thank you, rinnie. you're too sweet <3
was also wondering if you could also help me with this plot, since i think cougarstar would be the best fit
    especially since he's deputy now

i would offer wren for some private threads but
they're muse-killers for me so lol

Now, as deputy, he felt the pressure to go. They needed him, especially in times like these. Though he had been in a daze lately, after the meeting, he was aware of this much. But everything else was still a blur. It felt like he was almost seeing the world for the first time, seeing but not really recognizing. He was definitely acting apart from his usual self. Padding over to join the group, his eyes ghosted over his clan-mates, simply nodding with a far-away stare.

He, too, had a now more lean build. The taste of silver fish was but a distant memory in his mind. They all looked pitiful to different degrees, with the tom slowly losing the muscle he normally had. His sides put his rib-cage on display, the outline of them just barely poking through. His appearance would only get worse.

Wrenbreeze still felt the ground turning, but it was slower, steadying itself as the whole situation sunk in. It still dulled the flame in his body, just as the news of the waters being poisoned had. He felt empty, a shell of himself. Now it left him to question just who he was. But it wasn't time for it, a touch hovering over his side, grounding him just slightly.

He lifted his head, distracted from his pity party. He wasn't expecting Rainwatcher of all people to be comforting him. He wasn't really complaining, as he just needed it in general, but they didn't exactly get along. Shrugging his shoulders, he offered the ghost of a smile, though it didn't hold the emotional value it should have. "Thanks, Rain. I look forward to it," he said, hoping to rid the tom of his worries.

Apparently he was a good liar, because none realized just what he was like. He tended to keep his true nature hidden, but he was still surprised none was keen enough to see past. Sighing under his breath, he looked back up towards their leader, making sure she didn't have any other announcements to make.

[already did some, but if you don't see your character up here, just post and i'll add them up]

    rookpaw,
    ( trad riverclan )

"Well, he's kind of a stick in the mud. I'll tease him a bit from time to time, but we don't squabble nearly as much as me and Magpiepaw. Still, even if we fight now and then, I deeply care for him. I even consider him a friend, even though I obviously get on his nerves. I'm not the bravest in the world, I know that, but I would protect him if it ever came down to it,"

    magpiepaw,
    ( trad riverclan )

"It's really entertaining how fired up he gets. That's mostly why I pick on the kid, because he has such a fire. Yeah, he's super annoying, but he's a good kid. He just has his morals in the wrong place. Like Rookpaw-and all my siblings-I care a lot for him. I'd protect him with my life, if I had to,"

    deerclaw,
    ( trad riverclan )

"I mean, I care a lot for her, but she really gets on my nerves. She's like an older, more responsible version of Magpiepaw, always getting on my tail. Even so, I would definitely protect her if I ever needed to,"

    larchfang,

    rainwatcher,
    ( trad riverclan )

"I really like Rainwatcher. He's super smart, and I respect him, even though I don't show it very well. Even so, I don't know him very well, and I would like to. I'm very curious about what's he's like when he isn't annoyed or angry at me. But he can be really annoying himself. Sometimes we'll just bicker with one another, and I'll admit, he is kinda amusing when he's angry,"

    mistpaw,
    ( trad riverclan )

"Meh, I don't know him that well. But I guess I should, given he's my apprentice. For now, I'm neutral about him,"

    cougarstar, [/color]
    ( trad riverclan )

"I really respect her and how she leads with no hesitance or uncertainty. "

    owldapple,
    ( trad riverclan )

"Owldapple? I don't know much about him. All I know is that he's Cougarstar's mate, and if he can earn her respect like that, then I guess I respect him, too,"

Wrenbreeze was also the opposite himself-yet, inside, he wasn't that different. He simply put on an act, of toughness and easy-going confidence. It was the counterpart to his inward turmoil. It was easier to pretend he loved himself than acting like his true self, simpler than bearing the weight of others' disdain. But didn't they already dislike who he was? It seemed, no matter how he acted, or whatever persona he played, none would be on his side. Sure, he was deputy now, and respect was commanded. But who was to say they had to genuinely appreciate him?

Ducking out of the warrior's den, the moss of his old bedding was clamped between his jaws, and he dragged it with the intention of dumping it and gathering new, cleaner moss. He lifted his head at the she-cat's greeting, only nodding his head. He was still left in a daze after the meeting, the news taking a long time to seep down into his mind. Maybe someday his old self would arrive again, rising up from the cold exterior.

A come-back to Cheetahpaw's comment was dancing on the tip of his tongue, urging his mouth open, but he stayed silent. He didn't have the energy to handle an argument anymore, at least now right now. He trudged along with the rest of the patrol, his face scrunched up oddly at the scent. It was sour and bitter inside his nose. It was all too familiar to him, causing what felt like a pitfall inside his stomach. Memories pushed in at the back of his mind, trying to invade his thoughts, yet he struggled to push them back. Not now, not anymore.

But, at Mistpaw's sudden cry, he turned sharply and looked after where he had disappeared. He prayed nothing had happened to the young tom, quickly bounding after him without thinking of the consequences. He burst through and here, the smell was as strong as ever, his eyes burning with tears of their own. He blinked, trying to rid himself of them. The sight of a corpse was simply too much for him, he didn't want to face it-not again. He hated death, hated it's ugly face and stench.

It had taken his father in it's wretched hands. He was overwhelmed by the mere sight of the remains of his clan-mate, closing his eyes and trying to ignore reality.
