"Hero," Wei repeated, quietly musing to herself with a giggle following her words. She definitely liked the sound of that. It also made her focus a bit more on her path to stop tripping over nothing - heroes didn't do that, that was for sure -, a lighter, more awkward laugh given in response to the playful warning as she trekked on. Though she was catching herself making little mistakes every other second, this expedition had taken a pleasant turn, even more so as Tigerlily came to a conclusion about what she wished to see. "Waterfall! Yeah, I'll find that!" Waterfalls were pretty- pretty dangerous, too. She'd always wanted to jump through one, half to claim victory over the water violently crashing down, half in hopes of finding some sort of secret cave or evil lair behind it. Maybe she'd finally get to accomplish one of those dreams, if not both.

There she stopped, head lifting, ears swiveling and twitching slowly as she attempted to find the place in question. No muffled crash of foamy waters colliding with rocks, no crisp scent, no noticeable humidity in the air... nothing. With this, she quickly grew irritated; so much for her parents claiming that stopping to simply focus was a valuable technique. What was that even supposed to mean in the first place, anyways? She didn't get anything out of it- all it did was slow her down and make her look like an idiot as she gazed around. Still, she couldn't just answer without any results, so she huffed, sharply turning to bound off in a random direction. "This way!"

    • For once, Wei wasn't late. Now that was a start! The doors swung open almost violently as she entered, the little femme pausing to give a nervous glance towards the entrance as the heavy door nearly fell back onto her, scuttling onto the ground in front of Xylia and dragging along Bao. Being early was kind of a shame, actually- now she had nothing to do but wait, huddling into the wooly scarf draped over her and quietly arguing with the feisty giant salamander as he tried to turn back and leave, impatience sparking up in her mind rather quickly. Still, a meeting would probably bring great news, so she still wore a cheery little smile on her face and awaited the announcements with gleaming eyes.

"Crows are cool!" Wei chirped as she wandered over, eyeing the snacks as she held back Bao, sticking her tongue out at him as she pondered over what to eat first. Wait, no, she had to speak first. "I... like cooking! And fighting! And exploring!" She liked a lot of things, really, though risky activities were the ones that brought out the most excitement for her. Cooking wasn't all that dangerous, but she had been learning since she was a tiny kitten, her first ever use of powers achieved to get a wobbly telekinetic grip on a kitchen knife. That was one of her few old memories she still held dear to her, a little smile always spreading across her maws whenever she was reminded of it. "Ambassador program... sounds cool, too!" She didn't quite know what an ambassador was, but the title seemed pretty impressive, something that she expected to see on some powerful figure or ruler. Ambassador Wei. That doesn't sound half bad.

    • Those cliffs near the beach had given Wei an idea. A stupidly dangerous idea, one that someone else could easily regret. But it was also a thrilling, brilliant idea in her eyes, and that outweighed the risks that came along with it, even complimenting the danger to make it rather enjoyable. How could she resist using the diving boards nature itself provided her with? Sure, this time of the year probably wasn't a good time to be crashing headfirst into the chilly sea, but there was no way she'd wait entire seasons to do something now that she had the freedom to try everything she'd ever wanted to try. And so, in the early afternoon as the snow glimmered in the bleak, hazed light of the hidden sun, the feline approached the cliffs, hauling herself over mounds of slippery ice and skidding over stray obstacles, nearing the top where she found a spot where the snow was thin and she could feel the rough, rocky terrain underneath scrape her paws. At first, she thought of simply tipping over the edge, almost rethinking her decisions, but impulses took over and she suddenly broke into a run, dashing across the clifftop and leaping right off of the edge, letting out a shriek of excitement and fear as she plummeted down into the water below.

Oh God, that was cold. Really, really cold. Her first thoughts were taken over by the sheer shock of hitting the icy waters, the femme shuddering violently as cold seeped through her short fur and spiked through her body, limbs trembling uncontrollably as she flailed about. The water was shallower than she expected it to be, and it didn't take long for one paw to slide across the sandy bottom, something that was an impressive achievement and a source of fear for Wei. How was she supposed to get back to the surface? Panicking, she kicked out behind her, continuing to flail about wildly until her head rose from the waters. Thank goodness the waves were calm. "GAH-! Helpmehelpmehelpmehelpmehelpmeeeee! I'm drowniiiiin-?" As she was able to speak, she came to the realization that she was staying afloat fine though her body was still racked by shivers, and with a heavy huff, she began paddling to shore, dipping underneath the water again with eyes shut tight until she was able to stand on the black sands and lift her shoulders over the water.

Once she finally made it out of the water, she started laughing and attempting to shake the water out of her drenched coat, pausing to cough and tremble under her own weight, still making an effort to call out to nobody in particular. "Th-that... was amazi-ing! I'm g-going agaiiin!" But, despite her eager yet weak words, she collapsed onto the beach as soon as she took another step, giggling and wheezing as she tried to get back up but failed. Still... that was worth it. Definitely worth it.

    • Wei's slight irritation in herself vanished in an instant as she felt Tigerlily crash into her side, the femme squealing in surprise and stumbling for a moment before she swiftly regained her footing, incoherently stammering over her squeaky words. "I-I... uh... y-yeah, um, it's fine!" She ended up even more flustered than the other by the collision, heat flushing through her cheeks as she swerved back around and dashed off again, heart thumping and practically threatening to break out of her chest. Part of her was embarrassed from such a situation, though a larger part of her definitely wouldn't mind that happening again, thoughts escalating until she wildly shook her head and buried them underneath. She was here to find a waterfall, not to find out how far her imagination could go.

Though Tiger regained her charisma, she was still quite flustered when she heard the question, voice excessively lively and stupidly prideful from her wavering nervousness. "Yep! Waterfall's this way! I know where we're going!" If it wasn't obvious enough that she wasn't paying attention as to where she was actually heading, she walked straight into a bush, jumping backwards and summoning up a knife to slash away the twisted foliage in a frenzy of confusion and panic, the little feline frozen in place after she let out a short yelp and stared at the mess of diced leaves on the ground. That... was not a monster. It was a bush. She was certainly quick to start bounding off again after a short pause of silence from her, knife fading out as slowly as her realization dawned upon her. "... moving on!"

    • In her frenzy of excitement and sheer panic, Wei didn't quite notice Pit until she heard his voice, head lifting out of the sand to swivel towards him, gaze much too bright and cheery for her shuddering, soaked body. At least someone else was here to join her in her strange activities, even if she didn't know this particular Isleite; the more the merrier, after all. Plus, she now knew she wouldn't die, so she could probably go for some cool dive or cannonball instead of just running off the cliff. Her mind began to light up with possibilities of surfing, searching for treasure, fighting sharks, and all sorts of dangerous water-related 'games' until she forced herself to focus the one at hand she had yet to finish doing. "G-great! Just fol-follow meeee!"

Then Ashina showed up, and she couldn't help but to tilt her head at her words, an action that was meant to be subtle but ended up with her entire head exaggeratedly lolling to one side due to the state of her freezing body. Be careful? If she was being even a little bit careful, she wouldn't be diving at all. The words did have kind intentions, though, something that Wei was at least able to recognize even if she wouldn't follow them. "Mm-kay! Ei, wh-hy don't you join m-me?" Without waiting for an answer, she shakily lifted herself onto her paws, swaying and staggering as she tried to bolt back up to the top of the cliff, though it was more of a speedy stumble as she continued to shiver and wheeze with both laughter and the cold.

it's good that we have more activity than before- it's not a massive improvement, but it's still an improvement! noelle will be here in a month or two, too! speaking of noe, her companion might just show up here with gifts and claim to be noelle's sister / impersonate noe just to cause some entertaining confusion because why not i might put a character related to wei's past up for adoption (who'd stay in the black isle for a p long time for plot reasons) but i'm still debating over that

a naval war sounds really interesting tbh! can't wait for it to start up!

    • What could possibly sound more exciting than 'treasure caverns'? Well, she could think of plenty of answers to that, but just the sound of the place caught her immediate interest when she heard about it from a fellow Isleite. She didn't eavesdrop any further past the general location of it, though; finding out what was in there was most of the fun. It was obviously going to have treasure in it, but whether that meant intricate jewelry, a collection of legendary weapons, or ancient artifacts of wisdom was unknown to her, and she was always determined to make the unknown known. So, in the middle of the day, she had set off to the rows of cliffs near the black sand beaches, trudging through snow with a scarf wrapped around her petite body until she spotted a gaping entrance, the femme wasting no time in bounding straight in.

Bounding turned into a daring jump as she felt no more snow underneath her paws, the feline squealing as she realized what she had done upon her impulses. What was with her and taking dangerous leaps recently? This time, though, no sheer cold immediately sank into her, and she was able to focus on the rapidly approaching spikes of rock during her fall, screeching and panicking as she realized she was about to impale herself. In her terror, she summoned up her flying claws, the weapon wildly swinging as the claw managed to hook onto a protruding nook in the sloping ceiling not too far above, swinging Wei in an arc and allowing her to scramble onto the stone as her claws desperately dug into the dents. Heart pounding with thrilling fear, she glanced down at the ground below, still panicking until she froze with a deadpan expression towards no one in particular. Right. She could teleport. She often forgot she had such an ability; it was a memory that involved her family, and she had forcibly pushed back all memories of her family into the depths of her mind upon arriving to her new home.

With a sigh, she focused on the ground below and felt a rush of violent wind sweep through her fur, finding herself on the ground a moment later. It wasn't quite how she expected herself to end up, though, and she had to take a moment to stand up and orient herself as she ended up facedown on the floor, legs trembling as her flying claws crashed down on her back after a few seconds. At least it was the blunt side- both the floor and her weapon. Rubbing a small scrape next to her aching nose, she lightened up as soon as she saw the lights above her, wide eyes glittering as a gasp of amazement escaped her maws. Naturally, she had no idea what was the source of the teal glow dappled across the cavern walls stretched out beyond her, and naturally, she was going to find out. She didn't even make it a step before something bumped against her paw, eyes widening further as she looked down to see what it was.

"AAAAAAAAAHH- ahh... aha... ahahaha-!" In front of her was a skull more than triple the size of her own, half buried under the rocky floor with the stones scraping against its worn ivory surface, an ancient preservation of yellowed bone extended into two spiraled horns that curved into the ground behind. At first, sheer horror instinctively took over, the femme screaming and practically jumping out of her skin, still fearful even as she descended into nervous laughter instead. This looked like the head of some sort of evil beast! How cool was that?! Voice wavering with a mix of terror and excitement, she called out at the highest volume she could manage, hoping someone would be around to notice her discovery, also secretly wanting someone near her as the cave suddenly seemed a lot more creepy. Was another one of this... thing still alive? "Something's dead down here!... uh, I think it died a long time ago, though... but it looks like some sort of monster!" Hopefully she was right. While waiting for someone to arrive, she began pawing at the loose shards of rock around the front of the skull, trying to see if she could possibly uncover what she expected to be massive, razor-sharp teeth below.

    • She didn't know what an ambassador was, but it sounded cool enough for her to want to be one. Trotting over, the femme remained silent for a moment, a bit jealous as Ash claimed Colouredclan for herself. She still wanted to climb the rock pillars she saw when she visited, but she could always go in her own time, right? She didn't remember any other allies except for one she thought she faintly remembered visiting and hearing about, and she decided to pipe up with an offer after mustering up the courage to do so with an additional question. "I'll take the... Rift... right? Yeah! Also, um... what do we do, exactly? I mean, I know what an ambassador is, but this kind of ambassador might have more or less jobs... yeah." A lie - not a very good one -, but it saved her precious pride, at least.

"Weekly tasks, one or two... Two! I want two!" Wei called out as she passed by, ears perking at the mention of tasks and again at the mention of candied fruits. She remembered giving out weekly tasks recently, and the ones she handed out all seemed pretty fun to her, tasks that she would've definitely loved to have done if she had been on the receiving end. Now she got to do exactly that, and she knew of a place to find free snacks. Perfect.

"R-right," she mumbled, laughing along before cutting herself off. It was embarrassing, but at least a distraction was quick to pop up and distract the two away from... whatever she had just done. She, too, was quick to catch onto the musky smell, stopping in her tracks to lift her head and swivel her ears, listening along to Tigerlily as she did so. Nope, she had no idea what that was. Maybe if her parents let her actually go anywhere, she might've been able to identify more smells, but no, it was too dangerous and terrible out there for a pretty little kitty like her. Well, now she was faced with something that could possibly be even more dangerous since she couldn't immediately identify it, so guarding her from peril seemed like it was about to backfire.

As she shook off those bitter thoughts, excitement began to well up within her, the tiniest of smiles curving her maws as she turned in the direction the scent was coming from. Surely it had to be some sort of monstrous creature she had never seen before; that was the only possible explanation she could think of, also being the first wild creation of her imagination that sprung up. Finally, she got to fight off some sort of beast! Straightening up her posture, she rashly called out, smile morphing into a daring grin as her heart began to drum louder. "HEY! Uh... reveal thine... um... reveal thyself, o foul beast!" She'd fight whatever was there right here and now, with a witness she was already eager enough to impress.

    • Well, here she was, lost in unknown lands again. Wei had decided on a whim to sail out and go exploring, still desiring to seek out excitement from afar despite having plenty of mysteries to explore back home, the little feline docking her boat on some random coast and dashing through a blur of nothing more than an average landscape. Forests, fields, meadows, the usual. It wasn't anything special that she thought she should pay special attention to. She was looking for something worth stopping to observe, something that would catch her attention and lead her to a place that she had previously thought would only exist in fiction, something that would end with a wondrous discovery or a legendary battle. Thankfully, as she heard some sort of strange, ominous clinking and howling from afar, her expectations were perfectly met.

A light breeze rustling her smoky pelt, the femme slowed down as she approached the source of the noise, eyes lit with great curiosity as the stark contrast of ivory against misty darkness sharpened into visible shapes. They were... wind chimes. Made of bones. They were lined up neatly, singing their sorrowful melody as if to ward off anyone who had dared to come this close, Wei's fur prickling and raising at the light feeling that swirled in her chest upon her continued approach. It wasn't entirely fear, no; in fact, it was mostly sheer excitement, a small, daring smile twitching at the corners of her muzzle. Surely there had to be some sort of monstrous, creepy beast behind this morbid decoration, and if there was such a beast nearby, she was determined to at least take a look at it, if not defeat it in an epic duel of some sorts.

Despite her temptations to shout a challenge right then and there, she held back, noting the strangely strong scent of the area before electing to dismiss it and press on, a thin trail of smoke floating from her as a dagger materialized besides her head. She had to be ready, after all.

    • As Feverdreams drew closer, she felt her fur prickle up in a way unlike before, a queasy sort of nervousness striking her as if it was trying to tell her something, warning her of an approaching danger. Pushing away this nervousness, she lifted her head high and swiveled her gaze, eyes locking onto a stranger who was much closer than she had expected. With a little exclamation of surprise, the femme dug her paws into the ground, forcing herself to not jump backwards as the soft voice greeted her. Despite the friendliness, her knife did not disappear, almost pressed to her cheek as she stared and listened. Was she the one who made those bone chimes? As long as that was a possibility, she was keeping her weapon out, ready for any fight that could break out, a fight she hoped for as excitement drummed through her heart. This encounter didn't seem to be heading that way, though.

Feverdreams- that was her name. It reminded her of Luciddreams, though the two didn't look similar at all. While her mind wandered to the topic of appearances, she noticed the wound in the other's neck, blatant surprise entering her expression as her brows furrowed and her eyes widened. Someone walking with a wound like that... there was only one possibility, and she couldn't resist blurting it out. "Are... are you a zombie?!" It could possibly seem surprising that there was no hostility whatsoever in her voice; it was only tinged with pure curiosity, gaze glittering with the intrigue that was held back from forming a little smile on her maws. Had she actually found a real zombie? She thought those only existed in fiction, yet here she was, coming across someone with a massive tear in her neck that she thought she couldn't possibly survive without becoming undead.

Forgetting to introduce herself in return, she spoke up again after a short pause, tone lightened up a bit with childish enthusiasm. "I sailed here to explore. Is this place a graveyard or some creepy haunted place? Are you all cursed?" She naturally assumed there was more than one creature living here; there was never only one zombie lurking around, after all. Would she get an answer to her questions? She was uncertain of that. "Feverdreams" was able to speak, so she figured she'd get a response, but would a zombie just explain everything to her? Probably not, but she could hope.

    • Wei almost didn't see the purely white cougar amongst the blankets of snow covering the island, simply going about her day with a striped scarf bunched up around her neck, trudging through the frozen ground off to wherever her wandering mind would take her. Her mind ended up leading her to nearly walk straight into Permafrost, stopping a few feet away from him as she saw ripples of movement and realized that that was one of her fellow Isleites, not a heap of snow. Might as well stop and say hi, considering she was rather close now. "Hi!... what are you doing?" He seemed to be looking for something, but for what, she didn't know. She had forgotten about all the weekly tasks except for the ones she had received.

    • • - I KNOW WHERE THE GREENER GRASS GROWS, YOU'LL JUST HAVE TO FOLLOW TO THE OTHER SIDE! - • •

"What do we do?" Wei was practically grinning from cheek to cheek by now, a dangerously excited glimmer in her determined gaze shining through as she glanced back at Tigerlily, her only reaction to the rustling being a slight flinch and a wider smile. Her heart was about to break out of her chest, she thought, and a strange feeling constricted the area around it, somehow making her chest feel light and heavy at the same time. Was it pure exhilaration? Fear, perhaps? Nervousness, in case if she messed up somehow and ended up fleeing with her tail tucked between her legs? The first option was what she chose to label it as, pushing back any rising worries over what could possibly happen. She had this situation under control. "You can just sit back and watch! I'll take care of this!"

Turning back to the now loudly rustling bush, she summoned up two daggers that hovered above her in a thin wreath of smoke, holding back an audible wince at the painful dizziness that rocked her head for a moment from the conjuration. A little momentary headache wouldn't hold her back, not at all. With a sharp, deep breath, she called out, "I said reveal yourself!" The two weapons whizzed towards the bush in a swift telekinetic motion, meant to land somewhere just on the outside of it. She didn't want to injure whatever was approaching right away; that wouldn't make an impressive, drawn-out fight. Plus, she wanted to see what was lurking in their, limbs tensed and petite body lowered in a battle-ready position in preparation for that moment.

    • • - I KNOW WHERE THE GREENER GRASS GROWS, YOU'LL JUST HAVE TO FOLLOW TO THE OTHER SIDE! - • •

    • Wei was rather eager for her first weekly task- she got to sail all the way to the mainland and pick up supplies, something that sounded like a little side quest to her. Those were always fun. This seemed pretty important, too, and her mind was set on succeeding with a fiery determination and excitement that fueled it. Perhaps she'd do a bit more exploring on the main island once she arrived there, as she hadn't been given enough time to investigate every nook and cranny before the Black Isle moved to their new wintery island. Along with everything else, the tropical weather would be a nice change from the eternal snow that blanketed the ground here, something that lead her to wait for the moment she could fling her scarf off and dive into the warm sands in great anticipation.

Of course, she wasn't going to go alone. As fun as it would be to have total freedom and separation from others in this little supply run, she needed more Isleites to help her out with finding such supplies and loading them onto the boat, as well as someone to help her navigate to the main island. She thought she remembered the way, and although getting lost was more of an adventure than an impediment for her, she had a mission to accomplish, sparing her no time for detours. Unfortunate, but she figured she would have plenty of fun. She would be leading a gang of crewmates on an expedition to the island, looking over the glittering ocean as others rushed about and steered the ship, venturing into lush jungles and along the perfect coasts with her fellow pirates to scavenge for important supplies... it already sounded perfect to her. Even if she didn't get to take a little side trip along the way.

As the sun hid behind sheets of clouds in the cold morning, she stood upon the deck of the main ship, a wide smile spreading across her maws as she proudly lifted her head and called out, the courage to do so already swelled up by the sheer excitement buzzing in her. "Isleites, we're going to the main island for a supply run!"

    • At the appearance of the rabbit, her expression went blank with shock, eyes wide with surprise, then disappointment, then anger. All this just for a little rabbit?! She was expecting some terrifying beast, not a tiny prey animal! She built up every moment, prepared herself for an epic battle, prepared herself to play the dashing heroine and save the damsel in distress, only to be greeted with... this! Nothing about this situation was even amusing to her- it was only disappointment, sheer disappointment at how this had turned out to be. This wasn't how the stories went, not at all! Her childish fury only grew as she heard a muffled snort of laughter from Tigerlily; it was nice to see her amused, sure, but Wei interpreted the humor as mockery towards her, something that sparked up embarrassment as extra fuel to her fire.

Not able to contain her anger, she lunged towards the rabbit, shouting again as she did so, though this time, it was sheer irritation rather than a daring challenge. "GAHHH-! I swear, I'll murder youuuu!" Considering her size and childishness, it wasn't much of a threat, though the sight of an angered predator was enough to send almost any rabbit running off, including this one. Her two daggers lurched from the ground and rose above her head as she dove forward, the petite feline now sprinting through the forest to chase after the rabbit, not making it very far from Tigerlily as she skidded on a sharp turn and rammed into a tree, tumbling backwards with a dazed expression and a yelp. "D-dammit...!"

    • Wei was there as usual - early again, too, an achievement she was kinda proud of -, making sure not to ram into the heavy doors of the ballroom as she dashed in, stumbling and almost tripping over her scarf and Bao as she dragged the giant salamander over to where she then took a seat. The first bit of news she heard wasn't exactly the positive announcement she was hoping to hear, an expression of concern toning down her smile upon the news being given. What happened to her? Was she okay? Where had she disappeared to? Was she even alive anymore? It was a shame Xylia didn't have the answers to these questions, but it gave the young femme something to let her imagination ponder over as she awaited the rest of the meeting's announcements, absentminded gaze glimmering while she mentally debated over every wild explanation she could come up with.

    • • - I KNOW WHERE THE GREENER GRASS GROWS, YOU'LL JUST HAVE TO FOLLOW TO THE OTHER SIDE! - • •

    • Wei had simply been absorbing all the information from then on, cramming the announcements in her head with the hope that they would stay there until she heard her name, ears perking up as her gaze widened with surprise and anticipation. She... was being promoted? She was being promoted! To an Ace... whatever that was. It sounded cool! A wide grin spreading across her maws, she focused on Xylia with a brighter gaze, already feeling her heartbeat drumming through her chest with excitement. There were two kinds of Aces, apparently. Espionage and warfare both sounded thrilling, and ideas of the kind of great warrior she could possibly be began to pop up in her mind. No consideration was given to being a mender trainee, though; the other two options sounded way cooler, and besides, she had never taken an interest in medicine from the precautions her parents had insisted on teaching her.

"I... I pick..." She had to pick now? Right away? Though one part of her called for further consideration, she couldn't help blurting out with the thoughts of the other part of her, one paw excitedly tapping next to her grumpy pet as she piped up. "Espionage... that's the stuff with spies and ninjas and assassins, right? I want to be a ninja! I'll, um, be the Ace of Espionage!" That was what espionage was, right? If it was, that was definitely her choice. Warfare sounded more brutal and grand, but as much as she detested her parents, she had taken a liking to the scenes her father had described from his job as an assassin. Sneaking into buildings, spying on important organizations, fighting off entire buildings of enemies with a prize to receive and belongings to loot afterwards... yep, that was what she wanted to do.
