As Kate bid him farewell, he only then realized exactly how long they had been chatting. It felt nice, and he had enjoyed it, but it was about time he went back to being productive. He collected Asuka and tucked the blade into his sash, then spared a small smile and stood up. "Yeah, me too. See you around," he said, and he vanished into the distance.

Although reluctant to admit it, Elijah was looking forward to seeing the results of this task. He had a thing for pretty things, and sprucing up the castle sounded like a fun and rewarding activity for everyone to partake in, and one they could enjoy for days to come as they wandered the castle and saw the product of their work. He wasn't sure quite yet how he'd help - though he was eyeing the lights, plotting in his head where they might look nicest - so he simply sat nearby, waiting for more folk to gather.

It felt like a long time since the last meeting. It had been held shortly after he joined, if he recalled correctly. He really had been busy the past week. Time sure dragged on when you busied yourself as much as Elijah did, but he couldn't say he wasn't enjoying himself and the busyness, so he didn't complain for a second.

He sat down a distance away from the gathering crowd, as he had last time, still not quite comfortable enough to sit amongst the bulk of his clanmates. There, he let his tail rest over his paws and he waited for Royal to continue.

Elijah blinked when Royalguard spoke, startled by the tiger's sudden presence, having drifted off into thought at some point after offering Akimu her task. "Oh, yeah, sure," he said, nodding. "Uh... Since it's like, new year and everything, why don't you hold a little ceremony kinda thing for everyone to share their resolutions? We can all pep talk each other and all that." He thought that was a cute idea, even if he was having some difficulty explaining his thoughts - he hoped Royal would be able to work with it. "Oh, and you're welcome," he added, dipping his head respectfully. It was the least he could do, really.

It seemed that Elijah was finding less and less time to travel lately. He was picking up more and more responsibilities and getting more involved around his home clan that he didn't have the chance to leave as much. He felt good to be so occupied, but he also did find himself missing the sweet sensation of treading across unfamiliar lands. Unable to resist the call of the unknown, the young wolf had slipped away from home that afternoon to go out and wander for a while.

He often lost himself in thoughts as he walked, and it was one of the many things he liked about exploring, but the consequence was that he often ended up with no clue where he was.

The sun was setting and the disoriented male took a seat on the earth, letting out a huff. Now, which way would get him back to where he came from...

//omg no its fine !! im wheezing kieran is adorable as heck

In the silence of dusk, the bustling of an oncoming presence was all too clear, and Elijah hopped out of the stranger's way in time with their skidding to a halt. He managed to stifle the yelp of surprise that threatened to burst from his throat, but had he not been expecting the hurried individual, he was certain he would have emitted quite the embarrassing whimper. Ugh, he was relieved that wasn't the case.

Still, this kid sure was in a frenzy. The panic was contagious to the nervous wolf, and his wide eyes tracked the stranger's motions as he shouted about curfew and camp and trouble.
Needless to say, he hadn't the damnedest idea what was going on.

"Hey, hey hey hey," he murmured, the fur on his waving tail beginning to prickle anxiously. "Uh, just calm down for a sec, calm down," he urged, his voice low and soft, especially in comparison to the young male he was faced with. "What curfew? What camp? What trouble? Where even is this place?" If there really was trouble, Elijah was certain he could fight it off, and he forced himself to relax in the hopes that the kid might calm down too. The blade hanging from his sash might have been disagreeable at best as of late, but it did its job. "Take it easy, take a breath, you're fine. You're fine. Now what the hell is going on?!"

aaaa this actually sounds rly interesting im !!

its part of eli’s future plots to fall into some sort of abusive relationship (i love hurting my kids) so it would def work, if reiki played the innocent part for long enough eli would fall head over heels cuz he’s never really been hurt before so despite his cautious attitude and anxiety he’s v gullible, and if reiki’s emotional switch starts to play a part later it could get even better

so if you’d like for them to meet and see how things go im so down owo

Among the general chaos of the atmosphere, Elijah scarcely paid Frightfur's call any heed, and before he could notice the snowball racing towards him, he felt it pelt against his backside and explode into a puff of cold white fluff.

"H-hey!" he called out, whipping around to face the culprit. He couldn't very well run and gather snow at the same time, so he dashed behind one of the small hills, gathered some more snow in his paws, and hurled it right back at Frightfur. He wouldn't let him get away with a sneak attack like that!

So here Elijah was, having never heard of ColouredClan, being hounded by one of their members, and abruptly being informed that there was a serial killer on the loose in their territory. He was starting to regret journeying out today.

He decided to sit down and lower his head, taking a deep breath to calm himself and keep his focus on track. He couldn't find it in him to be concerned about the murdered - he was sort of a god, and one renowned for his prowess in melee combat at that, what was there to worry about? He could only imagine the ugly hollow that a spirit like that might spit out, ugh. He hoped he didn't have to deal with it when the time came.

He looked back up at the stranger and sighed. "I can escort you back to your camp if you want, if you tell me where it is - but in exchange, do you know which direction the Frontier's territory is? I'd kinda like to get back home." He lifted one of his forepaws to prod the sword that hung at his side. "I'll keep you safe."

    //its totally fine <3

    Elijah loved to wander.

He'd been cooped up for so long in the same old realm, bored and tired and sick of the world. Ever since his demotion, life had lost its spark, and he had lost his vigour. Sure, he'd been a temperamental mess before, but at least he had felt like there was something worth working for.

Now that he had moved to the mortal realm, it was like he had been revitalized. There were so many new things to see, new things to learn, cultures to delve into, landmarks to be studied, he'd been totally jumpstarted by all the opportunities that had opened up before him and for once in the longest time he was excited. Excited to be alive, excited to work, excited to learn. It was thrilling.

And so, he wandered, to make the most of the time he had, for none of them knew when it would end and he'd be forced back up to the ethereal world he hailed from.

Sure, he got lost a lot, but that was part of the intrigue.

And that day, he certainly was lost.

He sniffed around, trying to discern any familiar scents from the air, but all was either stagnant beyond recognition or totally strange.

He took a seat with a huff. It seemed he'd be sleeping under unfamiliar skies yet again.

He continued walking - what else was there for him to do - only to jump back in surprise when he spotted a large black mass gliding up a nearby tree. Was that a spider?

He jumped back, reassured by the clattering of his sword against his pelt. Was it feral or sentient? He could never tell anymore. Some days he worried the prey he hunted would scream for help intelligibly and he'd never want to eat again. As a being who possessed the body of a rather tasty jaybird himself, he didn't consider it a long shot.

He could have called out to it, but what if it was savage? Would it attempt to attack? Even if it was sentient, he could piss it off by getting its attention anyway.

    This was a lose-lose situation.

With a frustrated huff, he retreated into the shadows cast by a nearby tree and resigned to simply watch. Maybe the spider would notice him first - for better or for worse.

Truth be told, Elijah was running a little low on ideas, but that wouldn't stop him from offering Astral a task. Seriously, how many people lived in the Frontier, anyway? "Yeah, um..." He thought about it for a bit, then said, "How about you bring gifts to one or two of our allies?" Eli found intergroup relations important, and this was a good opportunity to get some friendship points from one of their allies.

Elijah watched with something akin to a vague amusement on his face, overlying an irritated front. He couldn't find it in him to be truly annoyed with this boy, regardless of how his plans to rest his paws in a familiar place were being thwarted. It was painfully obvious he had no idea where the Frontier's territory lay, but he wouldn't push further for now. Kieran was obviously beyond desperate to get back home, and it went against his nature to not help. "Alright, alright," he relented, waving his paw in a calming gesture. "Take the lead, then. I'll walk with you back to your camp." If worst came to worst, he hoped the ColouredClanners might take him in, out of gratitude for returning a lost member to them if nothing else. If not, someone there could probably tell him where the Frontier was located - or even Riverside would do.

"What drew you out here so late at night in the first place, eh?" He wasn't the conversationalist type, but he couldn't help but ask. If it was enough to draw out such panic there had to have been a reason - or maybe not, who was he to say?

    -tags-

Elijah sighed with relief when his query was met with such a calm answer. He was worried he might have stumbled onto enemy territory, and he didn't want to have to book it out of there through the snow. Not that he knew who his enemies really were - he'd really ought to learn a thing or two about politics. He wondered who would be able to tell him about that sort of thing.

He took a seat to rest his sore, stiff paws and flicked an ear thoughtfully. HawkClan, was it? Hey, didn't Ichigo live in HawkClan? Not that it was important to him at the time, but it was nice to know where it was. "I was hoping to get back home sometime in the next week," he hummed in a mildly joking tone. "I'm from the Frontier - but Riverside will also do." He wasn't nearly as common a sight around his second home of Riverside, something he had really ought to change, but it was home to him nonetheless.

"Oh, right - I'm Elijah. Nice to meet you, Penelope." He dipped his head in respectful greeting - it was something of a habit to always greet strangers with respect, regardless of who they were.

Elijah had ducked behind the hill immediately after throwing the last snowball, ears perked and on high alert. He heard Frightfur's call and shied further behind the mound, then poked his head out to catch a glance of what was going on - only to have snow smushed right onto his face.

He sputtered in surprise, startled by the chill, then shook it off and pouted bitterly at Fright. "Dick move," he muttered, aiming to lazily swing a paw up and gently bat Fright's face. Whether or not he missed, he would then attempt to flee to another nearby mound and jump into hiding so that he could prepare his next attack.
