HISTORY
— at four months old, rose and her family 'split up'; no hard feelings, but they wanted to go different places in their lives.
— rose kind of wandered around for a while? did her own thing. she was high key happy, she made weird friends and did weird things and went weird places.
— she started collecting little pieces of broken mirrors for a while. she thought they were really cool and shiny and shit. she ended up burying them when she decided to move again, and she goes back sometimes just to look at them. they're sort of a therapy for her when she feels lonely or upset.
— she was hunting when she ended up encountering a vixen. unintentionally provoked her by backing away, towards her den with her cubs. vixen attacked her, and she got away with a few scratches.
— they ended up getting pretty infected, so she currently has a fever and all the other stuff that comes with something like that. she's freaking out because she doesn't know how to fix this, and she had a fever dream of dying alone and nobody finding her body. so she's decided to go join a clan.
— showed up at the shadowclan border. to be continued.
FUTURE PLOTS
— she finds out her family has joined other clans and she tries to keep it a secret because she doesn't want anyone to think she'd chose blood over clan. she wouldn't, but she's still not super familiar with clan customs and that sort of thing.
— she doesn't want a clan name because rose is a part of her identity, and she doesn't want to change it just because she lives in shadowclan now. eventually. she realizes that clan life has changed her, and 'rose' will always be a part of who she is, but she isn't that person [cat?] anymore, so she gets a new name.
— rosewater? rosethorn? sunrose? bloomingrose? idk, but it'll have rose in it. a lot of people will still call her rose, because everyone's used to it.
— our girl gets a BAE! she'd be super cute in a relationship and a total cheese ball.
— accidental pregnancy that she doesn't really want because she just wants to be a good warrior right now. she'll still love her kids, but she'll be more career driven. maybe even sneak them out once or twice to get to know their clan land? she wants them to be as proud of shadowclan as she is.
— she finds out her parents died and nobody told her and she flips her shit because she never got to say goodbye.
— finds out about starclan and thinks it's bullshit. but she can tell it's a popular opinion and she really just wants to fit in so she fakes it? it'll never happen, but IF she ever became leader, she'd fake having gotten her nine lives and low key only has one so #yolo

he air was dry, that night. the sky dark, the moon only a slice in the sky, suggesting a moon may arrive soon enough. it was dark, and even the shadows had shadows; among them, however, was a body.
thin and wiry, close set shoulders and long, bony legs, she moved with less grace than she ought to. in fact, she was limping, not favoring any limb in particularly, but wincing with the movement of all of them. she recognized the scent of shadowclan, surprised with how pleasant it was on her senses. she'd expected some sort of assault, but rather, it reminded her of a mixture of pine and warmth and comfort. and he said it'd smell like a dump, she thought of the loner who'd given her directions when she'd gotten lost on her way. though, she fancied, the older feline was probably lucky to be able to still smell anything at all.
it was perfectly warm, and yet, she seemed to shiver. she was cold, even in the hot time. green leaf, her mother had told her when she was young, what the clan cats called it. it was such a funny thing; not all leaves grew green. some didn't grow at all. just like in leaf bare, not all trees lost their leaves. evergreens didn't, even if they had little needle leaves. it was a silly name for a season. no, to her, there was the warm time, the hot time, the cool time, and the cold time. it all made much more sense.
but she wasn't about to go criticizing the clans, especially the one she was presently seeking. she needed them, their help. she was no healer, but the dark colored fem knew her wounds were infected. she was lucky to so much as survive the angry vixen, but at this rate, she wouldn't. the scratches had grown red and infected, swollen beneath her shiny fur. head radiated off of her from her fever, and the day-long trip to the clan had taken three from her troubles with staying awake. the usually strong fem was weakened by the infection. she'd heard about clan cats, about how they had felines specialized in healing. she just hoped they'd help her, rather than chase her off.
it was more than that. she needed them more than that. she'd had some horrid fever dream about dying in her little den a ways off from most others she knew. she'd die there, and for seasons, no one would know of her. she'd be left to rot until there were only bones left, and someone would find her, and think some fox cub had died. she'd always been quite fine with being alone, but not anymore. the moons had caught up with her, and all she wanted was to hear someone snore while she was trying to sleep at night. she just... she wanted someone to care about what happened to her.
she could hunt - she was pretty good at it, in fact. she could fight, even if she didn't love it. she was a fast learner, a good memory. she was most always healthy, though few would believe that at the sight of her currently. she was no prize warrior, but she could offer them something. just as soon as the fever subsided and the swelling went down, she'd be able to turn out more than she took. the only question was whether or not they'd help her.
a car whizzed by behind her on the thunderpath, and she didn't flinch in the slightest. they didn't frighten her, not anymore. not to mention that she didn't want to move forward anymore and intrude on the clans land; that'd be an awful introduction. so rose sat there, green eyes heavy from the pain plaguing her form, hoping someone would show up before she died.

here's little rosie <3
-
so! rose has been a loner her entire life, and she's made a pretty good amount of loner friends? especially in the last four months, since she split with her family and has pretty much been wandering around, doing her own thing.
she's joining shadowclan right now, but maybe they could meet up again and reminisce about the old times?
-
maybe a low key throwback thread (to like, a week ago, before she got hurt) where rose meets her at the border? she'd probably be sniffing around, just curious what they're about, since she wasn't sure what made every clan different from another. they could talk a little and become friends?
-
hello people <3
-
how i feel about all of my characters ^^ i'm trash for romance, ha ha
-
minutes passed, and rose was ready to cry when a saving grace appeared. this time, she was close to tears, not out of fear of dying on the side of the thunderpath, but out of relief. but this would only be the first stage of a difficult process, or so she'd been told once.
sucking in a sharp breath, rose swallowed the nausea from the pain that plagued her. she almost shook on thin limbs, eyes boring into the fem. "m-my name is rose," she told her, voice steadier than she felt inside. she swallowed again. "please, i mean no harm, i just... i want to join. i've encountered a fox, my wounds are infected, i've been dancing with death for days, and i've come to realize that i don't want to be alone anymore.
"please, i know how to hunt and fight well. i won't be a drain. i'm sure, with the right medicines, i'll heal right up and be in fighting mode-" the dam broke and tears began to fall. she hadn't realized just how desperate she was, how afraid of being alone she'd become. she couldn't sleep alone one more night. though, odds were, she wouldn't have to worry about that much longer without medical treatment.

oh my gosh mate! hope all goes well <3 rose'll just be chilling until you're all good

[ oh my gosh, nightbird is now my favorites because stevie is my favorite ]
she was choked up when the next fem would arrive, and in the midst of trying to hold back her tears, felt the need to cry once more when she began to work on the wounds. it didn't hurt her; perhaps it should, but no sting of medicine could match the burning of the wounds. no, she cried in relief, because it had to be fate that a healer would arrive so soon, the proper medicines on hand. it was almost silly, to realize that a few leaves could have avoided all of this, all of this pain and sickness. fate, tonight, was being kind to her.
"tonight will not be the night i perish." she mumbled, almost under her breath. her eyes shut, though she was still conscious. it was easier, functioning with them closed. wasted less energy. at the question, and the initial fem's response, as well as the approach of a third feline, she opened those green eyes.
swallowing the nausea back once more, she tried to meet his gaze, as he'd asked the question. "my name is rose, i'm... hoping to join." she explained. oculars shifting to the second feline, she shifted in her seat. "a vixen. it... it wasn't her fault. when she encountered me, i backed up, towards her nest without realizing it. i did my best to get away without causing her significant harm - she was just a mother trying to protect her young, i couldn't hate her for that." that, that was a perfect example of rose. of the humility she possessed. she'd take a beating and only try to run, not fight back, if she knew she was in the wrong. she was a kind soul, all things considered.
"i, um, i'm a good hunter. and fighter, when i'm not worried about orphaning children. i promise, just as soon as this fever goes down, i'll be a good warrior. a useful warrior."

anyone want future threads with rose? lol, i can post them if/when she's accepted
-
[ ahh, maybe, ha ha ]
she did her best to catch their names, even in her only relatively conscious state. blueblossom, octavia, nightbird... two clan names, she knew, and the other, she fancied, was a loner name. or perhaps a very strange clan name? she'd have to ask, sooner or later. she liked rose, loved her name. it was the only name she'd ever known, and wasn't particularly eager to have it changed. perhaps they'd let her keep hers? another question for another time.
she took the suggestion of bringing her to camp as a good sign. they weren't running her off; they were taking her to the medicine, where she'd be helped, hopefully.
at the male's inquiry, she nodded slowly, not out of hesitance, but lacking the energy to properly nod at a good speed. her eyelids felt heavy, and all she wanted to do was take a nice, long nap. she struggled to keep the green orbs on the male, yawning. "that would be very kind, thank you." she told him, pausing. the younger female of the group seemed to look to him for direction: "are you the, er, leader?" she asked, unsure of whether he had the authority to assure her she was 'in'. more so, though, she didn't want to be sitting there, bawling her eyes out in front of the leader.

QUINN. sure thing mate ^^ i'll @ you!
and ahh bugger, insomnia sucks mate ^^
sorry for *poofing* yesterday. busy day lmao

she was feeling better.
not great, but better. she could keep her head up for more than five minutes, she could walk, she could hold food down. she was doing her best to remain inconspicuous, blend in with the background of the medicine cat's den. she wasn't sure if they'd accept her, welcome her in, and she didn't want to cause trouble. she wanted to belong to somewhere, to something, to someone. she was so tired of nobody caring about what happened to her; her family probably did, but they weren't close. she hadn't a clue on their well being or location.
she was lonely. no friends, no family, no... no one. who'd care if she dropped off the face of the earth? in the past days, her fever dream of dying alone and no one finding her body had resonated with her. she wanted people to care about what happened to her.
but so many months alone made you reserved. she wasn't sure how to just introduce herself and make friends. rose had always had a quieter disposition; she kept to herself, did her own thing, even in the company of others. what little social skills, the small ability to approach others, had diminished when she'd spent so long in silence.
it was sun sleep time (sun down they called it, another phrase she didn't understand; the sun wasn't going down, it was sleeping) in the shadowclan camp. the clan members seemed to be spending time together, talking and eating. rose sat off to the side though, uneasy about approaching others. she wanted to take a walk, stretch the long leg's that had been folded in a nest for so long, but she wasn't sure if she was allowed to by the authorities of the clan, and she wasn't willing to just ask out of the blue.

it was noon, when rose could be found lounging by the border. she could smell the rather distinct scent line, and knew better than to cross it, but there weren't many loners around who wanted to talk, and rose was... in the mood for a conversation. so, naturally, the loner sauntered on over to the closest border she could find to catch someone and have a chat. it was sunny, she was bored - and besides, she did have a few questions.
she hoped they wouldn't overreact. she wasn't crossing the line or eating their food or touching their precious leaves. still, clan cats were always so defensive if you even looked at their borders, like you were thinking of crossing them. ha, no - rose was perfectly happy as a loner, and she wasn't silly enough to go causing trouble where she shouldn't be.
