"SPEECH" ••• THOUGHTS

Wei was typically out and about as well, more often than usual, even, albeit for different reasons. She simply loved to explore, always hoping to find something that looked like it was straight out of fiction, whether that would be a place, a creature, an artifact, or simply some sort of phenomena that would excite her. She wanted something exciting to happen- it didn't matter what it was. She had met many different creatures out on her adventures, and some of them satisfied such a desire, while others weren't particularly special but were still fun to be around nonetheless. Still, she hadn't found any particularly cool places. There were too many forests in this world and she was sick of seeing nothing but clusters of trees, but she would still often find herself in some sort of forest, or perhaps the occasional meadow, valley, or lackluster beach. Honestly, where were the volcanoes? The castles? The evil lairs? The bustling cities? The caves? Anything that wasn't a forest? Normally, she wouldn't have been this upset with such an issue; it would've been a minor irritation, but she might've found fun in climbing or target practice. Now, though, with her confusing, underlying mix of emotions from recent events with the soon-not-to-be-Black-Isle, she found herself upset much more easily than before, plagued by the same circling thoughts of worry and guilt and anger and annoyance and boredom that she couldn't properly sort. If it weren't for the specific reason behind it all, she might've just stayed home. But it was the upcoming merge that her new home was planning to go through that stressed her, and staying in that home would only make things worse- at least she could identify that fact. This wasn't much better, though.
Huffing as she jogged through yet another forest, the little feline trekked through patches of snow and grass, not quite caring where she went since everything was still the same old clump of trees over and over again. Her focus was switching between intensely focusing on her environment and drifting back to her thoughts, a struggle between her emotions and her denial of them, the pitter-patter of her paws occasionally speeding up with a short burst of speed whenever she needed to waste some energy. This wasn't helping at all. She just couldn't think of anything else other than the merge no matter how hard she tried to. Honestly, she was just about ready to crash into a tree and hope it wiped her memory of the news. That'd work better than jogging and trying to pretend it didn't exist, right? Still, she swayed back to her little cycle of forcing distractions onto herself, mostly because she was a bit afraid of hitting her head that hard, partially because a part of her mind kept tugging her back to the issue as if she needed to endlessly complain about it and drown in her feelings to feel better. Thankfully, there was a stop to this cycle; upon focusing on her surroundings, she suddenly picked up a scent, one that was entirely unfamiliar to her, prompting her to stop in her tracks and try and figure out where it was coming from. She... didn't know who that was. Friend? Foe? Probably not that interesting. Maybe she'd get some fun or a fight out of whoever it was, though. Setting off quickly, the feline followed the scent as she picked up the general direction it came from, swerving between trees with her ears perking at the quiet rush of water once she neared closer.
She finally found the source of the faint scent, squinting to get a better look at the figure through the thinning bushes as she neared what she thought to be a little river. All she saw at first was a whipping tail, then a form she hadn't seen before, confusion quick to spark up in her mind until she stepped out of the foliage, coming to a stop a distance behind the creature. No... she had seen this form before. That... ... was a dinosaur. That was a dinosaur?! No. No. No. No way. She was hallucinating now, wasn't she? Her expression clearly lifted with surprise, and she could already feel her heart wildly thumping through her chest as her eyes widened and slowly blinked, as if she couldn't believe what she was seeing. Well, she really couldn't believe what she was seeing. It... was a dinosaur! A real dinosaur! A real, living dinosaur! They actually existed! They actually existed? Weren't they supposed to be dead? She'd seen a dragon before quite briefly, but... dinosaurs were different! She'd never seen a dinosaur before! Never! She couldn't even bring herself to speak at first, nothing more than a little squeak coming from the femme as her jaw slacked in the slightest, a smile twitching at the corners of her lips. That... was real! It was actually real! She just... she couldn't believe there was actually a dinosaur right in front of her! This was too good to be true!... right, it was too good to be true. Was this a prank?! No, no, it couldn't be! It had to be real! Who would be wearing a raptor suit out in the middle of nowhere and expect someone to come along?! It was totally real! This was an actual dinosaur with real giant claws and real deadly teeth! It was real!
That little squeak became a squeal of pure, childish excitement, and that smile turned into a wide grin, the young teen barely able to attempt a few stutters at speech for a few long moments. Eventually, though, she managed to sputter out words, not quite taking in the possibility that dinosaurs couldn't speak or understand normal speech. "I- I- Y- Th- O-Ohmygod, you're a real dinosaur!"
