"A pleasure, Khabeleth." The odd combination of syllables was quickly parroted back as Solas locked eyes with the dragon, a common tactic for matching a face to its name. Though, it took quiet a bit of craning his head back, given their great difference in size. He smirked to himself at the thought of how silly he must look right now, a pup practically in a howling position. Fortunately, this particular stranger's eloquent words suggested they had the grace not to point it out.
Right, he forgot to introduce himself. "I am Solas, new leader of The District," the pup added quickly. And then... silence. They had nothing to talk about. He cleared his throat awkwardly, grasping for a subject to fill the silence. "If you don't mind my asking, are there others of your kind? I do not believe I have seen anyone like you before." Felines, canines, maybe the occasional deer was to be expected, but a dragon? This was his first time seeing one.

Attempt #2 because I got ghosted by the previous person in this plot.
Solas here took over The District some 2 weeks ago. He's still young enough to need an education, but is trying to teach himself since he thinks his clanmates would be too biased to mentor him properly.
Because of his position, Solas is going to need someone to take the burden off of him, whether that's through protecting him, guiding him, doing the dirty work, or even providing stress relief. The plan is that he's going to try to summon something (an angel, spirit, demon, demigod - whatever your character is) as he teaches himself magic, but something will go wrong and he will accidentally bind your character to unconditional servitude for the rest of his mortal life.
- ICly, your character would feel a strong need to obey any orders given by Solas. He's not usually abusive, but the binding spell itself may cause immense pain to y/c if they disobey him, or if he becomes too angry, sad, or afraid, up to your discretion as a roleplayer.
- OOCly, your character just has to join or at least occasionally visit The District. We can work out the details in a private thread or conversation, since more plots can come from this! If your character becomes incredibly inactive (f/e not posting for 3 weeks without notice) this can just be dropped with some IC excuse about the magic wearing off.
If you end up wanting out, this can end in many ways; from cooperatively finding a way to break the spell to y/c plotting an assassination of Solas, depending on your character's personality and what they would do.

"Hello," he greeted briefly; the pup recognized Shininglight from the gathering, no need to echo their name for memorization's sake. "Indeed I am. Similar to StormClan, The District can offer experience and dedication, though we have a more scientific approach compared to their reliance on powers." A friendly rivalry but an important distinction, both of the schools looked to align with pro-clans. He felt the need to explain why both could contribute, but also expected that the RiverClanners would rather be spared the lecture.
"Regardless of your decision, we would be glad to have you at our upcoming Halloween festival. If you'll allow it, we'll send an invitation when it's ready," he added in afterthought; Whimsychatter was still planning the final details and he didn't want to promise a deadline, but RiverClan had been on the invite list and he felt obligated to ask.
To Khabeleth, he nodded. "It is no surprise that our name is unfamiliar. The District was born from the ashes of The Arcane. And... that is quite interesting, yourself." Perhaps he'd visit Westeros to see the dragon's son in person, if only to learn more about the species. But, perhaps not. Studies had to come first.

apologies for inactivity in the past 3 days, didn't realize I had one last midterm to study for until it was almost too late. 2 A-'s and an A on the exams last week though, so I can def be more active in the next 3-4 weeks!
&welcome Copper!
As for whimsy, I think we have like 1-2 people who would show up to a raid, but a rescue patrol might work?

Ah, sentient life. The District seemed somewhat devoid of it recently, what with the senior staff being captured and all. Solas was secretly rather distressed about it, though he put on a calm face for the rest of the group. Until he could come up with a tangible plan, there was no use troubling anyone else with the situation. They might think of doing something stupid - exactly like what Solas was was planning.
In the meantime, he was met mostly with empty halls and silent classrooms. The arctic wolf had in fact grown so used to the quietude that he had started to hum to himself on his walks through the school, at least when he knew he was alone. Solas had been on his way to make copies of a few unimportant handouts, humming to the tune of Honey, I'm Good, when suddenly he noticed what looked almost like a large rodent {lmao sorry} at the edge of the hallway. The humming stopped.
Eye-whiskers arched in surprise, the principal chose a reasonable spot to talk, putting down his papers with a quiet 'fwop'. "Enjoying the view?" He quipped casually, grey gaze sweeping curiously over the stranger.
-
An amused smirk lit the young wolf's features. It was always interesting to see how others reacted to Ko's somewhat odd words. This 'Capone' figure seemed friendly enough, and apparently adventurous too; perhaps a good influence to guide Darkkit better than Solas ever could. "Welcome indeed," the principal echoed. "I shall add you to the roster immediately. My name is Solas."
-
//apologies for late, won't happen again, also, what is it with our characters constantly meeting lmao
"Hello, Rose," Solas greeted in a short bark. Being an exchange student to StormClan and all, he had seen the spirit around. Perhaps the frequency of these interactions might be indicative of closeness between their clans - speaking of which, he needed to discuss potential events with Fernando. This was a pleasant reminder of it.
Darkkit seemed to go right for the gifts, and the principal made no movement to stop him. After all, that's what gifts were for, to be given. "Congratulations on your ambassador status. I shall make sure to include you in any discussions regarding StormClan." He was genuine about that, if Fernando trusted the student to represent his clan's interest then Solas was going to trust the Grand Archmage's judgment.
-
Solas was listening attentively, and to an untrained eye, he may have appeared to keep a neutral expression throughout the meeting. At the mention of BloodClan as an alliance, his fur raised slightly before flattening itself again, his shoulders remaining tense for the rest of the announcements. If one had known him closely they might have noticed how greatly The District's principal disapproved of the anti-clan alliance, especially after certain incidents within his home clan. But, he did his best to minimize his reaction, clenching and relaxing his jaw and throat to maintain control.
"Welcome, and congratulations," he parroted when it was his turn to announce his presence. That part was genuine, at least; the pup was just an exchange student here but there was still a sense of connectedness to the clan he was learning from. And it came with the benefit of knowing what was going on in the sister school, regardless of his personal opinion on what exactly was happening.
-
Things were looking up, if a bit slowly, and Solas had absolutely no idea how that was happening. He was going to do his best to keep it up, though he wasn't sure what 'it' was, surely another information session would be the right way to go. As classes ended for the day, the buzz of the intercom would go off, followed by a confident, low voice. "Please meet in the auditorium for an assembly," the principal directed over the speakers, before heading off to the stage. The auditorium seemed a bit dramatic just for a few updates, but it had the best acoustics, and a volume boost was something he needed for a pup of his size.
"Primarily, I simply wish to announce the position changes from last meeting. Nagito Komaeda has accepted their position as Professor, Whimsychatter as Prefect, and Darkkit as Nurse. So far I have not been disappointed. Additionally, allow me to welcome CAPONE
to The District, and to introduce Rose Quartz
as our ambassador from StormClan." Almost everyone had already met them both, as far as he knew, but it could never hurt. "Speaking of alliances, our records incorrectly listed RiverClan as an alliance and that has been corrected; SkyClan and StormClan, however, remain our allies. I believe Whimsychatter will be hosting a Halloween fair soon, which may include a tour of the school; please lock the door to your room at that time if you wish our friends to leave you alone."
Ah, was there more to say? He'd just sort of improvised the speech, but it seemed like the principal was forgetting something. For now, the pup stood there in the light of the stage, as if his pause was on purpose to allow the students time to react.
//Part 2 of the meeting coming soon, have some pending conversations to confirm/set up a few things!
-
A normal and peaceful life was a bit too much the norm for Solas's liking, he was quietly in search of a way to change it. Perhaps the livelihood of new faces might help; they certainly caused a burst of hope in the young principal, which for some reason Ko seemed to react to. He followed beside the Professor silently, offering an attentive gaze toward Maxim.
-
-
"I shall attend," the exchange student noted as he settled down to watch. Solas wasn't one to share his art, writings, and poetry, for in order to fully express oneself, one would have to let others gaze into the deepest reaches of one's soul. Therefore, he would be auditing this class, merely sitting in to listen in on the lecture. If he had to, he would comply in group activities by feigning ineptitude.
-
Now it was Solas's turn to speak up. "Certainly," he confirmed with an eager bark. "Welcome to The District. My name is Solas, the principal here." Beyond that he wasn't too sure what to say, the pup was curious about Maxim's circumstances but didn't want to pry so openly, perhaps sometime in a quieter setting.
-
Solas could not honestly say he recognized who this was, Whimsychatter usually handled SkyClan interactions on The District's behalf. This was a rather interesting way to meet their allies in person, well, he might have used a different word from 'interesting' given the chance. Solas had been on his way over from his home territory when Rose's voice incited him to locate her instead, both curious and worried about what dangers a rabid chicken could pose.
He wasn't even sure he'd heard her correctly, until he spotted the 'chicken' itself. Wow. The normally composed pup folded his ears back in utter confusion. This did not look like the fatal symptoms of rabies he'd been expecting. "I... what?" Solas asked, glancing to Rose for help. "Are you... I mean, is he... Umm, what's happening?"
-
Solas shrugged, it seemed Komaeda had spaced out. Couldn't blame the guy, Solas was often guilty of that himself. "Right. Then..." Forget methodical orders, he was just going to pick someone at random. "Capone, truth or dare?"
-
//wOOPS
Ah, right. Solas rarely forgot to introduce his rank along with himself, perhaps this time was an unsuccessful attempt to be treated as an equal for the moment. Honestly he wasn't sure how to feel about seeming 'moi importante', on the one hand the pup wanted desperately to keep an image of authority, but on the other, one could not treat him as both a superior and an equal, could they? Perhaps the 'friends with everyone' model was a better approach for leadership.
Regardless, Capone's observation was impressive. "I am the Principal here," he confirmed with a short nod, "but I was not aware of this 'moi importante' aspect." He certainly bombed that pronunciation, but could you really blame him? "How did you recognize it?"
-
Sure! Could you include a form in the party thread that's just the character name, and what difficulty room they want? I'll set them up in smaller threads c:
-
Ah, well, turns out most of the things he was going to say were obsolete. Due to liquid time he'd missed a joiner, too. At least Solas finally found the words he was looking for.
"Ah, a late welcome to Maxim as well.
On a separate note, The District is meant to function as a school, and as such I will be hosting occasional classes and invite anyone to attend or host their own. Ask, and I will provide you with a class idea in place of a weekly task.
Finally, expect future involvement with the other major school, StormClan. I would like to hear your opinions on an academic competition, or a series of them."
-
Here it finally was, there were things to do and people to do them. Solas stood in the school's atrium, ever-present stacks of paper surrounding him. "Come to me for optional assignments," he offered loudly, wondering if anyone even really wanted more work to do.
