KAIRA COSMIA
queen / 22 years / ♀ / interaction: open
*:·゚✦ the morning luminance filtered through the sheer curtains draping her window; the red-embellished room enflamed by the sunlight that stretched from wall-to-wall, banishing the shadows of night to its barren corners. the young woman furrowed her brow, violet eyes reluctantly opening as the heat of the sun baked her pale face. a soft grunt escaped kaira's lips. she drew herself into a sitting position, slender hands rising to rub the sleep from her eyes before she stretched her arms over her head and squared her shoulders. her long white hair framed her body as she moved, swaying from side to side as she pulled the covers and quilts from over her body and swung her legs over the side of the bed. the young woman lingered there for a moment, eyes adjusting to the drastic change of lighting, until the details of the room were clear to her. the deep red of cosmia. the paintings that depicted the woman said to be her greatest-grandmother; the goddess said to be her. a shiver rolled over her shoulders, down her spine. it was time to be a queen again.
kaira stepped towards the rack in the corner of her room where her dresses were hung orderly, likely cleaned by the valets and perfected by the tailors recently. she only had to wear a dress once for it to be deemed needing of repairs. her tired violet eyes skimmed the hanging garments for something to wear, until one dress intrigued her fancy. she drew it out; a beautiful white gown with intricate jewel beading, loose and airy yet maintaining the elegance expected of a queen, perfect for the summer weather. she briskly changed out of her sleeping wear, a simple, light, practically unfitted white silk dress and changed into her day's attire. she flung the nightgown over a nearby chair. the valets would care for it. then, slipping into short white heels, kaira headed towards the door of her room. her hand rested on the handle; a simple push was all that was needed to commence her day, yet she hesitated still. for a moment, a storm of images and emotions swirled within her, percolating through her brain, festering on her mind. yet, with a shake of her head, the queen cleared her thoughts, lifted her chin, and curled her plump lips into a smile.
it was morning in the kingdom of cosmia.
with a push, kaira opened the door and stepped into the hall, closing it behind her. beneath her gown her stomach grumbled ravenously, reminding her that, of all the responsibilities piled on her shoulders, breakfast was the first thing on the agenda. she began to head down the hall when her violet hues caught on the muscular frame of her brother, kasper, existing his own room. her breath caught in her throat and she halted abruptly as their eyes met. her brother only needed the heartbeat to transfer the hatred boiling within him towards her. yet, he likewise only needed a heartbeat to have enough of her; with a quite obvious displeased, curt turn of his heel, kasper walked down the hall and disappeared downstairs. kaira sighed, half out of relief, half out of disappointment. no matter, she told herself. there are more important things at hand. with that, the queen continued down the hall, her feet gravitating towards the door that led to the room that had been gifted to her fiancé, lord aidan. her heartbeat began to pick up as she neared it, her hesitation returning, though this time for a different, much more pleasant reason. she pondered outside the door; was he awake yet? perhaps they could go eat together. though, she didn't want to disturb his slumber if the morning hadn't done so itself just yet. here, she waited, debating what to do, as the kingdom continued to squirm and awaken.
KASPER COSMIA
prince / 33 years / ♂ / interaction: open
*:·゚✦ kasper woke alongside the sun, though the man didn't move as it made its steady ascent into the sky. he lay in bed with a mind churning, a soul yearning, hands tapping impatiently into the mattress as he stared thoughtfully out the window that took one wall in his room. he was unbothered by the almost blood-red shadow that the morning sun reflected across his room off the crimson adornments that it was made from. the only irritation under kasper's skin was another day ahead of him of being called "prince".
with a grunt of disdain, kasper climbed out of his bed finally, annoyed at last of being in one place for too long. he drew on his casual dress- a simple, yet still embellished tunic over slacks, tucked into high boots and beautified by the addition of a belt garnished in gold. off this, he hung his sword, what many in the cosmian court of high or knightly ranking did more as decoration than of need, though kasper found more than just ego in doing so. he found comfort, preparation, necessity. his sword was the only thing he could trust by his side wholeheartedly. in a castle where so many denounced him, the prince valued such knowledge greatly. yet, prepared for the day ahead, kasper headed towards his door and emerged from his chambers, assaulted immediately by the sight of his white-haired sister, kaira. almost instantaneously, disgust was to be tasted in the back of his throat, his lip twitching and brow furrowing in recoil. he saw a flash of agony cross her youthful features for a moment; he hadn't guessed a goddess could feel something so human. yet, whatever followed such a feeling wasn't his business. kasper turned abruptly and stalked down the hall away from his sister, heading downstairs to the middle level of the castle. his steps echoed through the corridors, bouncing off the stone walls and high ceilings that loomed overhead. he made his way to the library. his light blue eyes scanned over the room, red like most every other part of the castle. here, books were pressed against the walls like wallpaper, painting the space with the mottled color of knowledge. he meandered through it towards a door that led to a rather expansive balcony, constructed for those who enjoyed fresh air as they read. here, he took a seat, resuming the position he had maintained in his bed. it was his usual spot; gazing out across the mountainous land that was the kingdom of cosmia. his birthright. his namesake.
he narrowed his eyes, his fingers beginning to tap once more.
DAVID BRICKENDEN
duke / 45 years / ♂ / interaction: open
*:·゚✦ david, likewise, had risen alongside the sun. it was a habit of his, engraved in him by his father since childhood. your work day began with the sun, and ended with it, as well. the time depended on the season. clients were more available in the summer, anyways. there was always more to do. yet, as the man wandered across the small square constructed at the center of the humble town built inside the court, to the entrance of the castle he pondered if such theory was true anymore. work had been steadily more available with every year that passed, no matter the season- provided graciously by the prince he had watched grow over the three decades since his birth. many times had he confided in him as a young man of his upset, his inner yearning for power. as one who could relate, david righteously agreed to him. the two conspired for years about the prince's right to the throne, about how to achieve it, so much so the man might even call the prince a friend. yet, there was always much to do- he had his farms to attend, as well as people to convince of whom the throne truly belonged to. with that, david entered the court, his eyes scanning the premises for someone to fill his time with.
CAROLINE JONES
stablehand / 26 years / ♀ / interaction: open
*:·゚✦ caroline didn't have the privilege of sleeping in like some of the higher-ups. she dragged herself out of bed at sunrise, groggily stumbling through her quarters as she cleaned herself up some, creating a more presentable facade to which face the day. she tied her light brown hair into a braid and slipped into her usual wear of boyish slacks, a white shirt and boots, then proceeded to depart from her room in haste to make it to the stables. the sun was already rising in the sky by the time the soles of her shoes struck the square floor, carrying her hurriedly across towards the stables where the horses resided. caroline pushed open the large door, letting the morning light leak into the stable and spill across the stalls, surely waking any horses that might have been sleeping. the metal heels on her boots mimicked the sound of hooves as she walked down the stone path cutting down the center of it, covering her mouth in a lazy yawn as she extended her arms in a luxurious stretch. feeding the horses was the only duty she bothered herself with completing dedicatedly; the animals had to eat, and as much as she hated working, she cared too much for them to even risk harming them. she arrived at the back of the house where stacks of hay were built into towers. time to get started.
with powerful motions of her arms, caroline began to disperse the hay to every stall, providing breakfast for the horses who were interested in eating right after waking up. for some, she had learned over time, it was crucial- for others, they could wait some time. she repeated the same actions- grab, lift, and swing- until she reached the stable where the general's horse, her personal priority, was situated. as she dropped the hay inside, caroline stretched out her hand, letting the horse approach and nuzzle into her palm. "mornin', boy,"
she cooed. "ready for today?"
LUTHER WARNER
knight / 24 years / ♂ / interaction: open
*:·゚✦ luther awoke abruptly, leaping out of bed and practically jumping out of his sleeping clothes and into his day ones. blonde locks bounced around his head as the young man shimmied into his boots and hurried out the door, almost forgetting to close it behind him. his blue eyes were bright with zeal; it was a new day, and in his mind, that meant there were hundreds of surprises waiting in store for him. what would they day have to bring? what would he do? who would he meet? what would he eat? the last question seemed to linger on his mind as he bustled across the square towards the court, his stomach grumbling beneath his tunic. luther maneuvered smoothly down the halls, scampering into the kitchen where some cooks and bakers had already begun preparing. he paused at the door, anticipating the perfect opportunity to sneak in and snatch a roll of bread while none of the bakers were looking. his shoe tapped impatiently against the floor, a growl resonating through his body, tossed between his ribs and shaking his gut. great cosmia, he hadn't realized how hungry he was. yet, he knew he'd only remain hungry if he ruined his chance to snatching some bread. thus, he waited, standing as nonchalantly as he could outside the kitchen door, sneaking in sly glances every now and again to scope out the perfect moment to go in for the kill.
