her whiskers twitched with amusement as he brought his paw down. it had been much to heavy of a blow, but he was learning. "well, i'll admit that you did crack the ice." she meowed, nodding. at his question she twitched her tail. "honestly i have no clue. it's freezing in leaf-bare." moving towards the water again, she gazed down at the hole the two of them had created. "it's better in green-leaf when it's really hot out. i'll teach you to swim then." she turned her amber gaze upon the tom, blinking. "up to fish now? or should we save that for later. you look like you don't particularly like the water." it was strange, a riverclanner who didn't like the river. then again, she herself had been scared of the river for a lot of her apprenticeship. she had a good reason, of course: almost drowning, but still. "if you really don't want to learn to fish right now, i could teach you battle moves. we could try fishing another day." was she supposed to be giving him the choice? she didn't know.

redstripe's blow landed, and the molly was pushed to the ground, her body thumping in the snow. she growled in anger as she was thrown back, and hissed as redstripe's sharp claws cut into her flank. heaving her self up again, the molly barreled into the red tabby warrior, trying to use her shoulder to push the older molly back. then she would begin to slash with her claws, getting up precariously on her hind legs to use her front paws. she curled her lip as she attacked. however scrawny, however weak and hungry thunderclan was, she'd fight to feed her own clan. she knew that LEAFKIT would do the same, and she admired how selflessly the molly had protected her clan. she certainly wasn't one to back down. despite them being enemies, stormbird felt a little respect for the older warrior.

(So sorry this took so long! I was at a Christmas party/sleepover <3)

Redstripe was pushed back easily by the younger RiverClan warrior, her claws digging into the snow to gain some sort of traction before she slipped against the icy rocks and fell over once more. As Stormbird reared on her hind paws, Redstripe was unable to dodge the attack soon enough and suffered another scratch to the face, this time landing securely on her cheek. Baring her fangs, fur bristling, Redstripe launched herself forward at Stormbird, hoping to use the she-cat's tactic of rearing on her hind paws to her advantage. If successful, the red tabby would attempt to pin her down and sink her fangs deep into her shoulder. Like the other feline, the senior warrior also held a great deal of respect for her opponent. Though significantly younger and more inexperienced than she, Stormbird had taken her on fearlessly to protect her Clan in an attempt to win the Sunningrocks.

a feeling of satisfaction sung through the molly's heart as she watched the molly slip on the ice. perhaps they were going to win this. as redstripe reared up to bowl her over, she tried to dodge to the side, the tabby skimming her shoulder and knocking her backwards into the snow. as redstripe attempted to pin her, she felt searing pain in her shoulder and growled, eyes narrowing, teeth flashing. heaving herself up and out of the red tabby'd grasp, she slid underneath her, using her smaller size to her advantage. spinning around as she got to her paws, stormbird pushed forward again, using strong back legs to push off of the snow and leap towards the molly, trying to land near or on her back so as to flatten her to the ground. if successful, she would slash her claws along redstripe's shoulders.

Redstripe frowned as Stormbird slithered from her grasp, baring her teeth as she whirled to find her opponent. As she did so, a force slammed into her side, once again knocking her into the snow. She landed on her side and felt Stormbird’s claws rake along her shoulders before she had the chance to recover. Her own claws outstretching, she aimed a powerful slap to the she-cat’s face to get her off so she could get to her own paws again.

the molly recoiled as redstripe slapped her face and she leapt off of her, snarling. hoping to give another attack while the molly was still down, she rushed forward, but before she could, another cat bowled into her, knocking her back into the snow. a growl rumbled in the younger girl's throat as flameseeker pinned her, and she flashed out with her claws, aiming for the ginger molly's face as she swiped. using her shoulder, she pushed against her, rolling out of the senior warrior's grasp. "two against one now is it?" stormbird hissed, tail lashing as she stared at the thunderclanners. "bring it on i guess." she knew she wouldn't last for long against two of thunderclan's more experienced warriors, but she wasn't just going to turn tail and run. rushing at flameseeker, she made it look like she was going to barrel right into the molly, before swerving right and around her. then she would flash at redstripe, clawing continuously, trying to push her back. she swiped at the red tabby's face and chest, snarling.

the molly padded up to hear snarls and groans. tempestwing stood further back, looking... sad? stormbird was usually good at reading other cats, and despite the cold outer shell that the molly seemed to be putting up, she was off. "what's going on?" she meowed quietly, moving to the warrior's side. she could tell that there had been an argument between tem and sharkpool. now it seemed like the whole clan had something to say about it. "nothing ever gets done if we just yell at each other." she meowed, raising her voice so that both sharkpool and thistlepaw could hear.

//poor stormy is confused and worried

stormbird didn't sleep much anymore. there wasn't really a reason to it- she just found that whenever she tried to, she couldn't. she supposed its was for the better: someone had to guard camp, and if she couldn't sleep, she might as well hunt. so she'd been out by the river, thinking about hunting when she'd heard the rustle of reeds and the sound of thumping pawsteps. getting to her paws, the girl scented the air, recognizing the scent of her former mentor, fear heavy in the molly's smell. biting her lip, stormbird wondered if she should follow.

she did, knowing that nightstar might be in trouble or need help. padding quickly after her leader, she soon caught up with her, making her pawsteps loud to alert the woman of her presence. "nightstar?" she meowed softly, padding closer to the dark leader. "what's wrong?" she knew nightstar well enough that she could sense when something was troubling her, and something was indeed plaguing the noble leader. a nightmare perhaps?
