A sleepover just for the younger members of the clan sounded like perfect fun in Kilio's book. And it would be fun without "endangering himself", as some might say, so there was no way he would get in trouble for this kind of fun. He bounded towards the mound of blankets that Sena had collected, jumping headfirst into them and weaseling around the pile until his head popped out at the top. "This sounds great! We gotta play sleepover games, like truth or dare!" The hyena was also eyeing that snack table with a hungry gaze, but he'd gorge himself on sweets after enjoying the comfort of pillow mountain.

The cub gave a sigh of relief as his leg was released from the sharp deathgrip of the vicious child half his size. Not that he was weak or anything! He could handle pain, totally. He just didn't really like it. It did feel nice that his dad had come by to help him out, and they had sucessfully accomplished a nice father-son smacking a bratty kid on the head outing.

"Well it hurt when you bit my leg too! It hurt way worse because of your dumb baby teeth!" Kilio snarled. His leg would probably be fine, but it still irked him that this child would try to capture him on his own territory. He was just about fed up with her clan. "Why is some Shadowbrat here anyway? For a clan that got all upset when apprentices went to your territory it sure is dumb to send a pup here!"

Following Newt's gaze, Kilio squinted a bit to make out more details of the bridge. It certainly looked like a deathtrap if there ever was one. Had it ever even been in use, or was it some kind of ghostly trick to lure victims to their ends? The cub shuddered at the thought and nodded along with Newt's notion of "not sturdy". Then he froze; had Newt just said teleport? He could teleport? That was so cool! He'd never met a teleporter before. "Yeah! Yeah let's teleport!" His voice had risen from its fearful whisper to his normal volume. Could he develop a power like that too? He hoped so.

//that sounds good!! kilio will love that lol

Kilio's eyes widened at his father's admission. "It's not your fault! I should have been stronger so you didn't have to protect me, I should have-" his voice choked up again, and he willed himself to blink away the tears forming in his eyes. With a moment to think, he realized what Arcane had really said; he had transformed because he wanted to save his son. It was Kilio's own fault for being in danger, but. . . did that mean he hadn't forced his dad to transform?

If it could at least be a little less his fault, if Arcane had willed it in some way, that lessened the pain of his guilt somewhat. He stepped closer to his father pressing his muzzle against his fur, his voice now thick with tears. "Are you really sure it wasn't my fault? You promise you're ok?"

Spotting his friends talking across the camp, Kilio skipped to the talking pair quickly. He hadn't noticed Kate's disappearance at all. In fact it would be difficult for the cub to notice anyone else's activity since he rarely paid any attention to it. As long as someone was there to give him something to do, he seemed satisfied. Walking closer he did notice Kate speaking to someone who wasn't Newt. She was talking to a butterfly? One that looked really cool! Running up to the serval he sat on his hind legs, lifting his front paws to try and reach the insect. "Hey a butterfly! Does he have a name?"

The sudden shift in location did make Kilio a little dizzy, but he shook his head at Newt's offer. He could handle a little headache, no problem, as long as he didn't feel sick. He watched Newt begin to poke at the sand in the center of the island, then began studying the stones at his suggestion. They were mostly smooth, strangely so, except for tiny markings carved into their surface. There were swirling symbols and jagged slashes, all of which looked completely intentional.

He hopped over the stones, deciding it didn't feel right touching them, and ran to the center alongside Newt. "Those stones are weird, I think someone must've put them here on purpose." Had they used that gross old bridge? Must've been a long time ago. The cub began digging through the sand intently, making a sizable dent when it started to feel a bit harder to get through. His eyes lit up in an amber blaze. "I think there's something here! It must be treasure, we're real treasure hunters!"

Kilio crawled out of the pillow mound, falling with a flop to the bottom before popping back up to speak to everyone who had arrived. "It's ok dad, it's my first sleepover too!" he said in Arcane's direction before turning to Ivylee and giving her a determined look. "I bet I can give the best dares! And I can do anything you throw at me!" To Rosewater he cocked his head for a moment. He hadn't really played the truth and lie game a lot before, mostly because it was based more on figuring out individuals than doing something cool, but he would try it out he supposed. "That sounds good! We'll have a ton of games to play." As he spoke he found himself inching toward the snack table until he backed into it. He grabbed one of the sweets off the table and stuffed it in his mouth, looking back at the group with full, chipmunk like cheeks.

The smell of sweets brought Kilio running to the area, ears perked up in interest. His amber eyes grew wide as he approached, locking on to the pile of sweets that Titan held on to. Croc definitely had the right idea; sharing was caring or something like and, and this cub was all about being cared about. Honestly, Kilio himself had already had a bit of candy for the holiday, but darn if he wasn't going to try and get as much as he possibly could! The hyena cub trotted a bit closer to the snow leopard, obviously eyeing the candy. "If you eat all of that you'll get sick, you can give some to me!" definitely the perfect sneaky suggestion.

Kids? Titan was having kids? That sounded amazing! Kilio didn't really know anything about the difficulty of caring for children, the idea didn't even cross the cub's mind. Really the first thing that went through his head at the idea of kids was the chance to have some little kids to look up to him for being a big and strong and brave apprentice. He could take the little ones on their own adventures and teach them all about the trials and tribulations of a true adventurer; he couldn't wait for the snow leopard cubs to arrive!

He hopped up to Titan, pawing at the much larger leopard's shoulder. "Hey when your kids get here can I teach them battle moves and stuff? Can I?" The idea of a bunch of younger friends looking up to him in awe as he showed them things adults weren't normally impressed with pleased him greatly. He would feel like the center of attention all the time! and he would get to pass on his amazing knowledge.

don't worry about it!! im sorry too, haven't been doin much with kilio

maybe instead of a drought something contaminating the water? it could make all the prey sick and the water undrinkable so they have to to try covertly steal from other clans?
or they would have to go to allies for help and do weekly get togethers with different allies bringing food and water

or we could do like. idk an ally summer pirate party. everyone pitches in to make costumes and boats and then allies come and play pirate war. (tryin to keep with the water theme lol)

The mane along Kilio's spine began to stand up, the feeling of goosebumps running beneath his coat. He looked to Newt, trying to mask the worry in his expression to appear brave. "Uh, y-yeah! We found the treasure so we can, head out now." As he spoke he took a single step forward towards the treasure, despite feeling worse the closer he got. As he placed his paw against the sand the ground beneath him shot upward, sand blowing in all directions and clouding his vision. The hyena fell backward with the force, rubbing his paws against his eyes to keep out the offending substance.

As he opened his eyes again, still squinting, he noticed a figure now in front of him. His gaze widened, peering up at a translucent, decaying creature that now stood before the two of them. It rumbled in some ancient, hissing tongue for which Kilio could not hope to understand, but he heard a hatred in its voice all the same. His amber gaze shifted wildly to Newt, false bravado wavering as quickly as it had come. He felt frozen to the spot, unsure of what the beast was going to do to them.

Kilio bounded toward the meet and greet with a kip in his pawsteps. Of course everyone knew who he was, right? He was the great Kilio! He did give Elixir a bit of a sad look at his response. Why would anyone gossip about his friend? It didn't make sense to him.

Ignoring the thought, he paused beside Ivylee, bouncing in place. "Hi everyone! I'm Kilio, and Arcane is my dad! I'm always here if you wanna do something really really cool, like adventure or find treasure!" His antics sounded almost like a pirate's to do list, though it would be a ridiculous sight for the cub to wield a weapon and try to look menacing. Perhaps he could manage, if his victims were afraid of small fluffy creatures.

Wow. Titan was oding pushups with a gigantic boulder on his back, and Kilio thought that was just about one of the coolest things he'd ever seen. He padded forward, watching with wide amber eyes as the snow leopard seemingly effortlessly pushed off the ground despite the massive weight. He was so strong! It was amazing!

And that thought process took about two seconds to devolve into the hyena cub being absolutely sure that he could do that just as well. He could totally prove his own strength alongside Titan! His head whipped back and forth, ears flopping against his skull with the force as he looked for a similar rock to use. Of course it had to be something he could lift himself, so when he spotted a small softball sized rock nearby he leaped over to grab it in his jaw. It turned out to be a bit denser than he'd realized and he struggled to get his mouth around it, but eventually he found himself dragging the stone nearer to where Titan was working out.

Pausing near the other, Kilio laid on his stomach and again grabbed the stone in his jaw. He wiggled his backside a bit, trying to fold himself enough to place the rock on his back and eventually just barely managing to roll in up his side with his nose. Giving a huff from the pre-workout, he nodded, satisfied with the stone's placement on his spine. Then he looked forward, pushed his front paws against the ground, and only slightly managed a few short, pitiful pushups. The small stone really was heavier than he'd anticipated.

Looking up to Titan, he still let out a large grin, breathing heavily. "Look Titan! I'm- whew- I'm just as strong as you!"

Kilio really wasn't all that great at fishing. Being a creature native to much drier areas, he wasn't quite built for the task and found it to be somewhat awkward. But he would try anyways! He really needed to gather up some fish for an idea he had, and he needed to gather up very specific ones. The cub had a large empty bucket to collect all of his catches, and another large bucket full of some bait. Considering the fish he wanted to catch would mostly be somewhat weakened, they should at least be easier to catch and less likely to swim away from his prying paws.

He grabbed a small thread with a hook at the end and dipped it into the bait bucket, catching some bug on the hook. Then he placed it into the sea water below him on the small bank he rested on and watched carefully. He was close enough that if he felt a tug against the string in his mouth, he could reach out with his paws and grab the fish. He only hoped he would find the right ones; he needed to get a bucketful of isopod infected fish, hopefully some with tongue isopods. Those were the creepiest! He sat on the bank, completely still, doing his best to wait patiently for the fish to show up.

Alright, Kilio knew better than to enter ShadowClan territory. He did! That one experience was enough for him to not repeat that mistake again. But after hearing that the Shadow leaders had had twenty new children, and that all those children played some nasty prank on the border, there was no way he was going to just let them be so immature to his clanmates. No way!

And of the course the reasonable, much more mature course of action for him to take was for him to return the prank favor. He had spent a considerable amount of time fishing, collecting an entire bucket of the slimy creatures. He'd caught a ridiculous amount that hadn't been right for his plan, but eventually he had found all the ones he wanted. Some water had been added to the bucket, enough to keep the fish alive though mostly packed and flopping against one another, and it sloshed out with each tug the cub applied as he pulled it along. He dragged it all the way to the ShadowClan border, giggling profusely. This was perfect retribution for the vomiting prank, and most definitely completely reasonable. The striped hyena puffed his chest out, calling into the territory. "Hey Shadowkids! I got a present for you guys!"

Kilio giggled at the pup happily eating his fish. Obviously he wouldn't just bring a bunch of food to the clan, he knew better than that! Although perhaps this one had managed to grab a fish that had its most important component come off in the bucket. It was entirely possible, unless he simply hadn't goten to the head of the fish yet. Then there would be quite the surprise waiting for him.

Most of this fish he had brought had a happy surprise in them: a number of isopod parasites attached to their insides. Some of the isopods were in their gills, some buried in holes above their fins, and the best ones had taken the place of the fish's tongue! They were weird, gross, giant bug creatures that would hopefully begin to crawl out of the fish once out of the water. Plus they has a penchant for biting, though they didn't carry any kind of venom. They were just annoying. "I'm so glad you like the present!" The hyena turned to Jess, making a face at the other pup. "Don't be so stuck up! Just try one, they're great!"

Kilio perked his ears up upon hearing his friend's voice, then looked upwards at the stallion. "Hi Eli! Yeah, I'm gonna catch a whole bunch of fish!" His words were only a little bit muffled by his mouth's grip on the string, but mostly understandable.

He suddenly felt a tug on the string, and looked down to see a fish just below the surface mouthing at the hook. He readied his paws, focusing intently on the swimming creature and inching just a bit closer. With a massive splash he swatted his paws into the water, feeling the fish squirming rapidly in his grip.

It had worked! Well, for a second. The fish slipped away from him and he leaned over quickly to try and not let it escape. With a few quick splashes, he was tumbling into the water. As fast as he was in he was back out again, scrambling against the surface of the bank and coughing salty water from his lungs. "S-stupid fish! It was so big it dragged me in!"

Kilio puffed his cheeks in frustration at the next pup to enter the scene. Who was this kid trying to be all high and mighty about mortals or whatever? "I don't care what you think you can hear with your dumb evil ears! I'm just giving a nice peace offering of some native sea species."

And of course someone else had to come running to help out the pup already eating the fish. The pup had still gotten bitten and was now yelling about Kilio being the mean one. He was only doing what was justified! At this point Kilio stamped his feet to the ground in what was absolutely not a temper tantrum. "You're the mean ones! And I'm not taking these all the way back to camp, you gotta keep them." The cub ran around the bucket and turned with his back to the ShadowClanners. Using a bucking motion, he kicked his back feet against the tub a few times, eventually getting it to fall over completely and spill the content over the side of the border, fish flopping and jumping against the solid ground.

He turned back to the other pups and stuck his tongue out. "You gotta keep the present now! Enjoy your new bugs in your home." The isopods wouldn't survive more than a day or two out of water, but they might at least be annoying little creatures in the meantime.

Kilio's cheeks remained puffed out at the pup's weird demon powers that let them pick all the fish back up, and his weird comment. Of course Kilio was alright with letting them die, they were fish! The parasites living in them were going to kill them soon anyways, since the little bugs had sucked any good nutrients out of them. If they wanted to keep the biting bugs they were free to.

At least he had managed to get one victim in. That was plenty to get back for the vomit trick, especially since the border now smelled like fish. He looked at the crying pup being soothed by the other Shadowclanners and pinned his ears back. "Yeah, it's not poisonous dummy. It's just contagious so you're gonna turn into a bug in a day." Were contagious and poisonous the same thing? The cub wasn't well versed enough in these kinds of things to know for sure. Although a pinprick of guilt hit him for making fun of the upset child, he pushed it back down quickly. He had to be more like Elixir, not feel bad for his enemies.

A shiver ran down Kilio's spine at the pup's angry words. Who was this kid? They were totally creepy! He wasn't about to deal with scary demons, though he did try to gulp down his fear so he could at least respond. "I-I'm not on ShdowClan territory! This is the border, only the fish went to the other side. I-if you attack me you'd be the one trespassing!" No way, he wouldn't risk going back to that place. That was a lesson learned long ago.

Still, the pup had a point about fun being done. He'd gotten his revenge prank over with, and it was totally absolutely successful. Right? Close enough. "I'm g-gonna go back to camp! A-and let Ivylee know the shadow demons threatened to cross borders!" He would do no such thing since he would have to admit to his little prank, but he did know the kids had crossed the border before and he wasn't about to get eaten by a scary demon kid. Boy, he hoped he never got weird powers like that. Way too scary! He grabbed the handle of his bucket in his mouth and began dragging it backwards, much lighter without all the water in it.
