(i'm relatively new to this website after a literal 4-year break, so i don't really understand alts. like i get it's an account specifically for a character, but do you have to log in and out from your main to your alt every time?)

'she believed me?' the apprentice was dumbstruck, but decided not to push his luck; instead, he just smiled and purred.

"y-yeah, hunting together would be fun! i'd like that. hunting, i mean. together." ashpaw felt his ears warm up in embarrassment, and he wondered if bluepaw could tell.

"uhh..." the tom stalled, not even able to explain to himself why he was acting like this. probably the fear of getting in trouble: he was a young apprentice, out on the moor without having asked permission. if his mentor found out he'd surely get in trouble.

flicking his tail, he responded, "i just hope my mentor doesn't get mad i left camp without asking."

glancing over her shoulder, honeybreeze couldn't even see camp from where they were standing, or even the path they'd taken to the border. it wasn't that she was lost, she knew every inch of the territory by heart... but they were far from camp, and rain was starting to fall. morningdove would get soaked before they were halfway home.

"we should probably just shelter under a bush until the rain stops," she suggests, flicking her tail towards the bush where she'd buried the hare. "maybe over there?"

lowering her body to the ground, the warrior ducked inside the bush: which was... certainly cozy, but she had enough room to move around. sure, she couldn't sleep stretched out like she preferred if they had to stay the night; and sure, she could feel leaves brushing the ends of her whiskers; but it wasn't uncomfortable.

she hoped morningdove agreed, though. if the other she-cat felt too cramped, honeybreeze would probably take it upon herself to stand out in the rain so neither was too cramped.

"are you alright? with- with this bush, i mean? is it big enough?" her voice held a tinge of embarrassment.

"huh? no, i'm fine with it! don't worry at all, it's warmer this way anyways," she said with a purr, shifting so she was laying down rather than just awkwardly crouching in the exit. her words were truthful- she'd never minded being in small spaces, even though she knew some cats who couldn't stand it.

(i'm sorry this is so short ahh)

"so, do you smell any prey?" ashpaw abruptly changed the subject, scenting the air for prey- he smelled nothing but grass, maybe something that hinted at rain later in the day. his stomach growled, reminding him of the ongoing famine. 'we probably won't find anything.'

"you've gotten stuck?" honeybreeze sounded worried, looking at the fellow warrior with concern in her eyes. though she didn't mind small spaces, she figured that would change if she was trapped and didn't have the option to get out: she shuddered with a frown, before forcing out a purr. "if you got stuck again, i'd pull you out. this bush isn't too prickly, so maybe i'd even spare your fur."

ashpaw said nothing, but he felt like another piece of him had just broken off. the famine was ruining him, just as it was ruining the rest of the clan. all of the clans. they were all dying and so many cats were pretending nothing was wrong, but everything was wrong.

his long pelt hid it well, but all his bones stuck out; his fur that was once sleek and shiny was now dull and unkempt; and often, he'd wake up and find he didn't have enough energy to pull himself from his nest.

letting out a hiss of frustration, he collapsed on the ground angrily. "starclan must hate us. soon enough we'll start going to twoleg dens and begging for their gross rabbit dropping food."

"by your tail?" honeybreeze had had her tail pulled more than a few times, usually by playful kits that wanted to chase it; once by an enemy warrior trying to pull her off their clanmate. and it had hurt, badly, even though it didn't last very long. she couldn't imagine being pulled from a tunnel by it.

shuddering, she shook away the thought, instead addressing everything else morningdove had said. "i'll leave at least one strand of fur and all of your whiskers when i pull you out. or maybe all but one?" she teased.

he was silent for a moment, and sounded ashamed when he spoke: "i came really close a few days ago. a kittypet was on our border and invited us all to come eat at her house when she saw how skinny we were." frowning, he continued; "i probably would have said yes if i'd been the only one there..."

flattening his ears to his head, ashpaw sighed. "i can't believe i even considered it. i never want to be a kittypet. i'm just starving. but we all are, and we have to get through it together, right?.." he offered a weak smile, but didn't turn to face her.

the tabby scoffed. "i'm lucky in the greenleaf, when it's warm and i have no reason that i'd be cold. but in leafbare, or even leaffall and newleaf? i'm always so cold, i start shivering the second i step out of my den." she was looking at morningdove's thick pelt with envy.

"i'd trade with you in a heartbeat," she added.

tigerpaw narrowed his eyes at the loner's demanding words, unsheathing his claws and digging them into the loose dirt beneath his paws. the loner was right, sure, but they weren't supposed to be on thunderclan territory to begin with: regardless of who was saving what.

"fine. i'm sure he appreciates your help. now please take your friend and leave our territory: we'll deal with the rogue, thank you." he said, a hint of a growl in his voice. he still didn't trust the situation one bit.

"my brother has that fur," she says in a frustrated voice, thinking of her younger sibling smokepaw. his fur was longer than hers, though not by much; but compared to her thin fur, it was much thicker. just not as much as morningdove's. she always found it stupid to be envious of an apprentice for such a thing, but she couldn't lie; she was.

noticing that the she-cat seemed cramped, honeybreeze moves to the side, her body now pressing up against the edge of the den.

"take up as much space as you like," honeybreeze said with a purr, barely noticing how close she was to the walls; her den back at camp was small, too, considering she slept in a hollow tree trunk. it had enough space for her, a nest, maybe another cat or two if they were literally laying on top of each other (she knew because once her two younger siblings had had nightmares and insisted on sleeping in her den).

yawning, she rested her chin on her paws, closing her eyes. it was getting late and she was tired. "d'ya think maybe we should just sleep?"

it took him a moment to understand the loners words; the way he spoke confused him, with his odd sayings and weird gestures. but once he understood, he relaxed. just ever so slightly.

"i can take you to see foreststar," he said slowly, turning around and beginning to walk towards camp without another word.

*~Foreststar~* idk what to doo so i'm tagging you)

an hour later, and honeybreeze was still awake.

simply put, she was too cold to fall asleep. the den wasn't well insulated, she obviously hadn't had time to build a nest, it was still raining outside (and some was dripping through the roof); on top of that, her thin fur was the opposite of helpful right now.

staring at the sleeping she-cat across the den from her, she was envious of her thick fur. so slowly, surely... she shuffled over (which was only a few mouse lengths). it was much warmer and she was sure morningdove wouldn't mind- after all, they were clanmates.

    here she is!

i don't know, i just kinda want to do something dark? like for example an abusive relationship, forced kits (i will not not not roleplay this in detail), bad bullying, kidnapping, manipulation ect idk... i want to expand my writing horizons because i only ever write fluff or romance rn :/

HOWEVER IF U DON't WANNA DO DARK AND JUST WANNA DO FRIENDSHIP/SOMETHING LIFHT AND FUN PLEASE HMU AS WELL! i just love roleplaying in general

(he was trying to protect her if that wasn't clear btw)

ashpaw was knocked away from the she-cat with a groan of pain, his back burning where the talons had dug into his skin. but still- he could hear bluepaw fighting the hawk, even with his ears ringing, and he knew she couldn't chase it off alone.

pulling himself to his feet, he shook his head once, twice; until the ringing was gone, before focusing his vision on the hawk. it wasn't looking at him, it's back facing to him. it was then he realized it was rather young.

'it must be young,' he realized, 'and just as hungry as us...'

he felt bad for a moment, before tensing his muscles and leaping onto it's back. digging his claws into it's wings, he struggled to bite down onto it's neck; trying to perform the killing bite. but it was still too strong for him, and it took everything he had to not get thrown off a second time.

"bluepaw!" he meowed, voice muffled by feathers, "cut the hawk's throat! hurry!"
