Jian is a man who acts far more youthful than he appears, but it’s the more serious side of him that allows him to lead the Fauna as well as he can. He fiercely defends the Fauna people, their honor and well being being of the utmost importance to him. If a slight against him or the Fauna is committed, he’ll have it amended whether he must take matters into his own hands or not. Jian tries to be lighthearted where he can and emphasizes the importance of just simply having fun once in a while. He does prefer the presence of his own people but does not at all mind the company of other groups of creatures, often seeking them out to strengthen his people’s relations with everybody in the valley. Jian is a man of many words and ideas that he won’t shy from putting out there. Jian is very open to other people, though he is more than often more open than he should be- his main criticism coming from not being cautious enough.

Like his personality, he does appear slightly more youthful than he should. His hair is slicked back, with prominent facial hair going down to his chin. He is fairly more… hairy than other fauna, to put it that way. Black fur protrudes from his forearms and calves, as well as on his hands and feet.

A man with unnatural height that stands at about 6’8 and towers over most other fauna his age. He isn’t skinny, nor is he overtly muscular in any way, but he is fairly athletic from the climbing he does on a daily basis.

A bright golden color that reflects his mischievous heritage.

A charcoal black color, with newly emerging streaks of silver to match his age and stress of the job.

• Shifting: Jian can shift into several animal forms for whatever purpose he wishes. He’s only mastered a couple forms that he can use on a whim without having to sacrifice much. Other forms, such as those he hasn’t practiced or are too large (about bigger than a bear) are difficult- some being impossible without constant practice. He can use the forms of: gibbon, gorilla, crocodile, red fox, red-tailed hawk, tiger, and brown bear. Jian can only understand or speak to animals if he is in one of these forms as the same family as the animal.
• Illusion Magic: Sun Wukong’s influence on his subjects passed down a popular power to Jian. Jian can use minor illusion magics. The illusions can be seen through by any ability that allows one to, and are not physical- someone’s hand would pass through them.
• Split: One of the subsets of the illusion magic is a specific move called “split,” which is essentially a nerfed version of what the Monkey King has used before. Jian can create a physical clone of himself. The clone has Jian’s dexterity and physical enhancements but cannot speak or think on its own, and does only what Jian commands it to. It cannot use any of Jian’s powers. The form is strenuous and difficult to maintain, as Jian has to split concentration between himself and the clone. The clone has a glowing outline of a bright gold and pupiless eyes that are again a gold color. It relies on its dexterity- an attack hit on the clone dissipates it. If this occurs, he cannot use it again until the next day. Jian’s least favorite part? He has to pull out one of his hairs to create it.
• Gold Gaze: Jian, like Wukong, has the more short-lived ability to view evil. Using the ability gives him a view akin to that of a heat-sensing camera. Evil beings and trails created by evil beings stand out as a bright gold color among the rest. He can use this regularly for about half a minute. His maximum is a minute, but it puts strain on his eyes. His eyes are thus sensitive to things like smoke.
• Stone Arm: A minor power that is more of a learned martial arts move than anything, not exclusive to Jian or his species at all, though they are the most likely learners. Jian can turn his fist and forearm to stone, replicating the original form of Sun Wukong. He mainly uses it for combat purposes to get an edge or breaking something. It is otherwise not used.

The obvious monkey tail that comes with the human form. Pointy ears, that many people mistake for being elven.

✙ extra lore

His type of Fauna stems from that of the tale of Sun Wukong, the monkey god. He isn’t related to the god himself, he’s noted before that he wouldn’t leave himself stuck in the village if he was. He’s related to one of the monkeys that Sun ruled over in his early days, but that is as far as it stems. Most of those with the same relation took the god’s namesake in honor, thus his last name, Wukong.

Jian was by no means the most serious successor of them, but he was dedicated. If there was one thing he truly meant, it was that he was going to lead the fauna to greatness and stability. Jian wasn’t aware he would become the Fauna leader so soon- but the sudden death of a mentor lead to him quickly being thrust into leadership from the age of 19. It briefly caused some uncertainty in the faunus community that he quickly dispelled by showing his dedication wherever he could. The small scar over his nose came from a short altercation in his youth.

Percival is a man with a mind that is constantly turning gears. He has a calm and level-headed demeanor, there’s not much out there that would make him openly emotional. He’s very prone to keep things to himself, not putting much out there- he thinks it’ll be used against him if he does. Percival is what he would call a collector of knowledge that tries to gain as much as he can for both his own and medical purposes. If he wants to know, he’ll find a way- his smooth tongue can usually get him there. Percival’s collection has helped the valley on multiple occasions, enough to where most can excuse his “ends justify the means” way of getting to it. There’s some criticism- becoming more docile in his hunt for information and being one of the only men who can properly perform surgery has let it die down for the most part. Percival, from his ability to smooth-talk, becomes somewhat of a diplomat when things get too heated between the four leaders or successors.

Percival is a tired-looking man with short white locks of hair that he either lets go wild or slick back. Percival stands at five foot ten and has a fairly chiseled face with stubble to go with it. Percival keeps a look of nobility and formality about himself, not being one to leave the house or appear in front of an audience disheveled.

Percival is actually rather thin. He’s never really continuously done anything to keep up with his body shape, so he’s not all that muscular either.

Shifts into the smaller form of a peregrine falcon, of which he takes his namesake. Is not a stranger to this form, and uses it whenever he needs.

His hands are a bit clawed and feathery, but otherwise, no outside indicators of being a seraph. Percival is able to pass himself off as human well enough with gloves.

His form is part of the reason he’s down more the path of a surgeon than anything else- the falcon eye and sharpened claws that he can use himself allow him to be extremely precise. This does however make him more prone to… getting his hands dirty.

Percival doesn’t disclose much about his past, and typically keeps all of the finer details to himself. He usually gives an overview if he’s required to- his life wasn’t one of hardship. He claims he followed the path of a healer after his father’s death, but discovered he didn’t have any magical inclinations. He thus turned to a more admittedly gruesome seeming form of medicine, but one that has proven useful thus far to the valley.

The description I have of him definitely makes him sound most prone to villainous tendencies, if you want something with that. Otherwise, he’s not as bad as he sounds, I swear!
