    ・゚ ✦ ° Curiosity Killed The Cat - Jaggeddawn was fairly happy as of late. Not so many awful things were happening, the BloodClan alliance seemed to be holding well enough again, and she'd almost forgotten about her time in the Dark Forest. Almost. How could she completely though, when every once in awhile Hawkgaze crept back into her dreams? She hadn't managed to keep Jaggeddawn in a nightmare long enough to 'train' her, but she was there. She showed up randomly, and every time Jaggeddawn was terrified that she wouldn't be able to escape, or that someone would feel her fidgeting. Worst of all was the guilt, which welled up stronger than ever each time Hawkgaze made another appearance. Jaggeddawn had made terrible errors. She should never have let a Dark Forest cat train her. She'd betrayed her clan, and her punishment? Nothing. LionStar had decided to do nothing, tell no one, and just pretend like the whole thing had never happened. Jaggeddawn had seen in his eyes how disappointed in her he was, and she'd also seen that he just couldn't bare to exile her. Jaggeddawn knew that if other cats knew, they might not feel the same way, so she had to do her best not to let anyone know. At the same time though, the black warrior knew she deserved to be found She deserved a punishment, something, anything, so she could feel like she was redeeming herself.

    // Ratshadow

    ・゚ ✦ ° Curiosity Killed The Cat - The black warrior flicked her ears as paw steps approached, and looked up to see who was there. Oohh... Ratshadow. It wasn't that Jaggeddawn had anything against Ratshadow, more like... Ratshadow had something against her. For good reason, Jaggeddawn knew. She wasn't the best warrior, she made a lot of mistakes, but she still wished her fellow clan mate would trust her. She'd never trust me again if she knew... At the question, Jaggeddawn's tail twitched warily. What was that tone? Concerned, suspicious, a bit of both? Did she already know? She can't. She'd have said something. It's just how I look, and she's right. So the warrior nodded, and meowed, "A bit. Kind of tired lately." Also true, she could hardly sleep for fear of the dreams. "How've you been Ratshadow?" Jaggeddawn remembered that Yowlthroat, the tom that Ratshadow had actually seemed to fall for... He was gone. "I'm sorry about Yowlthroat. I miss him too." He'd been her friend too, after all. But Ratshadow's mourning would've been different, Jaggeddawn knew that.

    ・゚ ✦ ° Curiosity Killed The Cat - Jaggeddawn wondered if it had been a bad move to mention Yowlthroat, but it was too late now. Ratshadow didn't do anything to acknowledge what she'd said besides a brief change in expression, before changing the subject. Jaggeddawn stiffened for a second, before forcing herself to relax, reminding herself that Ratshadow didn't know. But maybe she should. Of all the cats in ShadowClan, Jaggeddawn was pretty sure that Ratshadow would have some critical thoughts about what she'd done. Even so, the black warrior was afraid to just come out and say it. Hoping in vain that things might be better if she tried to make an excuse, the she cat meowed, "Oh, y-y'know, just not getting enough sleep, I guess." Jaggeddawn had stumbled over one of her words, a tell tale sign that she was scared, nervous, or both."Keeping busy as much as I can, maybe I'm over doing it a little." Not entirely untrue, Jaggeddawn was trying to make up for her huge error in judgement so she did work hard, but some of her lack of sleep was also from nightmares where Hawkgaze tried to force her to train more. She still hadn't fully escaped the Dark Forest, and it was that most of all that stressed and worried her.

    ・゚ ✦ ° Curiosity Killed The Cat - Ratshadow had a point, and Jaggeddawn flattened her ears in shame. She wanted Ratshadow to trust her, yet she was expecting her to trust a liar? She was right, trust did not start with lies. Nothing ended well if lies were involved. But Jaggeddawn had been lying for so long, could she tell the truth to Ratshadow? Do it. Ratshadow may hate you for it, but you'd deserve that. She might tell the whole clan, but you'd deserve that too. So she gave it a shot. Looking Ratshadow in the eye with a hesitant gaze, Jaggeddawn meowed, "Okay. You're right, I shouldn't be lying. It's just... I've made so many mistakes, you know that pretty well, huh?" She gave a small laugh, but there was little amusement in her voice. "This one's so awful... And I know I don't deserve to be forgiven. I've been training in the Dark Forest, ever since Mustangheart disappeared. M-My mentor told me it was for the best, she could help me be a better warrior... But it was wrong. A betrayal to my clan and clan mates. I've been trying to get away, but they don't want me to, and they don't want me to tell anyone, and they said terrible things would happen..." But nothing the Dark Forest could do would be worse than having to tell her father what she'd been up to. Not only that, but knowing that she'd basically gotten away with the crime, as Lionstar hadn't punished her. "They still drag me away to their place sometimes, when I'm asleep. But I hate it, I hate what I did, a-and I'm sorry I never told anyone sooner, and-" Jaggeddawn didn't know how to continue. She didn't want to leave ShadowClan, her father, Stonespirit... But that's for the clan to decide, once Ratshadow tells them. The black she cat almost felt relieved. She wouldn't be lying anymore.

    ・゚ ✦ ° Curiosity Killed The Cat - Jaggeddawn was a nervous wreck lately, wondering if she should just tell the whole clan herself what she'd done, seeing as the secret was eating her up inside, or if she should wait for Ratshadow to do it. She was sure the other warrior would, but if she didn't, Jaggeddawn didn't think it would matter. The clan would know, one way or the other. While she paced, agitated, she spotted her sister, Calmamber. She hadn't spent much time with the other molly lately, and decided this was a good way to keep her mind off of unpleasant things. "Hey Calmamber, how's it going?" Jaggeddawn meowed, padding over and noticing that Calmamber's belly looked a bit round. "Prey's abundant this green leaf, huh?" She meowed jokingly.

    ・゚ ✦ ° Curiosity Killed The Cat - Jaggeddawn purred to see her father approaching, and not looking too unhappy either. The loss of his mate must've been tough, and Jaggeddawn had been so worried that he would be as devastated as last time. But he seemed to be doing alright, and she was relieved to see that. At his words, the warrior's eyes widened with shock. "What?!" Jaggeddawn yelped, jerking her head to look round at Calmamber. "You're going to have kits?"

    ・゚ ✦ ° Curiosity Killed The Cat - Jaggeddawn knew this meeting would be a bad one. Her father looked so... Done, with everything, and miserable, and her heart ached for him. If only he could've caught a break... He still has us, at least. His children, Brokenpath, Calmamber, and Jaggeddawn. He'd even have grandchildren soon, as apparently Calmamber was pregnant! He might lose me, though... Jaggeddawn still didn't know what was going to happen there, regarding... Certain events. As LionStar spoke and announced the new deputy, Jaggeddawn's eyes widened. "Congratulations, Ratshadow!" She called out, the black she cat certainly deserved the position. She was extremely loyal, and would lead well after LionStar... Retired. Blinking, Jaggeddawn looked back over to her father. He was retiring? But that meant Ratshadow would likely be leader in his place. Of course the daughter supported her father's decision, he deserved some rest, but... Once Ratshadow had power over the whole clan, she'd be able to throw Jaggeddawn out no problem. LionStar might've been content to hide his daughter's secret, but what about Ratshadow? You already know it doesn't matter. If she doesn't tell them, you will.

    ・゚ ✦ ° Curiosity Killed The Cat - Ratshadow, a master of keeping her thoughts off of her face, let no hint of how she felt about Jaggeddawn's words slip through. She only watched, not looking angry, not looking happy. Jaggeddawn wondered, had Mustangheart not disappeared, if she would never have accepted training from such evil cats. That's an excuse. And there was no excuse for what she'd done. When Ratshadow finally spoke, Jaggeddawn was relieved that she could shake her head no. "No, I never attacked anyone for them, or anything like that." But then she thought of how she'd lied, how she'd pretended nothing but a nightmare had occurred whenever she woke up, appearing ruffled, or sporting a wound. "Well... Maybe. I-I lied, to everyone. To my whole clan. Because... Because I was afraid Lionstar would stop me from training with them." That was what Jaggeddawn was most ashamed of. For the longest time, she'd enjoyed training with Hawkgaze. She'd thought she was becoming a better warrior, that she could protect her clan this way. The she cat should've realized something was up, the moment Hawkgaze warned her never to speak of her training sessions.

    ・゚ ✦ ° Curiosity Killed The Cat - Jaggeddawn was deeply saddened by the loss of their deputy, she'd always seemed like a kind, motherly figure to many. That was nothing, however, compared to how sorry and sad she felt about her father. About all he had to go through, because, as she'd heard it, Jeminai had been too near the Thunder Path. What kind of sensible cat went anywhere close to that place? Jaggeddawn knew it wasn't right to be angry, Jeminai had paid the ultimate price for her folly, but in doing so she'd also broken her father's heart. Jaggeddawn had seen him go through it once, so why, why did he have to go through it again? She was thankful to Ratshadow for having found and returned the body, so that LionStar hadn't had to find her lying by the side of the road. Family was to bury Jeminai, and Jaggeddawn's sympathy for the deputy increased a little. As far as the warrior knew, Jeminai didn't have any family in ShadowClan, unless you counted LionStar being her mate. She could've had kits... But that was all over now. Jaggeddawn looked around for her father, and when she saw him she'd be sure to settle next to him, pressing close in

    ・゚ ✦ ° Curiosity Killed The Cat - Jaggeddawn strayed from her patrol, which had just returned, as she spotted Ratshadow making her way to the clan-rock. She knew her father was retiring, which meant... Which meant anything could happen. Jaggeddawn approached the rock amongst the other cats, listening to the murmurs around her, some surprised. The news of Ratshadow potentially leading hadn't reached all ears yet, it seemed. The elder ceremony was first, and Jaggeddawn cried out her father's name as loudly as anyone. He deserved this. If only it hadn't come at a time of such sorrow for him. Then Ratshadow spoke of Jeminai's death, and Jaggeddawn bowed her head in brief respect for the deceased. She'd sit with her father while he grieved as well, maybe help him bury her, if he allowed it. Weekly tasks were mentioned, as well as a new system for apprentices and mentors. That interested Jaggeddawn, but Ratshadow didn't elaborate now. I'll ask another time.

    The time came to speak of alliances, and the black warrior was very keen to know how their relationship with BloodClan would be, moving forwards. Ratshadow spoke wisely, and Jaggeddawn thought she had good ideas. While she was still skittish of BloodClan and all their members, more so after the unprecedented attack, they had thought ShadowClan had killed their leader's mate. They didn't have much proof, though. Jeminai was killed by the Thunder Path, but none of us are jumping to the conclusion that BloodClan killed her. For StarClan's sake, Caledon couldn't have even seen his wife's body, or he'd have known she was alive!

    Now the meeting was nearing it's end, and Jaggeddawn started to wonder who would be named deputy. There wasn't much to pick from, ShadowClan wasn't the most active recently, and there were many young members, but she was sure Ratshadow would pick someone good. Someone she trusts. Ratshadow would be deciding later, after she'd visited the Moon stone, and- Jaggeddawn blinked, staring up at the soon to be leader as though she hadn't heard. "You... You want me to come with you?" She meowed, as Ratshadow leaped down to answer questions.

    ・゚ ✦ ° Curiosity Killed The Cat - Recovering quickly from the shock, Jaggeddawn smiled. "Well, congratulations Calmamber!" LionStar would have something to look forward to, now. He'd have grandchildren soon, a reason to be happy. Upon hearing that the father was a Windclan tom, however, Jaggeddawn blinked. She remembered a warrior from long ago, Swampheart she thought her name had been. She'd had an affair with a DarkClanner, and LionStar had not been pleased. What would he think about this? Glancing at him, he seemed surprised, but not angry. 'You're going to raise them as ShadowClan?' Jaggeddawn's eyes widened again, she'd never even thought of the possibility of the kits going to WindClan. Please, please say yes! If they were to be raised in WindClan, LionStar would hardly ever see them. He might even lose Calmamber too.

    ・゚ ✦ ° Curiosity Killed The Cat - Jaggeddawn shook her head, shock still etched in her features. "I-No, of course I'll come, I just... Thank you, RatStar." Jaggeddawn couldn't remember if she was 'star' yet, or if she was 'shadow' until they visited StarClan. The warrior couldn't imagine why Ratstar wanted her to come but... Maybe she was ready to forgive Jaggeddawn, for all the stupid stuff she'd done? Maybe not all of it... Perhaps just some of it, for now. Jaggeddawn looked to her father, and stepped closer to nuzzle him gently. "I'll be back soon I guess, and I'll get you a mouse when I do." She purred, care for Lionsighted in her gaze, before she turned back to Ratstar, ready to go with her.

    ・゚ ✦ ° Curiosity Killed The Cat - Jaggeddawn felt her father's pain, keeping by his side as he wept. She wondered if he would ever find someone to love again, or if he would be too scared of getting his heart broken for the third time. Whatever he did, Jaggeddawn wanted him to be happy. "It's alright, dad. Jeminai's with StarClan now. I'll bet she and mom are watching you, right now." The she cat appreciated Ratshadow's words, and shot her a grateful look.
