//too lazy to fix fancy lol
Rustkit sat thoughtfully after Pumpkinkit had presented the question. “I mean i care for Mothpaw, he’s really cool and super nice to me, and just one of the bestest friends I have in the clan. does that count mama?” The fiery orange kit wondered what it meant too, but she knew that there were many she cared about.

“Blackstorm explained it was an accident. That Blizzard made a mistake because they are sick.” Rustkit admitted. She didn’t blame the silver bengal, disliked yes, but apparently their mother was mates with the the deputy now. Officially it was actually the trio of them, but Rustkit felt it was too in over her head to understand the meaning of that at the moment for her young mind. “Blizzard has a daughter our age... she’s new to the clan. I saw her... she’s kinda nice. I think.”

Rustkit grimaced, cuffing her sibling gently. “Look, I don’t think she’s bad at all!” Rustkit was known for being a hotheaded, stubborn kit. With her siblings, not an exception. The fiery kit sighed, realizing she was overreacting. Something she learned during her moon in the medicine cat’s den. Licking the fur on her chest as she calmed down, she studied her sibling. “You know, sometimes being judged for our parents do makes things really hard you know. Can’t you think in her paws? Do you know her like that?” Her gaze softened as she continued. “We’ll be apprentices soon... let’s not be mean. You never know, she could be a good friend.”

But what if it was the opposite? “What happens if I felt that way, but suddenly I don’t anymore... what do we do then? Does that make me bad?” Rustkit was a little confused on the matter but it did make some sense to her. Somewhat.

“Have you even tried to?” Rustkit countered. She was feeling a bit agitated now. She had been scared of Blizzard when it first happened and Snow was den bound for almost half a moon. But she realized Blizzard was much more different than he had before. There were times where she worried, yet it seemed this was one that he was slowly proving his worth to the clan little by little.

Rustpaw thought chores were such a drag. Well they definitely were! Sneaking off after her mentor dismissed her for the day, the young apprentice headed over towards the skyclan border. Knowing that the hills were great to go boarding on. Well if you find a nice flat piece of wood that is. Hopefully hers was enough to be able to slide down. The thrill of it got her so excited.

Rustpaw has been taking a nap after her first day out as an apprentice. Her mentor did not disappoint and toured her throughout group territory. Of course they avoided straying too close to Bloodclan’s border and River’s. But the fact that her little paws were aching and sore said a lot.
Hearing Rosepaw and Lambstar chatting, the young ginger couldn’t help but overhear. That didn’t sound like she was fine. No, not at all. Rising to her paws, the new apprentice padded over, grinning ear to ear at Lambstar. She was thankful and happy the leader was back. As for her friend, she wasn’t too sure either what was going on. “Rosepaw, I know you’re much closer to Blackstorm than anyone else here... but we can listen to your problems just as much as he could. Sure we may not know as much, but we’re here for you.” Rustpaw was trying to encourage, but she wasn’t sure if it was enough really.

The young ginger was pleased to be on a solo hunt. She’d been waiting for so long to be able to become an apprentice. Now she finally was! Her leg wasn’t acting up either with bouts of numbness. Oh how glorious! There wasn’t anything that could ruin this day.
Opening her maw to taste the air, a crisp earthy scent drew her attention. Ears swiveled forth, her tail twitching behind her as focus was apparent in her target that hid in the bushes. Enjoying its last meal, unawares, she farted forward her paws crashing down on her prey and a swift nip to its spinal cord in an effortless kill.
Oh yes, the little huntress was here.
Eris !

Rustpaw scowled seeing Scorpionpaw. She wanted to get away from the elders for just a little while! “Don’t tell my mentor! I just wanted to have a little fun. I did most my chores already!!!” She bared her teeth even more when he called her sister a little kit. “Starpaw is as much as an apprentice as you and I are. She’s just a tad bit smaller than we are okay! Now are you gonna join us and play a bit or complain that we aren’t in camp. We can always hunt a lot to take back.” She glared at the older tom, her fiery ginger fur catching the light and casting a beautiful flame-like glow around her.

She frowned. “Did you ignore her in the den too? Blizzard brought her to the medicine den, barely alive and weak. She was your den mate longer than We have been together.” Rustkit sighed. “You know what, I don’t like arguing about it... I know you were sick. I missed sleeping beside you but mama wouldn’t let us bother you. But you know what? We can try to be friends with her, can’t we?”

Finally they were able to have some time to bond and relax, but then Lambstar had caught her cousin and followed after. Grimacing inwardly, her emerald eyes looked at Lambstar defiantly. “We just wanted to have fun. We did our chores and we are away from Bloodclan borders! I just wanted to try this sledding thing the elders talked about! The fiery apprentice’s tail flicked impatiently behind her, though she adored and respected her leader, she still was a reckless child at heart, even if she had some wise qualities that would prove her self-worth once she grew up. She didn’t want to plead with the leader but she would if it meant that they could play a little and escape the suffocating tension in camp.

“Look i’m sorry Starkit... I know how you feel and understand... but you know I have your back. We’re sisters. Plus, i’m oldest in the litter, I promised mama I Wil always protect you guys.” Rustkit purred gently and nuzzled her dark furred sibling.

Mouse dung.
Finding her smaller size pressed against the hard dirt ground was very uncomfortable, especially since her attacker was one very massive feline who scented of a clan that nearly killed her step-father and deputy of her clan. “D-do I have to know your name?” The young Rustpaw stuttered. She was afraid alright and this time it wasn’t because a hawk almost made off with her, this time it would be a much more dangerous situation. One she probably cannot break free from as easily. “C-can’t you let me go? I promise I won’t say you w-were here...” The fiery ginger could only swallow the rising bile on her throat. The fear was waiting her stomach to twist and turn. What was going to happen.

Rustpaw was shocked to see a tom passed out on Thunderclan territory. Ignoring the fact that he reeked of blood, she raced over to his side, hoping she could wake him up. If not she hoped the others on the patrol would come to the area they were supposed to meet up at before returning to camp. “Hey. HEY! We’ll get you some help! Hang in there mister!” The fiery young molly was worried. He looked so weak.

Rustpaw grimaced, slightly elbowing her sister wondering what they could answer. “Uh, erm- I’m Rustpaw, this is my sister Stonepaw. You kinda passed out on our land.” She decided that it was the simplest things she could say.

Rustpaw herself was limping towards the den when she stopped beside the younger molly. “Hey, you’re the new kit that Blackstorm brought in... I’m Rustpaw, my mom’s Snow. You might meet her since she often stays with the queens in the nursery... oh- you alright?” She noticed she was also having paw troubles. Grinning sheepishly she gestured to her hind paw which was raised as she had been limping back into camp. “I ended up getting a thorn in my paw while hunting, so I just need some help getting it out. This thing hurts... though i’m sure Asphodelpaw will get us both sorted out soon as he finishes chew my ears off again for being ‘reckless’.” She grinned. The fiery ginger had calmed down considerably since she was a young kit, but she was still friendly and gentle-hearted as ever.

Rustpaw wearily padded over to her siblings. “Is- never mind that.” The fiery ginger tentatively peeked in the nursery, the smell of blood not deterring her from seeing her mother and half-siblings. Within she was trembling with fear, but somehow her calm facade was all there was. Asphodelpaw surely knew what to do right? She could trust the tom. Her mother would be alright.
But her green gaze widened seeing the two still forms and her mother’s form laying bloodied and a small squirming kit at her belly. “Snow?”

Rustpaw couldn’t bear it. She pulled away and back to her sibling’s side. “Petalpaw, mom is gonna be fine.” She stated. Her tail nervously twitching behind her was the only sign she wasn’t alright. “Blackstorm gets to be by her side while we wait out here... he did this to mom.”
