What if Wolfheart was Cinderfall's mentor? Or maybe she had a different mentor, but Wolfheart took an interest in her, and they often trained on their own? Maybe Wolf noticed that Cinder never fully let herself go in training, and he worried that she might hold herself back too much, and he would offer to 'fight' with her. Since she was an apprentice, and his fur was so thick, she couldn't really get at him, but tearing her claws through his fur helped a lot with stress as a young cat lmao

But might be fun if they fought now, and she doesn't hurt him badly, but gets a good hits in, and maybe feels better enough to say what happened, and they can start their whole taking over the clan thing

Wolfheart is probably slightly blind to just how messed up she is, and really just wants to support her. So he's going to be majorly disappointed and hurt at her betrayal lmao

Wolfheart snorted dismissively at her words, but he did pull his head back, reigning himself in and calming down. "Liar," he said calmly, green eye boring into her amber ones. "I've known you since you were a kit. You may be able to hide your thoughts and feelings from everyone else, but you can't fool me. Especially when you're not even trying to be subtle," he quipped, the corner of his mouth tilting up. He watched her a moment, then sighed. "Want to go fight it out?" He offered. The she-cat's claws couldn't quite get through his pelt when she was younger, and probably still couldn't get too far, so he was reasonably sure she wouldn't tear him up too much. But he knew that their little late-night battles when she was younger would help her calm down, and he was hoping it would help her now.

Wildkit gulped quietly, golden eyes wide and fearful. The kit was crouched down outside the leader's den, one paw raised up to his chest as he leaned against the entrance. He'd seen Duskystar come in the camp earlier, and he'd scented the blood and the fear. He'd never seen his father look so angry, so he was curious and sneaked over to eavesdrop. And now he wished he hadn't. An apprentice was hurt by another apprentice? Is that what training was? He didn't want to be in training if that's what happened. And then when Cinderfall stormed out, her eyes blazing in fury, he'd just become more scared. What did she mean by 'you'll regret this'? Was she going to hurt Duskystar? Unable to take it much longer, the kit poked his head around the corner, knowing he'd be in full view of the cats inside, but he wanted to check on the leader. He may not have seen his father much in his life, but the cat was still his father, and...Wildkit shot fearful eyes at Duskystar, seeming visibly relieved once seeing him, but still shaking. His paws itched to run to the leader, but he glanced over at Otterpelt and ducked his head away, staying out of the den. He may have been eavesdropping, but he wasn't just going to walk in like he was allowed in there. That would be crossing the line, in the young kit's mind.

Wildkit jumped slightly when Duskystar padded out, and almost before the leader could say anything, the black smoke tabby was pressed against his leg, rubbing his cheek furiously over the leader's leg, scent-marking him as if that would keep him safe. Then he looked up, yellow-amber eyes still wide and scared. "Duskystar, did Dewpaw really get hurt in training?" He said in a small voice, tail tucked between his legs. "I saw his face when he came in...is he blind, now? Is...is that what training is? Father, I don't wanna be a warrior if that's what it takes, I...I-I don't think I can d-do that," he said, stumbling over his words. The kit wasn't usually so subdued. Wildkit had been named for the frantic way he searched for food as a kit, for the way his legs flailed when something wasn't exactly perfect, for the way he was always the first to wake and last to sleep, for the way he never stopped bouncing around and playing and putting everything he is into some new project he found. This kit was quiet, stammering, nervous, and desperately clinging to his father's word of assurance. It was clear that Dewpaw's injury had shaken the young tom, quite extensively.

(I kind of want to make an apprentice just to be like 'pffffft you're a liar and an idiot' just to knock him down a peg lmao)

Maybe Thistlefrost is the only cat that knows about their fights, and he can go with them to watch? Then maybe the three of them talk, and when Wolfheart leaves, Thistle and Cinder have their own chat lmao

I mean, the plot fits her personality to a T

She's likely shot out of a twenty foot tall tree because a branched poked her flank and she was like 'FAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAACK' just sailing off the branch

So just casually banging the leader and then freaking out and accidentally banging another tom, totally her style

Cloud calms tf down and starts getting closer to Dusky

Might be interesting if he actually knew from the beginning that these kits aren't his, but he also knows that the actual father literally couldn't care less, so he decides to step up lmfao

Yeee Cinderfall is having her litter around the same time Cloud is, so Cloud will basically be raising this giant group of kits, because Cinder doesn't want to nurse them, or wants to stay in power, something like that

And then when Cinder leaves, I think she steals a kit or two from her litter, so Cloud, who's raised them thus far, will be heartbroken because those are her tiny babs now how dare

So she'll kind of be all down and murr, and then maybe when Duskystar is actually back, she'll be more willing to be with him because raising all those kits is hard by herself, and also because hormones lmao
