greyfell★sanctuary★♂★silver cheetah
Silver paws ghosted against the soil with sluggish uncertainty, making only the slightest of brushing sounds that could have been mistaken for wind. Even Greyfell, their source, was uncertain if his paws truly made any noise or if their was simply a monotonous static in his mind creating the illusion of a sound. It wouldn't be the first time he'd heard sounds in his mind.
The silver cheetah had only woken a few hours ago, in some strange land which was unknown to him. Then again, every land was technically unknown to him considering he had no memory of any land. Somehow he had awoken with only only one memory stuck in his mind, a soft whisper he had nearly mistaken for an actual voice.
. . . –grey . . . fell-. . .
He shook his head of the sound once more. The voice grated on his ears, even in his mind, some scathing quality in it sending a shiver down his spine. In truth he had no idea what those words meant exactly, but considering he could not remember his own name, it seemed fitting to apply the first words he could recall. Maybe it didn’t matter what he used to be. Now he was Greyfell.
The cheetah paused in his tracks, noticing a slight change in the scent of his surroundings. Ice white eyes blinked, uncertainty spilling across his face as he pressed his nose closer to the earth. There was some kind of scent marker. That, at least, was something he seemed to recognize, even if everything else seemed wholly unfamiliar to him. For the first time since he’d awoken, Greyfell’s thoughts raced in his mind. Should he turn back? Should he wait to see who this territory belonged to? It wasn’t as though he had anywhere else to be, perhaps it was fate he happened upon a place he could possibly stay. . .
Greyfell opened his jaw wide, preparing to shout to whoever was near. "I am in need of shelter. Who lives in this place?" The words felt foreign against his tongue, getting caught between long fangs and scratching against his dry throat. It occurred to the cheetah that his throat was burning with some sort of need. Thirst. Yes, he was completely parched. He needed water. Why hadn’t he noticed that during his long trek here?
An uneasy expression settled upon his face as Greyfell took a wary stance, the oddity of his circumstances suddenly becoming apparent. If he couldn’t even remember what thirst felt like, there was no way he could survive on his own. He could only hope he would not have to search long for a place to stay.

If he were of normal mind and strength, Greyfell may have been able to spot and dodge the young pup hurtling toward him. As it were, the cheetah only heard Olive's approach a mere moment before feeling the impact against his legs, leaving him crashing into the dirt below. He coughed once as his chest heaved against the impact of his own weight pressing it to the ground, then stood again on shaking legs. Dazed, Greyfell moved his sight toward the culprit of the incident. "Ah, hello there." He certainly hadn't been expecting a child to be the first to greet him.
As more of the group approached, Greyfell slowly turned his head to each in turn. He found he had a hard time reading their expressions, but their words made enough sense. "I call myself Greyfell. It is good to meet all of you." His own words sounded a bit different from those around him, as though coated in some strange accent. "I would like to stay here. I much appreciate your kindness." He dipped his head in a grateful bow to the group. Such luck, finding a place named Sanctuary in a time when that was exactly what he needed. Perhaps some deity was on his side; or not.

The first to greet him- Losteyes - didn't seem entirely interested in the interaction, but Greyfell appreciated the gesture all the same. He supposed he should take note not to disturb the old feline in the future. Not that he had any business with which to disturb anyone. He mostly just needed a place to rest for now.
The cheetah lifted a paw to begin trekking in the direction of the camp when the feeling of wetness suddenly slathered his cheek. Once again, the pup had surprised him enough to give him no time to truly react before she was scampering away. Greyfell blinked, eyes wide as he returned Olive's brown gaze with his own white one. He allowed a small smile to stretch his maw for a moment at the pup's antics; somehow the motion made his jaw sore.
Greyfell stood, nodding to the group once more. "I thank you again. I will be off." He finally began moving in the direction Losteyes had gestured to, silently hoping he would get used to living here for a while.

I have a few hours to get to class but I might be late anyways. Because I'm good at that.
And thennnn I have to work in a lab for like 5 hours.

Greyfell wasn't sure what to make of the scene before him: the alignment of soft beds, the warm summer-night lighting, the array of snacks that wafted scents he couldn't even place. And the announcement that was made - movie night? He wasn't familiar with the concept. The cheetah whipped his head around as he continued to take in the sight, becoming dizzy from both his movement and the saccharine smells that began clouding his senses.
He turned to Frisk, white eyes wide and forehead furrowed in uncertainty. "What is the little mermaid?" Whatever they were watching sounded immensely important; possibly even a matter of Sanctuary security. He attempted to adjust his expression to appear more serious, to signal to Frisk he potentially understood the severity of this event.

So this is Grey and he has a pretty bad case of amnesia; he doesn't even remember a lot of
feelings/emotions/senses, so he's a bit nervous about most things but he does his best. He's up for pretty much any plot! He could really use some experience in remembering how to feel and whatnot, right now he's just a lost boi
-
Good luck to everyone doing school things, school is ruff
My lab was Mysteriously Canceled so now I only have 1 class today! Excitement
-
Yes yes absolutely! Grey can ask for help with what's up in the world since he's got no idea and they could totally become friends.
-
I can make! I'll have it up tonight!

As far as new homes went, The Sanctuary seemed to be a lucky find. Greyfell hadn't run into any trouble since he'd been here, and the living was comfortable enough, not that he would really be able to tell if it weren't. It was a simple, livable environment - survivable. Easy.
But those thoughts somehow rang some falsehood in his mind, a hint that something important was missing. There was the small issue of that sudden recognition of thirst that he'd had when he arrived. And the immense difficulty he had in understanding expressions, despite still being able to follow instinct in his own. Some part of his ability to. . . understand? Feel? Something was lacking, something had been torn in his mind during whatever event had stripped him of his memories. Perhaps he just needed a better understanding of his surroundings, something to ground in him in his reality a bit more.
Lifting himself from the grassy patch he'd been laying in, Greyfell moved his vision slowly across the horizon before stopping on a single spot; a massive tree that seemed to be the hub of many events for the Sanctuary. There was something about the tree that felt a bit different, as though it were a living entity in a way other than being a literal tree. Still, the oddity was comforting somehow, like the first familiarity he'd been able to recognize since awakening. Was there some power in the tree? Could something like that help him understand the world better? Bring his senses back? His memories?
White eyes glossed over with a spacey look as Greyfell became lost in his own thoughts. Maybe he should focus more on getting help from something that could speak. Maybe he should just focus on surviving and not worry about living with feeling. His mind reeled from the uncertainty of his own suggestions, so much so that he didn't realize when he began speaking aloud to himself.
"Maybe this world just isn't meant to make any sense."

greybae: I would also suggest not breaking the windows, that sounds very dangerous.
greybae: But if you pick the lock it could damage it and then might not work anymore.
greybae: Which is also a bit dangerous.
greybae: Maybe you should go in through the vents.
greybae: Like a secret ninja.
greybae: A safety ninja.

greybae: Vents are holes.
greybae: For air.
greybae: Or am I thinking of a window? Are windows holes for air?
greybae: I don't know anymore.
greybae: Forgive me.
greybae: Smash the window.

greybae: I think this is an excellent idea.
greybae: Koday if you want to smash something that is not a window you can help smash the door.
greybae: I can help too.
greybae: Make sure everyone stays safe.
greybae: We need to smash safely.

Grey can definitely be a friend! Grey is also an angel but he has no memories of it, he just woke up in the world and has no idea what anything is. They can be confused lost angels together
