((It's no problem of the wait, thank you for your participation guys!))

The sound of brush being disturbed caught Dunnocktail's attention. Although he saw the bright fur of the leading cat approaching, Dunnocktail's eyes widen as more bodies began to appear from forest's cast shadows. He moved his head to try to count, but then disregarded it. A small thought crept, that perhaps he was looking for any familiar faces, but that dissipated too. He can tell there wasn't going to be a fight.

He felt more relief after hearing Wasppaw's kind greeting. He responded, "Hello" and imitated the young cat's smile on his own face. He then straighten his back, his lighter chest fur pushed forward. "I wish to speak with your leader and, I believe that my reason would be better heard when I speak to them."

He bit his tongue from saying anymore, else to make the situation more confusing. Already it would be reason enough for the cats to be suspicious of how much Dunnocktail knows about their clan. Perhaps declare him a spy— a threat to be fought and taken care of. Dunnocktail lowered his head and slump his shoulders; this reflected his building anticipation for the response from this patrol.

At first, Dunnocktail didn't notice the smaller black-and-white apprentice in the back of the patrol. Then, the name Poppystar echoed in Dunnocktail's mind for reasons he can't explain. The offer to bring the leader to this clearing made Dunnocktail step forward quickly. "If I may ask," He began, "could I be taken to see your leader, Poppystar directly. You all live in a camp right?" He already knew the answer, unless things have greatly changed SkyClan still has their camp. "I understand if you think that's a bad idea, but if you suspect that- I would do something, I'll at least be surrounded by many of you. You can take me there." Speaking this way left a bitter feeling in Dunnocktail's throat. In order to not raise questions, he has to speak as if he's separate and ignorant of the clan— but hopefully not for long.

I have to say, I've been really enjoying the thread for Dunnocktail. I know at this point I'm repeating myself, but thank you!! It's so fun to be role playing again. :-[

((It's also fun to be in Dunnocktail's second guessing mindset- leads to strange and funny thoughts.))

With a respectful dip the head, Dunnocktail acknowledged the two cats. "It's, nice to meet you." He stuttered. The silence after the introductions continued for a few heartbeats, Dunnocktail then realized the cue. It's been a long time since Dunnocktail had introduce himself to any other cat, and now he'd rather not because it would be too revealing. Perhaps, he could think of an alias that would fit for a loner. After some consideration, (Brown.. Brownfur— no... Acorn?) he decided it's best not to lie.

The corners of Dunnocktail's mouth stretched back in an awkward smile. In attempt to break the thick tension, Dunnocktail stood up. "Can we go now?" He hopes that Wasppaw was telling the truth that it is okay to speak with Poppystar, but he assumes that medicine cats are usually empathetic to all cats.

It was only a few paw steps before interruption. Dunnocktail whipped his head to the cat that now appeared from the undergrowth, and was taken aback by the bristling fur. He had to respond to the tom's words, almost quicker than he could process them.

"I-I know who this territory belongs to," he answered, (In hindsight, Dunnocktail hopes that didn't sound conceited.) "I'm being taken to the camp right now. I have to speak to Poppystar. Wasppaw said, it was alright."

Already Dunnocktail felt a dependence on this medicine cat, who was a complete stranger a moment before. There is a risk that Dunnocktail may be wrong to trust Wasppaw as his defense, and that raises his fur more than the sight of the hissing cat.

Looking past the patrol in front of him, Dunnocktail could barely make out another clearing. He hopes it's the camp— so close to being there again. Dunnocktail will have to bite his impatience and assure the tom.

"I'm not here to harm anyone, and if asked by your leader, I'll leave."
