CANORIS ETERNITE
with broken wings I will fly
Canoris instinctively stiffened when Speedfreak approached - her and Elian still elicited those responses from her pretty easily, but it was getting better. She relaxed once she realized her posture, but was careful to make sure he remained out of her blind spot. The apology was surprising and left Canoris speechless for a moment. When she was finally able to gather her thoughts, she simply nodded and said, "Thank you." He was just doing as the Ruins encouraged, and her birds had had the chance to get away. They'd flown into their own death - they'd loved Canoris that much - and the ebony wolf would never forget that. That being said, if tiny birds were pelting towards her, she'd probably swat them away as well.
When Evangeline approached, Canoris offered a small, fleeting smile in response to the one given. "It depends, honestly," She answered, thinking about how particularly stubborn this bunch seemed to be. "How they get along with one another... their intelligence, or rather, willingness to listen to me. I've already replaced a couple that just didn't want to be around. They need to be willing if I'm to trust them - but I offer them a pretty safe haven all things considered." Free rides, protection from a wolf, all in exchange for just telling her what to do? Canoris suspected most hummingbirds would jump at the opportunity, but some of the little twats seemed particularly against being contained.
She respected that.
Her eye brightened when Elian asked to spar. She was anxious about sparring someone who previously almost killed her, but it would be better than sparring someone like Speedfreak who had bested her at the height of her strength. Well, she was caught by surprise, but that was besides the point... And while Canoris was sure Evangeline was tough, she couldn't see herself wanting to spar against someone like her. She wouldn't want to hurt her, but Canoris would never say it aloud to Eva. They were in the Ruins, after all, but something about their relationship made Canoris want to stay her paw. "That would be nice. We could use the practice." She said to Elian, nodding a brief greeting towards Bloodpoppy as she approached. She hadn't met the priestess officially, but she knew the girl had spunk enough for the lot of them.
As she squared up to Elian and gently shook her pelt, her hummingbirds dashed into the air and into formation. Three on each side, staggered in the air, never quite hovering in the same place for more than a breath. Good, good. "Your move first?" She suggested with a slight tilt of her head, fluffing her pelt in order to signal to her birds to be ready for an attack.
She glanced over her shoulders at the others on the sidelines, "They could use names, too, if you guys wanted to help. Single syllable only though, please." And then she turned her head back to her opponent, ready to fight.
