    RELATIONSHIP STATS - 1/31/18

    notes

    Gameover's AI is based on relationships. His interactions with your character will be based on the "bond" formed between them, in the form of a stat bar.

    Negative numbers mean Gameover does not like your character. The lower the number, the more likely he is to respond to your character in a hostile manner, regardless of their actions or words. If the relationship bar becomes too low, your character will likely be attacked on sight. If the negative bar is maxed out, Gameover will not hesitate to attempt to kill your character.

    Positive numbers means Gameover likes your character, or is simply on a neutral-friendly stance towards them. The higher the number, the friendlier and more open Gameover is likely to be. Those with a higher relationship term with him will be more likely to get his attention, and he will stay closer to them in any given group. If the bar is maxed out, Gameover will not hesitate to die for your character.

    Anything in between -100 to +100 is considered neutral. Anything beyond is when the effects of your relationship with him will start to become noticeable.

    (Because this will include every person he has met ICly, this list will get pretty big and has to be put in a separate post. This will include members of other Clans. Names will be alphabetical for ease. If he has met the character but has not developed a positive/negative relationship with them, it'll remain blank.)

    STATUS CONDITIONS

    tumblr_p3fwuzt2491w0gb9mo1_75sq.png - BLEED [occurs when given a severe wound or multiple. will continuously sap away a little HP at a time until the bleeding eventually stops, is cured, or until Gameover dies. will make him weaker.]

    tumblr_p3ej6s9BJi1w0gb9mo1_75sq.png - ELECTRIFIED [better known as PARALYSIS. will hinder Gameover's movements and slow him down, making him more vulnerable to attacks.]

    tumblr_p3ekr9Wzdl1w0gb9mo1_75sq.png - FROZEN [a somewhat rare condition. Gameover will be rendered completely immobile for a period of time, or until thawed by someone else.]

    tumblr_p3fvymQ7g31w0gb9mo1_75sq.png - BURN [pretty self-explanitory. like BLEED, it will slowly sap away a little HP at a time, as well as weakening Gameover's attacks.]

    tumblr_p3fwyu91Kv1w0gb9mo1_75sq.png - POISONED [can follow after the BLEED ailment, which would be the equivalent of an infection. can also be caused by venom or poisonous items. slowly saps away HP and strength until cured or until Gameover dies.]

    (N/A) - SLEEP [can be caused by hypnosis or by free will. when caused by free will, it can heal a varying amount of hp and, in some cases, status ailments. hypnosis by others will not give these benefits and will simply render Gameover vulnerable.]

    tumblr_p3g1t2hx3f1w0gb9mo1_75sq.png - DIZZINESS [caused by rapid spinning, or a sign of disorientation. Gameover will become uncoordinated, often stumbling or missing in battle. has a rare chance of appearing after BLEED.]

    ATTACK IN BOLD #6f90ea - TAGS

    //OOC

    Enemies changing forms was rare- never in a million levels would Gameover think that this giant beast was the same komodo dragon that controlled the dark flames. It just wasn't logical.

    As a horrid shriek tore out from above, the pixelated feline jumped, scrambling to find a spot out from beneath the trees. As he halted at the center of camp, the blocky cat seemed to lock in place. It was a dragon. A massive, flaming dragon. He was here to kill. He was here to kill his friends.

    Gameover seemed to tick, something in him telling him he had to attack this beast. This boss. Perhaps it was time to go to the next level. But until then, he had to protect them. He had to fight.

    Rearing onto his hindlegs, his face twisted into a snarl as he reached up with his paws, a bolt of electricity tearing through the sky with a boom as he tried to strike the dragon. Protect. He had to protect. Were there any scrolls he had on hand? Could he make a barrier? He didn't have time to look. He had to take it out fast- or at the very least, weaken it.

    ATTACK IN BOLD #6f90ea - TAGS

    //OOC

    He didn't know anything about the real world. He'd been living in his own, pixelated realm for decades. Everything, as he'd noticed, had a set attack pattern and defense tactics and anything of the sort. It had a system, and he found comfort in it. He didn't know anything about this strange world he'd been tossed into. It all looked so different- where he'd come from, there were no trees. There was no natural sunlight or moonlight, and water was a rarity. No, his life was spent living in dark underground passages filled with monsters that were set to kill him. The Master was his only friend, as far as he knew. And he had to protect them, at all costs, fighting by their side. But they were gone now, and he was alone.

    But in this place, nothing was predictable. He couldn't anticipate attacks and he couldn't predict their skill sets or their attacks or speed or defense. He was completely in the dark. Ironic, wasn't it?

    Gameover's eyes widened as the enemy lifted his metallic arm, blocking the bullet and sending it flying back towards him. With an exclamation point above his head doing a poor job at portraying his surprise, the feline dove out of the way as the fireball shot past him. Sprawled across the grass, a shivering speech bubble replaced the exclamation point, the simple words ["Oh, jeez..."] filling it before it popped. He pushed himself to his paws. Well, that wouldn't work.

    Above Madscience's head, a hollow, white bar appeared, a small portion of it filling with a red color as, next to it, the numbers '-30' made an appearance. Gameover's face creased in the beginnings of a growl as he faced the much bigger cat. He was going to lose this battle. He knew that. But if he could at least weaken him, then that would be enough.

    If fire wouldn't work, he'd have to try something else. Abruptly rearing onto his hindlegs, the dark cat's tail lashed for balance as a bolt of equally pixelated lightning shot from his paws, aiming right for MADS FAUST G.   He had to make this work. Eyes narrowed at his opponent, a small circle briefly spun above him as he planned his next move.

    //museless rip me

    A grin spread across his face as the lightning struck home, but it was short lived as the dragon began to dive down, headed straight for him. Falling back onto all fours, Gameover began to scramble to get out of the way, but he was too late as its talons snatched him off the ground, carrying him into the air. He struggled in vain, eyes wide as an exclamation point failed to portray his terror.

    Jaws gaped in a soundless wail, he gripped the dragon's talons with his paws as he attempted to give it another shock.

    The lightning was a last ditch effort, his eyes wide in a constant fear as his enemy rapidly approached. I’m going to lose, I’m going to lose, I’m going to lose- Master! He quietly pleaded for the Hero, the only friend he had ever known for the longest of time. But he was gone. Gameover was alone. He was alone. Abandoned. The solitary word screamed inside of him as the tiger dealt his blow.

    There was the deep pain of the strike, which soon turned to searing as the electricity coursed through him. [“Gah-!”] The bubble didn’t last long. It shuddered, disintegrated, replaced by a massive -50. All movement stopped. Gameover froze in place, all velocity brought to a jarring halt.

    His body fell away, breaking apart as he collapsed into a pile of pixels, a loud, old-school death sound ringing out into the air. Slowly, large, white words materialized in the air, outlined by thick black.

    GAME OVER.

    A small, blinking black box appeared below it, thin white letters asking a simple question.

    Continue?

    //sobs at the lack of muse

    Briefly, a feeling of accomplishment passed through him as his attack did its work, but it was short-lived when the dragon merely tightened its grip on him. His eyes widened further, but he couldn’t struggle against the grip anymore- he was trapped. The growl resonated through the air, and Gameover glanced down at the ground far below. Staring at the minute form of Sweetophelia, his jaws gaped in a soundless plea for help.

    //oof very late sorryyyy

    Gameover had bee taken. He had been taken right out of the BlizzardClan camp, snatched away by the boss who didn’t want him dead just yet. He was afraid, but mystified at the same time. He wasn’t dead yet. Clutched in the dragon’s claws, he stared at the ground far below as the islands faded in the distance. Would he ever come back?

    He ungracefully hit the ground as he was dropped, a -10 floating in the air before popping. With a wince, he pushed himself to his paws, rubbing his eyes. Immediately he scrambled away from the dragon, whipping around as he crouched down, a shield- like emote appearing before vanishing. Would he have to fight?

    //i've had no muse recently and it's painful- i haven't posted at all in two days

    Gameover froze in place as the fiery beast spoke. Spoke. Bosses weren't supposed to talk. They were supposed to kill. It wasn't attacking. Why wasn't it attacking?

    The pixelated felinoid's body briefly glitched, and he took another step back. He didn't trust this. Not at all. With a shake of his head, he reared up, teeth baring in a snarl as he attempted to electrocute the dragon with a bolt of lightning shot from his paws. He had to kill it.

    //OOC

    Fighting was all he’d ever known. He didn’t enjoy it, per se, but it brought him comfort. A sense of familiarality. He had the Master by his side, and theyadventured into the darkness time and time again to defeat the evils that lurked within. He didn’t often see dragons, but they were the most ferocious, bloodthirsty bosses of them all.

    But this one wasn’t attacking. It wasn’t fighting, it wasn’t trying to torch him. I won’t hurt you, it said. That wasn’t how this worked. Everything has an order. Everything was supposed to act a certain way- everything was supposed to do a certain something. But this dragon wasn’t doing that something. This was wrong. This was all wrong.

    Gameover glitched again. This was wrong.He was afraid. Nothing was the same anymore. This was wrong, wrong, wrong-

    A jagged speech bubble burst into existence, a single word that was unable to be screamed. [“NO!”] He was shaking now, taking steps back as he shook his head. Vanari had put his foot down, bringing the feloniod to hunker down on the ground, shrinking in on himself. [“This isn’t... right. That’s not how this works.”] Gameover shook his head again. [“You’re not supposed to talk. Y-you’re supposed to attack and- and I fight back and the Master...”] The clicking of text cut off as the speech stopped, the bubble vanishing. His virtual reality was being shattered around him, and he planted his paws over his ears as if to block it out.

    //just have your character press the button and he'll come back to life

    it's ya girl cakie back for more

    What happens when he dies? He's reset. Stats, items, everything. Right back to square one. Pixel one? Whatever.

    Some might find it odd that a being such as himself could bleed. Well, his world wasn't quite a kid's game. Then again... kids played whatever they wanted these days. Catch yourself talking to an eight year old on a game with hookers and criminals. But Gameover wasn't aware of the fact that his Hero- his Master was simply a puppet to whatever soul drifted by, dropping two measly quarters into the slot. Every time such a thing happened, his life was reset. Over, and over, and over again. He tried so hard to protect him. He really did. But it never worked. He'd never seen what was beyond that final door. The only life he'd ever known was the same corridors, pitch black, save for the flickering light of torches and the glowing eyes of hostile creatures that lurked in the shadows. Gameover was the Hero's beacon in the dark. In literal terms, anyway. The white star-like flecks in his pelt and eyes offered the glow that allowed them to see, even if just a little bit.

    A red teardrop shape hung over his head as he stumbled along. Bleed. One of many terrible status ailments. He could feel his HP draining, every few steps at a time as the blocky crimson substance dripped from his deep blue frame. He'd been attacked by a monster much larger than he was. Range was his power, but the feline had been jumped and mauled before he could get away and attack. Having decided he would die from the wounds afflicted, the beast had lumbered back off into the trees, satisfied.

    Strength steadily being sapped away from him, the companion creature slumped against a tree, pixelated flanks rising and falling in a silent breath. The bark of the redwood tree was melting away as it transformed into the strange blocks that made up the feline's body, spreading outward before coming to an abrupt stop. The grass beneath him did the same. A long silence began to stretch out, the icon bouncing softly over his head.

    He couldn't stay here- he had to get some kind of medicine before it was too late. Slowly, he pushed himself to heavy paws as he continued to lug himself along, head low. It was too late. He should have moved faster. He was going to die.

    His body froze stiff, locked in place as his clock seemed to stop. The red drop above him vanished, replaced with a large red zero. His body began to fall away, collapsing into a pile of pixels as an old school sound rang out into the forest. An arcade death sound. As the last pixels settled into place on the ground, two large and blocky words seemed to emerge from nowhere as they began to bounce, spinning in a circle.

    GAME OVER.

    Following suit, a small button appeared below it, blinking in an alternating white and black.

    Continue?

    //OOC

    Everything was dark. He was aware something was off, but at the same time, he didn't. The conscience of who he was just mere minutes ago struggled to keep itself together as the void threatened to rip it apart. It hurt. He just wanted it to stop. Once it did, he would continue on his way and-

    Gone, just like that.

    With no hesitance or mercy, Gameover's data was torn apart as soon as Bianca's paw touched the button. His programming reformed itself, building stacks of code and number sequences as the information stored on itself was deleted. Bare bones. His most basic programming. That was all that was left.

    The pile of blue-ish blocks laying dejectedly in the grass and snow trembled before lifting themselves off the ground, spiraling around each other as they began to piece together to form a... cat? A blocky cat. A blue blocky cat. With glowing orange eyes. Oh, and a pouch strapped to his back.

    Briefly, a question mark shivered in the air above his head. It disappeared as he shook his head. An expression of mild confusion crossed his face. What had he been doing? This wasn't the Lobby. He blinked. His eyes locked on the canine before him. A grin broke out across his features, and a large, rectangular bubble stretched out above him. Instead of speaking words, a clicking sound was all that escaped his mouth, reminiscent to that of old RPG games. Text began to fill the speech bubble. ["Hello! It's nice to meet you!"]

    Without warning, a panel blinked into existence before the curious dog. At the top, in a brown section, a simple explanation. You have encountered a Naghi! Would you like to give it a nickname? Below it was an empty space and, below that, an English keyboard.

    ATTACK IN BOLD #6f90ea - TAGS

    //dw libra it won’t be hard to get the stat out of the negatives- it’s still technically neutral <‘:

    Gameover seemed to be completely oblivious to the existence of the floating panel, instead sitting cheerfully on the grass as he continued to stare at Bianca, smiling. His tail waved slowly from side to side. His mind was a little fuzzy as his programming kicked in. [“I’m a Naghi!”] the speech bubble above him read. [“I can help you along your journey. There are dangerous creatures out there. I can help guide you through the dark and fight the monsters.”] His gaze was unblinking as the Tutorial mode swept on. The feline twisted around, tapping the pack on his back with a bright blue paw. Almost immediately a large, rectangular panel stretched into existence before him. With a tap on the lower corner, the panel spun around to face the gathering crowd of Hawkclanners. [“This is called a Menu. Here you can find your Inventory, Gear, Stats, Quests, and Achievements.”] A bright yellow, pixelated arrow began pointing to various tabs on the menu as he spoke. It moved to the upper right corner, where it pointed to a green, crystalline-like shape. [“These are Kyrids. Kyrids are a rare crystal that can be used as currency to buy potions, weapons, armor, and more. You can obtain them by finding them or defeating monsters, who enjoy hoarding them. And this-“] The speech bubble’s text halted as Gameover’s eyes locked on Thea.

    Dragon.

    His tutorial mechanism was overrided as a ripple of light passed through his body. Dragons meant danger. Dragons were among the most dangerous of monsters. They were sly- ruthless. They stopped at nothing to destroy everything in their path.

    The pixelated cat’s head lowered, ears flattening to his head as his orange gaze turned up to the reptile. Above her, a thin white bar materialized. A tiny sliver of it became red as the number -100 appeared. Both vanished. Something in the back of his mind told him he was in a Safe Zone. Nothing would attack him here. Regardless, he eyed Thea warily.

    gameover's from a video game, and in that video game, he is a companion character, much like navi in zelda

    except he's quite capable of murder

    as of now, the "hero" of his game - the Player - is nowhere to be found. his memories have been reset with his death, so maybe he could recognize one of y'all as his "hero"?

    all you'd have to do is boost your relationship status with him to a certain level

    after that, the game data that's in his code will offer your player to 'start' the game - which will bring gameover to see your character as the Hero

    and he'll start trailing your character around everywhere and doing what he generally does in his game

    he'll be defensive af too so possessive warning b/c that's his job

    'starting' the game will mean gameover's data will sync with your character

    nothing will change about your character except for the fact that they might get item and loot drops from caught prey and can access the Menu

    but if you want it to be more in-depth than that then dm me and i'll explain the game more

    //this could be a mass meet and greet too! other newcomers are welcome to join in!

    (also it’s fine that y’all decided to call him Salem in his joining thread- it’ll be changed soon anyway)

    After long and many inquiries as to just what this thing was, the gathered group of HawkClanners had decided to name it Salem. The name had been typed with the floating keyboard, and after pressing ‘Enter’, the pixelated feline had introduced himself as Salem. He didn’t really have a name of his own- the Player was the one who named him. Like a pet of sorts, even though he was an actual character rather than just a mindless companion built for battle.

    This place was a Safe Zone. A town? Were there merchants he could barter with or buy from? He didn’t have any Kyrids, though... or any items, for that matter.

    Seeing the many different characters milling about and strolling by, he was compelled to introduce himself. Maybe one of them had a Quest to give! Cheered at the thought, Salem shuffled to the center of the cold clearing, each step transforming the ground into pixels before they returned to normal as he moved along. Sitting himself down, a small circle of blocks formed around his body. He was smiling- the companion was generally cheerful.

    An emote briefly appeared above his head. A bright yellow exclamation point. It was then replaced with a speech bubble as it stretched out above him. A repetitive clicking was the only sound heard as text began to type itself out within the bubble. [”Hello! It’s nice to meet you! My name is Salem.”]

    //OOC

    He had died. Again. His stats were quite low- it couldn’t be helped. He’d been wandering the forest, staring at the snow-patched ground in fascination. He’d repeatedly pressed his paw into the snow, watching the stuff transform into pixels around it. As soon as he lifted it from the snow, the blocks melted into the smooth, glittery snow from before. Only this time, a paw print (a normal one, not a blocky one) had been left behind. His paws were cold and tingling, but he repeated the process nonetheless. At one point during his exploration, he’d contracted the frozen status, his body completely stiff while a snowflake bounced above his head.

    But how did he die? Impact damage. The idiot had seen something sparkly nestled in the branches of a tree. Excited, thinking it was a Kyrid, he’d scaled the trunk of the redwood all the way up, only to discover that it had been an icicle. The thin little branch below him had been transformed into pixels and snapped under his weight. He’d plummeted to the earth before hitting it with a large thud. A big red number, -80, had dictated his fate. His body collapsed on itself once more as pixels settled into a dejected pile. The ominous words settled themselves in the air once again.

    GAME OVER.

    Along with Continue? floating below it, this time, there was something different. The button was faint, occasionally glitching out in the air as it bounced and spun with the rest of the words. It was then Aron had found him, pressing the half-broken button that shouldn’t have been there. The entire mass of pixels glitched momentarily. Then, out of the blue, a panel appeared before Aron. What is your name, Hero? Aron, of course.

    The floating items disappeared one at a time, leaving only the leopard and the pile of pixels. One by one, the blocks rose into the air, spiraling around each other before they connected to form the stiff figure of a blue cat with orange eyes and a pouch on its back. It blinked once, twice. A friendly grin broke out on its features as a bubble stretched out above its head. [“Hello! It’s nice to meet you!”] The second panel appeared. Annoying Blue Testi- nope. Gameover, then. Gameover continued without missing a beat. The Tutorial mode had been activated: [“My name is Gameover. I’m a Naghi- one of many creatures you’ll encounter in this world.”] The clicking sound continued on, only pausing for the text in the bubble to scroll up to make room for more.

    Unbeknownst to Aron, his soul was being linked to the Naghi’s - Gameover’s - data. He was gaining access to the blocky cat’s code. What did this mean for the leopard? Only time would tell.

    Planting himself on his haunches, the 8-bit cat raised up his paws as something manifested in them. It was a pixelated bag of sorts, blue in color with what seemed to be a white drawstring. [“Here, put this on! With this, you can gain access to the Menu. Watch!”] twisting around, Gameover tapped the pouch on his back with his nose. A large panel blocked him from Aron’s view. Tapping the lower right hand corner, it spun around to reveal a complex, brown screen. The cat shuffled around it to get closer to Aron, setting the pouch down on the ground before him. The string seemed the perfect size to be worn as a necklace. As his paws pulled away, the pixels that made up the bag melted away as it became a natural, smooth object. Turning his head again, the Naghi tapped the pouch on his back with his nose again. The panel winked out of existence. [“Now you try. Put on the necklace, and tap the pouch once to access your Menu.”] Out of the corner of the leopard’s eye, he could spot a yellow exclamation point, followed by white, blocky words. New quest! Access the Menu. It vanished. Silence began to settle on the clearing as the bubble above Gameover’s head finally disappeared. His wide orange eyes were locked on Aron expectantly.

    //OOC

    There were many things Gameover didn’t understand about this place. All the more to explore and discover! He’d been sitting on the outskirts of camp, mouth parted in a look of awe as he stared up, up, up at the tops of the towering redwood trees for the umpteenth time. A loud call brought a twitch of his blue ears, and orange eyes blinked as all the creatures in the clearing began to herd towards the same place. With a question mark voicing his curiosity, the pixelated cat stood up as he trotted over, wedging himself into the crowd. There were a few yelps and indignant looks shot his way as NPCs bumped into his admittedly sharp body, but he paid no notice, too busy wondering what was happening.

    As animals took their seats, Gameover reared onto his hind paws to peer over the crowd. Was Master Aron here? Oh, he sure hoped so. Standing at the back, the pixelated feline began to pace back and forth, scanning the crowd for the leopard he’d decided to dub as Master.

    Weekly Tasks? Oooh, that sounded like a Quest to him! What would his reward be? A sum of Kyrids? A Relic? A potion? With an eager wriggle of his rump, the blocky cat stood up as he ran over to the source of the call. With a grin on his maw, a speech bubble stretched over his head yet again as it voiced what he could not. [“What is this Quest?”] it read. Maybe he would track down the village pest and eliminate it! What was the village pest? Did this place have one?
