The Bermuda Armada
The Bermuda Armada is a band of pirates who sail the seas in search of treasure. They were founded by a nine-tailed kitsune named Mizu Ren and a maned wolf named Vojak. Together, they set out to gather an impressive crew and seek out legends.
TERRITORY
The armada made its home on a tropical island. Clinging to the cliff-face of the large island is an ancient coliseum, since eroded by salt and wind. The coliseum is filled with rooms where the members and captains make their home. The island itself is dense jungle, dotted with treasure yet to be discovered. A mile or so off the shore, a small rocky island is home to a ship wreck.
The territory is located on two islands in the middle of the Bermuda triangle. One of the islands is an abandoned ship morphed into a large moss rock. On the lower levels of this structure there are three entry ways into the center and when high tide rolls in, it fills these cavities. Along side that there is a large cave tunneling under the plateau where ships are stored, which opens up on the north side. Off to the south east, the second island is a large stony plateau jutting irregularly from the sea, built into varying columns which mimic a coliseum. Only few sections of the coliseum are used: the rooms where the members sleep, and a courtyard dug into the rock where meetings take place. The lowest portion of the coliseum holds prisoners, the middle holds average citizens, and the very top is where the captains and higher positions reside. If a storm is spotted some time prior, there are evacuation routes on islands further south. The sea is barren north west, while the coastline of their base is riddled with reefs. It is especially thick with seaweed around the abandoned ship.
RELIGION
One thing that distinguishes the Bermuda Armada from other pirates is the presence of a god. High Captain Mizu Ren claims to be Goddess of the Seas and everything that they encompass. The kitsune believes that the ocean speaks to her in lucid visions - mere second glimpses of a crystal pyramid deep beneath the water. It has become her goal, and the armada's, to find the crystal pyramid.
The armada first learned of the crystal pyramid through inscriptions found in the coliseum. Soon after, Mizu Ren began to have visions of the pyramid glowing beneath the water. She knew that the correlation between the inscriptions and her daily visions were no coincidence, and so she set the armada's sights on finding the pyramid and discovering its secret. Much of the crew blame the pyramid for the infamous Bermuda shipwrecks, while others have proven that it is only a matter of navigation. Armada captains sailing the triangle have noticed abnormal currents compared to other waters. It has become a strict rule to avoid these currents or risk sinking valuable armada ships.
Additionally, there is some folklore regarding the coliseum: there are stories about certain sections on the lower levels, where animals have wandered and never returned. The tales include a human draped in black, his face hidden beneath a wavering mask. Whispers echo through the hallways it roams and the walls it passes shake. The sections known for housing the demon have been closed off and deemed forbidden.

There is typically only one warden and their job is to remain near the base and insure its defense. They have the option to recruit other members to join their "defense crew".

Quarter Master
The Quarter Masters serve under each captain. They represent crew interests, maintaining order, and distributing food. The Quarter Master has authority to punish minor rule-breaks but murder and mutiny are judged by a council of Captains and High Captains.

Surgeons are a part of all five crews and are responsible for the welfare of the crew.

The backbone of the crew, they know how to do it all: sails and rigging, ship steering and applying navigation.
Rigger
Riggers unfurl and furl the sails. This is typically a dangerous job.
Servant
Captives or members too young to be sailors or riggers who swab the deck and run errands.

In charge of sailing and navigation.

Mizu Ren's ship was rocking against the waves as she sailed in from the West. Her sails displayed her sigil, a kitsune swallowing the moon. Ghostly apparitions "manned" her ship - watery figures that did nothing but look the part.
Ren's armada lacked members, but at least she had Vojak. With luck, using his skills they could populate their sorry excuses for a crew.

But... I'm making this thread as an advertisement of sorts. Basically, this is a pirate group set in the Bermuda triangle who seek the crystal pyramid at its center. As well, there will be tons of plundering and treasure hunting. Plots can be discussed here as well! I would love for this little start up group to be engaged with other groups, considering the pirates will need allies and enemies!
Just reply with any sort of idea you have or if you are just generally interested in the RP!

Also, I think it'd be okay for him to have the ship but not be an official captain. He could absolutely become a captain later on though and I'll reserve the rank for you. ^^
If you want, you could have Jack join via RP by running into the armada or whatever you want.

Mizu Ren is a nine-tailed kitsune who looks like she was born of the reef itself. Coral and lichen grow along her body, her fur is the color of a pale cloudy sky, and her eyes are deep blue. Her tails taper off into the appearance of white-capped waves that waver like the surface of the ocean. She is extremely skinny for her height, measuring nearly four feet at her shoulders, but her tails make her appear much larger.
Personality;
Ren commands respect and gets what she wants. She doesn't put up with insolence and is quick to enact punishment. On the other hand, she knows where to draw the line and can be reasonable when she wants to be. In private, she is extremely emotional and irrational. She keeps certain items with her at all times, relics of her long lost lover who was taken by the sea.

The Liefle is her ship. It's a atakebune (Japanese warship). Her flags display her sigil: a kitsune swallowing the moon. At the moment, her ship is manned by watery formations of animals. They are slow and useless and cause her frequent migrains. (Made from water manipulation power)

*:･ﾟ✦ Ren was slow to turn when addressed by her counterpart, Vojak. She blinked once at him, watching him move frantically across the deck, barking orders at her creations - the watery apparitions made from the sea. They did everything with the speed of a snail, and expended her mental energy to boot. A real crew could easily replace them.
With nothing better to do however, she stole a glance at the water below. And admittedly, it did come as a brief surprise that there seemed to be someone there, calling out to them. "Vojak, throw down the ladder," she barked. The kitsune climbed down to the lower deck, letting her watery creations finish the treatment of the sails. They were slow and careful in their movement, as was expected.

hmm. I could make those threads. It would be a lot better to have tryouts for HP ranks then using the normal form. If you have any more ideas of what to add in those threads or anything else, please tell.
