//bc i'm a sucker for this au
you don't have to make your characters young, though, i'm going by his original age (just in human years)Wren had stayed up late, as usual. He was hanging around with his buddies in the park, as they were still too young to drink, joking around with each other and picking on any younger kids that came along. Although he wasn't involved in any of the school's sports, he was pretty popular. He was fairly strong, for a sixteen year old anyway, and while he had thought about trying out for track, he decided against it. He was stronger in his upper-body than his legs. His younger siblings could probably outrun him any day. But he prided himself in his broader chest and wider arms.As the dark grew, he had called it a night, though some of his mates stuck around. He made the trek back to his house, guided along by the streetlights, certain his brothers and sisters were wondering where he had gone off to. He didn't mind, though-hell, they were probably asleep by this hour. Creeping into the house, he was deemed right by the inky blackness beyond the back-door, quietly climbing up the stairs and retreating to his room. Then morning came all too quickly, light streaming in through his blinds, illuminating his room.
He groaned softly, the sound of his alarm stirring him from sleep. He cursed and slowly sat up, glancing over at the time displayed on his phone. 7:20. He spat a loud 'fuck' and clambered out of bed, knocking his sheets to the floor as he scrambled over to his closet, opening it to fumble through his clothes. Grabbing a white collared shirt and jeans, he quickly dressed himself, nearly getting stuck in his shirt. The boy rushed downstairs, nearly tripping on his way. He was in a hurry to gather his things, barely having any time for breakfast, as appealing as the smell was.

wren is gonna be such a bad influence on mist(c) advo -
nah, where we live we take this thing called TCAP tests
now that i'm in middle school they spread it over two or so weeks instead of just using a whole school day to do it
it's not the best way, since we blew through it faster, but it's easier on us so(c) advo -
Wrenbreeze rushed over, urged by Beekit's yelling. Clan-mates were staring, frozen in place, watching as the apprentice convulsed. He joined them for a split moment, looking on in horror, then shook himself back into action. He dove down beside the apprentice, his nose wrinkling up at the stench. His mouth opened and closed like a suffocating fish, he just couldn't find the words to say, his voice failing him. He wanted to try and soothe Mistpaw through it, but he knew that wouldn't make him feel better at all. He would feel better once he wasn't shaking and rolling around in vomit."I-I will!"
He spoke up before he even registered what Rainwatcher had said. He wanted to help, not stand by like most of the cats around them were. His legs brought him outside the camp in powerful strides, where he stopped and tried to remember what he had said to get. He felt the panic rising, certain he would die without the things he had to get; he was juggling someone else's life. Willing down the bile in his throat, he forced himself forward, his mind clouded. Moss, I need moss.
His claws sunk into the bark of a tree standing high just on Riverclan's border, dragging down the moss clinging to it's trunk. It gathered up between his nails, rolling what he had gathered and clutching it between his teeth, making a bee-line back to camp. His breath came out in loud huffs, echoing in his ears, and he realized the weakness in his limbs. Rainwatcher had been right; there was something wrong with the prey, and he thanked Starclan he wasn't behaving like Mistpaw, at least not yet."speaking" "actions" — tags

A bitter silence fell upon the clearing. Wrenbreeze felt the weight of his words on his chest, but he barely registered them. The river was poisoned-no, their life source, was poisoned. That was the only thing they lived on, the water. His claws spread out and dug, deep into the earth, trying to ground himself. He felt like he was going to be blown away; he hated feeling so fragile, like one touch would send him crumbling. His whole body was tensed up, eyes downcast and a twisted smile on his face, one that conveyed his frustration and fear."You're lying," he chuckled lowly, but it was wavering, hesitant. "You...this is a sick joke, right?"
He took a step back, searching Rainwatcher's face, then Rookpaw's as he appeared. He didn't believe any of it-no, he didn't want to believe it. In the back of his mind, it was all true, but he shook it away. Glancing around at his clan-mates, their quiet was worse than any sort of laughter. He would rather be laughed at, be told that he was freaking out over a small little prank. But no, none was even smiling.
Lowering his head, he blinked back the tears, the urge to cry like a little kit again appearing just behind his eyes. He was a coward, and it was showing. He didn't know how to handle his fear. At the medicine apprentice's order, he slowly moved to the left, keeping his face concealed. Who didn't eat anything besides frogs and water voles in the past moon, anyway?

//yep, sorry 'bout thatWrenbreeze had never seen Rainwatcher in such a state. He was usually calm and collected-maybe irritated, sometimes-but now, he looked like he was about to fall apart. Seeing your brother sick and shaking would probably do that to you. He could sort of relate, having four siblings to worry about himself. Turning back to Mistpaw, he frowned at his state, pained to see anyone like this. His eyes darted away, back towards the medicine cat apprentice, a soft smile on his face.
"Hey, Rainwatcher...you're good at what you do, he'll be fine under your care," he tried to reassure him, but was probably failing. Although he would try to assure anyone who was going through this, he felt like he needed to for him, since he felt akin to him. Yeah, Wren of all cats could actually be nice. Who knew.

Wrenbreeze wasn't the easiest to get along with. He was a boastful tom, with a habit of picking on others, and hidden fear of anything a kit would be scared of. But he wasn't all spice and nothing nice. If one was willing to put up with his difficult facade, he was actually pretty nice-he cared a lot about his clan-mates, even those he teased, and was very hard-working. Even as a warrior, he would train every now and then to keep himself up to shape. She-cats wouldn't like a tom who lazed around and was chubby around the edges.With the early morning sun rising over the horizon, reflecting and bouncing off the water's shining surface, he awoke with a complaint, grumbling to himself about how early it was and to get a few more minutes of slumber. But the sunlight was relentless and crept through into the den, shining into his eyes. Eventually he gave into the universe's will, although reluctantly, his toes curling as he stretched out his body, maw unfurling in a yawn.
He trudged out from the warrior's den, his stomach gurgling but he decided to avoid the fresh-kill pile, after Rainwatcher's message from Starclan. As much as he hated to believe it, the river was poisoned, as their ancestors had said so. Taking a seat in one corner of camp, he looked around at the growing number of clan-cats hanging around in camp, deciding to do nothing for now, as it was a bit too early.
