The raven greeted the visitor first. Since Tanaquil wasn't here yet, they assumed they could accept the request. "Welcome to the District." They wrote, attempting to write it with enthusiasm, although, this sort of dialogue couldn't really show enthusiasm, "We'd be honored to join the karaoke." Nocturne personally couldn't sing, being mute and such, but they would go anyways. It would be great fun to watch others after all.

Ah, yes, their old home. Nocturne breathed in the old scent they once carried when they flew over the territory, landing softly in the castle. They were here to watch others have fun. Seeing others happy also made them happy, so they were fine with just sitting aside. "Nocturne here, from The District." They scrawled, holding the greeting in their beak.

Mine neither
So how's y'all's weekend so far?
The raven sat alone in the winter chill, a small flame warming their feet. For now, they perched alone, watching the stars in the sky. They always reminded them of their family. How their mother and father had died in a forest fire, and how they had forced their siblings to fly. They never found out if anyone survived. Each night, they would count the stars, hoping that none of them represented their siblings. The shimmering spots were so beautiful, yet, they brought a sadness to them. It was like teardrops against the face of the endless void. A space, but a space none could reach, not unless they died.
They remembered how their siblings were so young, how they were the youngest of the clutch. They had been the first to fly. It was a dare, life-threatening at that, but they had did it nonetheless. Their parents scolded their children harshly ever since the incident. They smiled to themself as they thought about the memory. It was nice to remember them. They were alone now, like the stars in the sky. Tanaquil and Butterflypaw felt like their sisters, Kokito like their brother, but they never felt complete. No one else could fly, perform aerobatics in the air, be one with the stars, even if it was only for a moment.
The other ravens laughed at them for being a mute, cawing about how unique their voices were. Their rough accent always annoyed Nocturne, like their first times writing. Their voices were like sandstone compared to the ripple of water that the civilized creatures could speak. And so fluently too. Oh how Nocturne wished they could be like them, but no, they never had the ability to speak the common language. Unlike everyone else, they were feral. Wild. Ones that you could kill for prey. They had only survived after the fire by their ability to learn. Learn things that they shouldn't learn. No other raven could write, and especially not like them. They could write with their mind. almost without thinking now.
Returning to the present, they tossed a few twigs into the flames to feed it. The fire licked at it, wanting more. But not yet. Like the fire and the fuel, Nocturne would survive, family or not, wild or not, alone or not. They had always survived. It would be a terrible shame to their possibly dead family if they just gave up and returned to the wild. To speak the obnoxious, scratchy voices of their fellow ravens. They weren't one of them. They were civilized now. Hell, they were even a high-position in The District. They stared into the fire, and their soul burned just as passionately as the flames that roared.

"These words are so... odd." Nocturne wrote. Then, they started copying down the words on the page onto another piece of parchment. Maybe they could study more languages in their spare time, "Do you think being multilingual would be useful?" For what they've seen, almost everyone spoke the common language. It wasn't called common for nothing after all.

Alright, noted!
The District is like completely inactive rn so that's real bad
Any tips to up activity?
"Name and business?" The raven queried. If they hadn't reached the visitor, they doubted anyone else would. After all, everyone seemed tired and the land was bitterly cold. Personally, they hadn't greeted any visitors as of yet, but it didn't feel awkward at all. It was so much more comfortable writing on parchment than talking anyways.

So I roleplay in The District and it's been super inactive for the past two weeks. What can I do to boost the activity?
Alright, thank you all so much! I'll use the advice and see how it goes
"Nice to meet you, Flora. I wish you the best in your leadership." They wrote. They had only heard a bit about DarkClan, well The Dark Dynasty now. The District was in good standing with them as far as they knew. "What changes have you made?" Changes. They could be either exciting or the opposite. Flora seemed like someone who would make all the right decisions though.

Nocturne flew in a small forest, their eyes peering through the desolate branches in hopes to find some food. Alike the forest, the ground was also barren. No signs of scurrying appeared on the thick blankets of snow. Until a small squeak alerted their presence. Hearing the sound, they quickly veered themselves towards it, finding cowering mice, hoping to make it back to the nest in time. Unfortunately for the rodents, Nocturne had plucked one from the ground. It was extremely slim, with barely any meat on it, but it had to do for now. They seldom ate flesh, but in times like this, plants rarely grew enough berries, and the nuts were too hard to seek out. For now though, they would hold the rodent in their feet, moving on to find more food.

"That's a wonderful motive." Nocturne commented. They didn't know what else they could say in the conversation for now, and there wasn't much news about The District.

”So... what exactly are we doing?” Nocturne asked. They were sure that pawprint identification would be useful somehow. All skills were useful somehow, even if they weren’t at first. Unless it was lazing around, but that wasn’t really a skill.

Hey guys, another question: If the leader hasn't been active since the 20th, am I allowed to just take over (My character is next in line)? I've already dmed the roleplayer about it but what if they don't respond?
The raven had been nervous, but what else could they do? Tanaquil hadn't been present for a while, everyone else had gone silent too. They couldn't take the lack of leadership anymore. When was the last time they had a meeting? They huffed, hesitantly pulling out the ink, the quill, and the parchment before writing down the words that even they feared. If no one had the reins of leadership, they were completely exposed to an outside group devouring them.
"Attention members of The District: I have noticed that we have been inactive for one entire week. One ENTIRE week. Many of you just disappeared. Tanaquil has not been present and it is important for her to be active as Nightkeeper. As the next-in-line for leadership, I will be taking over as your Nightkeeper. If she wants the position back, she can have it. But for now, I will be leading you. As for the news, it is as follows:
-Blazestar has left to focus on The Frontier. I wish her the best of luck.
-Silkshard is demoted due to lack of activity.
-I will be holding HP tryouts and mass adopts soon due to the lack of activity and HPs.
~Nocturne."
Yeah, they were certainly salty. They didn't want their home to go to waste though. They copied the message onto more parchment and posted it all throughout the camp. They then perched atop the cliff, just in case if any Districters had any questions.

I just took over leadership, so now how would I get The District official account and could I start stickying/unstickying stuff?
Sorry for all the questions, this was my first takeover
Alright thank you so much! I’ll wait a few days to see if the previous leader replies to my message or soemthing.
