The sound of Clove's voice rang clear through Hexane's ears: have you seen Hexane?

Great, she was already on the lookout for him. He shouldn't be surprised, considering the look she gave him at the promotion, but it would be a pain to deal with. Couldn't she have just stayed with Eden and Selena in SunClan? Having to explain his association with ColouredClan to his family was not in his plans, and for good reason; how could he expect his family to show up into an enemy promotion ceremony? Their paws were full enough with BloodClan.

The kistune heaved a massive sigh before stepping out to catch Clove in a more secluded area of the town. No one needed to hear this conversation. "I'm right here, dear. Something you need?" He kept his tone nonchalant, as if certain of his own innocence.

carboncurses: I have a way better one.

    carboncurses: What's a musician's favorite chemical subject?

    carboncurses: Stereochemistry.

Lucky him, it had taken almost no time for some Bloodmange to try and take him out. Hex had managed to pull away from the claws which reached out at him, but only after they had been embedded in his shoulder. The power he summoned to yank them away only caused them to drag down his side, created open gashes; if he had been quicker it may have ended with just a scratch, but he hadn't been fast enough to prevent how deep the claws had gone. And it was only within moments that the claws were back, slashing his legs with an intensity that sang in his bones; he wouldn't even be able to use his left leg in this battle anymore.

He huffed, gritting his teeth as black blood pooled beneath his paw. Fuck, if she had used her teeth she would at least be poisoned right now. He wasn't a fighter, but damn it he'd have to become one if he were to survive this.

The kitsune ripped off the rest of the ingredients strapped to his side and, with the Bloodclanners distracted by Khaol, tossed the rest into the water, containers and all. His eyes surveyed the battlefield, looking for his family: Suga fighting someone else, Saran and Khaol tied up with his attacker, and Irene, thankfully safe for now. The girl had sense to use her wings. He sure could benefit from having those again.

Though he did notice one Bloodclanner who was eyeing Saran; he would be one to recognize that look of concentration. There was no way he was going to let someone go who could target the fliers. Though he wouldn't be fast enough to take away the brunt of the attack on Saran, Hexane still threw himself at Duskmire. like a bleeding bowling ball. "Don't fucking look at her!" Was he thinking of Saran or Irene? They melded in his mind. She's flying, don't hurt her

carboncurses: Levi you'd better get your electrons back in phase.

carboncurses: You're breaking bonds with Angel.

carboncurses: Irene of course I know jokes.

carboncurses: You're going to hurt my feelings.

carboncurses: And yes I have those too.

carboncurses: From my boundless knowledge of science.

carboncurses: You think anyone studies intensive subjects to learn?

    carboncurses: Wrong

carboncurses: It's for the sweet, sweet puns

carboncurses: Unrelated and definitely hypothetical, but does anyone have a quick recipe for a cyanide poison antidote

Name: Hexane Arcanium Resurgam Targaryen Mikaelson

    Age: 15 moons

    Gender: Nonbinary, uses he/him pronouns

    Alliance: SunClan and ColouredClan

    Family:

    -Parents: Suga Arcanium x Scarletscream

    -Littermates: Irene and Illimagarden

    -Children: -

    Personality:

Sarcastic, blunt, and completely unable to admit when he cares but will aggressively care anyway. He is manipulative to anyone who does not matter to him, and holds no guilt toward using or killing others so long as it doesn't harm his family. It would be rare for him to decide to harm anyone without premeditated intentions, and it would have to be for the benefit of either him or another Arcanium.

He has a soft spot for his siblings and would do anything to protect them. He isn't sure himself how much of his desire to help is derived from his own feelings and how much from his alchemic curse that forbids him from bringing them harm.

    Appearance:

PREVIOUS: Hexane is a feline/kitsune hybrid with mostly the appearance of a kitsune. He only has four tails and is mostly white like his father, but black markings reach up his legs and the tips of his tails. He always wears a white kitsune mask with red markings like an Inari Okami fox. Black fur can be seen outlining the edge of the mask.

His build is rather lithe, except for the fluffiness of his tails. Hexane is clearly meant for sneaking around and not outright battle.

CURRENT: Hex is now completely black, a remnant of his curse becoming too powerful when it was still with him.

    History:

As a child, Hex was always very interested in the sciences, and developed a natural talent for medicines. He also had a hard time understanding and feeling emotions, and after some time began to view them as some type of "rare ingredient" in life that was simply difficult to find. This led to his eventual search for how to draw emotions out to be used in creations, and his involvement in alchemy.

His first alchemic endeavor was found in an old book of spells, where he discovered a ritual that would give him the ability to interact with emotions as tangible objects. During this ritual, his wings were ripped from his back and molded to form the mask he now wears. His own emotions were drawn out and placed in the shadows beneath his mask, where they still reside; this is mostly so that he may keep his own emotions and those he takes in separate.

A caveat to the ritual was that it required an anchor, a type of calibration to give his powers a standard to go off of. In essence, he is unable to use any abilities on those who share his blood, because his blood being spilled gave his own emotions a sort of blank standard to go off of.

Hex for a time resided in SunClan and ColouredClan, where he continued to take various emotions and use them in spells and poisons. During the war between SunClan and the Sanguine Ruins he helped raid the latter several times to rescue his sisters and simply to follow his father into battle. Afterwards he was murdered by Bucky (though Irene was able to revive him), a terrible event which left him traumatized. He began to sink into his trauma and his curse grew more powerful, staining him physically and mentally.

In an effort to make things right with his sanity failing, he visited the Sanguine Ruins and was found by Solveig. She sensed his weakness and altered his memories so that he thinks his father Suga was the one who forced him into his curse. Disgusted with the newfound "memory", Hex devised a new spell to purge himself of both his curse and his Arcanium blood, since he now rejects SunClan and its legacy entirely. In doing so he created five children who now carry the curse and his blood and left them in SunClan. Immediately afterwards he left to join the Sanguine Ruins, the clan that "helped" him remember his family's treachery.

    Powers:

-Hex is able to act as a vessel for emotions and transform them into tangible objects. He can then use them in alchemy. Taking emotions from someone has no affect on that person, like taking a cup of water from the sea.

-Spells: Hex can create an array of spells, such as growth, silence, etc. He can also create one-time power spells, like the ability to create a single fireball. He is working up to gathering emotions strong enough to create permanent-power spells.

-If his own emotions become more than he can handle, they will reach out from the mask and claws their way along his body. If he does not get them under control in time, they will leave a black stain where they have touched. The more of his coat that is stained black, the more his own psyche may be corrupted by the emotions he takes in from others.

Having cast out the shadow that gave him access to his vessel abilities, Hexane now only performs alchemy unrelated to his form.

Ah, perhaps it did sound like he was accusing them of having no need for the herbs themselves. Well, whatever, he had found his original goal, which was something much more interesting anyway. Hexane gave a nonchalant shrug with a sigh. "I suppose I shouldn't judge, considering I never took the time to get to know you all." For good reason, but he may as well play along with the nice Exiler. "I'll leave the herbs behind then, I'll not be a thief of that which belongs to you." Except your heart, hopefully.

Hex gave a low chuckle, the deep sound rumbling in his chest. "You appear to be right in that your company has been enjoyable, though it's not the only thing I've found." He didn't even have to lie this time; the strange serval really was a pleasure to encounter. So much better than finding someone with no mouth on them. Harder to trick, but wasn't the chase the fun part anyway?

Well, either way it would be more than worth it if his charge was amusing along the way. With a smirk, Hex leaned in to press his muzzle near Tiny's ear and whispered, "I've got your name now too, dear." Another chuckle, though this one was quieter, more of a huff of laughter. He leaned back again, his stance playful. "A nice name at that, though I still think lion suits you well." With a slight flourish of his paw, Hex gestured to himself once again. "And since you've been so kind to grace me with that knowledge, I'll return the favor! You are looking at none other than Hexane, the wandering medic." No other title needed for the moment. "You'll need to remember it from now on."

Hexane had been in ColouredClan for quite some time now. He'd even made it to the prestigious title of Littlecoat! Or at least it was an improvement. In truth, though he had joined with every intention to take advantage of some souls away from home, he was becoming a tad attached to the colorful town. Or maybe that was just because there was actually sunlight here; one tended to become attached to places that contained the required nutrients.

Yet, even with his begrudging liking for the place, he hadn't grown very close to any of his faux clanmates. Even if he were to continue his original intentions, he needed to get to know them. Perhaps that was the very reason the task had remained uncompleted: it was harder for him to bring himself to cause strong emotion in the group when he actually began to care for them somewhat.

But he couldn't keep wallowing in this in-between state. Either he was going to continue his search for alchemic ingredients and therefore needed to interact more, or he was going to befriend them and needed to interact more. The general consensus in his mind was to get off his ass and do something.

Though he really wasn't sure where to begin, so he settled with doing some solo-chores in the center of the town. He could get something done while being on the lookout for his first target - in personal interaction. The kitsune sat, unsure of what to do exactly, and began rummaging through his satchel in search of something, pulling out herb and herb like a mom looking for her keys in a massive purse.

Hexane was right behind Irene, bouncing along in line with his sisters. As soon as he sensed a change in the younger sibling's disposition, he hopped to her side, putting a wing around her protectively and sending a sharp golden glance to Levi. "Don't go yelling at my sis! You're s'posed to say 'excuse me' when you bump someone." Though he had no muscle mass to speak of, the pure white kitsune puffed out his chest along with his wings to try and show off some strength; it probably wasn't very intimidating.

At the sound of Robin's voice, the tiny kitsune perked his ears, turning to look at the pretty feline though still not leaving Irene's side. "Hi Robin!" He didn't have much else to say, or rather he couldn't be sure of what else to say since he seemed to get tongue-tied around her. Sometimes he wished he could pull out his nerves and treat them with medicines like a real medic, then he wouldn't be nervous anymore. Or whatever he was feeling.

Khaol's response made him laugh, a tiny squeak ending in a snort. He turned to Irene, his eyes bright with amusement, and let out another hushed laugh. "It's kinda funny how they're both grumpy. Levi and Khaol can be grumpy together while we have fun."
