Appearance:

Name: Tor'Kuul.
Age:
46.
Race:
Orc.
Gender:
Male.
Sexuality:
Asexual.
Personality (optional):
Tor'Kuul is the very definition of 'rough-around-the-edges.' He is not particularly wrongful to those around him, and in fact has a wonderful sense of humor. His years of combat experience have rendered him nearly blind to the feelings of others, causing him to often times come off as brash and dull. In combat, he is a different beast: The cruelty he inflicts on others bolsters his courage. Every drop of blood shed, to or from him, brings about glory and pride.
History (optional):
Born a bastard son in the Cidhna Mines, Tor'Kuul was torn from his parents and sent to an orphanage in Riften. As the years passed and his friends found homes across all of Skyrim, Tor'Kuul eventually grew to the age where he was forced from his old home. He set foot, and within three mere days out of the orphanage, he was taken captive by bandits not far from the old city. His years in the orphanage had hardened him to feeling lonely, and the solace provided let his mind ponder the many various ways to escape. What happened from then on remains a mystery; he will not disclose the details of the actual escape. All he will tell you, is that on that night, he found out about his uncanny ability and prowess in combat. He immediately set on to find better equipment, joining countless mercenary camps and warriors guilds. Just like his days in the orphanage, he always managed to find himself the last remaining of his peers.
Other: Hopefully this is an acceptable form! May get another character. If this needs any tweaking, let me know.

Name: Myxogastrians.
Appearance:

Age: 13.2 Trillion Years Old.
Species: Myxogastria Antiquorium.
History: Myxogastrians were founded upon a small cluster of asteroids, towards the start of known universe. They began extremely basic, but as time went on, they evolved to have their communicative properties with each other. As other races began to crop up throughout space, they found themselves even more substrate to grow on- and, as they eventually became space-fairing, methods to spread and reproduce.
Tactics: Myxogastrians typically attack by surrounding and outnumbering their opponents. They rarely try and fight one-on-one, and have a tendency to try make their way through things bluntly. They rarely make their own equipment and use that which they can take from others- including their victims. Ships they commandeer from others typically also act as breeding grounds, where they are filled with as large a Oomycite as possible. This typically fills the entire ship, due to the comparatively welcoming environment.
Homeworld: Having originated during the basic formation of the universe, the Myxogastrians formed one of the first lifeforms on a simple cluster of asteroids. As the asteroids broke apart, they spread, staying linked by unknown methods. At this, they do not have a homeworld.
Hivemind: The entirety of the Myxogastrian 'race' is often considered a single organism- but in fact, it is a colony of many individual organisms. It appears sentient and intelligent, and holds a unified mental structure across the whole colony. The method for this is unknown for certain, but it is likely that the Myxogastrians act as a giant brain, with each individual sending messages to the rest of the colony.
Hivemind Personality: While comparatively basic, the Myxogastrians have one basic wish: To thrive. The Colony seems to want only to expand, and does so rather effectively.
Warriors: Large globs of cells, called Oomycites, serve as the tendrils of the Colony. They are not physically connected, but do somehow manage to communicate with the main colony and share its ideals, and are considered as part of it.
Lesser Controllers: N/A.
Doomsday Devices/Racially Distinctive Abilities: By surrounding and probing lifeforms, large enough Oomycites can force themselves into nearly organism and kill them by mangling the innards of it. Large Oomycites are known to coat entire planets, killing life via suffocation or mutilation and using the bodies as their breeding grounds for another Oomycite. Upon death of a cell or a full command from the Colony, spores are released, and if in the proper abysmal conditions, they may start to rapidly grow.
What it's Based On: Modern-Day Slime/Bread Molds.
Other: Second form to date. Please let me know if anything needs a change!

The bandit outlaw typically kills himself, if you let him wander on a bit longer!
He's not the brightest outlaw. -
The Abyss Beacons...
________________________________________________________________"When I first began piloting the V-80, I had just began my venture into space travel. My license was fresh, I had hope in my heart... and, more importantly, credits in my pocket. The galaxy was our oyster- and who's to say it still isn't? We just have a bit more work to do, Is all. With the hell this ship's been through, we need to be careful. Pirates, Space Krakens, Religious Zealots... anything could get us. But I know we're safe- after all, I have the best crew in history to back me up... Right?" ________________________________________________
"The Abyss Beacons" is a Sci-Fi action-oriented roleplay, set in our very own Milky-Way Galaxy. Your characters will have embarked upon the V-80 with their captain, who has promised a hefty payment for your services. The history, appearance, attitude, and race of your character is all your own. Rules and the like will be elaborated on below! ________________________________________________________________
1. All Feral-Front rules apply.
2. Please speak with the thread creator when wanting to enact a massive plot device (Purchasing a new ship, mutiny, Killing off a character, etc...)
3. Obviously, nothing too controversial (No extreme gore, smut, etc...)
4. No god-modding.
5. You may choose whatever Sci-Fi race you wish- but please, follow rule 4.
6. Keep IC drama IC. OOC drama will not be tolerated.
7. If you have issues with anything or anyone, talk it out, and be polite and patient.
8. Things will be rough in space. If you feel like things are stacked against you, it is because they are.
9. Keep it as realistic as one can keep space travel.
10. Direct questions to the creator.

Years have passed since the trans-racial pact was formed, uniting nearly every sentient species in the Galaxy under a supreme council. While the council is fair and its people happy, they have found their military spread thin. And from its weakness has sprung the galactic terrorist group, Anima Tenebris. Its followers are many, and its leader is a mysterious, shrouded figure. Their goal seems clear: spark war among the peaceful species. But the council has stood strong, and they will not bend to the will of these terrorists! Citizens now find themselves taking arms to defend against the rebellion onslaught. Through these trials, the bonds between each race is nearly fully integrated- all that remains is the acquisition of peace.

Character Name: Maximilian Sinclaire
Character Race: Human.
Character Age: 32.
Character Role: Pilot.
Character Appearance: Maximilian, or Max for short, Is a tall, broad chested man of a comparatively dark complexion. He stands at 6'4, and is not afraid to show so. He stands tall and proud, with tanned skin and pitch black hair. His thick yet short beard covers everything beneath the cheekbones, and his eyes are a stark blue. While his stature alludes to his pilot status, his outfit says little: He often wears his old, dusty, hand-me-down work outfit.
Character Attitude: Max is a rather forthright man, believing in the old values of freedom and democracy ordained by his home on Earth. He is optimistic almost always, but tends to crack under the pressure of too much to do. Despite is just and kind nature, little is known of him. He is, at best, a recluse. He takes care of his crew, and to him, that seems just right.
Character History: N/A
Character Traits/Abilities: Exceptional Pilot and Leader.

Tor'Kuul
Tor'kuul was five seconds from snapping his puny bindings in two and splitting every Imperial Soldier within a ten-mile radius in half. The sheer, brooding fury on his face, tattered with light scars, showed such anger. But in truth, He knew well not much would accompany his escape other than his death. He was bound to be shot to the ground by inevitable hails of arrows. And thus, he decided he'd be better off sitting, grumbling, and waiting. He took in his surroundings, looking over the faces of his fellow captives in the carts and trying his best not to unleash a flurry of obscenities at the cart driver. Such a poor day to be in a bad mood, it seemed!
-
Roles would be something like Engineer, Combat Specialist, and the like. For an elf character (Which I love, by the way, seeing as you don't find a Fantasy race in Sci-Fi all that often,) I would recommend some sort of weapon or crafting role!
-
TheNextSmallThing ,
Thanks for asking! Unfortunately, The character of Maximilian is already both the Pilot and the main recruiter for the ship. He pays his crew and looks after them, so it is safe to assume he is the captain. Luckily, due to his background in democracy and equal representation, the word of Benny has just as much weight as his. I would recommend a role in weaponry and combat, such as the Head Weapons Engineer!
-
I know I'd be out of it. Imagine that dude in Sovngard!
"So, I woke up, and this dude Immediately started wailing on me! Like, full on, took the mace, into my shins. 10,000 years of rest and I get 0 time to stretch. To hell with the physical plain, I'm going to oblivion."
-
Wonderful! You are both accepted. Upon gaining two more characters, I will engage the full roleplay.
-
Arya is accepted, and, thanks to your role, I realize I have not implemented a medical bay. I will fix that pronto!
-
Trexgirl I typically imagine that characters have some training in most basic space stuff, like combat. But, that is completely up to you- If you would like your character to be extremely well versed in one thing but poor in all other aspects, It is up to you. Truly, as long as you aren't godmodding (Which I hardly see as a problem on here,) I think you are entitled to your own creative liberties with your character!
-
It is beyond proficient. I must say, the quality of writing on this site is much higher than what I typically find elsewhere. Bravo to you and the rest of your good lot for your prowess with literature!
-
I certainly wish I had a site like this for practice. Writing is the souls way of putting out words for all the world to read. A voice will die, and art will forever be subjective. But literature is forever, and to me, it is the most deeply connected to the soul of all the arts. So to hell with those who may detest your work, and may you always find a place to scribe yourself a place in history!
-
You are both accepted! Now, unfortunately, I will be a tad busy tonight, so it is rather unlikely that I will get the roleplay thread up. However, you can expect it tomorrow, by at most 12:00 PM. We may get more submissions until then, so we will see if we can get even more to our crew!
-
Accepted! I say, seven people on our ship. Do any of you want a cap on how many people?
-
Hopefully a good thing. If not, do not worry, its not always this eccentric. I have a tendency to go a tad overboard. What can I say? Its fun!
-
Noted! I think 12 Might be a more realistic and reasonable cap, simply due to feasibility's-sake. After all, it is my first thread. Keeping things in line shouldn't be too difficult at that number. I look forward to having your friend com along. For now, I think I shall retire for the night. Tomorrow, the RP Thread!
-
In that case, thank you kindly! Regardless of whatever musings I- or any of us- shall make, I will retire for the night. See you all tomorrow, cannot wait to see what comes of this thread!
