of folks sitting at the bar and a lot of others dotted around the place. "Ah, blusteration," she muttered to herself, before a wide smile spread across her face. "Howdy, ya'll," She yelled out, "get ready for your scotch!" She turned to the taps and the glasses.

Already, she knew the usuals of the sheriff and the deputy, and she quickly filled their glasses and sent them down in front of the men. She wasn't too worried about the two paying; With the work the two did for the town, they could have as many free drinks as they wanted.

She got a glass of whiskey and set it out for the new guy, grabbing his cash and giving him a wink. She almost went over to Law - surely the man wanted some more information - but seeing one of those escorts turning to him, she wasn't sure he'd be wanting a drink anymore. She chuckled and tended to the other customers.

[y i k e s ! Sorry for taking so long to reply, it never occurred to me that people would actually need to interact with my character.]

    Ginny Mae Collins

Ginny watched as Griffin screamed, chuckling to herself - not that it was especially funny, but it was nice to see the somberness of the previous conversation dissipate. She watched the situation unfold with an interested gaze.

    Atticus Anderson

Before Atticus could respond, Griffin was grabbed from behind. Atticus let a smile spread across his face as he pushed the kid back - Alex, of course, it was Alex. "Hey, nice shot, my man!" He said to Griffin. He was still a bit salty at Alex for what he had done before.

    Arizona Mae Scott

Arizona finished tending to the rest of the customers she saw. She was slowly letting herself fall into the rhythm of serving folks, turning on autopilot mode. This was nice, simple; It was one of the best parts of her day, drifting into work.

She was pulled back into consciousness as the sheriff called her name. She knew what this meant; Info was needed. She was pretty sure that she knew what this was about.

Sauntering over to where he was at the bar, she let a smirk cover her face. "Why hello there, mister sheriff." She gave a little nod and listened intently to him; Like she thought, a little bit of information was needed.

She bit her bottom lip, turning it over in her head. She was sure that she knew what this was about; the Mutts. She knew a bit about them, mostly what they were after. A bad taste filled her mouth at the thought of the gang - at the thought of Rose.

Of course, there was business to this. Her fingernails tapped on the bar as she tilted her head to the right. "Hmm... I'm gonna need a little something to jog that memory." A little bit of money was in order.

    Renata Ortega

Renata sighed and pulled on her boots in front of the door to her house. She had woken up hours ago, but waking up and getting started with the day were very different things, and it had taken her a while to get ready. Now she was finally getting up the courage to get out of the house. "I'm going out, mama!" She yelled up the stairs.

"¿Para dónde vas?" her grandmother yelled back.

"Market," she yelled back as simply as she could, before turning out the door.

Renata needed to head into town and get some more paper - she was working on a new map. She was also hoping that someone would need some directions, or a guide of some kind; She was in need of some cash.

    Chuck Tibberson

Chuck took in a long drag on his cigarette and smiled at the goings on in the common room. If he was lucky, he would be getting out of the place; But he rarely got that lucky. Even so, it was nice to hear some news. Hearing anything was nice, even if things ended up badly and the boss came back in a huff. Sitting around in silence all day could be so boring.

He began to rock back and forth on his feet, balancing on the balls and drifting back to his heels, and repeating the process. Finishing up the cigarette, he dropped it on the floor and stomped on it with his thick leather boots.

He really did hope that he would get out of this dump. Maybe his mentor would be able to pull him out of the place.

Vaklunor narrowed his eyes as the heroes spoke. So they were doubtful, hmm? He would show them, then. "Fools," he yelled out, "you dare to question me?" He rose to his feet. The pastor next to him stared at the display with fear in his eyes.

A gust of wind began to swirl around Vaklunor, before shooting itself towards the heroes. The torches lighting the church all blew out simultaneously, leaving a shadowy cavern with only the dim light of the setting sun illuminating it. The pastor stared in horror as the stained glass windows began to vibrate and shatter. Vaklunor cleared his throat. "I will say it again," the god said in a steady, booming voice, "I am Vaklunor, the god of light. And gods like I do not make mistakes." He glared at them all. "I have scoured through all of humanity. I have looked over every single mortal creature on Ageorynn, and I have carefully selected you four. There is no chance that I am mistaken."

Well, truthfully, he hoped he wasn't mistaken.

The room calmed. The wind died away, the torches flickered back to life, and with a little wave Vaklunor reassembled all of the glass. "Now. I suppose whether or not you believe me, well, that is a choice. But rejecting this is the wrong choice, I assure you. We don't have time to argue over whether or not you should be doubtful." He held out his right hand, and with a snap from his left, a rolled up piece of parchment appeared in it. "I have a task for you first. Whether or not you complete the task, that's for you to decide.

"We are in the center of Eozepea. There are four countries here, each of which has a patron god. Each god has a treasure that is necessary for destroying the darkness. I have not been able to collect them on my own. I have marked where all four reside on this map. Collecting them, that is your first task, heroes."

    ✧Kassidee Mae Wellington✧

Kass let herself calm down as the others started to speak out. Surely, they would get her out of this. This psychopath with a god complex wasn't a match for all of them. Ari wrapped around her shoulders, hugging her, and in that moment Kass was sure that this would end up okay.

That okayness suddenly disappeared. She tensed back up as the man began to speak again. The wind blew back her braids. Ari dug his claws into her skin and she clung to the animal, hoping he wouldn't fly off of her. The sound of the glass shattering made her flinch and cover her head.. Tears made their way to her eyes. Deep breaths, she thought, this is nothing.

But there were other thoughts floating in her head, the kind that she wasn't in control of, that knew there was something more to this magic, this voice, this story. There was an air to it that spoke of reality, and suddenly, she was believing the man. What a mistake, She thought, unable to actually say anything. What a mistake you have you make to call a bunch of teenagers heroes.
The wind and the noise and the anger stopped. She looked back up, wiping the waterworks from her eyes. Ari leapt from her shoulders and ran to the god, snatching the paper from his hands, and running back to Kassidee. She stared at her shoes as the paper made its way into her hands. What the hell Ari, why did you do that Ari, he thinks I agreed to this now Ari. What did you do.

This was terrible, this was everything, this was not okay.

    Kass Ginny Fox

A slight grin made its way onto Kass' face. "Wonderful. I'll have to find those guys before you get to them, then; Don't want the whole department to scare them off." She glanced around at all of the news department members. Some of them were working, some of them were talking, although she could tell that the conversations were somewhat related to work and she wasn't too worried about it yet. As long as there was something to broadcast when the news went on, she would respect Lou's oversight of the department. "Okay, looking good. I'll check back in later." She scanned the department one last time and waved at Lou before turning away.

    Renata Ortega

Renata stared at her feet and clasped her hands together behind her back. She had counted this in her head before -137 steps from home to the store where she got her supplies - so she didn't feel the need to look up. She liked to keep things as quiet and underwhelming when she went out into town, since looking up and around in Redpoint could mean sensory overload for a girl like her sometimes. She was on step number 94 when she felt someone's presence about to collide with her. She came to a halt and looked up to see Alasdair, the sheriff's deputy. "Ah, no, I wasn't looking at where I was going," she said as he tried to apologize.

She grinned as he asked if she smoked. "I do today," she said back, and took a cigarette. Hey, this wasn't so bad.

    Chuck Tibberson

Chuck grinned and put a hand to his chin as Catalina walked over. She was a strange one, but then, every Mutt was a big mesh of strange qualities; Nobody in the ordinary joined a gang like the Mutts. "Hey, anything to change up routine," he said back jokingly.

It was then that Shayne walked over. Chuck listened to him with a smirk on his face. "The usual plan; Overthrowing the gang and taking everything for ourselves," he joked. "Hey, where've you been?"

(sorry for meh post, wanted to at least get something out)

    ✧Kassidee Mae Wellington✧

Kass' spiral of what do I do faded away from her mind as a kind voice reached her ears. She looked up from her boots and gave a shaky smile to the kind looking boy, apparently named Jaehyun, as she held the piece of paper up to eye level and unrolled it, leaning its contents towards him. It looked like a a simple map of Eozepea, something she might find in an atlas, with four red dots sitting in the names of towns. She quickly located the chapel, smack dab in the middle of the kingdom.
It dawned at Kass that she was in on an entirely different continent. Information like that sparked anxiety in the pit of her stomach, but it faded away quickly. She was far away from her father and the lab. The endless fear of him catching up with her disappeared from her mind; He would never find her here.

She raised her hand to her chin and looked over the map, letting the gears in her mind whir. Ryozpa, that was the city nearest to the temple they were in. The three others formed a circle around the chapel, spreading to the ends of the kingdom. Crossing the entire map on foot would take a month, at least. Some other form of travel would be needed if this was as dire as "God" said. Carriages? Horses? Perhaps some form of air travel. She had been tinkering with a flying machine in her brain for a long time, and this would be a good time to pull it into reality...

Her mind went deeper as another boy walked over, and his cold tone pulled her away from her fantasies. As he introduced himself as Caireac, she realized this would probably be a good time to introduce herself too. It dawned on her that she would be traveling with these people now. "Oh, uh, I'm Kassidee."
It was at that moment that Ari decided to introduce himself, climbing onto her head and knocking Kass' glasses off of her face. They reached out and sniffed at Zaira, although her intimidating presence quickly drove the mammal over to inspect Minhyun instead. "Oh, and this is Ari," Kass quickly added as she scrambled to grab her glasses from off the floor.

    Arizona Mae Scott

A grin spread across Arizona's face as she took Nate's dollar from his hands; quite the sum, clearly he needed her talking fast. Arizona knew that if she tried she could probably haggle out a bit more, but this was more than enough to satisfy her needs. After all, she didn't exactly want to see the Mutts take over town.

She tapped her fingers on the bar after pocketing the bill. "Oh, I remember now. Let me see... Word is, them Mutts are holed up somewhere in the mountains near Garnet Lake. A'course, we all know they'll be coming down for some of that gold sometime soon. Now, I'll be sure to keep an eye out for any visitors that're out of the ordinary for ya, sheriff." She gave the man a wink. "Pleasure doing business with ya."

    Renata Ortega

Renata took a long drag of her cigarette and slowly let out the puffs of smoke. She couldn't help but chuckle at the scottish man's little joke. Renata didn't know too much about Alasdair, but from the few encounters she had with him she found him to be a funny character, and she did enjoy talking to the man - Although, she recalled, there were times when his accent could get in the way of her understanding.

She glanced in the direction he looked and nodded in understanding as he apologized. A'course, with a job like his, he was never off duty. She really had to thank him for his services sometime; the whole town did.

"No, no," she said as the smile melted from his face, "I'm just running some errands. I don't have anything important to tend to." She sighed and took another few puffs of her cigarette. She hadn't had a real job in weeks now.

    Chuck Tibberson

A wide grin spread across Chuck's face as he heard Vianna say his name. The beautiful woman was intimidating to be sure, but it had been quite a while since Chuck had been intimidated by someone. "Finally, we're getting somewhere," He said as he made his way to the cave's entrance - no need to get anything else, the man already had his knife and his gun on him, and what more could anyone need?

    • I don’t have any extensive rules on length of posts in rp, but I would prefer it if there was at least more than a one liner.

    • Please be active, at least one post every couple days is all I ask for.
    • Before you make a form, think about whether or not you’ll actually stay on the thread for more than a day. I’m not trying to dissuade anyone from joining, but I really would like this thread to last, so keep that in mind.

    • If you have any questions about the plot or the thread, don’t be afraid to ask!
    • You can run as wild as you want to with your character.
    • I’m fine with it if your character knows or has a relationship with one other member of the team, but I’d like the majority of them to be strangers.
