Alright, so Iris had been a little bit late to the meeting, but hey, at least she managed to get there just in time to catch the end of Frisk's first sentence, imagine if she had missed the entire thing, that'd be pretty embarrassing! Taking a seat, the canine happily hummed to herself, an upbeat little tune that she felt fit this meeting perfectly, and swayed to her own music as she listened to the announcements coming from the totally awesome thing her leader had been using lately to make their voice so loud and reverberate-y. When they mentioned the whole safety from the storms and fortification thing, she had been ready to cheer, but had stopped when she had noticed the clouds above starting to darken a bit. "Uh....Frisk?" she had started to say, before suddenly stopping and clamping her paws over her muzzle. This was a meeting, she really shouldn't be interrupting, and besides, Frisk would totally notice what was going on soon, or someone else would speak up once everything was said and done.
The loud crack and boom of thunder startled her, and she watched as a bolt of white snaked down from the skies and struck a tree, forks of burning white streaking across and through the wood, fire igniting in their path. The moment the husky heard that awful creaking and splintering, the moment that old pine started to tilt, she was already in motion, scrambling for the edge of the clearing, almost tripping over her own paws in her attempt to avoid the falling tree. A crash, followed by billowing, suffocating smoke filling the clearing. Ducking down and giving a few coughs to clear her lungs, Iris waited for the smoke to clear, and turned to face the destruction. She really was fortunate, if she hadn't moved as quickly as she had, or if she had frozen up for even a moment, she wouldn't have come out of that without injury, and it was possibly she might have even lost her life. Eyes darting around the now devastated clearing, the fem searched for survivors, for the injured, she needed to help, to do something, she couldn't feel pain, not like they could, and that made her feel all the guiltier. What was she doing, her clanmates were suffering out there, she needed to do something, anything to assist, and even if some fires still lingered, what was a little heat to someone who couldn't even feel it?
