anyone wanna plot w this big boy?
There was a pause in his ongoing assault on the innocent tree as he felt her presence before he heard her voice. His chest rose and fell rapidly, heart beat wildly away against his rib cage. His squeezed his eyes shut, trying to block regain control of himself before turning to face the woman who'd yet to return his heart.
"Not really," he said with a sigh that sounded eerily similar to defeat. Dark optics peered behind heavy lashes at Sekhmet, as he mentally wished he could read her thoughts. Know what she was thinking.. feeling. Did some part of her still care for him, like the whole of his existence cared for her? Was there any hope left for the two of them to find their way to each other, or was he simply being delusion yet again?
"How are you doing?" his concern for her well being was clear. The ongoing war tore him up inside, but that was because both sides were homes to him. But for Sekhmet - did she remember the Veil from before?
With Feliks' attack just barely falling short, Kairos turned to eye Sekhmet for a moment before regaining his composure. A dragon was one hell of an opponent - even for the larger than average hellion. He grunted against the pain as he concentrated on the billowing flames that licked at the foliage surrounding his clanmates. With his own elemental powers stretching like a toned muscle, he aimed to quiet the flickering fire and reduce it to mere ashes on the ground. The ground would still be hot as hell, but way less compared to live flames. We need to take command of this battlefield. Her words echoed within his head, amplified by the bond they shared.
If you wanted to end things, you needed to go for the head of the snake. Standstill. Ears swiveled around, catching the sounds of Regis' fight with Standstill. Face contorted in to a painful grimace as his insides waged a war. In the end, he had to make a tough call. Sekhmet was as skilled a fighter as any - he had no doubt she'd be able to hold on long enough with Feliks with the rest of the group littering the battle field. So he shot her one last look, before he turned and began making his way to where his leader was, paws moving swiftly upon the ground and ears alert.
Just beyond a corner up ahead, he could hear blows land and words sharp as knives being thrown. His pace slowed to a halt as he readied himself for a little action. His muscles coiled and heartbeat quickened as he lurched around the bend to come face to face with his target. His movements did not slow as he took note of the situation, seeing the Shadowkeeper tucked just out of reach of Regis. With power directed to his hind legs, the large hellion let the stored energy loose - shooting his body forward in an attempt to pounce on Standstill. Simultaneously, his jaws opened wide - teeth bared - aiming to grab a tight hold of the male's scruff to hold him stationary. All whilst Regis was attempting to stun him.
Another ally meeting on the border drew Kairos in for a closer look. Yet another new leader for Wind Haven? Sekhmet was right when she said they all seemed to be dropping like flies. His brow furrowed as the woman stuttered out her request for confirmation of a continued alliance. New leaders sometimes meant new ways of life - and new daily operations.
"Forgive me if I am speaking out of turn, but your group has been rather.. quiet. I know this is not entirely your fault given the circumstances, but our alliance had been uneven for a while now. Why should Regis continue it?" it was a fairly standard question to ask, but he did hope he hadn't offended the nervous creature before him.
"Edelweiss, things are looking a bit dirty around here. Your task this week is to stage a group-wide clean up. It may not sound like fun, exactly, but you could always make a game out of it. Or rather, a competition - if that's your cup of tea." What with all the fighting and general lagging upkeep, the Thunderlands could use a fresh dusting. He hoped she wasn't the scared type, as she was likely to come across some blood among the burnt flora farther out by the borders.
OOC PROMPT:
edelweiss v.s. : Your character discovers a slain deer just beyond the treeline of the forest. Does your character let grief from such a majestic creature dying, and try to hold a memorial for it? Or do they find the silver lining in such a tragedy by turning it into a feast for the clan? Feel free to add more food/beverages if you choose to make a groupwide feast event out of it.
Kairos listened to her speak, his demeanor calm and unmoving. He held respect for her, as a leader in her own right, but as he picked up notes of irritation in her voice he couldn’t help but feel even more uneasy. These were the kinds of conversations allies needed to have with each other and his interpretation of her disposition had him contemplating whether she knew what she had signed up for - and whether or not she was capable of handling such a huge responsibility on her shoulders.
“I understand, and like I said. I know that this burden does not rest squarely on your shoulders. However, I posed a simple question - and one that you will likely be greeted with should you visit other groups with similar intentions.” even the fact that she tried to push all the blame away from her made Kairos weary. As a leader, you were responsible for your group mates, and sometimes that meant taking damage for you groups actions - or lack of action, in this case. It was a heavy cross to bear.
“In any case, allies are to be there for each other whenever possible. It’s in any group’s best interest to forge bonds with those who will be able to strengthen them. Since I do not hold power, this decision does not fall to me. That luxury belongs to Regis. My only intention was to ask an important question.” he wondered if he had upset the girl, or if Regis would think he’d overstepped. Likely not, as it was highly probable that Regis was set to ask the very same question. Though, in perhaps a more... friendly way.
He felt partially responsible to go around and see if anyone needed help with the tasks he had given out. Someone once said that a leader shoulder never assign things they themselves would not want to do. Everything around here was a group effort. "I can lend you a paw, Edelweiss. I know this isn't the most glorious task, but in the end you'll see just how imperative it is." He shot her a friendly smiling, hoping she didn't think he was a bastard or something. "Where would you like me to start?"
The further things progressed, the more comfortable Kairos became at giving out tasks. He found that there was no shortage of things to be done around here. "You seem like a capable fighter - how about you set up a little workout session? It can be anything from a quick spar to yoga. Your choice." his head swiveled towards Liliana as he spoke, hoping it wasn't noticed that he did not know her name.
OOC PROMPT:
SPRINGHAWK. : Since your character is fairly new, they feel a need to prove themselves. There are two paths Liliana can choose to take: A) She decides to pull a relatively harmless prank on the Shadow Veil, thinking to taunt the lesser clan, or B) She thinks taking the moral high ground is a bit better - and getting to know her new groupmates is more important - so she decides to set up a little group activity (The activity is up to your choosing. Some examples are: slam poetry or painting murals to decorate tempesta.)
Kairos blinked, dark optics wide for a moment in surprise. The male had not been here that long, and since this was his first meeting he had come with no expectations. However, this did not mean he wasn't grateful. Hell, he was just glad everyone had stopped shooting him side-eyes as if he was the enemy.
"Thank you, Regis. If you'd like, I would love to help out with the Summer games. Maybe a friendly game of flag football?" a playful grin had stretched across his maw as he spoke. The male had a competitive drive, and loved physical activity. Besides, he was still on a weight-loss trend.
proud daddy track
kairos would avoid playerone simply because he's self conscious about his former alliance (the shadow veil) and thinks every thunderlander mistrusts him
Ahhh!! So vacation started and I’ve basically been sleeping this whole day recovering from the 9hr drive
ah im finally back from vaca guys and slightly dead from the 9hr drive ;)
Kairos let out a roar that startled the creatures around him, causing them to burst forth from their hiding spots on the ground and the feathered ones to shoot up from the tree tops. Legs buckled, bringing him crashing to the ground as he felt pain coarse through his body. Her pain. Though it felt slightly dulled, as if the transmission were playing telephone. Grunting, he lifted himself back up before allowing the bond they shared to guide his trajectory through the territory. Coming upon the scene, he was greeted with what was perhaps his worse nightmare. Sekhmet, cowering in a pool of her own blood.
"Who did this?!" his head swung around wildly, his body already moving to press against her side. The length of the hellion was poised for attack, muscles coiled tight as he prepared to slaughter whatever creature had harmed her. His breathe came out in huffs, his sides heaving as adrenaline flowed through his veins. Finally, his gaze returned to Sekhmet, the feeling of threat minimal now that he had his senses about him. What in the hell...
She had injuries, that was for sure, but there was no scent - other than his clanmates - and he could not detect what exactly had caused the blood to flow thick from her mouth. "Sek, I need you to talk to me. What happened?" he tried to make his voice calming like Nymeria's, but there was a note of tension from his jaws that made it sound more stressed than anything.
"I'll have one as well," Kairos spoke up as he padded over.
// i'll also take a prompt :)
ooc: ahhh is this kairos' adopted kid ??
When he volunteered to be ambassador, Kairos was mainly interested in seeing if this place was still alive. The only leader he remembered was Persephone - where had she gone? Anyways, surprise was the emotion most likely seen reflected in his onyx optics. By now, there were only faint whispers of the group which led him to question why Regis still kept them on as allies. But he was a much kinder leader than Fragilepast, so it was only fair that Kairos did his job as ambassador and tried to keep their bond as strong as it could be. "Hey Dark -" the male paused for a beat, so quick it might not have been noticed, "- Dynasty. Thunderlands here." beside him was a bag of odds and ends he could put together, so perhaps they'd like that?
