Believe it or not, I finally found a face that matches what I thought up. Maybe some longer hair, but that’s really it. Keanu’s about 6’0”.

Personality

Keanu had always been analytical and curious- other kids wanted to be firefighters or astronauts, but he wanted to study the stars. He very specifically told his parents that he wanted to be an astrophysicist- nothing less. Maps of the stars aren’t exactly the best set of knowledge to have in the apocalypse, but it makes him a better navigator than most at night. Keanu likes facts and the precise, not assumptions or uncertain outcomes. As such, he’s terribly indecisive. He likes to run through every option he has before he makes an important decision. He’s nerve wracked in dangerous situations, and panics pretty easy, but he does his best to help regardless. Currently, he’s trying to be less “cowardly,” and often puts aside his own issues as to not worry Alani. He seems to get braver if people he cares about are in danger. Unfortunately, Keanu’s had to grow up fast- he’s had to act as Alani’s brother and her parents. Keanu doesn’t want to let Alani into any danger- though he knows that she’ll have to get into some so she can learn how to survive in the long run.

He doesn’t want to think about what happens if he or Alani gets bit.

Other family

Alani Kanahele - His younger sister. He’s highly protective and rarely lets her go too far from him, or venture from the farm. There’s only a select few people that Keanu trusts to keep her safe when he’s not watching her.

The last he saw of his parents, they were shouting at Keanu and Alani to run as far as they could- and they did. Now Keanu has no idea where they are.

• Right now he would be easily swayed by the promise of information on his parents.

Personality

Alani is generally an optimist- she doesn’t ignore the reality of their situation, but she does believe that everyone good will pull through hard times. She knows that people are going to die- but thinks it’ll only be the “bad people.” Alani is headstrong and gung-ho to help out whenever and wherever she can, and often tries to get the other members to let her go with them when they go out on a task (much to Keanu’s protest). She’s eager to prove herself capable of survival. Alani struggles to make decisions that have no clear “right answer”- she doesn’t think she’ll make the right choice, and looks to the older group members for guidance on making hard calls. Alani is very unforgiving- if you wrong her or her family, she’s not going to forget it easily. Alani, thus far, has had no qualms about killing zombies or watching them get killed. Just to defend herself, she’s been given a small hunting knife- which she’s used on a zombie or two when she was supposed to be stuck inside but decided to help out. Alani would like to be able to use a gun, as she thinks it’ll make her more useful.

She hasn’t thought about what she’ll do if she or Keanu gets bit. She doesn’t think it’ll ever happen.

• She’s making a couple of wrong assumptions about the current state of the world (only bad people are gonna get killed). Prove her wrong.
• Alani’s trying to get anybody to let her go out and help. She might try to jump the gun and go out herself.

Nothing really differs from the picture, except with a pair of small round glasses. He wouldn’t have the hat, and the rest of his clothes would be more roughed up than the pic. He looks surprisingly well-kept considering the situation.

Personality

Cain’s main strength comes through his charismatic nature, and speaks quietly- but in a fashion that conveys a sense of malice. He has no hesitance when he has to inflict violence on others- but he’ll try to “peacefully” indoctrinate them into the cult first rather than skip straight to bloodshed. He has his own methods involving fire and brimstone preaching- and torture. Cain doesn’t like to kill any potential members, as he believes it his mission and duty to “save” as many people as he can from “god-sent punishment.” Cain does have a capacity for forgiveness- so long as you let him “save” you in the end. But if someone resists too greatly or causes him or his cult too much harm, he understands that there are simply some who don’t want him to “help” them. In essence, he’s got a Messiah Complex.

Plot ideas

• He’s one of the cult guys, so it’s gonna be awhile before he shows up or anything.
• He’s a manipulator, and he’s made his main task in the cult indoctrination. He might sway some characters.

- both really only spoke, like, samoan when the apocalypse started and were only just starting to pick up some english after recently moving. they're both pretty fluent now.

- keanu still remembers every constellation he can, though he's starting to forget some of the details. he keeps promising himself to start writing them down.

- keanu's an awful shot with any long range weapon. he fights with an old axe they found in the barn.

- i was gonna make alani more innocent, and then i remembered how much i loved AJ being a really pissed off six year old in TWDG, so she's more aggressive now.

- alani wants to use a gun SO BAD she keeps trying to get colt and beretta to let her try theirs

- So long as Rosalind or Talon are around, he's fine with leaving Alani on her own. He trusts them.

- I wanted to make a manipulator villain rather than one who only used show of physical force. One that you would let into your community because he's nice enough, but there's something off about him- but you can't put your finger on it until he acts.

- named him after the Cain & Able story. it definitely fit him. & Azrael is the Angel of Death, so. wooo symbolism

- I have to clarify, I'm definitely not religious irl. I just know a lot of southern christian stuff (because I live in the south) and I like to use the aesthetics lmao
