Dusksparks looked up from his spot as he saw someone approaching. He was.....well, Dusksparks had honestly no clue who this tom was, had never heard or seen of him. He also didn't look like a medicine cat, but that wasn't that big of deal to him - afterall, he had become a medicine cat from necessity, ripped away from his path as a warrior and sent to be the healer because of a vision Rosestar had. Thankfully he was young at the time - only 9 moons old, barely half way through his apprenticeship. (Even though he likes to call himself an ex-warrior, as Rosestar had given him his warrior name beforehand. Was it probably out of pity? Yes, yes of course it was pity. Everyone and their grandmothers knew how passionate little Duskpaw was about becoming a warrior and then later leader. He was still a warrior for all of 5 seconds and that counted for something)

But....maybe that was for the best. He killed someone with half the warrior training, when he was confined to support and healing. Imagine what he could have done as a warrior. Him being medicine cat was to make sure he was out of the way, and he understood that now. He agreed with it now.

Still, he assumed that the scarred tom in front of him was either Riverclan's or Thunderclan's new medicine cat. Which he had no inkling of a clue. So, might as well find out! "Hi!" He called out, getting up and stretching. "Never seen you before - I'm Dusksparks of Darkclan. Who're you? You were a warrior before this, weren't you? So was I! Bumblefoot - he was Windclan's past medicine cat a little back - " Bumblefoot taught him a lot of what he knew. " he was an ex-warrior as well! We can form a club or something! Or maybe not, this is enough of a club, huh?" He said, pushing all his worries back as he returned to his normal, social self. After all, the poor cat looked like he felt so out of place, Dusksparks didn't like it when people looked they felt they didn't belong. Most of the time, those that felt out of place fit perfectly in place!

    //whoops sorrry

Dusksparks saw the group and padded up, listening to the small kits demand for others to play with her. Usually he was all for it....but everyone was so small and he was afraid of himself, afraid he would hurt someone accidentally and - red bloomed out of her neck, he hit a major vein, one that it was almost impossible to stop. He just watched in horror as she looked at him, body frozen as the life drained from her eyes. He did this, he did this, this was his fault, this was all his fault. She was dead he killed her, she wasn't even a forest cat, she didn't even get to go to Starclan she was gone forever. His fault, this was his fault.

He shook his head, trying to get the memory out of his mind. Maybe he should go back to the medicine den. Maybe take a poppy seed and fall asleep until tomorrow. Yeah, that seemed good.

He turned around, feeling awful about this, as he really wanted to play. He did, he loved nothing more than playing with the kits and Sunkit was so precious. But....but he just couldn't.

Dusksparks bit his lip, not liking to see this. She was too dazed to walk right, which means too dazed to fall alseep yet. He was sure that she wouldn't want to hear that. "Alright, I'll bring you back." He said, picking her up and then placing her as gently as he could in a moss nest. "Alright, I'm sorry but you have to stay awake for a little bit longer. Let me try to heal your head for now, but we're going to be talking alright? When you can walk to the other side of this den and back without stumbling you can rest, alright?" He asked, already starting to get everything out, chewing the goldenrod into a paste. "You don't remember your name, but do you remember something else? Anything at all?" He questioned her, spreading the herb on the wound.

//fun fact! marigolds actually do stink real bad, and i bet even more so to cats!

Dusksparks had heard his new patient get up and walk out, and then started yelling about things. Concerned, he stopped going through his herbs like he was doing, and followed her out. However, it seemed as if Ruepaw was handling it as well as he could. But, Dusksparks could take it from here. "I'm Dusksparks. You were found with your head bashed in by Lilystar, Panthercrawl, and Riftheart. The white cat was Lilystar, our leader here. You were brought in yesterday, and very out of it. You also weren't the happiest with me for making you stay up when you very clearly had too much of a concussion to be able to fall unconscious safely." He said, amused. "And the stink you're smelling is the marigold paste on your head. It's there to both heal the wound and to make sure it doesn't get infected. There's also some goldenrod I put on to stop the inflammation." He said, reciting everything that he thought could help get the small kit grounded.

// SHEEPBRAIN sorry it's so dark. hopefully it'd get lighter but dusk's going through some stuff

Once again, Dusksparks was outside. He should be back in his den, all nice and warm and asleep, happy that everything was going good and his daughter was back home safe. Yet.....yet it seemed like every time he closed his eyes he was back there again, back with Elijah as she constantly tormented his thoughts. Really, it served him right - he killed her after all. He would be more concerned if he did and didn't feel anything. He felt, deep down, that that was worse. But he also felt, deep down, that this would be his end - that death was coming for him, the bitter feeling of betrayal as his best friend makes sure he dies.

But that never happened - he was sure. It was the strange cat from his dreams, which looked a bit like Cedarpaw (which hurt tremendously to think about, even now). He had been getting nightmares of that as well, of killing another cat, in another time. But then......then he had no remorse, had felt it was a good thing. Or, at least, that was what he felt in his nightmares.

......Was he a monster? She was a Bloodclanner, but she was still a cat. He didn't think she had children but she had a brother, who must be devastated right now. And trying to find her killer. Really, his days were numbered. He was going to die soon, he knew it - could feel it in his bones. He was going to die, and he would deserve it. Would Starclan even let him in? Would he see his family again, would his friends and children die, expecting to see him again only to find out he wasn't there? But it was what he deserved. She didn't get to go to Starclan, he ripped that ability right from her. Why should he get to?

His stomach churned and he felt like he was on the verge of tears. He wondered, would it hurt everyone less if he went right now? Went right to Bloodclan to confess, to get his death over with now instead of later. What did a dead man walking do? His dark thoughts seemed to swarm and swarm, until he could barely see anything out of it.

Dismas couldn't help it. He felt bad, and he bet it wasn't helping her embarrassment in the slightest.

But he just laughed - laughed so hard he felt like he was starting to cry. "Oh...oh Lily. I-it seems like - seems like you were expecting something else weren't you?? Na-nah, it's just me." He managed to get out through his laughter. He took a moment to compose himself, feeling bad at her already beat red face.

"I hope you don't get offended if I refuse you on your offer. But that was good - glad to see you and Sid not dancing around each other anymore and going for the kill, huh?" He said, lighthearted, bumping her with his shoulder. "But......I have something for you! Happy Valentines Day! I know how much you love roses, and how much you love chocolate, so I thought this would be the most appropriate. Besides, it might be our last one with both of us single together. Hi Reyes, doing anything tonight?" He said, handing over the sweet bouquet t his best friend and stepping into the house, waving to the teen that seemed to reside at his and Lily's apartment more than his actual house. Hugo's sure at this point the two were basically his guardians at this point.

That was, until he saw The Wall. Oh god, oh god no. He buried his burning face into his hands and made out a whimpering sound. "Lilyyyy" He said, glad for not the first time his skin was dark enough the flush on his face wasn't viable. "Lily noooo. Wait, oh god, people are coming over!" He complained, moving quickly to try and take all the photos down before anyone could see any of them. How did she even get this many pictures in the first place? He knew, he liked to take selfies and anyone even remotely close to him has found themselves subject to many many impromptu selfies with him. Still, she must have really dug through all of social media.

"And I don't even like him in that way. We're just friends, okay? And Reyes! Buddy! I thought you were on my side, how could you let her put this up and not try to stop her??" He asked, face still aflame.

//i actually changed his name from hugo to dismas recently!

And just like that, Dismas felt this was how the world ends - not with either fire or ice, but with one clueless Russian materializing out of the kitchen. Oh God, why didn't think of that possibility? Sure, it was early and he was just came from the house, but Dismas was gone for a whole hour, of course that was enough time for someone to come in during that time and make himself at home.

He buried his head further into his hands, trying to not die right on the spot. His face was burning, he was sure that soon his skin's gonna melt off or something soon. He felt something hit the back of his head (with pinpoint accuracy, so must have been Buck), and he instinctively reacted, flinching and looking to the source. And goddamnit, there was, in fact, Buck. Who came up to him, clamping his shoulder, and declare that he liked being up there. Dismas wondered what he was thinking it was for. "Buck......quick question. What do you think it is exactly?" He asked his friend, hoping that it was something less embarrassing, that he could claim it was.

Dusksparks heard Robinwing's cry, and came fast as he could. A kit missing? Usually that wasn't a desperate call to action (kits like to explore, he knew), but with the storm and weather, it was more desperate than usual. Plus, Dovekit was his own granddaughter, he didn't want anything to happen to her. "Dovekit's missing? Do you want me to ask Obsidianstorm to prepare a search group for her? If not though, I'm still coming with you to help find her." The medicine cat said, looking between his adopted cousin and the ex-Skyclanner.

//screams i love this!! im dying of laughter tbh

Dusksparks was out gathering herbs when he came across a sight he never could even imagine in a hundred seasons - Beechpaw and Sedgepaw both stuck in a strange round object with a rat, Ruepaw trying to tug them out, all of them freaking out. "What, might I ask, happened here?" He asked, willing the amusement out of his tone.

Before seeing the problem and sighing, trying really hard not to chuckle. "Alright, Ruepaw - I'm going to tip the sphere over and hold it still, you then pull them out. Alright?" He instructed, going to the opposite end with no giant hole and leaning on it, using all his body weight to make sure it doesn't roll around and that the hole was parallel to the ground, so it was just like any other small hole.

    *:・゚✦ Dusksparks

Dusksparks tensed up as he heard pawsteps come closer, not wanting anyone to find him and see him like this. After all, he was the one to comfort others, the support. He wasn't the one that others supported, it didn't work like that. But it was Buckdrift, who has proven that he really just wants to help and do the best he can for others, even if gets confused a lot - with was very admirable in the healer's eyes.

Dusksparks sighed as it became clear that he had been too obvious with his troubles. That others had noticed. On one hand, he still fought against that, not wanting anyone to be worried or stressed over him, but another side felt that it didn't even matter in the first place. After all, he's going to be gone soon anyways - whether by Bloodclan or his own doing, he didn't feel like he should stay in Darkclan that much longer. Monster.

He shook his head, trying to get rid of those thoughts. And he didn't feel like it was fair to burden the other with his own problems as well. He was meant to save others from their own problems, not to add on. But the other tom was already worried, and he knew if he just left it as is, then the other would just continue to be worried. And besides, Dusksparks really did desperate want someone that he could lean on, someone that he could show a bit of weakness to for once in his life. Didn't have to be the strong (mentally) and well-put together example. And, well, he was weak in this moment. Maybe if he was in a bit better place in the moment he would try to deflect it and brush it off like normal, but he was weak and hurting and Buckdrift was offering help that he so desperately wanted.

"I- I did something horrible." He whispered, hestiantly. Horrible, so horrible. "Something completely unforgivable."

Oh God, oh no. This couldn't be happening. It seemed Buck seemed to know what the wall was, in fact, for. It seemed that the whole nuance of how they were supposed to be the ones that Dismas liked romantically - even if he wasn't! He wasn't even like any of them like that outside of a strictly platonic sense! - to taunt him completely escaped the immigrant. For the better, he felt. For the better.

But the wink, oh God what was the wink for? Did Buck know the true reason of the wall? Dismas felt his heart stop for a second. He was so confused, and just wanted to erase the whole entire day and restart. Maybe do one of those Groundhog Day things, where it would just repeat until everything went right and how it was supposed to. That way he would stop Lily before this could even start.

"How about this! Let's forget all about the wall, and let's talk about our plans for tonight! Yeah, how about that?" He suddenly exclaimed, subtly ripping the photos that he held in his hands in half and dropping them. But after all, it was good thing to do. "Also Lily, for being responsible for this I demand half of the roses I just gave you back." He said to his best friend. After all, Sid was probably going to show up any second with even more chocolate and things for her anyways, and he needed some freaking chocolate right now.

    // Lilystar ;)

Dusksparks arrived right behind his apprentice as he made his way to the small group. He then dipped his head as he say that it was the Stoneteller herself. "Sky with No Moon! It's nice to finally make your acquaintance, although I hope that nothing is wrong in the Tribe. I'm assuming you want me to get Lilystar?" The medicine cat asked. He didn't think that he ever met the Tribe leader in person, and he really did hope that nothing was wrong. "Also hello there you two! I'm Dusksparks, Darkclan's medicine cat." He greeted the two apprentices (there was a different name for tribe apprentices that escaped his mind at the moment). While he didn't meet that many tribe cats, he did realize that one of them looked familiar somehow, but he couldn't think of where he had ever seen her before. Strange.

    *:・゚✦ Dusksparks

    ——| tags *:・゚✦

Dusksparks was in his den doing his daily inventory and sorting of the herbs when he scented (and heard) the Stoneteller of the Tribe coming tramping into camp, demanding that she see him. Well, if that didn't terrify him a bit.

Still, maybe there was something wrong in the tribe and she was needing his help. After all, the tribe had no real medicine cat and it was the leader's duty to be in charge of all of that. Which was strange and he felt like disaster waiting to happen - there's no way that one cat could both be a good leader as well as a good medic. Either they'd mostly focus on leading the clan and neglect the herbs and medicine (thus putting the clan in a dangerous spot when a fully disciplined and full time healer is needed) - or they would mostly focus on the medicine part and neglect leadership duties. But still, it was no place for him to judge, and maybe the tribe had figured out the balance in that better than he could imagine.

But regardless, if the tribe needed his help then of course he would help in any way that he could. There was no sickness or big injuries he was looking after currently, and he did have two apprentices for a reason. "Sky with No Moon, hello!" He called out friendly, yet his expression one of mild alarm. "Come in to my den, let's speak! Or at the very least, so you can tell me what's wrong while I pack things up." He warmly half-way joked, motioning the foreign power into the camp and into his den.

// Twilightrise. also want to pretend this happened soon after they came back?

Dusksparks was many things, but one thing he was not was an idiot. Usually. He had his moments sure, but this was not the time, was his point. He knew that his daughter was pregnant and that it was probably with the other prisoner that he rescued along with Twilightpaw. He didn't know the story at all, but he was a little shocked that it happened at all - Twilight was known for many many things, and one of those was her stubbornness (which she completely inherited from him, truthfully) and she barely could tolerate others, much less - ugh, he really didn't want to think of his apprentice child having mated. At least it was with someone closer to her age at least, unlike her brother.

Was that a personal failing of him? What did he do wrong earlier on that made it so that 2 of his kids were having kids when they were still kids? Granted he was kidnapped by twolegs for a while - was that it? But Lilystar was looking after them in that time (he presumed), so it wasn't like they were completely alone. Sure, he knew that the kits were always more his than Lily's, even going so far as to how she would barely see them in the nursery when they were all kits, but that's mostly changed, hadn't it?

But that was not the only reason why he was worrying about her. She was in Bloodclan for so long, who knows what they did to her? He wanted to save and protect everyone, sure, but certainly his children. He never wanted them to have a single struggle in their life, but it almost seemed like they had to go through struggle after struggle. But she was here now, and he would make sure from now on that he would be better, that nothing like this could ever happen again.

So he had been looking for the small frame that he knew so well, some herbs in his mouth. Seeing her, he padded up behind her slowly enough that she could hear and scent him before he reached her, and sat down right next to her. "Hey there, my stars. Can I look at your paw? It doesn't look the greatest." He said lightly, looking at her eyes. Starclan, how he's so glad she's still alive and (mostly) well, he was so worried for some time.

    *:・゚✦ Dusksparks

    ——| tags *:・゚✦

Dusksparks, as the only one who knew the truth, had been keeping a close eye on Twilightpaw. Sure, she might have hated it if she knew, but darn it no matter how she felt about it she was still his little girl, and he was also her medicine cat. So when she suddenly disappeared, he got scared. And supicious when it was much longer than a simple dirt break. Grabbing a few herbs, he ran out and followed her scent. Sure enough, there seemed to be a crowd already forming. And in the middle of it was Twilightpaw - and 6 little newborn kits. He heard all their names - his grandchildren. These kits would be very mixed he realized - some of Shadowclan, some of Darkclan, some of whatever other clan that tom came from. Still, he saw as Twilightpaw crouched over the little wet bundles, like she was ready to attack the next cat that came a bit closer to them. "They're beautiful, Twilightpaw. It seems that I came too late, I apologize. But here are some borage leaves - it helps both to stimulate more milk flow as well as give the milk that does come out more quality, more nutrients." He explained, handing over the aforementioned herb.
