• The femme only groaned in response at first, vigorously rubbing her head with a slight visible wince. That hurt. That really hurt. Ramming into a tree at high speeds was a lot more painful than she thought it would be. A part of her was giddy from the little injury, though she pushed such thoughts away; sure, she felt like she had just been in a battle against some sort of monstrous creature, but though she wished it would, pretending didn't change the fact that she crashed while chasing a rabbit and ended up dazed from that. Her head was throbbing with a terrible ache, her shoulders and chest were sore, and her front paws were scraped and felt like they were on fire from skidding against the ground and the splinters of the twisted tree roots writhing from underneath. She wasn't aware of any actual bruises or gashes yet except for the stickiness of blood dripping from a few small cuts on her front paws, and wasn't exactly an expert on identifying hidden wounds, anyways, though the side of her forehead and left, no, right shoulder was practically pulsing with pain a bit more severe than the others.
As she brushed off the thoughts of her potential injuries, the ones of embarrassment became a lot more apparent, and hot anger flushed over her as she stuttered, attempting to sit up straight. "Yeah, yeah... I-I'm fine..." Her front paws slipped and she had to scramble to sit up again, something that she mentally cursed at herself for as it contradicted her words. Great. Not only did she feel like an idiot, she definitely looked like one, too. Searching for something to take the attention off of her slip-up, she mumbled, "U-uh... anyways, I'm still on the path to the waterfall... should we keep going?" She wasn't entirely sure if she was even going the right way, so she made sure to ask for conformation, needing time to orient herself and figure out where she lost her route so she could at least not embarrass herself any more.
