    ROMAN SOLDIER

she approached you with a fire in her eyes

    "the praetor has fallen!"

that much was obvious. blood spilled around her from her wounded stomach and various other scratches and scars she'd acquired in the fight. she couldn't move. everything hurt. her eyes shut and she wished she could pray - if this was her death, she wanted the gods to hear her words before she passed away - but she couldn't think straight.

"FOR ROME!" the voices of soldiers - her soldiers - grew in volume around her. her death only fueled them and besides the excruciating pain she felt pride bubble in her.

even if she died, they would win this fight.

surrounding her on all sides the battle continued. soldiers on all sides fought with swords or javelins and through her fading vision she could see the gold glint of her roman soldiers swords and shields.

she had been leading her legion into the fight, confident they would win. the battle was going wonderfully, just as she had expected. they had been having a string of victories for months due to her arising to the praetor status. she had been having the time of her life leading her soldiers to battle. she trusted them. and in turn, they trusted their praetor.

    and she had failed them.

but she knew her achievements would make her name live forever.

knowing this, she allowed her eyes flutter under the weight of impending death. they closed. and she died...

...until she woke up a mere five minutes later. she scrambled up onto to her paws. "what?" a strangled gasp escaped her. how was she alive? she died but here she was, healed with no scars. the battle continued around her except...slower. like she was frozen in time and everyone was leaving her behind.

"praetor." the words boomed, ripping through her foremind and resonating throughout her body. her body went ramrod straight instinctively as though her body knew that whoever was speaking held the higher authority here. "you have fallen, and died an honorable death - a death as honorable as your father's. child of rome, your time has not yet been served."

"the gods will allow you to live..." a pause followed after. "you're welcome."

suddenly she was falling through darkness, her yells piercing the thick silence like a knife.

    ` ` ` `

romania started awake, her eyes flying wide open. her mind drifted between conscious and unconscious and during this she tried to grasp her dream. but the tendrils of them fell away from her conscious mind. disappointment seeped into her and a sigh fell past her maw. never, ever had she remembered a single dream of hers - unfortunately, this was was no different.

a part of her wished she could continue sleeping. but the early bird in her was jostling inside of her chest. the wolf rolled over onto her stomach, rising to her usual height. she shook her body, sleep fading away like a distant memory.

bright blue eyes squinted around her as awareness of where she was dawned on her; she had camped out beside one part of a tattered wall. it was broken up, here and there but she knew it was an entrance to something. the mingling scents there had an underlying sameness to them, suggesting a group of some sort lived beyond. however, she camped outside of the wall anyway.

something told her that it wasn't going to be long until someone found her. she had to get a move on before that happened.

ooc: you don't have to match my muse at all! don't feel pressured to write a long, big post

romania's settled down in the front, close to where dahlia was seated but distanced away from everyone else. after all, she'd only joined just the day before and it wasn't like she had any friends to sit near. wow, that was depressing, romania realized.

the plethora of different animals made her curious gaze rome over her new clanmates and the thunderclanners around her. as they began conversing, she opted to stay silent. her opinion on the current situation wouldn't be helpful as the ones who had seen and and experienced this event.

the wolf's ears pricked at a certain piece of dahlia's words. battle trainings? those words were oddly familiar, like she'd forgotten and had only just remembered them. without thinking, romania moved forward, the tall she-wolf clearly visible now. "i'll be able to host battle trainings and sparring sessions, if the time comes." her voice held a confident tone. she felt confident, too. a gut feeling told her that this would help her...somehow.

okay, romania, time to stop thinking weird ominous thoughts.

dammit. of course. she just had to think that someone was going to turn up soon.

romania stood tall as bastilleprisoner approached, holding her ground and making no point in moving. she was not sure if he was hostile. the she-wolf dipped her head once in greeting before speaking. "it's nice to meet you, bast. i apologize for trespassing on eden territory," her tone was polite, laced with sincerity.

"my name is romania. and no, i don't think i need anything in particular..." however, romania paused. "except information, if you can spare some." she added as an afterthought.

"who lives beyond these walls? what is 'eden?'" her eyes didn't stray to the wall they stood next to. "are they dangerous?" her eyes poring into his own as though they were the reason for making her blink.

lateness seemed to be a common thing around here - she herself was late. romania sidled up towards everyone, her attention focusing on dahlia as she stormed past. a single eyebrow arched upwards. she looked like hell on wheels, romania thought.

although she didn't feel alarm like the majority of her fellow knights, surprise made the wolf's ears prick. something told her that this wasn't a regular occurance. "noted, dahlia." she wasn't opposing, though; it made sense to enforce peace with war.

after all, not everyone deserves mercy.

ooc: ooo this is totally going to be great for Romania,, her roman soldier aspect is gonna come out ;^))

romania wandered through the slowly gathering crowd, her blue luminaries trailing over the foreign guests. the wolf was having trouble relaxing; a party wasn't exactly her idea of peace and tranquility. curled up in her den with a book, however, sounded very nice.

as she drifted through the crowd, her attention was caught by a cat trying to discern the name of knights of eden.

stopping in her tracks, she decided to help out. "it's knights of eden," she filled in for loveletter, her voice laced with humor. as she took in loveletter's appearance, concern filled her eyes; she looked terrible. "hey, uh," she glanced around her before letting her eyes fall back on loveletter, her gaze soft. "would you like to grab something to eat with me?" romania felt oddly nervous asking this.

would she catch on that this was romania's subtle way of trying to help? she didn't know if loveletter would feel comfortable if she questioned her health.

[size=8]romania felt awkward as she stepped towards the two, her pawsteps heard by crunches in the grass. the wolf didn't really know if she was interrupting anything but it felt weird to stay indoors after just waking up from a nightmare - she didn't really mind. she hadn't even remembered her nightmare, only the fact that it was a nightmare. brief annoyance made her ear twitch.

"good night," she greeted before realizing her mistake. "oh, i meant, good morning." wait, that didn't make any sense, either. her head swung side-to-side as though she were shaking off her mistake. "sorry, i mean, hello." she smiled apologetically.

"i don't want to interrupt-" romania felt guilt as she this. "-but it is a very nice night to be stargazing. would it be alright if i joined the two of you?"

[size=8]frankly, if romania was being honest with herself, she was totally contributing to the inactivity running through the clan. the woman stepped towards her comrades, an apology already forming on the tip of her tongue. "hey guys. i'm really sorry for the inactivity," her tone was sincere. "i'm hoping to be more active this upcoming week, though." her fiery red ponytail bobbed as she spoke.

"i think an easter ball would be really cool. a pool would be a nice addition, too." she flashed a grin at bast as she said this "i think if we invited allies, it'd be even better." an idea popped into her mind as an afterthought. "and thunderclan is just a hop, skip, and a jump away since it takes only five minutes to walk over there."

[size=8]romania was settled in the courtyard on her stomach, a book splayed out in front of her. annoyance and irritation was laced in her features. a moment later, the wolf was baring her teeth. "this is ridiculous." she muttered. before long, the book she had been trying to read was shut and set on a pile to her left. on her right, was another pile of books.

with her maw, she grabbed another book from the right pile and dropped it in front of her. raising a paw, she flipped open the book to the first page and started reading.

more like, tried to start reading.

it was literally impossible. it was like the letters were moving in front of her eyes. shifting, turning, crawling all over her page and changing from A's to D's to W's in a matter of seconds. she blinked at the words in front of her and squinted but that had no effect; nothing on the page made sense.

unfortunately, this had been happening for over the past few weeks. whenever romania tried to read, she was disappointed and angry because she couldn't. and she didn't know why either. not knowing why made her feel even worse about her condition - if you could even call it that.

she wasn't sick. she felt fine. so why couldn't she read any goddamn books?

the wolf opened her maw, growling, as she grabbed the book in her mouth and started shaking it from side-to-side, expressing her anger.
